I think that you should look at other ways of solving your problem. At the JVM process level, you will only see the Java byte code being executed. You seem to want something that understands your application. Perhaps you should consider building more logging into your program (and no cryptic logging !!). You could also try capturing all the input from your user, by perhaps logging all the events that go through your event listeners.
There is also another way - it is perhaps a bit way out - you could consider writing your own debug-dll for Java, using the Java debugging interface. In this way you could (perhaps, I have not tried it myself) capture the information you are looking for and relate it to your source code.

My question where is the document that show the integration between OFSA and OBIE Oracle Financial profitability Analytics
in the old version the document say that there is a PLSQL package to make the integration with OFSA to build the data-mart tables and to get the data from OFSA tables to the data-mart tables

I am sorry , there is no 32 bit version for both Premiere pro cc as well as After Effects cc
You may try CS 4 version , but it is not completely tested with Windows 7 OS. .

@chris_l -- yeah I was worried that might be the case, still I'm not sure if that explains why it keeps failing the burn process part way through?
I've tried this and that in Linux but without much luck. I'm still quite a noob with a lot of Linux things and this is the first time I'm trying anything to do with optical disks/drives etc. so I'm learning as I go...
The disk that failed in Windows but was 'readable' in Linux did just pass a run through ddrescue -- i.e. it created an output file okay and did not report any errors in the process.
However when I mounted the resulting image and tried to copy the files across the first folder reported an "input/ouput error" (just using gui copy+paste in Thunar file manager)
...the other folders did copy okay though!
It seems as though it's the lead-in / lead-out and disc finalizing process that are the main fail points with the burn operation. I don't know if InfraRecorder is any good or likely to be the problem? Anyway the drive cam with Nero (inc. Linux version) so might give either or both of these a go too, if they don't work either then at least I wont be short of something to rest a mug o' tea on
@ chris_l (again) -- the Plextor drives do have a "Vari-Rec" feature which allows a user to 'tweak' the laser power / output level so I might try this too.
@alphaniner -- thanks I've not seen this package before, I'm guessing it's a bit like cdparanoia but for dvds?!

LINUX x86 32b vs Solaris 64b - 10.2.0.2 - advice

Soon I am going to have to make a recommendation to my management about whether or not we should migrate from out LINUX32b environment (Dell Poweredge) to Solaris 64b on a SUN server. We are running 10.2.0.2 on RHEL 4 - 32b hughmem kernel. The company I work for has gone through an explosive growth phase in the past year and has outgrown their oracle hardware infrastructure. I have found that running 10.2.0.2 on LINUXx86 has been a nightmare - bug after bug after bug, severe memory leaks - especially running Oracle's ASM. In the past I have always used Sun Solaris and have had very few OS-related problems. My question is - is it just the 10.2.0.2 showing the usual latest release bugginess, or is it the LINUXx86 OS? Is Solaris 64b any better? Does LINUX 64b work OK with 10G? I've been experiencing things like the server completely shutting down unexpectedly - and while no errors were thrown, and nothing showed up on the Dell Dx my gut feeling tells me it happened because an ASM diskgroup ran out of space. This is, of course, intolerable. But, before I push for Solaris, I want to make sure I'm not jumping out of one frying pan into another. Plus - I've found that Oracle's support on the LINUX platform is weak. Any advice or experiences to share?

First thing , that want to say is play safe. Don't jump into conclusion take your to evaluate.
Do you think, you will not get any issue one you move to Solaris ?
Have you applied all the CPU patch ?
Don't use new technologies as soon as it introduce , wait for some time so it become mature. I make Thump rule to keep 1 level below then current version of oracle, but keep eye on all the development and feedback of current version. If very much needed like bug hitting badly and that fixed in new version then only go for new version and always apply CPU patch because it has most of the major known issue fixes.
When world is moving to Linux, you moving to Solaris ( There are some exception , some major database are on TRU 64 / Solaris ). If you have hardware issue go for Linux RAC.
I've found that Oracle's support on the LINUX platform is weak.Its not true , in fact it is observed first patch / release come for Linux only.
and oracle come with his own Linux OEL ( Oracle Enterprise Linux ).

Migrating Oracle 11g from 32b to 64b

I figured I could use rman to do a full backup, including the archive files, control file, and SPFILE, and datafiles of the 32 bit version, and restore to a 64 bit OS.
But will that work? Are there docs on how to restore 32b backups to a 64b environment?

This procedure is for single instance or RAC:
In the 32 bit source server :
Make a full backup of database including all archivelogs
RMAN> run
allocate channel c1 type disk;
allocate channel c2 type disk;
backup database plus archivelog;
backup current controlfile;
} To do on the target 64 bit server:
1) Copy backup files from source server
2) Create the pfile or copy the pfile fromsourceserver
3) Startup nomount the new instance.
4) Connect to rman and set the dbid:
$ rman target / nocatalog
RMAN> set dbid=<dbid from 32 server>; 5) Restore the controlfile:
RMAN> restore controlfile from '/disk1/backup_32/backup_piece_name';
RMAN> alter database mount;
RMAN> restore database; 6) Identify the archivelog till you want to do the recovery and check if you have all the backups you need to do it, and run:
RMAN> run
set until sequence xxxx;
recover database;
RMAN> exit 7) Now Migrating to 64 bit:
SQL> recover database until cancel using backup controlfile;
cancel
SQL> alter database open resetlogs migrate;
SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlirp.sql
SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

Note that you do not need a Vnc client to create a display. Only the Vnc server component. So tightvnc is not needed.
Assuming that vnc-server is not installed, it should install with its dependencies (X11 rpm's).
If you create a server display and connect to it (from Windows or wherever else), and there is simply a "blank" screen (no xterm or windows menu), then you need to install a Window Manager. The most basic/lightweight one is Tabbed Window Manager - yum install twm.
You will then also likely need a xterm - install it using yum install xterm.
The Vnc server display you create, uses the +$HOME/.vnc/xstartup+ for starting X11 window manager and s/w in the virtual display. Easy to edit and modify should you want to install and use another window manager (like KDE or Gnome for example).

Q1: I have gone through the installation guide of OFSA 4.5 server centric, which says OFSA can only be install on Unix platforms AIX requires IBM hardware , Solaris 7 requires SPARC 32bit hardware whereas HP-UX requires HP Compaq machine, my question is , can we install OFSA server on x86 based platform whether it is Windows x86, Solaris x86 or Linux x86?? if yes then how??
Q2: Similarly OFSA client may install on WIN NT 4.0 / 95/98 can the client install on Windows 32 bit OS like XP/2000 Advanced Server / 2003 enterprise server??
Q3: Can i only install OFDM (Oracle Financial Data Manager) financial model instead of installing whole application?

OK - now I am trying to do this as well. My agenda is to learn a bit documentation first (at least installation requirements) then do the installation itself.
Up to now I have found, that Financial Services Applications sits under the E-business suite directory in the edelivery. Problem is that for Windows there is only part of OFSA media, full OFSA is for some enterprise scales servers like HP or Solaris SPARC only (even not for Linux). I am investigating whether it is possible to use OFSA on some virutal machince that runs on the Winodws host operating system. Up to now I have found that there is no support in VMWare products for this, but there is transitive.com (now - part of IBM), that was capable of this kind of virtualization and people in the forums are saying that it was not so expansive. Unfortunately - their representatives said to me that IBM has acquired transitive and discontinued their QuickTransit product line. I have not managed to find the relevant virtualization product from IBM either. There is quemu emulator, but people are saying that it is not capable to emulate sparc environment.
Well - but in the media pack A89131-01 (server installation, it sits in edelivery under media for Sun sparc) there is directory with name 'linux-intel' it sound as it sounds - very promising, maybe it is worth to try it.
Another question - it seems to me that OSFA 4.5 is very old - certified for Oracle 8 database - so - is it possible to run it under Oracle 10 or 11 and the newest Application server?

Hi Karan,
OFSAA applications read data extracted from legacy sources and save results in the OFSAA results tables. Old OFSAA versions (named OFSA) had a series of Discoverer reports but these reports were not very userful so they were not generally used.
OFSAA has optional modules for reporting / analysis of the generated result data: ALM Analytics and Profitability Analytics, both built over OBIEE.
Experienced users could built queries for viewing results. Other users not so experienced need a tool for reporting. It could be any reporting/analysis tool, but the advantage of the analtical modules is that the ETL from OFSA to OBI is done. Otherwise, you need to know what and where to find.
Profitability Management lets you define the rules for distributing income and expenses. You can define and build the Profitability Model for calculating the corporate profitability. Profitability Analytics is just a series of dashboards for analying the results.

Is there a way to open two months at the same time in iCal?

I have recurring events for every month in 2009 and want to replicate them in 2010. I do not want to just extend the stop date because there will be subtle changes to the 2010 items that I do not want changed in the 2009 versions. I would ideally like to open Jan 2009 and Jan 2010 next to each other and copy the 2009 event to the 2010 calendar (the appointment copy does not copy the recurrence info which is good). Is there a way to show either two instances of iCal running or 2 month windows?

If you activate iCal's Debug menu, you should find it has a 'New Calendar Window' option (Cmd-L). It is a bit of a knack to cutting and pasting correctly between windows.

If it's iTunes music, it has your personal ID embedded into the song files. Most IT techs know this though.

Take your personal info out of the machine and if you need it, burn cd/dvd copies, a few USB thumb drives, Iron Keys or self encrypting external storage drives with key and/or keypad.
