With some exceptions, Apple may not read this forum. Many of us here are just people with time on our hands who want to help.
If your WiFi internet link is not working, Siri will not work. One thing you can try is to unplug your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You may have to reconnect the iPad to the WiFi.
There may be an iOS update beyond 6.0.1, in case that matters.

I am looking for software to store photos with. I am not a fancy photographer, and really am just looking for the digital version of a photo album. iPhoto is not cutting it, mainly because it does not back up and restore easily on an external HD.
That's how Time Machine and iPhoto now work. Restore the library to one of the external HDs, check it for the photos you want, export them to the boot drive and delete the restored library.
If you know the file name of the photo you're looking for you can search for them in the TM backup using Find Any File.
My workflow allows me to do that:
1 - upload new photos to a folder on the Desktop.
2 - name the folder to represent the contents and date: 01/03/10-Toads Bday
3 - use a file renaming app to sequentially rename the photos in the folder to: 2010-01-03-Toads Bday-001.JPG, -002,JPG, -003.JPG, etc.
4 - import the folder into iPhoto creating an Event with the same title as the folder.
Now I can search for those file by file name with any app of my choosing. -
i connected my iphone 5 to my computer for the first time since i got it and it didnt give me any option and just started to restore it from my iphone 4s. ive now lost all my pictures that were on it. Is there a way i can get them back as i did not want it to restore my old phone anyway! i also had my hone set up to the cloud and it didnt work! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME
Can you try to use another computer?
If this does not work, visit an Apple Store or an Authorized Apple Service Provider next to your place, and show them the phone, maybe they can restore it before you'll have to get it serviced.

Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
3. Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will open, modify and save your data files;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:

my hard drive crashed on my MacBook Pro crashed and I need to get my CS5 up and running on the new hard drive. I copied what I could onto an external hard drive but when I drag and drop I get directions to uninstall but the uninstall folder I have does says it is an alias that is no longer present. I get error 6. I would like to get my software up and running on the laptop again please
If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc. you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod. I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard. -
How to get this 2004 PMG5 back up and running?

My girlfriend and I picked up a bunch of Power Macs the other day: 1x G5 Quad, 1x G5 2004 Dual 1.8 and a G4 MDD 2003. The G4 works great and I upgraded the graphics to a lovely Geforce 3 Ti200 card. Great OS9 machine!
The G5s though, are a different story. The Quad has the infamous Delphi LCS, which broke. The logic board is undamaged, but the previous owner was not kind to this machine. The red LED near the top RAM slot shows the ill fate of this machine.
My question is mainly about the 2004 Dual 1.8Ghz machine. It POSTs fine, but once it tries to boot from a disk or a DVD, it hangs at the Apple logo. No spinning wheel, just an immediate freeze. The fans go turbo as soon as the open firmware is loaded.
Specifications:
G5 Dual 1.8Ghz from 2004
2GB PC3200 (2x 1GB, tested as working properly in other machines)
Radeon 9600XT
Disks tested include several SATA drives as well as a Kingston HyperX SSD. DVDs include 10.4.6 Tiger and 10.5.6 Leopard, universal versions.
What have we tried so far:
- PRAM reset (machine doesn't respond to the command, just continues it's boot attempt)
- Safe mode / single user mode / verbose mode (again, machine does not respond to the commands)
- Replacing the PRAM battery
- Booting into Open Firmware (works fine, the multiboot section works fine as well, and the install DVDs are detected)
- dev /memory .properties command in Open Firmware (shows SPI data as expected, RAM appears functional)
- PCI SATA card to rule out a defective SATA controller.
What we haven't tried yet:
- Apple Hardware Test to diagnose any remaining problems.
So, dear Apple community, is there something else we're missing here? I can get a Dual 2Ghz logic board + CPUs on the cheap if need be, but I'd rather get this one back up and running.I am delighted that you are someone who practices the reuse and recycle idea. Up until yesterday, I did not know that a Power PC version of the Mac was even made. I had been using a Intel imac that I bought new in 2007, and the shop that I had it at said that it would be too expensive to fix - so they were willing to let me have this power pc G5 for what I had put down for the repair. It looks like this PPC G5 is just about new - and I suspect because it was made non-upgradable from almost the git go.
I am wondering if you have found anything that will adapt your machine to newer operating systems? I am wondering if you have tried an external hard drive possibly?
If you are familiar with the Meet Up network - I am a member of the Okanagan Mac Users Meet Up group. I was thinking that it might make a lot of sense to make a proposal to Apple that the outfits that are making counterfeit software should be given an alternative that would be legit. I am thinking that these rogue software developers could be invited to make a budget line of adaptive software that could make use of the power pc hardware - and could be linked with some kind of software that would be able to interact with the advanced platforms. I would like to be able to get my system to run Chrome and Google docs. I also need to connect my HP Officejet 7610 wide printer.

II've had my ipad with retina display for about a 1 now and everything was fine In till I got my iphone 4s and put them on the same account then my ipad stopped letting me log in to my FaceTime and iMessage and it doesn't let me update my apps and dosnt let me log in to iCloud ever since I got my phone and put them on the same account does anyone know how I could fix it and still be able to connected to my iphone??

You might want to repair Acrobat from the 'Help' menu and check if it installs the pdf printer back or not.

I have recently got a new replacement iPhone 4. Since I got this I have found that my data allowance is getting used up during the night while my phone is charging on the bedside table. How an I find out what is causing this and stop it happening? Some nights the usage is 150 meg!
You can not access the backup directly.
Did you restore your replacement from this backup?
If so then you already have everything in the backup on your device.
If not, you can wipe the device and restore from this backup:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings

It used to display the names if there was a contact listed, now it just shows numbers regardless of whether or not the number corresponds to a contact name in the contact list. Can anyone help? I googled this problem and lots of folks have experienced it, however there is not a consensus for a resolution.
Alexandribill, I have been having the exact same issue. I got a new phone and restored my contacts. If the # doesn't have the area code first then the name isn't shown. I just added my husbands area code to my phone and called my phone from his and now his name shows up...Ugh, I have to go through and manually add the area code to all my contacts....
I'd say Verizon needs to rewrite their program to include the area code in the restoring from backup process!
