OMNIPORTLET no longer an Available Portlet

OMNIPORTLET (along with the other out-of-the-box portlets) are no longer options when I am building a portal and trying to use portlets.
At first none of the Omniportets that I was using on my pages would work. I tried to create a new form using an Omniportlet and it let me select Omniportlet but when I clicked OK it gave me an error. I looked up the error on metalink and it said to Refresh the Portlet Repository.
After refreshing the repository Omniportlet no longer showed up as an option.
I don't know if it is related to this, but I discovered that the Portal password had expired. I got admin to reset it and I once again Refreshed the Portlet Repository but Omniportlet stills does show up.
My admin says he hasn't done anything to the system, but I am dead in the water.
HELP!!!!

Was a patch recently applied to the portal? I had an issue with it going away after applying the 9.0.4.2 patchset. I had missed a step in the post-installation that copied web.xml files for it from the portalTools.pre9042 directory to the current portalTools directory.

Hiding portlets in the Available Portlets List

Cant seem to find a way to control who sees what in the Available Portlets List. It is obviously possible to hide the portlets from unauthorized users. For example regular user will only see Services Portlet in the Portlet Repository->Administration->Portal, while the user with more privileges will also see Export/Import.
However I have a number of portlets that I want only be available to a certain group of users. Lets say HR should have access to the portlet and no one else. I could tweak permissions of the pages and portlets so that portlet will disappear from the page for the unauthorized user, and such user will receive an error if he attempts to add this portlet to the page. But he can still see the portlet in the Available Portlets List. Not only that means that user often has a list of 50 items when he actually can only use 5 (very user-unfriendly IMO), but there are portlets I simple dont want unauthorized people to know about.
I thought Changing Provider Access rules will do it, but it seems to have no effect, or perhaps I just cant figure it out.
Ill appreciate any thoughts or ideas.

The portlet repository is a somewhat special page group. Enable item level security in the page group and assign the required privileges to users or groups of users to your providers/portlets listed in the portlet repository as sub-pages and items.
Also, by moving around the items and sub-pages representing your portlets and providers you can easily re-arrange the view of portlet repository exposed through the Add Portlets page.

Customize the display of portlets in Available Portlets frame

Hi,
Is there a way in which we can customize the appearance of portlets and providers in the "Available Portlets" frame of the "Add Portlets to Region" page? We have a large number of portlets and providers and would like to classify and display them to the users when they customize the page. This sort of thing has been done on my.oracle.com.
Any inputs/suggestions will be appreciated.

The Portlet Repository is a standard Content Area.
1 - Go in the portlet repository
2 - Click on edit button (top right og the page)
3 - Now you can re-oraganize it

Songs I bought a year ago no longer appear available or as "Purchased" in the store. Can someone help me?

I noticed this this morning when I activated iTunes Match on my iPhone. Songs I bought do not even display as "Purchased" in the store. The purchases are logged in my Apple ID bill history.

It is possible. Do note that some items may no longer be available for download for various reasons, such as if the content was removed from iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store, sign in if not already, under the Quick Links section on the home page, click Purchased. Then click the Not on This Computer button to see all songs you've purchased but do not exist in your iTunes library.
Or if you attempt to purchase the item again, it should recognize you've already purchased it and let you download it free of charge.

Photos over IMG_9999 appear to no longer be available from PC?

iPhone 6 running iOS8.1
Photos over IMG_9999 appear to no longer be available from a PC in "Internal Storage\DCIM"? I leave all photos on my phone (why not it's 128GB right?) and on my PC too (it's part of my backup strategy). I'm up to around 12500 photos. Prior to upgrading to iOS8 / iPhone 6 there used to be lots of seemingly randomly named folders such as "872BKMTH" and "892ZLWLR" under "Computer\My iPhone\Internal Storage\DCIM" but now there are only two folders. One folder has images IMG_0001 to IMG_9999 in and the other just has two app created movies in... so there question is.. where are the rest of my photos and how can I now get them onto my PC?
I've tried looking for them through iFunBox but I still can't see the photos i get folders Camera, Camera 2 to Camera 8 but looking at all these I still can't find the latest photos and movies?
Bit stumped :-( Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Incidentally the single folder with 9999 images in takes far too long to load.. what was wrong with the dozen or so folders from before?

There's no problem with my ADSL. I can watch all IPTV channels (Amazon, iPlayer etc) with excellent results.
MY problem, along, I should think, with many others is a consequence of being forced to use Chromecast.
One of the many limitations of this device is that it only works properly with Android or iOS devices.   Under Android, the Tablet or 'phone runs an App and is simply a controller: the content is then streamed DIRECTLY to the TV via Chromecast.
With Windows there is no App.   You have to "cast" a browser tab, which means that the content (Football match etc) goes to the TV FROM the Tablet or PC.   Even on pages where it works, this causes serious deterioration of the picture quality.
It doesn't work at all with BT Sport.
Unfortunately BT Sport's TV player on Windows uses Silverlight.   Chromecast doesn't support casting content which uses Silverlight. This wouldn't be a problem if there was a Chromecast App for Windows, but Google has refused to develop one, and prevents anyone else from doing so.
The consequence of all this is that anybody in my position who is not prepared to buy either an iPhone\iPad or some Android Tablet or 'phone will not be able to use BT Sport when it is no-longer broadcast.
The substance of my question boils down to this:
Why can't BT provide either a "player" on BT Vision or their YouView box which would allow me to continue watch BT Sport live, OR use a non-proprietary technology that allows Windows users to watch on their TV.

Sidebar 'Shared' no longer lists available windows shares. MacBook Pro (10.6.7) shows up on iMac and vice versa, but Windows 7 machines don't nor an old Buffalo LinkStation. The Windows shares don't show up when browsing the network either. The only way to connect is to use Go > Connect to Server (Command K), smb://ip address or NetBIOS. The shares are then listed in the sidebar, but disappear when disconnected. Is this something that has been introduced by design in an update?

Ok, now you're down to network or permissions issues. An unedited ipconfig /all
of server and problem workstation may help. You could also try setting up some auditing.

The current version of Discoverer Portlet does not support Page Parameter. This is planned for the next release of the portlet.
The demonstrations available on http://portalstudio.oracle.com/portaltools will show you step by step how to use the Simple Parameter Form to raise an event, that will send parameters to a portal page.

How can I find out when movies on some On Demand Channels will no longer be available on Demand?

I have been a customer of Verizon's FIOS TV service for 4 months now and I enjoy watching "On-Demand" movies and TV shows. For some channels, like HBO On Demand and Showtime On Demand, the onscreen guide clearly states how long a program will be available for "on demand" viewing. For example, the film "A Single Man" will have at the end of the description a notice saying "Ends 3/24" or whenever the date is.
However, there are some "On Demand" channels like Starz on Demand, EPIX on Demand, Encore on Demand, and Independent Film Channel (IFC) on Demand which don't state when the program they are showing on demand will cease being available on demand.
There must be a listing or website or some other method of indicating when programs on these channels will cease being available to watch "on demand".
Please let me know where this information is located and how to access it.

Film11: I have never seen the "inverted triangle" that you mention in your reply. Where in the onscreen guide do you see this triangle? Can you please give me an example of a movie currently on demand which is displaying this triangle so I can find it on my own?
Spacedebris: Is it really true that Starz, Encore, EPIX, and IFC don't know themselves how long a movie will be available on demand? I can imagine them extending the time a film will be available on demand if it is popular, but surely there must be some minimum time period they put it on demand.
There has to be some way of finding this information and it should be readily available to subsribers who need to prioritize what they watch so as not to miss out on watching an on-demand film they wanted to see because they lacked the information when it would be pulled off-schedule.

Finder Menus No Longer List Available GB

I'm a photographer often switching between machines, and with my new camera and doing video some of my projects can be upwards of 50 GB. I often work switching between projects, and even with a MacBook Pro form 2009 — I need to be able to see the amount of storage space available on my machine easily.
This used to be evident in any finder menu at the bottom, as well as the number of items in the folder you had open (also important so that I can check that I have exported/transferred the correct number of files for each project.) Also, sometimes when I click on a folder and "command+I" to get info, it will not list the size, but instead reads something like "//-"
How do I enable this in the Finder? I downloaded a program similar to Disc Inventory X that runs with Lion, but it's a pain to run that constantly be checking data sizes and it takes 10+ to run.
Any help sooooooo apprecaited!

I tried doing that already — the real problem I'm trying to solve is that I want to be able to open a finder window for any file on my external drives or my hard drive, and I want to simply see the amount of space in GB available there.
I've messed around with checking the boxes in the "view options" and that doesn't seem to give me the simple sum of all the contents, and what is available. Also I don't understand why in this update one must set the view options for each individual folder over and over again, and can't apply them universally. Maybe I'm missing that part.
I really do appreciate your response — do you have any other ideas? Specifically why when I get info for a folder it's not able to calculate the size of the files and sub-folders as it had done in previous OS X versions?

Help, kid set restriction code and forgot it. she also set up her icloud thing with a typo'd (therfore nonexistent) email. I tried to make the email exist but "live" is no longer an available domain...have more info but no more characters...

Can't restrict an app because there is a restricton passcode that no one knows. Can't reset phone without it. Can't reset it in apple id mangement because she did a typo in her email address when setting the phone up. I would just create that email but "live" is no longer a usable domain. What do i do? Oh and the phone was given to her by someone who was getting a new phone so there is no warranty or insurance or anything of that nature.

Adobe Updater no longer detecting available updates?

Using CS. I am currently using the latest version of OSX on a MacPro desktop and Macbook Pro laptop. Has the Adobe Updater stopped working with the recent OSX update? It was working fine on my desktop not too long ago. But I just purchased a laptop and the Adobe Updater (whether launched from the standalone app or through Photoshop) does not seem to detect updates. It does the usual scanning of all programs and then concludes with the "no updates found" message. I had to manually download each update and install it. I can't say for certain if the updater has ceased functioning on my desktop, as my software on the desktop is up to date.
I've tried this both wirelessly and plugged directly into Ethernet.
Any suggestions on things to check or troubleshoot, or are others have similar issues?

Hmm, maybe we are on to something and it is related to the latest OSX updates?
A couple weeks ago, I bought the laptop, installed CS4, and updates were detected just fine. Updates were being detected on my Mac Pro as well. I then had to return the laptop for a replacement, set up the new laptop and installed all the OSX updates, then installed CS4, went to grab all the CS4 updates with the updater and discovered it was not finding them. I decided to uninstall CS4 completely and reinstall, but no luck.
I guess I'll need to pay attention and wait until Adobe releases a new update to see if my desktop is missing them as well. If both my desktop and laptop are not seeing the updates, then something is amiss.

TS4002 iCloud works fine but have to log into iCloud mail on line. It is no longer is available from desktop icon on the dock

On the imac, I have to log in to icloud to get mail. Clicking on the mail icon on the bottom no longer works. I get mail fine on the ipad and iphone. What gives?

Go to System Preferences > iCloud and check if the Mail option is ticked. If it doesn't work, try to log out and log in
