Offline wlst & /Servers/ servername /SSL/?

Hi,
          We used WSLT to create a wl92 cluster with multiple managed servers. Now I want to change some of the SSL settings for the managed server.
          From what I understand, I am expecting to able able to access a managed server's SSL settings by the following code:
          cd ("/Servers/<servername>/SSL/<servername>")
          ls()
          But what I have in the domain is "/Servers/<servername>/SSL/NO_NAME_0". So I have to do,
          cd ("/Servers/<servername>/SSL/NO_NAME_0")
          ls()
          In the wlst script, I do not want to hard-code the "NO_NAME_0". So I do
          cd ("/Servers/<servername>/SSL")
          I want to get the subdir (NO_NAME_0 or whatever) from here, and then cd to that subdir. Now my question is, what can I use to get the contents of the SSL folder, except ls()? is it possible that the SSL folder may have multiple sub folders or sub items?
          Thanks

Hello,
Sure you can.
This can be done by cd() to the SSL instance and set attr values. Example:
cd('Server/MedRecServer/SSL/MedRecServer')
set('ServerPrivateKeyAlias', 'myalias')
set('ServerPrivateKeyPassPhrase', 'mypassphrase')
thanks,
-satya
I'm new to WLST, so sorry if this has been answered
(I did find anything on this topic will searching).
What I'd like to script is the setup of SSL
parameters in config.xml
such as:
ServerPrivateKeyAlias
ServerPrivateKeyPassPhrase
CustomIdentityKeyStoreFileName
CustomIdentityKeyStorePassPhrase
CustomIdentityKeyStoreType
CustomTrustKeyStoreFileName
etc.
Can this be done with WLST?
Thanks,
Steve Weaver

    There is an existing Bug 8431390 - WLST NOT WORKING IF WE USE NON-DEFAULT INSTALLATION (WL_HOME OUTSIDE BEA_HOME)
    As per this bug, the issue can be reproduced as follows:
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Install WLS 10.3GA (essex) kit in a non-default fashion (WL_HOME outside BEA_HOME)
    2. Go to ur $WL_HOME/common/bin directory and execute wlst.cmd
    3. It exits with the following exception:
    java.lang.RuntimeException:could not find the OffLine WLST class
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem on connect to two servers with SSL

    Hey all!
    I've got a problem with connecting to two different servers via SSL in one Application. Every Connection works fine on its one via SSL.
    But if i try to initialize a new connection it fails every time.
    My thought is that the problem is the DriverManager. I'm not quite sure how this DriverManager works, but what i know is that it's a single-ton Class and with that maybe stores some parameters from the first connection which didn't get reloaded when trying to make a new connection.
    Here's the way i create the connection ..
        String host="best.host.ever";
        int port="3306";
        String MYSQL_URL="jdbc:mysql://"+this.host+":"+this.port+"/";
        DBName="db_foobar";
        sqlProps = new Properties();
        sqlProps.setProperty("user","foo");
        sqlProps.setProperty("password","bar");
        sqlProps.setProperty("zeroDateTimeBehavior","convertToNull");
        sqlProps.setProperty("useSSL","true");
        System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", trustStore);
        System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", "trustpass");
        System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", keyStore);
        System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "keypass");
        System.setProperty("javax.net.debug","ssl");
        printDebug("[Konstruktor] : Connecting to "+MYSQL_URL);
        try {
             Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver").newInstance();
             this.conn = DriverManager.getConnection(MYSQL_URL+DBName,sqlProps);
            connectionCount++;
            initOK=true;
        //Catch stuff following...Is it possible that the System.properties i'm setting are only readed one time by the DriverManager (if it's readed by the DriverManager at all)?
    So when i initialize a new Object with different System.properties they may not get used again.
    Hopefully somebody has an explanation or a solution for this.
    Besides: If i launch the programm twice it's no problem to have to differen SSL connections at the same time.
    Thanks for reading and in advance for trying to help!

    Yep, it's the standard authentication failure message. (The error code is 1045).
    The Exception which is thrown is a SQLException with the message:
    Access denied for user 'username'@'p54BB743D.dip.t-dialin.net' (using password: YES)
    errorcode: 1045
    The code i'm using runs well with one connection and even with multiple connections as long as not more than one connection are using SSL.
    To explain:
    The user has the possibility to run the application with a user defined data-source (the connection). You can add a new connection and the application will then add a tabbed pane with the same gui but uses the other data source then.
    This runs fine with multiple connections (I managed to work on 3 differen intranet servers and 2 different servers online, one of them using SSL)
    So all together 5 Connections. Now i wanted to add a 6th server with SSL two and thats the point where it crashes. (Both SSL Servers run perfect on their own with my application - only both together doesnt work).
    About that: Class.forName, yes i'm using it every time when i make a new Connection. This is wrong? Could you explain why?
    Anyway thanks for your answers so far!

  • Getting the error " [java] Problem invoking WLST - java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find the OffLine WLST class " while building the O2A 2.1.0 PIP

    Getting the error " [java] Problem invoking WLST - java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find the OffLine WLST class " while building the O2A 2.1.0 PIP. I am using the Design Studio 4.3.2 for building the O2A 2.1.0 PIP. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. Here I am enclosing the log file .

    We have basically the same issue when we try to create the interpreter using the embedded method..
    I was able to use the interpreter embedded in a java client as long as the weblogic jars were located in a weblogic install if I tried to use them from a maven repository no luck at all...
    All of this worked easily in 9.2 now in 10.3 it seems more error prone and less documented.
    I have seen close to a 100 posts on issues related to this so is there a document which outlines specifics....
    We / I have used weblogic now for almost 10 years and moving from 8.1 to 9.2 was painful and we expected the move from 9.2 to 10.3 not to be soo bad but its proving to be as painful if not more painful than moving to 9.2. We seem to spend a good bit of our time working around issues in the next new release that were not in the previous one..
    Any help would be appreciated I think we will open a support case but even that is more painful...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated..
    PS: We confirmed that all jars in the startweblogic classpath were in the startup. The server we have the embedded wlst instance is a managed server and we are using the component in a war... Are there any restrictions which we are unaware of.
    Error we get is

    Hi,
    I am confused about this scenario, please help me.
    I keep getting the below when I run the wlst.sh script.
    Problem invoking WLST - java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find the OffLine WLST class
    So what I did was add weblogic.jar to the classpath in the script. But I still get the same error. However, if I run it from the command line without the -D option, I no longer get that error, but get one about abother missing class.

    Hi,
    If you need access to WebLogic container code on top of WLST scripting API such as the scenario where a plain SE Java class needs to call a remote method on a Stateless/Stateful session bean for example - I find it is easier to include the generated wlfullclient.jar - just don't use this jar in an application managed servlet context.
    For non-EE/ejb/web contexts (SE) use wlfullclient.jar generated from
    $WLS_INSTALL\wlserver_10.3\server\lib>java -jar wljarbuilder.jarThen run your client with the above jar in the classpath like
    java -cp .;wls/wlfullclient.jar org.eclipse.persistence.example.distributed.Clientthank you

  • Offline WLST changes JMS Server Target From a Migratable target

    I have a simple WL 9.2mp2 domain which has 2 managed servers, one JMS Server and two migratable targets (one for each managed server) and the JMS server is targeted to one of the migratable targets. When I read the domain into WLST offline, the JMS server's target is changed from the migratable target to the preferred server defined in the migratable target. Is this a bug in WLST? Am I missing some option on WLST that can fix this?
              I saw a similar posting for 8.1 and no resolution.
              Thanks in advance,
              Mark.

    Hi
              Please find my answers below:
              Q1:
              It depends how you configured the JMSSevers.
              If both the JMSServers are targeted to the same MigratableTarget, then you do the migration only once, that will move both of them to the new active server.
              If not, you have to perform the migration once for each MT.
              Q2:
              No, you dont have to start the Managed Server II, unless otherwise you wanted it to be readily available for the migration next time.
              Q3:
              You can just repeat the migration process by specifying the destination as Maganged Server-I this time. You dont need change the configuration for this, since the MT, shall already have the Candidate servers M1 and M2 and both JMSServers are targeted to MT.
              Q4:
              Yes, as long as the CF is targeted to the cluster, your connection is valid. But your destinations references will become invalid after migration, so you have to have some logic in the exception listeners to reconnect again.
              Hope this helps.

  • Do Verizon's POP3 and SMTP servers support SSL?

    The Mail account setup wizard on Mac OS X 10.6.2 successfully added my new verizon.net email account in a couple of easy steps.  During the process, the wizard warned me that my password would be sent in the clear; I told it to continue.
    After successfully sending and receiving test messages, I tried enabling SSL for the incoming and outgoing servers.  At that point, both sending and receiving failed.
    I read the minimalist Support description about email app setup -- no mention of ports or SSL.

  • Domain creation using WLST offline mode

    Hi,
    We are migrating from WL8.1SP5 to WL10MP2. After reading through the various options (WLST online, WLST offline, WLST.configToScript(), and Configuration Wizard) , I have concluded that we will use WLST in offline mode to create domains in our prod, qa, and dev environments. In 8.1 I had a silent script that would create domains for me repeatedly in any environment very easily. I want to map this script into the corresponding SOME_NAME.py script to be used for WL10MP2 domain.
    I have the BEA provided basicWLSDomain.py (please see below) script. I have difficulty in understanding more than half of that script! I know the basic concept is to traverse the MBean tree and creat and/or set parameters. But I do not know which MBean I will need to modify/create.
    Example 1:
    readTemplate("C:/bea/wlserver_10.0/common/templates/domains/wls.jar")
    cd('Servers/AdminServer')
    Q1] I went through http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs90/wlsmbeanref/core/index.html but could not find either ServersMBean or AdminServerMBean.
    Example 2:
    cd('/')
    create('myJMSServer', 'JMSServer')
    cd('/')
    create('myJmsSystemResource', 'JMSSystemResource')
    cd('JMSSystemResource/myJmsSystemResource/JmsResource/NO_NAME_0')
    Q2] What is a JMSSystemResource? (If I remember correctly, there is no such thing in WL8.1)
    Q3] What is JmsResource?
    Example 3:
    cd('/')
    create('myDataSource', 'JDBCSystemResource')
    cd('JDBCSystemResource/myDataSource/JdbcResource/myDataSource')
    create('myJdbcDriverParams','JDBCDriverParams')
    cd('JDBCDriverParams/NO_NAME_0')
    set('DriverName','com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver')
    set('URL','jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost/demo')
    set('PasswordEncrypted', 'PBPUBLIC')
    set('UseXADataSourceInterface', 'false')
    create('myProps','Properties')
    cd('Properties/NO_NAME_0')
    create('user', 'Property')
    cd('Property/user')
    cmo.setValue('PBPUBLIC')
    cd('/JDBCSystemResource/myDataSource/JdbcResource/myDataSource')
    create('myJdbcDataSourceParams','JDBCDataSourceParams')
    cd('JDBCDataSourceParams/NO_NAME_0')
    set('JNDIName', java.lang.String("myDataSource_jndi"))
    cd('/JDBCSystemResource/myDataSource/JdbcResource/myDataSource')
    create('myJdbcConnectionPoolParams','JDBCConnectionPoolParams')
    cd('JDBCConnectionPoolParams/NO_NAME_0')
    set('TestTableName','SYSTABLES')
    Q4] Can you please explain the above snippet line by line?
    Q5] Why are certain attributes set like this --- set('TestTableName','SYSTABLES') while certain attributes like below are set like this -- myq.setJNDIName('jms/myqueue')?
    Example 4:
    myq=create('myQueue','Queue')
    myq.setJNDIName('jms/myqueue')
    myq.setSubDeploymentName('myQueueSubDeployment')
    cd('/')
    cd('JMSSystemResource/myJmsSystemResource')
    create('myQueueSubDeployment', 'SubDeployment')
    Q6] What us a SubDeployment?
    I apologize for the long question. I would greatly appreciate any help!
    Thanks!

    1 - What is the best way to create a schema, for reporting application, during automated domain build process as we need to create new domains from the script and also be able to start and deploy applications on it. which will also require to have db schema for reporting application.
    My suggestion would be to execute the scripts under /neelapu/bea/post31/RC4-samples/osb_10.3/dbscripts/oracle/*.sql with your automated process. OSB requires two simple tables WLI_QS_REPORT_DATA and WLI_QS_REPORT_ATTRIBUTE.
    If reporting is not required then we can modify (I guess) in wlst offline mode to delete the below applications from domain.
    <app-deployment>
    <name>JMS Reporting Provider</name>

    Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11.1.1.6 now includes WLST / Jython / Python support - so if you are new to it, the IDE can help you.
    I don't think your script is correct because in the lookup() method when the datasource does not exist, it does not get assigned to None as your script expects, rather it appears to raise an exception, which your code is currently not catching. Here is what you could try instead.
    datasourceName = 'oracleDS'
    try:
         datasourceBean=lookup(datasourceName,'JDBCSystemResource')
    except:
         print '%s DOES NOT exist' % datasourceName
    else:
         print '%s exists' % datasourceName

  • How to use one certificate for two directory servers?

    Hi,
    running Sun DSEE 6.3.1 on two servers, server 1 has name ds1.example.com, server 2 has name ds2.example.com. There is a round robin DNS record ds.example.com, which alternates between:
    ds1.example.com
    ds2.example.com
    and
    ds2.example.com
    ds1.example.com
    An LDAP client connects to one of the servers over SSL using the name ds.example.com. We want to generate a certificate using the name ds.example.com and use it on both directory servers.
    If we generate a CSR using DSCC on server 1 and get back a signed certificate, the certificate can be installed correctly on server 1. However, if we use the same signed certificate on server 2 it fails with error:
    Unable to find private key for this certificate.
    Failed to add the certificate.
    Error executing the operation. The error code is 11.
    What is the correct way to generate one CSR, have it signed by a CA and then implement this signed certificate on multiple servers?
    /rolf

    From one Directory Server (ds1) generate CSR with the name ds.example.com in the request. Once you get the signed cert import it into the same server you generated CSR with. Then from ds1.example.com :
    scp -p <slapd install/instance path>/alias/* <account>@ds2.example.com:<slapd install/instance path>/alias/
    to copy the contents of the alias path to the same location on the other Directory Server. Make sure file permissions are the same.

  • Problem with WLST in weblogic application server 10.3 on solaris 10 x86

    Hi Friends, I installed Sun Solaris 10 on my desktop x86. I am able to install oracle weblogic application server 10.3.
    I created one domain and I am trying to start AdminServer on that using WLST command.
    Before that , I started the admin server from command as normal start ( nohup ./startWebLogic.sh &) and the server started perfectly alright. After that I was trying to open admin console in firefox browser. It was opening perfectly alright.
    Now I stopped the server and checked no processes which are related to weblogic were running , and then initialized the WLST environment using the script "wlst.sh" , which is at (in my system) /usr/bea/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/wlst.sh. Now the environment had been set and the WLST offline prompt came up.
    Now I used the below WLST scirpt command
    startServer('AdminServer','mydomain','t3://localhost:7001','weblogic','weblogic1');
    and the server started perfectly alright, now what I did was , I started admin console at FireFox browser , it prompted me to enter user name and password , I gave them , and once the login is done, then in my shell window , I am seeing error as

    (1) Environment : Sun Solaris x86
    (2) JDK : sun jdk 1.6._17
    Please help me what I am doing wrong here and please let me know the solution.
    I was trying to install jrockit 1.6 on this since my OS is sun solaris X86 , there is no compatible jrockit version is not there.
    Thanks a lot
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    As you have mentioned in your Post that
    MEM_ARGS="-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m" <---- previously these were 32m and 200m and MaxPermSize
    The Setting you have provided is wrong ...that is the reason you are gettingjava.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space. There is a RRation between PermSize and the maximum Heap Size...
    Just a Bit Explaination:
    Formula:
    (OS Level)Process Size = Java Heap (+) Native Space (+) (2-3% OS related Memory)
    PermSize : It's a Netive Memory Area Outside of the Heap, Where ClassLoading kind of things happens. In an operating System like Windows Default Process Size is 2GB (2048MB) default (It doesnt matter How much RAM do u have 2GB or 4GB or more)...until we dont change it by setting OS level parameter to increase the process size..Usually in OS like Solaris/Linux we get 4GB process size as well.
    Now Lets take the default Process Size=2GB (Windows), Now As you have set the -Xmx512M, we can assume that rest of the memory 1536 Mb is available for Native codes.
    (ProcessSize - HeapSize) = Native (+) (2-3% OS related Memory)
    2048 MB - 512 MB = 1536 MB
    THUMB RULES:
    <h3><font color=red>
    MaxPermSize = (MaxHeapSize/3) ----Very Special Cases
    MaxPermSize = (MaxHeapSize/4) ----Recommended
    </font></h3>
    In your Case -Xmx (Max Heap Size) and -XX:MaxPermSize both were same ....That is the reason you are getting unexpected results. These should be in proper ration.
    What should be the exact setting of these parameters depends on the Environment /Applications etc...
    But Just try -Xmx1024m -Xms1024m -XX:MaxPermSize256m
    Another recommendation for fine tuning always keep (Xmx MaxHeapSize & Xms InitialHeapSize same).
    Thanks

  • Connecting to a remote OpenLDAP server over SSL.

    I've been trying for several weeks now to get a remote OpenLDAP server up and running; configured in such a way that it only allows SSL and requires certificate validation.
    I've created a CA with a self-signed certificate.
    I used that CA to create a server and client certificate.
    The server certificate is in /etc/ssl/certs, has a link by the name of its hash.0 pointing to it; permissions are all correct and /etc/ssl/slapd.conf point to it and the CA certificate.
    The client certificate is on my MacBook Pro in /etc/ssl/certs along with the CA certificate; each of which also has its hash linked to it. /etc/ssl/ldap.conf is set up properly, the permissions are correct, and the following test command ran as my user produces a successful result:
    ldapsearch -v -x -H ldaps://ldap.foo.org -b "dc=foo,dc=org" -d -1
    Now the problem part. I open Directory Utility; go to Services with Advanced Settings enabled. After unlocking it, I click the LDAPv3 and the pencil icon.
    I hit New... in the window that pops up and use ldap.foo.org as servername, SSL box ticked. I hit Continue, and behold; nothing happens.
    It is to say; Directory Utility hangs for a while; after which it goes back to the box I clicked Continue in without any error or warning popping up; but obviously hasn't advanced.
    The server logs indicate my Mac had actually connected; received the server certificate; but didn't send a client certificate at which point the TLS connection got aborted for some reason and the session ended.
    My Mac Console shows something even more bizare, though:
    11/09/08 23:09:22 com.apple.DirectoryServices[97123] Assertion failed: (ld != NULL), function ldapsearchext, file search.c, line 76.
    My suspicion is that Directory Utility can't verify the server certificate and aborts the TLS connection. I expect it also uses /etc/openldap/ldap.conf? How can I diagnose the root of this problem?
    Thanks a lot for your assistance; I just can't figure this out and any hint or pointer would be greatly appreciated. It now just looks like OSX does not support a secure LDAP over SSL configuration.
    Though it currently isn't set up to be that way, I'd like to have my client also provide a certificate (CN=lhunath.foo.org) and have the server validate that. For now I've got the server set to:
    TLSVerifyClient never
    (And of course, the client:)
    TLS_REQCERT demand

    By the way; about the assertion error I get in Console; here's the relevant source of ldap.c. Looks like ld is not set; probably something going wrong before that with setting up the TLS connection, perhaps? Or not?
    * ldapsearchext - initiate an ldap search operation.
    * Parameters:
    * ld LDAP descriptor
    int
    ldapsearchext(
    LDAP *ld,
    assert( ld != NULL );

    Hello,
    finally you run your request from your ERP System about your ICF.
    To establish a SSL Connection to the Web Service target system about an SAP WebAS and ICF, it is necessary to create a certificate on client site about Internet explorer using target URL and importing it on STRUST. Take the junction "SSL-Client (Anonym)" to include your certificate for your system.
    Take a reboot of ICM Monitor.
    Then create a HTTP Connection to rhe external server via SM59 (Typ G).
    Don't forget to configure the following points:
    Under the menu tab Registration&Security:
    - Registration Process: No Registration
    - status of security protocols: activ and ANONYM SSL-Client (Anonym)
    In most cases, you don't need to edit your user data.
    Mostly only then one can usually connect about SAP XI or PI to some servers with SSL method.
