I cant understand what made the garbage collector decide to do a Full GC in this scenario.
My options to the GC are as follows
-Xms512m -Xmx512m -Xmn120m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:+UseParallelGC
-XX:+PrinGCDetails
This a machine that has 4GB RAM and 4 intel processors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to Garbage Collection tuning
By The way. I am using the Sun HotSpot 1.4.2_04 with weblogic 813

If you could upgrade to a more recent version of the JDK, in particular,
JDK 6u2, please try that.
If, for some reason, you are unable to upgrade, then try the following

about "... Though I have imported the following JDK parsers in the code , the Oracle's SAX parser is taking other inside the application server ..."
If you have used the SAXParserFactory.newSAXParser() method to get a parser, the documentation for this method says "Creates a new instance of a SAXParser using the currently configured factory parameters.".
So you might get a different parser in a different environment.

Cant understand TIME_WAITED column in v$system_event view
Hi,
I am new to database, I suppose to see the performance of database,
so i use to execute the below query for wait events.
I have created the scenario by creating only one lock in one table in my testing database which has nobody can access except myself. And executing the query ...
Select Event, Total_waits,Time_waited from v$system_event;
EVENT TOTAL_WAITS TIME_WAITED
enq: TX - row lock contention 1381 414157
row cache lock 13 0
library cache lock 2 178
library cache load lock 17 407
enq: JS - queue lock 1 116
i am tracking the "enq: TX - row lock contention" wait event which i have created by lock. Continuously i executing the above query 4 or 5 times.
I understand the value of TIME_WAITED is increasing because i haven't release the lock, but the TOTAL_WAITS column value also increasing by few seconds which i cant understand.
Can anybody explain in what TIME_WAITED column mean and why it is increasing for a single lock and what time interval it use to increase for single lock.
Thanks in advance.I think that you are getting confused because the view V$system_event is for the entire system. If you are willing to check a event for a specific session, you should use V$session_event . I have got the same thing done and got the session hanging. The time_waited would increase for sure but the number of waits wont for a session.

My apple tv keeps stopping during the movie, I have a good internet connection but cant understand why?
The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps. -

Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

hi i cant under stand my itunes and it is like another language than engl ish i dont know how to change it because i cant understand get back to me asap
Hi Tumtum,
Try clicking on the iTunes STORE in the Sidebar, and then scroll down to the very bottom of the page. You should see a little circular flag. Click on it, and then click on the flag for your country. See if that fixes the issue.

Distiller error log, cant understand what it means
Im trying to create a postscript file from a booklet created in Pagemaker (yeah i know, but thats what they made it in!). When I try to use distiller to create the PDF from it, im constantly getting this error...
%%[ Error: typecheck; OffendingCommand: get; ErrorInfo: CharOffsets fonts/TimesNewRomanPSMT%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Im sure some font is making this not work, there is some times new roman being used on most all the pages but its just basic times new roman that i always use for everything. I dont know what this TimesNewRomanPSMT thing is, i dont even see a font called that in the pagemaker file I have either.An EPS file is a graphics file of the PS type. The wikipedia explanation at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encapsulated_PostScript might help.
When you say you print to a PS file, that set the fonts and stuff in place. Normally with Acrobat, you would print to the Adobe PDF printer. This printer driver creates a PS file that is tailored to PDF production and then calls Distiller to automate the conversion process to PDF. If you want to do the PS process, select print-to-file with the Adobe PDF printer. Then open that file in Distiller and see if you get the same error message. If you are printing to a PS driver and the Distilling, it is likely the setup in that driver where the font embedding and such are defined. I may have misunderstood your post, but that is my take at this point. -

OIM Log file DEBUG isn't showing up
Hi All,
I have the following in some java code:
this.logger = Logger.getLogger("Flat File Reconciliation");
and I'm trying to change the log output to show DEBUg messages, currently it only shows INFO.
I have added:
<category name="Flat File Reconciliation">
<priority value="DEBUG"/>
</category>
to my jboss log4j.xml file, restarted OIM, but I still only see INFO [FLAT FILE RECONCILIATION] in the log. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much
AlexSo I added
log4j.logger.FLAT FILE RECONCILIATION=DEBUG
to my log.properties file but still no go. I thought this file isn't used if using jboss?
Here is my log4j.xml file in case someone picks up a bad configuration:

... 31 moreTo start off, that is my error. I am following this http://www.netbeans.org/kb/50/quickstart-j2ee.html article and so far I can get the entire code working. Netbeans truly makes it easy!
Now I decided to expand on the example and so I used a caching service locator and added one more finder method to the Customer entity bean (CMP). It is a findAllCustomers method that returns a collection and the EJB QL I entered was as follows:
SELECT OBJECT(o) FROM Customer oI correspondingly added another business method to the session facade bean and I wrote a servlet that calls upon the caching service locator class and gets a reference to the session facade bean and calls the findAllCustomer method and gets back a List of all Customers. Then it takes the List, sticks it into the HttpServletRequest object and calls sendredirect to a JSP that is the view.
The JSP is straightforward in that I have a foreach jstl tag that is going to display the customers in a table format. So when I run the code the way it is, what happens when I access that servlet is that the it gets rerouted to the jsp page, but the table does not get displayed...but the above error gets posted in the Netbeans SJSAS console. I have never encountered that kind of error before so i am a bit stumped and don't know how to go about decoding that stacktrace.
Any pointers or suggestions or solutions (much prefer this one) would be great!
Thanks a lot. Sorry for the rather long post. If needed I can package up the entire project and send it to you.
Cheers,
SuryaIt sounds like you're attempting to pass Local EJB objects over a Remote interface, which is not permitted. EJBLocalObjects can not be passed outside the ejb tier. You'll need to either pull their data out into data access object classes (basically structs) or return EJBObjects.
