Is there a way of getting a "schedule view" in iCal on a mac and on iPad in the same way you can get one on iPhone?

IS there a way to get a schedule view of events on a busy day in iCal on the iPad 2 Air and on the Macbook Pro? I can get this view on an iPhone.

I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks) or share some of my personal information (scanned copies of my birth certificate, passport, certificates, photos, etc.) on the web.
If you put your info into the computer and hand it to another, you have to assume they will copy everything.
Why are you putting scanned copies of valuable identity information into a computer than can be hacked, stolen, lost or compromised by a dirty tech?

Is there a way of finding out what activity has taken place whilst they've had it in their possession?
No. The tech would just deny it if he did, or tell the truth which the answer would be "NO" in either case.
The employer won't ask that sort of questions without solid proof, less they make a enemy of the employee and/or risk being sued for defamation of character.
It's not like they bother to have a team of people watching over his shoulder that he doesn't stick a USB thumb drive of your data into his pocket to take home.

If it's iTunes music, it has your personal ID embedded into the song files. Most IT techs know this though.

Too late now, all you can do is not worry about it.
Take your personal info out of the machine and if you need it, burn cd/dvd copies, a few USB thumb drives, Iron Keys or self encrypting external storage drives with key and/or keypad.

You can consider to use Firefox Sync to sync all the profiles.
You can do a custom install of each version and install each version in its own program folder.<br />
Safest is to modify the desktop shortcut and add -P "profile name" to the command line to start each version with its own profile.<br />

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

The only thing I can see strange is that when I login my iCloud account through my principal email address, when I check my preferences is marked an @me.com address that is old and I don't use it anymore, but I can't erase it or even change it.

On the iPad:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Uncheck your phone number from both sections
To turn it off completely:
Settings > Messages > turn off iMessage

when you restart the machine, make sure you uncheck the "reopen windows" check box, and see if that helps.

You can open the open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" and drag the home button to where you want it to appear.

So true! I have to agree: "It appears Reminders in 10.8 did not get a whole lot of thought put into it regarding how folks actually use reminders."
With Mountain Lion, Reminders no longer resembles a task-management (to-do) app in any way. I used to be able to limp along using it for my to-dos (although it never did accommodate this need well). This upgrade has made Reminders completely unusable for task management.
Once I got over my disappointment, I did some research and decided to try "Things." This application has all the functionality I've been wanting all along. It has a Mac version, an iPhone version, and an iPad version (among others)--and it keeps all devices synched via the Cloud (just not the iCloud ... but who needs the i ?). I wish I'd discovered it years ago. I'm glad now that Mountain Lion put Reminders over the edge; otherwise, I would not have made this discovery.
"Things" (oddly named though it is) comes close to the old Franklin planner software I used to love and haven't been able to find a substitute for. It can import items from Reminders, and it works with Siri. It's a joy to use, and it does everything I want it to do plus some things I never thought of and will use all the time. How do I get books to sync between ibooks on my Mac and my iPad?

I recently purchased an ebook from a source outside of the IBooks store (ePub). I loaded it into the IBooks app on my Mac and I can open and read it there but it does not appear on my iPad. I'm using Mavericks and from what I've researched I think that I have it set up correctly to sync...but the book will not sync. Any hints?

Another options is to have an app like Dropbox on your iPad and Mac and transfer to the iPad that way.
It will transfer to the iPad and should offer you ooption to open your ePub.
If you intend to add more nonne iBooks store ePubs, I suggest you download a decent Free Books app and Dropbox will detetct it and offer as an option to open your book.

Hello i just bought an iPod Nano 7th gen and it got crushed the same day. Can i get a replacement?

I went to walmart and bought a 16 gb silver nano 7th gen. Upon paying for it i regretfully said no when they offered me insurance or w/e it is. So i go home, charge it and upload my music to it and head out to the gym.
Now i know most of you are gonna think i crushed it with some weights but nope. When i finished my workout i left and got on my car. When i closed the door it bounced back and i heard a crush. I look down and it appears the ipod fell out of my pocket and it got destroyed. It still turns on but the mteal is bent, the screen is all tiny shards of glass and the image behind the glass is all messed up now.
A little vent here but i honestly have the worst luck ever.
Now is it possible to get a replacement somehow?

Getting Logic master to send to both 1-2 and 3-4 at the same time

I have an native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 'sound card' that I'm running 2 different sets of M-Audio monitors off of. My question i, can I run the master output to both 1-2 and 3-4 at the same time so I can easily check mixes on both sets of speakers without changing every single tracks output?
Also, is this possible to do in iTunes also? I can find nothing in Logic (or anywhere) that will allow this and I initially thought my device was broken until I simply choose 3-4instead of 1-2.

How about routing all the outputs that are currently on Output 1-2 to a bus first then:
Option 1: Switching that bus's output between outputs 1-2 and 3-4 (for A/B comparisons)
or
Option 2: Use the Send on that bus's output to another bus, route that second bus's output to 3-4 (so both busses are sending audio to both sets of speakers simultaneously).
As an alternative, the Mackie Big Knob is a great hardware solution for routing a signal to 3 sets of speakers, allowing you to switch among them with simple button presses.

How good are the internet connections you are using?
I've found that a faster connection improves the quality tremendously. I regularly Skype from France to Australia using a 20mb connection (France) and 8mb connection (Australia) and the quality is superb most of the time. When I only had a 1mb connection the call quality was often quite poor.
I've only ever used the free service so I'm not sure paying would make any difference.

Rental movies-you can get refunds

Ok so for those of you who rented movies thinking that you could play them on the 5th Gen., You can get a refund. when logged into itunes store, click on the movie rented and email customer service for a refund.

I must not be understanding what you mean. I don't see any way from the movie to email customer support or get a quick refund. I am more disappointed than I can say with Apple not just over this - just the latest Microsoftism from Apple. They had to know this would infuriate owners with barely year-old video iPods. They should have made it both more obvious that we were screwed and more easy to rectify that we are screwed. They really don't seem to care any more. I may be buying my first ever non-Apple machines soon since there is less and less reason to stay Apple after 25+ years of loyal enthusiasm toward them.

Can I make basic adjustments to RAW files in PS the same way I do with jpgs using levels+clone tool?

I have basic knowledge of photoshop and normally just work with Jpegs. I need to edit some RAW files can I open them in Photoshop and work on them the same way as jpegs. I would only need to do some basic levels adjustments and use the clone tool. Is photoshop the best application to use for editing raw files?

Starting with RAW affords you more toning flexibility with white-balance and white/black points, and more sharpening and noise-reduction flexibility, than starting with JPGs where the camera has taken care of such things and the adjustments are baked in and cannot be changed.
The camera-raw plug-in for Photoshop is very good for working with individual raw files. If you are switching your photography from JPG to RAW then Lightroom has the same adjustments as the PS CR plug-in but is more efficient when working with many files compared to Bridge and Photoshop.
Personally, because I shoot only RAW photos, now, I switched from using PS/CR to LR quite a few years ago, and rarely go to PS anymore. Since you are used to PS, your old habits will probably still be with you, so you may find yourself doing a minimal amount of editing in CR.
Because you’re are dealing with RAW sensor data, you will want to pay attention to the WB and black/white points as well as sharpening and noise-reduction before opening the RAW files in PS for your normal PS adjustments.
