OHW-RC and Glassfish

Hi,
I'm trying to get the OHW-RC running on my Glassfish 3.1.2.2 server. After fixing the invalid web.xml, I managed to deploy and open it, but pressing any of the navigation items refreshes the application to its starting state - the welcome page. The glassfish log shows the following SEVERE message whenever that happens:
[#|2014-01-09T13:32:26.286+0200|SEVERE|glassfish3.1.2|oracle.adfinternal.view. - Pastebin.com
The ohw-rc libraries are closed source so I can't really track down the problem. Perhaps someone else has been in a similar situation?
I'm using JDeveloper 12c (not that it matters), Glassfish 3.1.2.2 and Oracle Help 12.1.2.0 (tried ohw-rcf-demo-thin.ear and ohw-rcf-demo-thick.ear for same results).
Thanks in advance,
Tomas

Bumping. I still haven't found a solution for this.

  • Jena adapter and glassfish

    I have been trying to get the Jena adapter , joseki and glassfish to work with 11g.
    No success so far. Glassfish just throws an error because somewhere in the code there is a cast to (OracleConnection) that is incorrect.
    My glassfish connection pool is setup using oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource.
    Has anyone got any ideas ?

    Hi, I managed to get Joseki working on Tomcat 6 with just this META-INF/context.xml file (no <resource-ref> section in web.xml needed):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Context>
    <Resource name="OracleSemDS"
         auth="Container"
         type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
         factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
         user="rdfuser"
         password="rdfuser"
         driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
         url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@ec2-184-72-150-221:1521:tseval"
         validationQuery="select 1 from dual"
         maxActive="10"
         maxIdle="2"/>
    </Context>
    However, it took a patched version of the sdordfclient.jar to get it working, the problem being that, in accordance with the J2EE spec, Tomcat (and Glassfish as well, I believe) puts the datasource in the "java:comp/env" JNDI namespace. The sdordfclient.jar has code responsible for finding that datasource but looks for it under simply "OracleSemDS".
    your context.xml file looks good, I'll bet if you dig around, you'll find that "java:comp/env/OracleSemDS" is bound in Tomcat, you just need a sdordfclient.jar that is looking for it there.

  • Sorry :Some Bad words for NetBeans 6.1 and GlassFish v2

    Hi All,
    I am really very sorry that i m going to use such bad words that i should not .But still i m doing so .
    Netbeans 6.1 and Glassfish v2 Server is the worst and very malfunctioning products from the basket of Sun.Neither proper documentation is available nor proper support .These are too slow as well .My company people are pushing me to use JBoss AS(which is looking very good this time.Earlier i hated that ) but i liked to go to with Glassfish .But failed
    I tried to explore too much information but couldn't get .I am getting it why Sun Microsystem provided very less information in its website as well .
    Any way ,i m going to omit both these products (must say the most worst products ) of Sun Microsystem .
    I appreciate the efforts of all the Engineers behind these products but condemn the documentation team which failed to provide the proper documentation .
    Good Bye ......
    (I will omit these latest by friday if donot get any response )

    Sorry to hear about your experience. Please let us know what went wrong. We will help.

  • CS7u2 and Glassfish 2.1.1 with HADB: Configuration Problem

    Hi all,
    I´m trying to setup a HA configuration with Calendar 7 u2 and Glassfish 2.1.1, I´m using the notes from: https://wikis.oracle.com/display/CommSuite/Making+Calendar+Server+Highly+Available
    But there are not accurate enough. So far, I managed to build and run the cluster: dav-cluster but I have some doubts with the calendar init-config script, particularly with these questions:
    Enter Application Server Instance Name [server] {"<" goes back, "!" exits}: dav-cluster
    Enter Virtual Server Identifier [server] {"<" goes back, "!" exits}: dav-cluster
    What should I answer?
    I follow the wiki and I´m using these configuration:
    dav-cluster ---> HADB cluster
    dav-agent-1 --> agent nodes
    dav-agent-2
    instance1 --> instances
    instance2
    Does anybody have experience with these kind of configuration?
    I appreciate any comments.
    Thanks in advanced.

    I believe you should keep the virtual server identifier as server, only change the target instance to dav-cluster.
    Enter Application Server Instance Name [server] {"<"!" exits}: dav-cluster
    Enter Virtual Server Identifier [server] {"<" goes back, "!" exits}: server
    Please give that a try.

  • Java Studio Creator 2 update 1 and Glassfish

    Hi All,
    I've created a simple application with the latest version of Creator: a JSP page which shows a table component which retrieves data from a configured datasource. Using the bundled application server all works well.
    Now, exporting the war file and deplying it to Glassfish application server the table is rendered with "No items found". I'm sure to have configured in Glassfish the datasource (a derby database) and pinging it from the admin console works correctly. Server log files don't trace warnings o errors! :-( Any idea? Anyone has faced a similar problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Antonio

    I have the same problem. After some testing I found
    that the init() method wasn't being called in
    glassfish. Why I do not know and I haven't had any
    reply to my posts on this board or the glassfish one
    concerning the problem.Yes, that's the problem. The JSF 1.2 reference implementation changed the way how they initialize stuff on us:-( A bug has been filed and it should already be fixed in the latest nightly builds of GlassFish.
    But it did not make it into the current FCS branch:-( There will be a patch shortly after.
    So if you can, please try to get the latest nightly of GlassFish and try it.
    Sorry, that nobody from our side has responded to your other thread:-( I know I forwarded it to our component people to look into it and it helped in finding the underlaying cause.
    Thanks,
    -- Marco

  • Oracle jms and glassfish

    Problem: glassfish (J2EE Sun Java Aplication Server) have to receive JMS messages about updates of the table in oracle
    Please help me configure oracle services and aplication server to solve this problem!

    Any specific reasons you want to use Glassfish and not Oracle Application Server? Oracle ships a Generic JMS Resource Adapter that you may use with Glassfish

  • NEW SESSION - Firefox, IE and GLASSFISH

    Hi all,
    Here is my issue:
    I have One application on Glassfish using EJB3,JPA and JSF.
    Users can log to this application and have severals sessions opened simultanoulsy as each session is having a connection to its own database
    How do I force a new session (particularly in Firefox as IE<=8 has no issue) and have the user using the same application but different databases in different tabs or windows of Firefox.
    I tried almost all and get blocked
    Many thanks in advance for your answers
    Nicog

    Hi BalusC
    Great Blog by the way...
    Let me explain.
    My architecture is as follows: using JSF, Glassfish and ...SQL Server!! (! i know but this is mandatory requirement as our application is full web version of an existing ERP application already sold and installed by more than 1000 of our customers...
    I am using
    JSF-->JSF Managed Bean (Session for some and Request for almost all when logged )-->EJB Interface-->EJB Impl-->Entity-->Database
    I have a persistence Unit (using JTA and CMP) per database , each using a connection pool managed by Glassfish.
    At the begining of my application, the user (when logging), choose a database, ...enter logging info and connect.
    All databases have the schema but not the same data
    You have to see in our case, a database as a company with particular configuration, customers, orders, invoices, contacts....
    Our application is ERP that our customers uses to managed several companies simultanously .
    Also, I need Session Scope as there is configuration data that I need to keep over all pages.
    This configuration data is depending on the database connected to.
    When selecting the database (company) for combo in logging form, The only way I found is fisrt to check is database(company) exists and can be connect to using at first begining Persistence.CreateEntityMangerFactory.. (i know that this is not J2EE and CMP but merly used in Java SE environments..).
    This step is only used for checking database
    Then, if creation did not generate a Persistence Exception , I can the use CMP and an EnityManger in EJB by JNDI lookup (as DI is not possible because you need constant in unitName)
    ex :
    @PersistenceContexts({
       @PersistenceContext(name="pu/SOCIETE1", unitName="SOCIETE1"),
       @PersistenceContext(name="pu/SOCIETE2", unitName="SOCIETE2"),
       @PersistenceContext(name="pu/SOCIETE3", unitName="SOCIETE3"),
       @PersistenceContext(name="pu/SOCIETE4", unitName="SOCIETE4"),
       @PersistenceContext(name="pu/SOCIETE5", unitName="SOCIETE5"),
       @PersistenceContext(name="pu/GENESYS_EXEMPLE", unitName="GENESYS_EXEMPLE")
    @Stateless
    public class SomeEJB extends CommonEjbImpl implements SomeEJBLocal  {
        private EntityManager em;
        @PostConstruct
        public void init() {
             String puName = (String) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getSessionMap().get("database"));
             em = (EntityManager) new InitialContext().lookup("java:comp/env/pu/"+puName);
        @PreDestroy
        public void cleanup() {
            if (em != null && em.isOpen()) {
                em.close();
    }All works perfectly under IE6,IE7 and IE8 (forcing some parameter at launch of IE8).
    But due to session management of Firefox (sharing session cookie among all exe or tabs)...session data is kept when opening a new tab.
    What I did to avoid confilcts, is to clear FacesContext SessionMap when redirecting to Login page ...but i still can NOT log to multiple PU simultanously....
    I do not see where DAO pattern could help me ...
    Am I missing something here?
    Many thanks in advance for your quick answer
    Regards,
    Nicog

  • RMI-IIOP and glassfish naming service

    I have some very basic test applications to test RMI-IIOP. The applications are one server (registers the Remote object) and one client (tries to retreive the remote object stub and invoke a simple hello() method).
    I've been trying to get it to work by registering the Remote object (see below) in glassfish naming service (JNDI) but I get the following an error saying: "Class rmi.ListenerRemoteImpl not exported, or else is actually a JRMP stub". I haven't been able to figure out why...
    Then I found another guide which I followed and managed to get to work. The only difference there was that I used orbd as naming service.
    Why is this? Doesn't Glassfish JNDI support RMI-IIOP in this way?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    I followed the following steps in creating the application:
    -Created the following classes:
    Client.java //The client
    Server.java //The server
    ListenerRemote.java //Remote interface implementing Remote
    ListenerRemoteImpl.java //Implemtation extends PortableRemoteObject and implements ListenerRemote
    -Generated stubs with rmic using -iiop
    -Compile and run...

    Here is some of the code...
    Client that fails with glassfish but not with orbd:
    =========================================
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
    ListenerRemoteImpl listener = new ListenerRemoteImpl();
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.load(new FileInputStream("jndi.properties"));
    //Uncommenting this and starting orbd makes it work. When default jndi.properties from Glassfish is used, it does not work.
    //props.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
    //props.put("java.naming.provider.url", "iiop://localhost:1060");
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(props);
    ctx.rebind("listener", listener);
    System.out.println("Listener bound!");
    ==================================
    ListenerRemoteImpl:
    ==================================
    public class ListenerRemoteImpl extends PortableRemoteObject implements ListenerRemote {
    public ListenerRemoteImpl() throws RemoteException {
    super();
    public void sayHello() throws RemoteException {
    System.out.println("Hello!");
    ==================================
    The stacktrace when glassfish naming service is used:

  • Difficulty with ADF Faces/ADF Essentials and Glassfish

    Hi all,
    I've got a web application written with ADF Faces, and it runs just fine within jDeveloper 11.1.2.3 but when I deploy it to Glassfish 3.1.2 (with ADF Essentials installed) something curious happens.
    My application has no difficulty performing database reads, but when it tried to write to the database and commit, it fails.
    I've seen only a couple of other people with this problem, and none of them seem to have found a solution - so I'm assuming it's something stupid that I'm doing or misunderstanding.

    if anyone can give a clue to what I'm misunderstanding I'd really appreciate it.  I'm sure that if I had the course for BaseSQLBuilderImpl.java and/or DBTransactionImpl it would be easier to see what the actual error was - unfortunately java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError cannot be cast to java.lang.Exception doesn't tell me much of anything.
    Thanks so much to anyone who's got the time/knowledge to help.
    Bob

    That doesn't seem to make any difference.  It works just fine within jDeveloper, but as soon as I deploy it, I can no longer write to the database.
    A few more details that seem relevant - it's not only this method that fails.  Even on screens which were designed without any backing code (where I used the wizards to create my forms and commit buttons) the same exact thing happens.
    I've also replicated this behavior in Tomcat.
    Part of what is happening is that something is throwing a NoClassDefFoundError, which is caught by a catch (Throwable thEx) clause within DBTransactionImpl.  This passes the Error to a method (isSQLRecoverableException) within the BaseSQLBuilderImpl class.  The problem is that this method takes only Exceptions for arguments, and NoClassDefFoundError is not a subclass of Exception (only of Throwable.)
    It seems obvious to me that there's somewhere a jar missing, but I cannot find it without knowing which class was not found.

  • Where to find info about JNDI and Glassfish 3.1.2?

    Hello,
    i am searching already long time to find information on how to find e.g. an EntityManagerFactory using JNDI and an Glassfish server.
    Can anybody point me to some useable documentation? The GF admin and developer and deployment guide as well as the reference
    does not provide a lot of information. They write about general JNDI topics, how to configure data sources, that JNDI can be used to
    lookup resources and the like, on other places people write about, hey, lookup the EntityManagerFactory for your persistence unit
    (persistence.xml), but i am not able to find what JNDI names i can lookup and where and how i can find out what JNDI names are
    available in my server at all.
    Thanks for any hint,
    Chris

    Hello
    Maybe it sounds stupid now but what kind of info do you need exactly?
    When you need BIOS update you can visit BIOS download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_bios.jsp
    For drivers Toshiba drivers download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
    When you need Users manuals document you can download it from - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_manuals.jsp
    General info about this machine you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails/
    Thats all you can find.
    I have old P200 and it is the same machine as your A200 just bigger with 17 display. In BIOS under advanced BIOS options there is SATA controller mode option and two options: AHCI and Compatibility mode.
    It should be used with AHCI mode and then you will have full HDD performance. Many people use compatibility mode to install old WXP without loading SATA driver.
    Can you please tell us what kind of info do you need and what do you want to do with this machine.
    I really hope we can help you somehow.

  • Cluster 4.0 and Glassfish MQ

    Sadly I read the release notes, esp the:
    The following HA data services are not initially available with the 4.0 release but might become available at a later time:
    •     Oracle GlassFish Message Queue
    After I read "Oracle Solaris Cluster Data Service for Oracle GlassFish Server Message Queue Guide" at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23623_01/html/E26827/. yeah bad form on my behalf.
    anyway, any ideas on this will be available sometime in the future?

    Steve,
    I am using JSF2.0 and getting javax.el.ExpressionFactory NoClassDefFound issues.
    OEPE Helios
    Weblogic 10.3.3
    I have an EAR containing one WAR.
    WEB-INF/lib
    el-api-2.2jar
    el-imp-2.2.jar
    jsf-api.jar (2.1.1)
    jsf.impl.jar (2.1.1)
    jstl.jar (1.1.0-D13)
    web.xml has
         <context-param>
              <param-name>com.sun.faces.expressionFactory</param-name>
              <param-value>com.sun.el.ExpressionFactoryImpl</param-value>
         </context-param>
    EAR has
    weblogic-application.xml with
    <wls:prefer-application-packages>
    <wls:package-name>org.eclipse.persistence.*</wls:package-name>
    <wls:package-name>javax.faces.*</wls:package-name>
    <wls:package-name>com.sun.faces.*</wls:package-name>
         <wls:package-name>com.sun.el.*</wls:package-name>
         <wls:package-name>javax.el.*</wls:package-name>
    </wls:prefer-application-packages>
    I see by your post that JSF2.0 support can be solved by either deploying a shared-library or using the weblogic.Deployer utility. Unfortunately, we don't have access to change the Weblogic instance in any way. I was hoping that using the prefer-application-packages would be sufficient to use alternative classes to Weblogic's but I have not been able to get it to work for the javax.el classes. I have tried not including javax.el and the app deploys but then accessing a page produces a javax.el.ELResolver no method found for invoke. Invoke being a newer method defined in el-api-2.2.jar. If I was able to convince them to add some shared libs, what are all the jars that would be required to make this work?
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    John

  • ISP and Glassfish

    I have a question:
    If ISP offers virtual hosting with Glassfish, will customers have access to the admin console? How customers will deploy applications and manage resources (JDBC, JMS or JNDI)? Will customers have access to other virtual host's resources?
    Thanks for help!

    Yea... go get something like a VPS from http://entic.net/servers. You get full root access, and you have access to the console.
