OMBPLUS "Create and Bind" command

Hi All,
I'm looking for a command or the ombplus syntax to have the same functionality as a 'Create and Bind' in the OWB gui. Does something like that exist?
More specifically: at the moment we have a script creating mappings from (imported) source tables generating flat files. The latter are created as a mapping object and we would like to avoid having to create them again and bind it manually, instead of just executing the 'create and bind' function.
We are using OWB 11.1.0.7 at the moment.
Thanks,
Michel

Hi Michel
You can use the OMBRECONCILE command to do this. The data mover expert on the exchange does something like it (here).
OMBRECONCILE MAPPING 'MAP' OPERATOR 'FF' TO FLAT_FILE 'PROJECT/MODULE/OBJ' USE (RECONCILE_STRATEGY 'REPLACE', MATCHING_STRATEGY 'MATCH_BY_OBJECT_NAME')
Cheers

  • Creating and Binding View Objects dynamically : Oracle Jdeveloper 11g

    Hello,
    We are trying to create and bind view objects dynamically to adf data visualization components.
    The view object is a result of multiple tables.
    We are using Oracle JDeveloper 11g Technical Preview. ( can't upgrade to TP2 or TP3 now).
    We have found this : http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/07/15/creatingUpdateableMultientityViewObjectDefinitionsDynamically.html on our search for the same.
    The sample application however, is in 10g , hence required migration.
    Also, it was a standalone application with the TestClient.java having a main() method.
    Our requirement is for Web Application; we use Adf+jsf .
    Guidance of any sort is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    there also exist a forum for JDeveloper 11: JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview
    What you are trying todo is not trivial because you need to not only dynamically create the VO, you would also dynamically need to create the binding meta data for it (assuming you use ADF). Not sure if the API to modify the binding is public, so posting it on the JDeveloper 11 forum bears a glimpse of hope for an answer
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3 you can't do this

  • Error when dynamically creating and binding view object

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 (1913) to create a JSP - Struts - ADF BC application.
    I'm trying to create a lov page that is based on a viewobject whose query (and bindings) are set at runtime (like Steve Muench shows in one of his undocumented ADF samples).
    In the prepareModel() I do the following:
    -unbindRowsetIteratorFromDynamicQueryIteratorBinding(...)
    -changeDynamicViewObjectQuery(...)
    -recreateRangeBindingForDynamicQuery(...)
    -removeControlBinding(...)
    -addDynamicRangeBinding(...)
    So I remove the existing binding, change the query of the viewobejct and recreate the bindings.
    I have got most of the code running except for 1 issue:
    1. The first time I call my Lov I get the a stacktrace (included at the end of this post). If I close the window and click the Lov button again it is working fine.
    Can someone help me out with this one???
    Here is the stacktrace I am getting:
    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: An error occurred while evaluating custom action attribute "value" with value "${bindings.OpmerkingenLookupIterator.rangeStart}": An error occurred while getting property "rangeStart" from an instance of class oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUIteratorBinding (java.lang.NullPointerException)

    Here is some more info:
    I can reproduce the problem using the code Steve Muench supplies in his undocumented ADF samples.
    If you add the following line to the jsp in the example code(browseResultsOfDynamicVO.jsp):
    <c:set var="rangeStart" scope="request" value="${bindings.DynamicViewObjectIterator.rangeStart}"/>You will get the behaviour I am facing.
    The first time in your session you enter a valid query and submit it you get a stacktrace. By refreshing the page it works.
    It looks like that when recreating the bindings at runtime something more is fone that isn't done at design time. So the first time the statement fails but once the bindings have been recreated at runtime it suddenly works....
    The main question is: what is it that is done at runtime and is missing at design time?

  • Creating and binding a reference to a remote EJB

    We have encountered a problem trying to run our Web Services WAR on a separate server/domain to our back-end EJBs.
    The problem is that we need to bind the remote EJB objects into the Web Services local JNDI tree so that it can access them. We have successfully done so by using a startup class which does a lookup on the remote objects (or simply the sub-context they reside in). This works well, except for one problem. If the EJB server is unavailable when the Web Services server starts, the lookup fails and the Web Services app fails to start.
    To avoid this I would like to bind a Reference rather than the actual remote object. However I have been unable to determine the correct method for doing so. At this time my code appears as follows:
         <pre>String ejbProvdierURL = "t3://qvasdev:7951"
    String ejburl = ejbProviderURL + "/ejb/qvas/User";
    Reference remoteEjbContext = new Reference(
         "interfaces.UserServiceHome",
         new StringRefAddr("URL", ejburl));
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
    context.bind("ejb/User", remoteEjbContext);</pre>
    When we try the above, the bind succeeds, however the Web Service app reports the following on startup:
    <pre><Error> <HTTP> <BEA-101216> <Servlet: "WebServiceServlet" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "web-services".
    javax.servlet.ServletException: ERROR: The EJB component named: ejbcomp0 specified a JNDI name: ejb/qvas/User, but this JNDI name does not refer to a stateless session EJB.

    at weblogic.Server.main(Server.java:32)
    </pre>
    Examining the JNDI tree reveals the "ejb/User", but with the words "Access Denied" against it.
    What am I missing? I have seen examples which bind references to JDBC or JMS related objects, but not simple EJBs.

  • Create and bind javafx objects out of java

    hello,
    iam start to learn javafx and cant find the right way to do what i want.
    the goal is: i have written a graph datastructure in java and want to parse a xml file. for every String in the xml file a new node in the graph should be created. this node holds the data and a position (2D). now evertime a node in the graph was created, a visual representation for this node should pop out in my javafx stage. when the position of the node changed the visual rep. should notice this or rather a function on this object is called (observer).
    is javafx an approach to do so? or should i use java2d?
    do you know a tutorial where i can learn how to create an call javafx objects out of java and how to put them into the stage/scene?
    i found this: http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/scripting/javafx/javafx_and_java/index.html
    but there is not mentioned how to put the object into the stage/scene.

  • How to create and use library JAR files with command-line tools?

    Development Tools -> General Questions:
    I am trying to figure out how to put utility classes into JAR files and then compile and run applications against those JAR files using the command-line javac, jar, and java tools. I am using jdk1.7.0_17 on Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.7.
    I have posted a simple example with one utility class, one console application class, and a Makefile:
    http://holgerdanske.com/users/dpchrist/java/examples/jar-20130520-2134.tar.gz
    Here is a console session:
    2013-05-20 21:39:01 dpchrist@desktop ~/sandbox/java/jar
    $ cat src/com/example/util/Hello.java
    package com.example.util;
    public class Hello {
        public static void hello(String arg) {
         System.out.println("hello, " + arg);
    2013-05-20 21:39:12 dpchrist@desktop ~/sandbox/java/jar
    $ cat src/com/example/hello/HelloConsole.java
    package com.example.hello;
    import static com.example.util.Hello.hello;
    public class HelloConsole {
        public static void main(String [] args) {
         hello("world!");
    2013-05-20 21:39:21 dpchrist@desktop ~/sandbox/java/jar
    $ make
    rm -f hello
    find . -name '*.class' -delete
    javac src/com/example/util/Hello.java
    javac -cp src src/com/example/hello/HelloConsole.java
    echo "java -cp src com.example.hello.HelloConsole" > hello
    chmod +x hello
    2013-05-20 21:39:28 dpchrist@desktop ~/sandbox/java/jar
    $ ./hello
    hello, world!I believe I am looking for:
    1. Command-line invocation of "jar" to put the utility class bytecode file (Hello.class) into a JAR?
    2. Command-line invocation of "javac" to compile the application (HelloConsole.java) against the JAR file?
    3. Command-line invocation of "java" to run the application (HelloConsole.class) against the JAR file?
    I already know how t compile the utility class file.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA,
    David

    I finally figured it out:
    1. All name spaces must match -- identifiers, packages, file system, JAR contents, etc..
    2. Tools must be invoked from specific working directories with specific option arguments, all according to the project name space.
    My key discovery was that if the code says
    import com.example.util.Hello;then the JAR must contain
    com/example/util/Hello.classand I must invoke the compiler and interpreter with an -classpath argument that is the full path to the JAR file
    -classpath ext/com/example/util.jarThe code is here:
    http://holgerdanske.com/users/dpchrist/java/examples/jar-20130525-1301.tar.gz
    Here is a console session that demonstrates building and running the code two ways:
    1. Compiling the utility class into bytecode, compiling the application class against the utility bytecode, and running the application bytecode against the utility bytecode.
    2. Putting the (previously compiled) utility bytecode into a JAR and running the application bytecode against the JAR. (Note that recompiling the application against the JAR was unnecessary.)
    (If you don't know Make, understand that the working directory is reset to the initial working directory prior to each and every command issued by Make):
    2013-05-25 14:02:47 dpchrist@desktop ~/sandbox/java/jar

    here is my code and I would appreciate it if someone can help.
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import javax.naming.ldap.*;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import javax.net.ssl.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Newuser
         public static void main (String[] args)
              //LDAPEntry myEntry = new LDAPEntry();
              Hashtable<String, String> env = new Hashtable<String, String>(11);
              String adminName = "CN=ldap_admin,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org";
              String adminPassword = "secret";
              env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
              //set security credentials, note using simple cleartext authentication
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION,"simple");
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,adminName);
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,adminPassword);
              //connect to my domain controller
              env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://localhost:389/o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org");
                   // Create the initial directory context
                   //JNDILDAPConnectionManager jndiManager = new JNDILDAPConnectionManagerImpl();
                  try{
                       DirContext ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
                        System.out.println("Connection to LDAP server done" );
                       final String groupDN ="ou=people,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org";
                      //DirContext dirCtx = jndiManager.getLDAPDirContext();
                      People people = new People("Thiru","Thiru","Thiru Ganesh","Ramalingam","ou=people","[email protected]");
                      // The Common name must be equal in Attributes common Name
                      ctx.bind("cn=Thiru," + groupDN, people);
                      System.out.println("** Entry added **");
                      //jndiManager.disConnectLDAPConnection(ctx);
                  }catch(NamingException exception){
                      System.out.println("**** Error ****");
                      exception.printStackTrace();
                      System.exit(0);
    }here is the Object class People that i'm trying to instantiate
    public class People implements DirContext {
         public People(String uid,String cn,String givenname,String sn,String ou,String mail) {
        BasicAttributes myAttrs = new BasicAttributes(true);  //Basic Attributes
        Attribute objectClass = new BasicAttribute("objectclass"); //Adding Object Classes
        objectClass.add("inetOrgPerson");
        /*objectClass.add("organizationalPerson");
        objectClass.add("person");
        objectClass.add("top");*/
        Attribute ouSet = new BasicAttribute("ou");
        ouSet.add("people");
        ouSet.add(ou);
        myAttrs.put(objectClass);
        myAttrs.put(ouSet);
        myAttrs.put("cn",cn);
        myAttrs.put("sn",sn);
        myAttrs.put("mail",mail);
    ...the message i keep getting is:
    javax.naming.directory.SchemaViolationException: [LDAP: error code 65 - entry has no objectClass attribute]
    the thing is that I can create and add a new entry in openLDAP from the console and it works.
    and here is how I proceed
    I create a text file: new.txt
    dn:cn=Hamido Saddo,ou=People,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org
    cn:Hamido Saddo
    mail:[email protected]
    telephonenumber:3838393038703
    sn:hamdio
    objectclass:top
    objectclass:person
    objectclass:organizationalPerson
    objectclass:inetOrgPersonand i use this command to add the entry:
    ldapadd -D "cn=ldap_admin,O=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org" -W -f new.txtand everything works, i get no errors.
    does anyone has a clue maybe???

    You must have an IMAP email account in order to add additional folders on the iPad mail app.
    If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
    If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

  • Lease help me, I'd need to create XForms binding-exception with XHTML page

    Hello,
    is anyone here who could help me?
    I've spent plenty of hours by searching the correct and suitable way for creating a binding exception in XForms, but I did not succeed...
    My situation is: I've got an XHTML page with XForms and XML (input) file, which describes this page. Whenewer I change the input data in the XML file (for example if there are tags <person> and ....</person> if I change it to <peson1> and ...</person1>) after saving the changes and refreshing the page, the XForms are changed (for example some text fields are missing or they've got white background instead red one, which there was before et cetera). {I hope it is clear till now.....}
    My task is: to create a xforms-binding-expression event, which will display an error message (for example: FILE HAVE BEEN CHANGED, CAN NOT DISPLAY THE PAGE PROPERLY) to the user.
    i've found some stuff, how to create such message, but i need to know the exact order of commands to make it work, where to insert them, the structure etc, so I can comprehend your advices...
    The XHTML file contains of several blocks - bind, model, submission, instance etc - and I do not actually know, where to insert such lines (with message)...I think I should make some bindings with the page loading, but I've got no idea how to get it done, however there are very few sites with such stuff on the internet. I hope this task is no big deal for you gyus, THANK YOU A LOT IN ADVANCE

    Thank you very much. I am new to this, and but am not exactly sure how to run a script. Can it be run as a one-off using the editor or console like AppleScript and hitting the green arrow, or do I need to put this into a file and save it to the scripts folder first?
    Also, a related question: some of my scans are full page Letter already and I need to reduce them (scale them) so that they print with a margin because the pages need to be hole punched.
    Can you help me incorporate into this code something that says, if the trim box  > 8 x 10 then scale the page by x percent or by whatever allowable means Acrobat will do it? This way, those pages will be permanently scaled smaller. I cannot just print them scaled smaller, because then all the scans will be printed smaller, and I only need the largest ones reduced in size.
    Thanks so much.

    Yes. It works well now.

  • I Can't create and add en entry in Ldap using Java

    Hello there,
    I'm pretty new to LDAP programming, and I have been trying to create and add an entry to a directory using the code sample provided in the JNDI tutorial, but for some reasons, I didn't manage.
    the configuration file is well set up because I can't create, add, delete and modify just about anything I want from openLDAP command lines, but my real problem is to do it with java.
    here is my code:
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import javax.naming.ldap.*;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import javax.net.ssl.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Newuser
         public static void main (String[] args)
              //LDAPEntry myEntry = new LDAPEntry();
              Hashtable<String, String> env = new Hashtable<String, String>(11);
              String adminName = "CN=ldap_admin,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org";
              String adminPassword = "xxxxxx";
              env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
              //set security credentials, note using simple cleartext authentication
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION,"simple");
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,adminName);
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,adminPassword);
              //connect to my domain controller
              env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://localhost:389/o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org");
                   // Create the initial directory context
                   //JNDILDAPConnectionManager jndiManager = new JNDILDAPConnectionManagerImpl();
                  try{
                       DirContext ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
                        System.out.println("Connection to LDAP server done" );
                       final String groupDN ="ou=people,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org";
                      //DirContext dirCtx = jndiManager.getLDAPDirContext();
                      People people = new People("Thiru","Thiru","Thiru Ganesh","Ramalingam","ou=people","[email protected]");
                      // The Common name must be equal in Attributes common Name
                      ctx.bind("cn=Thiru," + groupDN, people);
                      System.out.println("** Entry added **");
                      //jndiManager.disConnectLDAPConnection(ctx);
                  }catch(NamingException exception){
                      System.out.println("**** Error ****");
                      exception.printStackTrace();
                      System.exit(0);
    }adn this is the class People that i want to instantiate
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import javax.naming.Binding;
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.Name;
    import javax.naming.NameClassPair;
    import javax.naming.NameParser;
    import javax.naming.NamingEnumeration;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    public class People implements DirContext {
         public People(String uid,String cn,String givenname,String sn,String ou,String mail) {
        BasicAttributes myAttrs = new BasicAttributes(true);  //Basic Attributes
        Attribute objectClass = new BasicAttribute("objectclass"); //Adding Object Classes
        objectClass.add("inetOrgPerson");
        /*objectClass.add("organizationalPerson");
        objectClass.add("person");
        objectClass.add("top");*/
        Attribute ouSet = new BasicAttribute("ou");
        ouSet.add("people");
        ouSet.add(ou);
        myAttrs.put(objectClass);
        myAttrs.put(ouSet);
        myAttrs.put("cn",cn);
        myAttrs.put("sn",sn);
        myAttrs.put("mail",mail);
    }as I said, I can add the new entry using an LDIF file "new.txt" that looks like this:
    dn:cn=Hamido Saddo,ou=People,o=JNDITutorial,dc=img,dc=org
    cn:Hamido Saddo
    mail:[email protected]
    telephonenumber:3838393038703
    sn:hamido
    objectclass:top
    objectclass:person
    objectclass:organizationalPerson
    objectclass:inetOrgPersonusing the following command:
    ldapadd -D "cn=ldap_admin,o=JNDITutorial,dc=org,dc=img" -W -f new.txtand eveything works
    but when i try with the java, i get the following error:
    javax.naming.directory.SchemaViolationException: [LDAP: error code 65 - entry has no objectClass attribute]
    so, can anyone help me please !!!

    uncomment these lines
    /*objectClass.add("organizationalPerson");
    objectClass.add("person");
    objectClass.add("top");*/
    you need all of them to add successfully
    your LDIF has all the four lines
    objectclass:top
    objectclass:person
    objectclass:organizationalPerson
    objectclass:inetOrgPerson
    hope this helps

  • Problem with "SELECT...FOR UPDATE OF..." and "POST command" combination

    Problem with "SELECT...FOR UPDATE OF..." and "POST command" combination
    Problem in committing transactions in Multiple Forms (Oracle Forms) with POST built-in command:
    Consider that the following statements are written in WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED trigger of a called form.
    Statements in called form (Form name: FORM_CHILD):
    go_block('display_block') ;
    do_key('execute_query') ;
    -- Data from table_b will be populated in this block, based on the value of COLUMN_1 obtained
    -- from TABLE_A.
    -- Example: If the value of COLUMN_1 is 10, then all the matching records from TABLE_B, which
    -- are inserted with value 10 in TABLE_B.COLUMN_1 will be fetched and shown here.
    if user_choice = 'YES' then
    commit ;
    else
    rollback ;
    end if ;
    Statements in calling forms:
    There are two calling forms having following statements and it is going to call the above said called form.
    CALLING FORM 1
    Statements in KEY-COMMIT trigger:
    post;
    call_form(form_child, no_activate) ;
    Statements in ON-INSERT trigger:
    select column_1
    from table_a
    for update of column_1
    where column_2 = 'X' ;
    update table_a
    set column_1 = column_1 + 1
    where column_2 = 'X' ;
    insert into table_b ...;
    insert into table_b ...; Statements in KEY-COMMIT trigger:
    post;
    call_form(form_child, no_activate) ;
    CALLING FORM 2:
    Statements in ON-INSERT trigger:
    select column_1
    from table_a
    for update of column_1
    where column_2 = 'X' ;
    update table_a
    set column_1 = column_1 + 1
    where column_2 = 'X' ;
    insert into table_b ...;
    insert into table_b ...;
    insert into table_b ...;
    Our understanding:
    Assume that both the forms are running from two different machines/instances, issuing commit at the same time. In this case, forms will start executing the statements written in ON-INSERT trigger, the moment POST command is executed. Though the commit is issued at the same time, according to oracle, only one of the request will be taken for processing first. Assume that calling form 1 is getting processed first.
    So, it fetches the value available in COLUMN_1 of TABLE_A and locks the row from further select, update, etc. as SELECT...FOR UPDATE command is used (note that NOWAIT is not given, hence the lock will be released only when COMMIT or ROLLBACK happens) and proceed executing further INSERT statements. Because of the lock provided by the SELECT...FOR UPDATE command, the statements in calling form 2 will wait for the resource.
    After executing the INSERT statements, the FORM_CHILD is called. The rows inserted in to TABLE_A will be queried and shown. The database changes will be committed when user closes the window (as COMMIT is issued in its WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED trigger). Then the SELECT...FOR UPDATE lock will be released and calling form 2's statements will be executed.
    Actual happenings or Mis-behavior:
    Calling form 2 starts executing INSERT statements instead of waiting for SELECT...FOR UPDATE lock. Also, the value selected from TABLE_A.COLUMN_1 is same in both the calling forms, which is wrong.
    The rows inserted into TABLE_B are having similar COLUMN_1 values in calling form 2 and they are fetched and shown in the called form FORM_CHILD.
    Note that in calling form 2 also POST only is issued, but the changes posted there are accessible in calling form 1 also, which is wrong.
    Kindly suggest us as to how to fix above problem. It will be much use, if you can send us the information regarding the behavior of Oracle Forms POST built-in also.
    Our mail ID: [email protected]
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    You have several problems:
    1. On-Insert will ONLY run if you have created a new record in a base-table block. If you haven't done that, then the POST command will not cause it to run.
    2. Select for update without a "no wait" will lock records for the first form, but when the second form tries this, it will hit the ORA-00054 exception, and will NOT wait. The only way you could make it wait is to issue an UPDATE sql command, which is not such a good way to go.
    All POST does is issues SQL insert or update commands for any changes the user has made to records in a form's base-table blocks, without following with a Commit command.
    Also understand that Commit is the same as Commit_Form, and Rollback is the same as Clear_Form. You should read up on these in the Forms help topics.

  • Home directory is not created and cannot log from client computer

    I am trying to set up MacOsX server. I already have another server which is my DNS server. I am trying to create an Open Directory Master server.
    Server was updated to 10.4.8 MacOsX from the beginning of existence.
    I created couple of users in Open directory domain for testing purposes.
    So, the first problem is, that when I am trying to create a user home directory server does not create it and does not give any errors about that. I tried in bash createhomedir utility, it did not work either, again, no error messages.
    Another problem:
    I set up Open Directory master with LDAP. It was set up correctly, no error messages. At least I did not see any.
    The I tried to connect to the server from my client iMac computer which has 10.4.8 MacOsX as well. So I set up LDAP there in Directory services, it was able to find my server and bind to it. Then when I am trying to login with username and password in Open Directory on the server, it does nor recognize it. No error messages in logs as well.
    However, if I am trying to use ssh from client machine to connect to Server using the names which are in Open Directory on the server it allows me to do so. But of course it says no home directory defined.
    Than you very much for responce!

    An Open Directory Master requires DNS running somewhere. You could have a scenario involving 4 servers where: DNS is provided by Server A, Server B is a Web & Mail Server, Server C providing FTP Services and Server D providing LDAP services with managed preferences and automounting Home Directories (ODM). In this scenario DNS is provide by Server A and any other server requiring DNS using Server A’s DNS. You could expand this scenario if you wanted and have replica (fallover) servers for Servers A, B C or D, or if you are the frugal sort just one replica server replicating the 4 primary servers. You can do all of this pretty much in 10.4 GUI with some additional configuration using Terminal
