Office365 - Word Document .docx banned from Mailer if you edit properties online. Bug ?

Hi,
I'm working on office365 (SharePoint 2013) solution with documents created on SharePoint Library.
We create new document in library with a simple custom template (in .docx format), I use a quick part in document.
I attach new document and send to customer mail, but I get "banned" result from recipient mailer cause of Dangerous attachment.. the docx file..!
Message from postmailer referres to a "0000.dat" file contained in docx that it recognized as exe file, so Dangerous.
I tested 2 behaviors:
Test 1
1) Create New Document (.docx) in SharePoint library
2) Download the new document on PC and Sent to GMAIL address
3) In Gmail arrives mail, then I forward this mail (with attached docx) to customer enterprise mail
4) I receive this mail, it work
Test 2
1) Create New Document (.docx) in SharePoint library
2) IMPORTANT: Edit Properties in browser (without open docx), i.e. change title, any property, or filename
3) then Download document on PC and Sent to GMAIL address
4) In Gmail arrives mail, then forward this mail (with attached docx) to customer enterprise mail
5) Gmail receive mail from postmaster of customer enterprise with error "banned attachment" for .dat file into file..
6) I receive no mail
I check docx from SharePoint.
I change extension of .docx file (from test 2) into .zip extension and extract these files.
In folder, I see a "[trash]" folder, with 0000.dat file..
I do the same with first file .docx (from test 1) and no "[trash]" folder into zip file.
Result: edit properties on SharePoint, change structure of file, creating folder "[trash]" and save into folder file 0000.dat.
This files is banned from postmaster and mail not received...
Can you help me?
Is it a issue/bug of office365/SP2013?
I'll try to test other scenarios (with .dot template, without quick parts, with file uploaded).
Thanks!

It is part of the OOXML specification: http://www.ecma-international.org/news/TC45_current_work/Office%20Open%20XML%20Part%201%20-%20Fundamentals_final.docx
9.1.7                   Trash Items
Trash items represent parts that have been discarded or are no longer in use.  Trash items shall not conform to OPC part naming guidelines as defined in Part 2 and shall not be associated with a content type.  All trash items
shall follow the naming scheme: [trash]/hhhh.dat where h represents a hexadecimal value.
[Example: A package has two parts that must be updated in-place but both parts have grown beyond their growth hints.  The newer updated parts are added as new ZIP items while the original parts are renamed to:
[trash]/0000.dat [trash]/0001.dat
end example]
So perfectly normal part of the specification that the spam filter needs to take into account. Now the spam filters I've dealt with (Microsoft's in O365, McAfee MailMarshal, Websense) certainly don't do this with up-to-date definitions.

  • Oversized text and lack of pages when placing a word document (.docx)

I'm reposting this, since the last one seemed to get lost in the jumble:
When placing text from a word document (.docx) indesign only gives me three pages for a 118 long document.  Also, those pages are blank, and to access the text, I have to delete a few blank lines.  When I do this however, the text is grossly oversized.  Changing the font does not help, as even on 6 pt, the text is much larger than it should be.  Help?  I've tweaked import options (although I may not know enough to diagnose the issue I am having), changed the format of the file (.doc, rtf) nothing seems to work.
I am working in Indesign CS5.5 and here is a link to the document I am working with:

Any help you could provide would be awesome.
    Thanks,
    -Julian Q.

The problem is the page size. It's tiny lee than an inch wide and a bit over an inch tall. I'm not sure what you set up, but what you have now seems to have been made much smaller with the Page tool, perhaps.
Set your ruler units in your prefs with nothing open to a system you are comfortable working in (the doc is set up in Picas, now. Do you know how to work in Picas?), then create a new file the size you really want.

  • OTM can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx)

With more and more use of Word Document(*.docx) (version 2007). OTM (Oracle Test Manager) can create an attachment with it, but can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx). Is this a problem for anyone else? Any wok around?
    Thanks
    Katherine

I am using OTM version 9.2 and the Word document (*.docx) attachment can be opened in this.
For being able to open a docx file, try to attach an word document from the file option in the Requirements, Test or Issue tabs in OTM , once you upload the file, please check if location is " in Database" Else click update DB and upload the document.
Once the attachment is attached to the Attachment section in the right pane, clicking on the attachment will open the *.docx document.
    This has worked for me.
    Hope this helps.

  • Receiving a message in my word document after converting from a PDF to word. Please advise

After converting and dowloading that converted file from a  Adobe PDF file to a word document I then open the word document to see a message stateing
"To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
For further support, go to www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html"
Please proivde advise on how to sucessfully convert the Adobe PDF file to a word document.

    Hi Buster,
The error message you were receiving occurs when you try to convert a dynamic PDF file created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.  This file is usually already a fillable form.  Unfortunately there is no workaround available for converting documents like this within the ExportPDF service.
    I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance.

  • Word documents have disappeared from my desk top (macbook air) and cannot be found anywhere, happened after switching off and re-bootingk

Saved word documents have dissappeared from the desk top after saving. Problem seems to occur when laptop is switched off and then re-started. they can't be found anywhere e.g tried spotlight, recent documents etc. Help. Joe

First, you might as well address the two apparently-minor issues you found:
Some info on the Epson Scanner Monitor (via searching these forums):
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8272208&#8272208
Not sure about the MS Word message, but it looks like you might need an upgrade. I'd check with Microsoft, or perhaps VersionTracker.com.
Ok, back to the original problem. Does the message have any other text (intelligible or not)?
Does it give you any options, especially "report"? If so, take it, then look via Console for a crash log.
What IS in the system log for the sleep/wake time? There should be a System Sleep, followed by a System Wake, and perhaps another line or two. Anything in that area might be helpful.

Have converted pdf file into a word document. How do I engage the edit option?

Not stupid you! To, from PDF--it gets confusing!
To edit a PDF file, you need to use Acrobat. Depending on how much work needs to be done to the PDF, it may make sure sense to edit in Word, and then reconvert to PDF. Acrobat doesn't function as a word processor, so while limited changes to the text should be fine, extensive updates may not yield the results you're looking for.
That said, if you don't have Acrobat, you are welcome to try it for free for 30 days. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • Merging word document with pdf file how do you renumber pages?

After merging a word document with pdf file, how do you renumber pages?  The pdf has more pages than the word document.  I first converted the word document to a pdf, using Acrobat Standard 9.

    Hi Petek ,
After you merge the files or combine files ,click on the Page Thumbnails panel on the left hand side.
In the Page Thumbnail panel ,right click and you will get a drop down list .Select the option "Number Pages".
You will see a dialog box with several options .You can renumber the pages from there as per your requirement.

Here is a post that I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions, or find alternative software that will open your data files;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.

When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

  • How can Tiger open Microsoft Word documents sent by e-mail?

I recently upgraded to Tiger and use Appleworks 6, which is unable to read the Microsoft Word documents I frequently receive by e-mail. Is there any way I could read such documents, or should I get Microsoft Word? If so, which number/level would you advise? (I'm happy with Appleworks.)

Do the problematic Word attachments end in ".doc" or in ".docx"?
Neither AppleWorks 6 nor TextEdit will handle Microsoft's marketing-driven "improved" file format used in Mac Office 2008 / Windows Office 2007 (which is almost-but-not-really based on XML). There's a backwards-compatible option in those versions of Word to "Save As" Word 97 -2004 format (.doc). The practical solution where I work is to track down anyone sending .docx and threaten them with grievous bodily harm unless they resend as .doc and swear to never use .docx again.
Microsoft has a converter that (allegedly) converts the new format to the vastly more common one, but that requires a previous copy of Office (Office 2004 or Office X).
You can try the Mac OS X Dashboard widget DocX Converter instead.

  • Formatting Word document(*.docx) containing pictures, tables, charts, etc.

I've converted a PDF file to Word format(*.docx) successfully. However, as soon as I modify text in the Word document, it has an adverse formatting effect with pictures, charts, tables, etc, in the Word document - the text side of things works perfectly.

Would you send your PDF document to [email protected] as an email attachment?
I will check it from my end. Please add the link to this forum post for reference.

  • Printing Word documents to PDF from Office Web Apps Server 2013 yields inaccessible PDF files

I have Office Web Apps Server 2013 SP1 with March 2015 CU applied. The version shows up as "15.0.4569.1506" using Todd Klindt's
method. When anonymous users view the Word documents online through the Office Web Apps, they have an option to print them to PDF. The PDF file that gets generated as a result isn't accessible
(i.e. it isn't WCAG-compliant). using Adobe Acrobat Pro to check it I can see that it is missing tags, for example. The source Word document was made fully accessible from the point of view of Microsoft Office accessibility tools.
When viewing the same document in Word Online in Office 365, I get an extra option  "Download as PDF". The PDF document produced is accessible. If I save a Word 2013 document as a PDF from within the Word editor, it also generates accessible
    PDF.
I was wondering if the reason for the accessibility problem that I have misconfigured my on-premises Office Web Apps,  or perhaps the accessibility compliance isn't built in yet. If the latter is true, I was wondering if someone could indicate whether
or not this is on the list of upcoming CUs.
    thanks in advance.

Just check my WAC install, no this is likely an Office online only feature, at least at this point in time.

  • How to convert a word document to PDF from a criteria workflow

    Hi,
How to create a new revision in PDF format from a word document inside a criteria workflow? The inbound refinery converts documents to PDF automatically upon check-in, but I want to make the conversion in a specific step of a workflow.
    Thanks,

You could write a custom service and execute it within the workflow script using the executeService Idoc function.

  • How do I Launch a Microsoft WORD Document using AciveX from testStand

    Hello All:
I would like to launch a Word document from within Teststand. I would also like to have the ability to search the document for particular sections of the document. I can not find any sequence file examples that even comes close to demonstrating any of this.
    Thanks...

    Hello Craig,
I have attached an example that will demonstrate this for you. You may need to change the Word Server to match the version of Word that you have installed. This can be done by right clicking on each ActiveX step and select Specify Module. Under Automation Server, scroll down the list to Microsoft Word... and select it.
This is primarily an example to demostrate calling Microsoft Word from TestStand. If you require additional functionality from the Microsoft Word ActiveX server then you should refer to the API reference help for Microsoft Word.
    Hope this helps!
