OIM Request status change email notifications

Hi,
In OIM 11g R2, is there a way to send email notifications only for Request approved and not for other request changes for role approvals? So that user gets only one email per request and that would be only when the role approval is completed. Currently there are multiple emails sent, one for each stage of approval process.
Thanks!

Didn't you try this:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e14309/request.htm#CACICBFI
<metadata name="status">
<value>Request Failed</value>
</metadata>
OR
You can also trigger email from your Approval Workflow itself after Approval Completion.

  • Request status changed!

    Hi,
    in the manage tab of data target when i see the status of the request it is yellow and added records and transferred records has adifference of almost 40000.
    but when i click monitor button, it goes to the monitor screen with following msg
         " request status changed, trigger follow on events? followed by YES or NO push buttons?"
    why this msg is coming though upload is not yet completed?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    This message indicates that there is some change in the data load between now and ur previous visit. If you choose YES, it refreshes and displays the latest status. If you choose NO, it shows the status of ur last visit

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 (rollup update 2) Change Request/Review Activity Email Notifications

    I am trying to setup an email template for Change Request Reviewer. The email should contain as much details as possible, include Change Request ID, Description, Reason, Impact. etc. I have tried to include Data Properties from "Contains Activity",
    "Has Parent Work Item", "Depends on Work Item"... but they all show blank data in email notification. Which Data Properties should I use?

    Using Data Properties From the Parent Work Items in Activity Email Templates

    Thanks Andreas,
    I have seen this post, but it didn't work for me. Eventually, I found solution. Below is working code.
    For example:
    "Contains Activity" doesn't have Change Request Data Properties "Reason". I inserted "Reason" from "Has Parent Work Item", copy inserted code "TypeConstraint=... .../Reason$", paste it after "$Context/Path[... ...System.WorkItemContainsActivity' "
    to replace the original code inserted from "Contains Activity".
    Also, don't forget to adde SeedRole='Target', but better to type
    ' by yourself.

    Be careful when copying + pasting SeedRole=’Target’ from this blog post. It should actually be SeedRole='Target' which has different punctuation around Target. I'd imagine that whatever blog engine Microsoft uses for this "helpfully" converted the
    single quote to some weird right-slanted-single-quote which doesn't work in Service Manager when copied+pasted.
    You guys might want to wrap it in a code block, or whatever you can use on the back-end to preserve formatting.
    Description:
    <br><br>
    $Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Description$

  • Changing Email Notification address in Calendar

    Is there a way to change the notification email address in Calendar? At this time all notification are sent to a little used address and I need to change it to a current one, but cannot find a way to do that. Any clues please? Thanks, PM

    When you set an Email alert for a calendar event you can pick from any of your email addresses on your card in Contacts.
    In Calendar, double-click an event, and then click Edit.
    Choose an alert from the Alert pop-up menu.
    Message: Displays a notice on the screen (using Notification Center).
    Message with Sound: Displays a notice on the screen and makes a sound (using Notification Center).
    Email: Sends you an email. If you have more than one email address listed in Contacts, you can choose the one you want to use.
    Open File: Opens the file you choose. If you don’t see the file you want, choose Other to select the file.
    Choose a time or date from the accompanying Alert pop-up menu.
    To add another alert, choose one from the next Alert pop-up menu.Each time you set another alert, a new Alert menu appears. However, you can set only one alert for events on an Exchange calendar.
    To remove an alert, choose None from the Alert pop-up menu.

  • Requests to change email password

    Why am I being advised of suspicious activity on my account & told to change my e-mail log in passord every few days (3or4)?

    "Suspicious activity" usually means your account is being used to send out spam or malicious emails.  This usually means that somebody else has found out your password and possibly also the answer to your security question.  This enables them to log on to the BT web site and gain access to your email account.
    If the problems keeps happening but you have changed your password then perhaps the new password is extremely easy to guess (particularly if you knew what the old password was).  Or it could mean that the suspicious activity originates from your computer(s).  So it could be something you are doing or something a 'virus' on your computer is doing.

  • Requested password change, email from iforgot never arrives in my inbox.  The answers to the security questions don't work either.

    I am trying to set up my son's new itouch message and Face Time.  I made an apple id for him, but think the process got interrupted before I finished and now we can't sign into his account.  I went to manage apple id, requested an email be sent to reset password (because answers to security questions don't work), it shows an email was sent, but it never shows up in his inbox or mine which is his rescue email.  I tried creating a new apple id with his email, but it shows it already exists.  I am not sure what to do next.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Everything else is run through my iTunes account so he can have access to all the apps and music that the rest of the family has purchased/uploaded.  Help please!  Thanks.

  • Email Notification to Requester Manager

    Hi All,
       I am using following product...
      IDM 11g R2 (BP03), SOA 11g
    I want to send the Email notification to the Requester Manager  (my workflow is working fine, resource is getting approved and provisioned properly by Manager) I have made all the required settings in SOA for Enabling Email notifications along-with enabling 'RequestNotificationLevel=1' in OIM.
    (I have tested above with SMTP Provider / UMS Provider.)
    The Requester is getting all the notifications i.e 'Request Created' and 'Request Status Change' notifications.
    Notification composite being used  is "default/RequesterManagerApproval!1.0"  in Approval Policy.
    Its Only That the Manager is not getting any notification. What can be done to send the Notification to the Manager in his mail box (just like being received by requester) so that he knows that some request has been generated for his approval.
    Thanks and Regards....

    You're probably going to have to create a custom SOA-Composite and build your own notifications into it.  Either that, or use the Request Status event handler, and custom code retrieving the person you want, and then using the notification service APIs to send an email to them.  Using OOTB approvals, you aren't going to be able to get the result you want.

  • Send different email notifications when a request is rejected/completed

    Hi Friends,
    I have developed a SOA composite in OIM 11g. And I am getting the same email notification when a request is fully completed or when it is rejected by an approver. How to send diffrerent email notification when a request is completed and when it is rejected by an approver.

    There are multiple ways in which you can do it.
    1. Modify your SOA composite and change the notification properties in the .task. Here change the status of the event and configure different notifications for different events.
    2. Use the Request Status change plugin in OIM to send the notification and remove all notification from SOA composite.
    3. Use explicit notification service in the SOA composite and attach the notification service component at appropriate places in the SOA workflow. Additionally remove the notification configuration from the .task

  • OIM: Request completed status

    Guys,
    OIM 9.1.0.2
    I need to confirm one thing:
    For manual approval process(standard approval process):
    Request should be completed after provisioning process completes.
    1-When it is approved:
    Request Status:Object Approval Complete - When the resource level Approval is complete and 'Approved' the status changes to 'Object Approval Complete'
    2-When it is provisioned:
    Request Status:Request Complete - When the resource is approved and provisioned, the request status changes to 'Request Complete'
    For Pre Approval process:
    Request should be completed before provisioning process completes.
    1- Pre-approval process complete the request. Request Status:Request Complete
    2- For some reason the provisioning could not be completed it is not intervene with the request status.
    Is this true or not? If not, what should be the behavior(request status) of pre-approval process after approval process finish?

    The request status in OIM is not consistent. For the answer in your situation, you need to go through each step and record what your status is to know what the outcome is going to be. You will get different status's if you do more than auto complete and have actual approval tasks involved.

  • OIM 9102: Send Email Notification to other user in a task

    I created a process in OIM. In this process exist a Task: Manager Process. When this task will be completed for the user that be assigned. In the Notification Tab are able to send a email notification to a Assign User, Requester User, User or User Manager. But i need to send a email notification a other user different to them, for example: juan.perez, this user is in OIM.
    I have read the following documents:
    1.- http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10391_01/doc.910/e10363/promgt.htm#BCECFGEJ
    2 .- How to Send an Email Notification Upon User Creation via the Admin Console [ID 780394.1]
    3.- OIM: An Example of Email Notification and Configuring it With a Resource Object Provisioning [ID 457836.1]
    4.- Sending an Approval Notification Email with a Link Directly to the Approval Request? [ID 748447.1]
    Or exist some way to do this, through java code.
    I'm using oim 9.1.0.2 BP18 running on OC4J 10.1.3.5 on AIX 6.1 64-bit clustered install with two nodes, Oracle Database 10.2.0.4 on AIX 6.1 64-bit on RAC.

    Hi
    You can use OIM email API to send an email from the java code. You can attach code on post creation user using entity adapter. Every time a user is created the email is triggered.
    Here is the sample:
    public EmailUtility(tcDataProvider dataProvider) {
              this.dataProvider = dataProvider;
              emailOper = new tcEmailNotificationUtil(dataProvider);
              System.out.println("Email API instantiated successfully...");
         public String sendEmail(String fromAddress, String toAddress, String body,
                   String subject) {
              emailOper.setBody(body);
              emailOper.setFromAddress(fromAddress);
              emailOper.setSubject(subject);
              emailOper.sendEmail(toAddress);
              System.out.println("Email sent!" + subject);
              return SUCCESS;

  • Delayed email notification in OIM

    We want OIM to send an email notification to the user that a new account was created for that user on the target system, but there are some instances when we will not know the email address until after the account on the target system is created. Once the email address is known to OIM then we want it provisioned to the target system and the email notification to be sent. What options are there for doing this in OIM? We plan on using a pre-populate adapter to supply the process form with the email address obtained from the OIM user data.
    thanks,
    jay

    You mean that after an account gets created in target system then only you can generate the EmailId for that user because you might have dependency like in case of AD-Exchange or your Email ID has to be dependent on some other attribute of the target system. If that is the case then:
    - Create an initial account at the target.
    - On completion of the Create Type process tasks, call another task which generates or know about this Email Id and put in the OIM User Profile. Not to mention that lookup USR_PROCESS_TRIGGER should have an entry.
    - Attach a Change Email type task in the process definition of your target system. This transfers the Email to Process Form 'Email' attribute.
    - Email Updated type task calls and transfers this Email value to the target.
    - On the response C of this task, send an Email to to end-user about the successful account creation.
    Thanks

    Any Comments!!!!!!!!
    Alos if any one can tell what is the default behavior of IDM 11gR2 for email notifications, I mean does it send notifications to the Requester and Approver OOTB like the previous versions of IDM or it is different from its predecessors that it requires exclusively additional configurations / coding / patch for making Email notifications enabled for the Approver? as the Notifications for the Requester are working like a charm without any additional configurations.
