OID error

Hi,
Problem Statement - we have a web application running on Linux machine and which uses Oracle OID 10g(version - 10.1.4.0) for user authentication through custom JAAS module. OID server runs in a separate linux server. The problem is, after few hours running of the application we are getting the following error
2008/05/08:14:14:05 * ServerDispatcher :5 * sgslufread: Hard error on
read, OS error = 104
There is a load balancer before the web server. There is no load balancer or proxy server in between the webserver and OID server.
Any one has any idea what could be the reason of the error and any solution or it ?
Thanks in advance,
Ranjan

Thanks Frank.
In other post, I have posted my code. I went to Oracle Directory Manager and checked.
This is how the dn is specified there for one of the employee
dn: cn=rcosby.cn=Users,dc=fhjs,dc=net
objectclass: organizationalperson
inetorgperson
person
top
orcluserv2
orcluser
I have not been using objectclass in my code. Is it compulsory to use ? If yes, do you have Java sample code how to use the regular cn, mail, sn etc along with objectclass ?
Your inputs are really valuable.
thanks,
pp

  • SSO protected Forms application fails with an OID error.

    Hello everyone,
I have a fresh install of Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 on RedHat Enterprise Linux 4. No patches were installed yet.
I've setup Forms to use the Single Sign-On server (SSO). Then created a user with a Resource Access Descriptor (RAD) in the Oracle Internet Directory (OID). I can successfully use the Forms application when I'm not using the SSO.
However, problems arise when I set the Forms application to use SSO. Once I get authenticated, the application.log files fills up with the following lines:
07/05/08 16:30:38 formsweb: In getUserId method: caught oracle.ldap.util.AccessDeniedException: General Error when performing search: getExtendedProperties [LDAP: error code 50 - Insufficient Access Rights]

While $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/log I see some new log files created which also contain erros. Such a log file is oidldapd01s3739.log and contains these lines:
    BEGIN
    2007/05/08:14:37:13 * ServerWorker (REG):7 * ConnID:194 * OpId:5235 * OpName:modify

    END
I've RTFM a lot about this but I still can't find a way to fix this. I've found some info in Metalink Note 360341.1 "In Getuserid Method: Caught Error When Logging Into Forms With SSO Enabled". Unfortunately, my formsweb.cfg file is already setup as the workaround that it proposes, so that doesn't help.
It seems like the attribute "orclresourceviewers" does not get created when the RAD is generated? One of you (Sandeep I believe) suggested that it may have to do with a lack of an OID Index and that I should use catalog.sh to fix this. I unfortunately don't know how to proceed.
I've also opened a TAR, but Oracle Support doesn't seem to understand what's going on.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Many thanks,
    David

    Hi everyone,
Alright, I solved the problem. It seems like the OID is very very very picky with the formsweb.cfg syntax. Especially with the quotes: don't use them!
For example, I had set the oid_formsid & formsid_group_dn values between double-quotes. Removing them fixed the error.
Here's an RCS output from the modifications.

    Hi Daniel,
We checked the OID log file and its showing that OID is up and running. Also showing the process id in OIDCTL.log file

oidctl:oidmon is not running on idm-ar.co.in, waiting for a few seconds...

But we are not able to login to OID.
Can you please guide me how to solve this issue and bring up OID. Its very urgent.

  • OID error authenticating orcladmin user

    Hi,
I am in the process of switching the OID instance I am using on my local machine to a remote machine. Essentially I want to use the OID instance running on that remote machine.
I have specified the host and port, but when I try and add the username and password in step 2 (cn=orcladmin) I get the following error :
javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]
Error authenticating user. [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]
I know my username and password are correct as I can connect to the OID instance using the Oracle Directory Manager.
Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to resolve this ?
    Thanks,

This is strange as orcladmin usually already has administrative privileges after installation (Both cn=orcladmin and cn=orcladmin,cn=users,dc=whatever domain).
You may check this on the oidadmin, here on my environment, cn=orcladmin,cn=Users,dc=..domain.. is member of the group cn=IAS & User Mgmt Application Admins,cn=Groups,cn=OracleContext,dc=..domain..., and this group is inside the group cn=iASAdmins,cn=Groups,cn=OracleContext (This one is in the root context, not inside the domain tree). But all this is setup automatically during installation, you shouldnt be needing to change it, there is no reference to this stuff on the documentation that I am aware of.
Post a reference to what manual or note are you following.

    Luis

    Regards:
    Dan

    Dan,
    See Metalink note 163343.1
"The libnjni9.so is found in two locations in a 9.x installation, $ORACLE_HOME/lib and $ORACLE_HOME/lib32.
    For example:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME find . -name "libnjni9.so" -print
    ./lib/libnjni9.so
    ./lib32/libnjni9.so
If the LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes the $ORACLE_HOME/lib but not $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 that is likely the problem.
Add the $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable and ensure that it appears before the reference to $ORACLE_HOME/lib in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH statement.
For example with a C shell:
    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH =/app/oracle/product/9.0.1/lib32:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH "
I would assume the same holds true for 10g.

  • Security realms - provider - LDAP (OID) - error: autentication denied

I follow the link http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/oidconfig/index.html to configure OID authentication in weblogic server. I am able to see all the OID user in the security realms (users and groups page). I change the control flag to SUFFICIENT. however, I still could not login as orcladmin. I got "The username and password has been refused by WebLogic Server". Could someone assist further on troubleshooting this issue?

I had a cheat sheet that got me through this topic which seems to have disappeared since Oracle has taken over BEA... maybe someone can help us find it again (or a similar reference) but this was the old link:
    Link: [https://support.bea.com/application_content/product_portlets/support_patterns/wls/UnderstandingLDAPGroupMembershipSearchPattern.html]
In short, there are three patterns for authentication that are recognized as the defacto standards for implementation and your directory structure must conform to one of these three patterns into order for the authentication schemes to work. You have not provided enough information in your post for me to say whether or not you have met the criteria. If you can find these three patterns, you can determine if you meet them. If you fail, you will need to write a custom security authenticatio module (documented in the Weblogic documentation somewhere) to enable WL use your setup.
Hope it gets you in the right direction at least....

  • OID-23054 Error: failure getting the attribute

    Hi,
I have set up OID replication among three servers. One server being the Supplier, and the rest two are Consumers. The replication is working fine but one of the consumer is applying the replication way later than the other consumer. After looking at the logs, I'm seeing the below error messages constantly. One of the consumers transport, and apply the changes instantaneously and without any errors. But, the other consumer transport the change instantly but takes time to apply it. Before applying, the below error messages are shown. All other settings are identical.

    SearchFilter : (objectclass=top)
    SearchScope : Subtree
    TargetResourceObjectName : OID User
    Regards

I didn't find any Organization Unit mapping in any of the look up tables shipped in with the OID connector (Configuration, Recon, Prov, etc). So I manually entered a lookup value in the AttrName.Recon.Map.OID. (Code Key : Organization Unit, Decode Key : o) to map it to OID.
Still, I'm getting the same error !! :(:(
I'm able to successfully provision a user to OID though..
    Kindly help !!!!!!!!
P.S. I wasn't facing any issue when I was using the old connector for OID. Things were going fine there, but facing issues with the latest version of OID connector.. :(

Can any once please tell me where I am doing wrong. This was working fine before. I shut down for taking backup and after that OID is not coming up.

Very often the OID does not start because in the ods.ods_processes table entries exist. Remove these and retry.

Can anyone help me to come out of this.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Rajiv,
I am generating the value to the manager field in OID.I found this value getting generated in the OID user form. But this value is not provisioning during provisioning the user.
In the OID Configuration Lookup table i found the manager is mapped to ldapManager. But when i connected to OID through ldap browser i didn't find this attribute. The manager attribute is not there.
So can you help me to solve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajesh.

All the required database access is fine. Any pointers ?

    You may try these steps:
You'll need to install the Microsoft Loopback adapter on the server.
    Go to Device Manager.
Right-click on the computer name at the top of window and choose Add Legacy Hardware.
Click Next, then "Install the hardware I manually select from a list (Advanced)"
Scroll down and click Network adapters in the list of hardware types, and click Next.
A list of devices will appear in a few moments, and you should choose Microsoft on the left and Loopback adapter (see below)
Click Next and wait for the brief installation to complete.
You may also encounter similar symptoms (OID fails to start), and these error messages in your sqlnet.log file located in %ORACLE_HOME%\network\log:
Directory does not exist for read/write [D:\Oracle\IDM\Oracle_IDM1\log] []
To resolve this, simply create the directory log\diag\clients in %ORACLE_HOME%.
