OFT- Recording Application which require User Authentication

hi,
I have recorded the application which requires user authentication and once the recording has been done i have logout from the application. and now if i playback the script ,then again it will playback from the login page.
So according to my opinion,it should skip the login page at the time of playback the script. But it is not. So what would be the reason for that?

Actually i have a confusion regarding this note given in the "OFTFunctionalTestingUserGuide pdf"
"If you record a Visual Script with a login Web page (not a popup dialog box), which may not reappear when you revisit the site due a session cookie, Oracle Functional Testing for Web Applications recognizes the cookie and skips the login page during playback. Oracle Functional Testing for Web Applications logs a message indicating the
login page was skipped and playback continues with the next page."
If i m not wrong, when we record the process of visiting the pages on the site from login to log out from the site.
and when we run the playback scirpt it should be not start from the login page as per the above mentioned note.
Could u please help me to understand the fact given on the note.

I have MDS web application on one server and MDS DB on another, both in same domain .
MDS web application is created as new website on same IIS with SharePoint and have their own port assign
In IIS Windows Authentication is added and enabled.
Users do have function permission and module enabled.
MDS is accessible only on server where web application is.
When it is accessed from any computer within domain error is
Not Authorized

Hi Zorko,
The issue may happen in case:
1. The Master Data Service(MDS) web application is running under a domain user account
2. You didn't register a Service Principal Name(SPN) for the account
3. You are using fully qualified domain name(FQDN) or host name to access the MDS
4. You are able to access the MDS by IP address(http://<ip address>)
If I am right, it is because of the browser choose to use Kerberos authentication to connect to the MDS.
So then, to fix the issue, please:
Register SPN for the application pool account. Enable the delegation.
Or, please force the web site to use NTLM authentication only.

Applet re-required user authentication on webapp realm

I have developed a webapp restricted to known users via BASIC authentication realm. one of these html pages contains an APPLET which is loaded correctly,
but then asks the user for userid and password again (i have to enter the same username password as i logged onto the webapp before).
I assume this comes because the applet is located within the restricted webapp context - is there any chance to turn off the duplicate authentication via applet??????

Think java version 1.4.0 could do some authentication but did not share it with
the browser. A later version should share auth with the browser, meaning if
the browser authenticates then so does the jre. They also share the session
so forms auth would work as well.
Try to open the java control panel General -> network -> network settings -> use browser settings

Installing Applications not requiring user name and password?

Hi, I'm experiencing the bug that everyone is experiencing where my suer doesn't have administrative rights to my computer. But I seem to be operating fine.
The question I have is, should I be able to install applications without a username or password? When I just installed Adobe Flash Player 9 on my computer (downloaded from Adobe) it didn't require a username or password. Has anyone else experienced this? I have always been asked for it in the past. What is up with that?

This was an fresh install of Leopard without any historical data. I did restore my backed up my documents folder once leopard was installed but that was it. It seemed this all started when I tried to install some software and discovered that I no longer had an administrative user for my computer. Regardless it does concern me that there is a way for software to be installed into Leopard under the right circumstances. I finally was able to get my user back to admin rights via a workaround where I enable the "root" user. Anyway I finally gave up and went back to Tiger (luckily have been doing regular back-ups of my data). I am going to report these bugs to Apple or try to anyway. I'm just frustrated that things went so bad so quickly and I don't feel like I was doing anything out of the ordinary with my computer. I have done first installs of mac OS's the week they came out in the past and have never seen anything like this.

I have a multi records blocks and I want to ask if the user want to save his changes before going on another record. Is it possible in the when-mouse-click to obtain the record on which the user was precedently and verify if it is the same that he his on now ? If it's not the same, we ask the question.

using when-mouse-click is not a good place, because the user can change records and blocks by using the Tab or Enter keys and the up or down-arrow keys.
Why not use the When-validate-record trigger? It runs whenever the user leaves the record, no matter how, and does NOT run if the user has not changed anything. You could prompt the user about saving, but you could not post or commit from the trigger. That would need to be done by starting a non-repeating timer (for maybe 20 milliseconds), then doing the post or commit once the timer expired.

Dynamic User Authentication in JSF, ADF BC Application

I have developed a JSF, ADF BC Application using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. My application consists of jspx pages and I also have to integrate some existing oracle forms with it using OraFormsFaces library.
I have successfully used custom DBProcLogin Module by Frank to authenticate the users with the help of a stored procedure and user credentials stored in database tables.
During integrating Oracle Forms I realised that some of these oracle forms use get_application_property(username) to retreive connected user information. All of the users which are stored in database tables are also oracle users with the same credentials as stored in database tables. The existing oracle forms based application was connecting to Oracle every time with different provided user credentials each time and therefore returning correct (required) user name information.
Now since I have used DBProcLogin Module in new ADF application, when I run it, user is successfully authenticated but get_application_property(username) in the existing oracle forms returns the user name that application module is using to connect with the database. To make it work correctly, I want my ADF application to connect to oracle database with different user each time.
I have searched and seen topics such as, Dynamic JDBC Credentials, Database Proxy Users etc. But I am confused with the width and depth of this much information available. Therefore, I thought I may get some advice from the experts present in the forum that which of the techniques will go best with my application.
Keeping in view the scenario that I have provided, can someone please guide me to the best suitable technique and the related information/documentation?

Note that what you try to do will create a dedicated connection for Forms and ADF, which means that 100 users will have 200 database connections open.

SAP BI and BO SDK Application user authentication (SSO)

We have a requirement where we have to schedule reports from Enterprise Portal(From a webdynpro application). To achieve this we have created custom Java application using Businessobjects SDK. The Java application needs username and password for authentication. As of now we have hardcoded a Admin user and pw in the code but this is not acceptable as different users have different authorization.
My Question is "Can we pass any authentication related token from Enterprise Portal to these custom java application for authentication?" I have read somewhere that SAP Logon Ticket is used for authentication. Is there any way to capture this ticket and passed to the custom java application. Is it possible to pass such token using function module/ABAP and use it in BO SDK for creating sessions ??
The java application is hosted on BO server.
We are using BusinessObjects XI 4.0 and SAP BI 7.0

purpose.

SCOM 2012 R2 - How to create a Web Application Monitor for an URL requiring certificate authentication

It looks like in SCOM 2012 there are two ways to monitor a web application (URL monitoring):
Way no 1: (Using the Web Application Transaction Monitoring template)
Way no 2: (Using the Web
Application Availability Monitoring template)
We have created some monitors using
Web Application Availability Monitoring to check if URL is up without any authentication method.
However, we have few URLs for which we need Client Certificates to be used for accessing them but found no option in SCOM 2012 to configured the certificates.
I have searched a lot on the Tech Net library but no clue. Does anyone know how to successfully monitor an URL requiring certificate authentication on SCOM 2012 ? or, at least, using no matter which method?

Based on my research, it is not possible by using the built-in monitoring templates. Both of them handles “normal”, server-side, SSL-certs, and the transaction monitor handles basic/digest/NTLM authentication, but client certificate based authentication
is not a configurable option.

The User Authentication Methode required by this server can't be found.

Ok, I have a network of iMacs that are bound to OS X Server and the users log in with network based user folders via Kerberos and Open Directory.
This is all working just fine, and all iMac users have full access to all sheared volumes as per the ACLs...
My problem is when any of our office laptops that are not bound to the server and run on local user accounts need to login for access to the AFP shared volumes. ALL but one of these Laptops are receiving "The User Authentication Methode required by this server can't be found." Dialog box when attempting to login. They never even have a chance to enter login names or passwords.
What am I missing? I can't find any settings on this one laptop user account that are any different that the other laptops user accounts...

I opened it on the one laptop that is working and can see one ticket in the Ticket Cache, and below that there is the same ticket listed with two subentries. All of them are listed as Expired at the moment, but then I have not connected to the server with this system since yesterday...
When I open the App on the systems that don;t work, there are no tickets listed. I clicked on the new button, but the info it's asking for is different than any of the info I found in the working systems Kerberos app... ??? Help.
It's asking for Name, Realm, Password...

HTTP PROXY: Twice User Authentication Required! Why?

Each time, FF pops 2 boxes to require the authentication.
The first time the pop-up window says: The proxy moz-proxy://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:**** is requesting a username and password. The site says: "'''moz-proxy://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:****'''"
If I type the username/password into the 1st windows. It is wrong. And the same windows box pops. I have to click the cancel button. And then...

I fill the username and password into it, it works well.
Does anyone know the reason why it work in this way!

The 'use no proxy solution' is not an option here (at work) because without the proxy settings I cannot get on the internet.
Searching for this 'nag' I found that it first appeared when FF ver 4.x was introduced. After several updates it disappeared for a while until now..... Which bug has been reintroduced???

BSP Application Login : User Authentication

Hi All,
We have a particular BSP application which we want to open up to the world without any authorization checks/password entries etc. Anybody who knows the URL should be able to access the link without any restrictions. But when I try to access the link it pops me up a logon pad. I am sure this is not from my BSP code. What are the steps I need to take to make sure users dont have to go through without needing to log in?
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

You can achieve this functionality by giving the logon information in the BSP service directly in Trabnsaction SICF and then navigating to the path sap->bc->bsp-><bspname>. If this is the case then all the users who access this BSP will be logged in with user that is mentioned on that BSP service.

You can use the mechanisms built into the AMF protocol, or manage the session manually by passing around an authentication token generated on the server.

It's written for BlazeDS, but the principal is the same.

Need end user application system requirements

I am writing a proposal for developing an end user DLL or standalone application, using LabVIEW 7 and IMAQ vision. I need to paste in an electronic copy of a description, preferably from NI itself, of what system the user will need, including RAM and disk space requirements, operating system, etc. The software would be developed and tested only on a Windows 2000 machine. This electronic document would be something like the release notes from the LabVIEW Application Builder. Got a URL or something to send by email?

The Release Notes say:
"When you deploy an application you build, the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine requires a minimum of 64 MB of RAM and a screen resolution of 800 × 600 pixels for applications that require a screen, but National Instruments recommends 256 MB of RAM and a screen resolution of 1,024 × 768 pixels."
And on Windows, "The LabVIEW Run-Time Engine requires at least 25 MB of disk space, but National Instruments recommends 155 MB of disk space if you install the default drivers from the National Instruments Device Drivers CD."

Flash is not, and probably never will be, supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus it would be up to Adobe to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, something which they have never managed to do and which they have now given up on trying to do.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so your could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app).
