Ojdbc14 can't load driver

Hi,
I built an application using among others the ojdbc14.jar - working "perfectly" in eclipse.
But when I create a jar - I receive an "Class-not-found-Exception", when the
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); is invoked.
I tried using newInstance() but it didn't work.
The classpath seems to be correct:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<classpath>
     <classpathentry kind="src" path=""/>
     <classpathentry kind="con" path="org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER"/>
     <classpathentry kind="lib" path="ojdbc14.jar"/>
     <classpathentry kind="output" path=""/>
</classpath>I also "included" the jar(s) in the manifest:
Bundle-ClassPath: ojdbc14.jarwhen I use instead of the "...getName()..."
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());I don' receive the ClassNotFoundError"- but the jar doesn't do anything (seems like hanging-up)
Of cause they are included in the jar. ;)
So - where is the bug? Do I have to use another command than the
forName to load the driver?
Thanks for any tip.
adicko

DriverManager.registerDriver (new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
String jdbcURL="jdbc:oracle:thin:@"
+"192.168.0.96"//jdbcHost
+":1521"//port
+":db12"//service name
//Another format: DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:oci8:@","user", "passwd");
should work normally. If not, try to download a JDBC packag from Oracle site.

  • Can't load driver page for OfficeJet Printer ... "HP compiling results" message lasts forever

    Something is going really bad with HP drivers webpage. I can't go beyond "HP is compiling your results. This could take up to 3 minutes, depending on your computer and connection speed. Thank you for your patience". I can't go thru. Thanks for any advise. Please point me to the complete link to download the full driver for the printer. Diego

  • Can't load driver software

    I inserted 2 new black cartridges and after that the printer stopped printing in black even though the printer told me the cartridges were okay. The doctor said I needed new software. I tried to download the software twice (and deleted the old software) but it hasn't worked. I cannot find anyone at HP Tech Support for help.

    Greetings , I noticed you are having trouble with getting your software for your Premium C309g, and I might be able to help. Before we get into the software, does the printer work stand-alone? To test this try to print a print quality diagnostic report. On the display screen touch the arrow to the rightToch on SetupIn Setup, choose ToolsIn Tools you should find the Print a Print Quality Diagnostic
    Figure : Example print quality diagnostic report
     Let me know the results of this report. If it prints correctly you can then work on the software.  Sometimes updating the software from the Print and Scan Doctor gets finicky, I would remove everything again following the below steps and then downloading a fresh copy from the HP website directly (link provided below.) I recommend referencing the steps in this document to make sure you haven't missed anything during the uninstall; HP Single-Function and Multifunction Printers - Uninstalling the Printer Software. You may also want to Delete files using Disk Cleanup - make sure to put check marks in all of the selection boxes. Other places software drivers may hide would be in your Device Manager.  To Open the Device Manager:
    1) Click Start (Or Windows Icon) and enter 'Device Manager' into the Search field.
    2) Click on the Device Manager.
    3) You may want to click on View, at the top of the windows, and then Show hidden devices.
    4) Expand the device types, and check for any driver related to your printer.
    5) To remove a device from device manager, right-click the device name from the list and then click Uninstall. * For more information see Device Manager Information for Windows 7.  Then you can download the HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One C309 Series Full Feature Software and Driver.   Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks,

    any idea.

    You start by looking in Sun's Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for Solaris.
    [http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/sol/|http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/sol/]
    In there, you will see that you have three choices for the 8139x chipset.
    You let the NIC be recognized natively during the OS installation (it just works), or you can use Realtek's driver from their web site, or you can use the third-party drivers hosted on Masayuki Murayama's site.
    The downloads from Realtek and from the Murayama site include README files with instructions.

    I had Leopard on may Mac. I upgraded to Mountain Lion using Snow Leopard. I can't use my video with Mountain Lion. Can I load Snow Leopard on an external hard drive so I can use it with my camera?

    First, you cannot do this if you have a Boot Camp partition.
    Second: Create a new partition.
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired new volume's size. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.  (Note: You can only make a partition smaller in order to create new free space.)
    4. Click on the [+] button below the sizing window to add a new partition in the gray space you freed up. Give the new volume a name, if you wish, then click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
    You should now have a new volume on the drive.
    It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss.  Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.
    Third: Install Snow Leopard.
    Boot from your Snow Leopard DVD. Follow instructions for installation being sure that before you actually install Snow Leopard you have selected the new partition as your target destination.
    Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
      1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
      2. Restart the computer.
      3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
      4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo
          appears.
      5. Wait for installer to finish loading.

  • I can't load some content from my external hard drive to itunes,

    I can't load some content from 1 of my external hard drive to itunes, it can see it and try to load the folder / files but it doesn't appear, these files worked recently as some of them are currently on my ipod touch - I had to factory restore my laptop this week (virus) so have been trying to put everything back on to sync ipod - any ideas???

    To delete files from your external HDD, attach it to your MBP and drag the unwanted files to trash and then empty trash.
    Then you select the files that you want to transfer by 'drag and drop' to the external HDD and trash the files on your MBP.
    Ciao.

  • Can't load leopard on an external drive

    I am having some serious trouble trying to load leopard on an external drive. I have a 1TB drive on my MBP and it is partitioned with Mavericks and Leopard. I am tired of Mavericks hanging up and I am goint to do a clean install like I did on my Mac Pro.
    I have a mini 500GB FW drive that I put mavericks on and migrated my data. On the leopard partition I have a few older programs and I want to migrate that partitition to a 320FW external drive. That way I have all my data, can wipe my 1TB drive, partition it, load mavericks and leapord and migrate from the FQW Drives.
    When I put in my disc for leopard, Mavericks won't allow me to load it. I tried the Command R function with start up and I can't load leopard on that drive. I get a message saying I can't do that. I have also tried to copy the leopard disk over to the 320 GB FW HD and I get permission errors.
    I really need to be able to use leopard for an older program that takes panasonic p2 cards.
    Is there anything I am overlooking or missing? Any tricks to make this work?
    Thanks!

    I hope you mean Snow Leopard:
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
    Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
    the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
             with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
             After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
             a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
             button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
             After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
             size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
             partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
             and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
             (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
             with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
             Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
             username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
             Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
             install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
             Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
    Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

    driver class: null.
    I've got no idea what's going on.
    Any Suggestion?
    Thanks in advance
    Kitty

    Hi Kitty,
    The connection you're trying to set up points to nothing :
    Connection conn = null;
    So, you receive a complaint that that driver cannot be loaded. Please read
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/basics/connecting.html
    download the right database driver and use that. Good luck!

    What's strange is that the "Version" is the same - 4.3.20-2, but the "Installed Size" varies...  167 KiB vs 187 KiB.
    Also, the build date on the virtualbox-host-modules package (still the current one in the repos) was Dec 8, 2014...  The linux-lts package build date is Jan 16, 2015.

  • Can we be done loading driver and registering driver by Using 'new" Operat.

    Dear Sir..
    Can we directly create the instance of any driver class by using the "new" operator and by this object can we call any method like getConnection() etc,will it return connection instance.
    Is it necessary these all task from loading to registering the drivers all done by the help of class.forName().
    Please i am very confuse ...help me..

    The JDBD API is an early (and consequently rather clumsy) example of a pattern which I call the Factory/Interface pattern (not an official name).
    The idea is to allow different implementations of an API where the implentation actually used doesn't need to be known at compile time. Another example of this pattern is the SAX and DOM xml parsers. JNDI is a third example.
    You wouldn't normally even have the database driver library on your classpath when compiling, so you avoid referring to the concrete Driver instance as a class reference, in the FQN of the concrete driver class is likely to be part of a configuration file.
    If it were being designed today I don't doubt that the implementing class names would be contained in the services directory of the jars containing them and you wouldn't need to know their names at all, all the drivers on the class path would take a look at the URL until one accepted it.
    It's a nice idea, but with JDBC the actual benefits probably aren't all that great, particularly when different vendors have different flavours of SQL.
    By the way. when a driver class is loaded it registers itself with the DriverManager as part of it's class initialization code (in a static initializer), so if you do create an instance the class registers itself automatically.
    You can use the Driver classes directly, I've had to do this on one occasion because I was loading the Driver from a URLClassLoader and DriverManager won't deliver drivers that have a different classloader from the class that calls getConnection().
