On_commit trigger!!!!

Hi,
I want to use on-commit trigger in Custom.pll. Can any body tell me how to use on-commit trigger using custom.pll? I want to catch the committing event in a form using Custom.pll. That is when a user saves changes to the database before that I want to popup a message. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks again for all your help. I soved this issue using commit_form. When the user clicks on the popped up message it gets committed. But I am facing one situation. I am using when-new-block-instance. The message is popping up before the block comes up. I mean say if I click a button on Block A then I want it to navigate to block B and then pop up the message, so that when I click on the message it gets committed.
But it is popping up the messge before it navigates to block B. So when I click on the message it is getting committed and then block B is coming up. What I want is navigate to block B first and then popup the message. Again what I have to do, I have to do it using Custom.pll.
To over come this I used

In 1994, there was a "Oracle Forms Processing Manual" (Oracle part# A11990-2).
This book contained the visual representation of Oracle Forms processes showing where each trigger fires.
Where is this "flow-chart" in documentation available today?
I need to know the explicit chronological sequence of each trigger firing....
Pre-Form trigger fires first...then the When-New-Form-Instance....etc

Need to know where it is defined about which trigger fires before or after which other trigger….
The whole sequence…every trigger…
Example:
Document must show stuff like ON-COMMIT fires before(or after) POST-DELETE.
So I am certain that when a delete is initiated by the user, the ON-COMMIT fires before(or after), and so data in the database record is still available(or not available) to the code in the ON_COMMIT trigger.
This helps me know for certain what really happens, step-by-step, when Forms deletes a record.
So the document must show a visual representation of the DELETE EVENT.
This visual representation must explicitly show the ON-COMMIT trigger and the PRE-DELETE trigger and the ON-DELETE trigger and the POST-DELETE trigger…

Trigger di On_Commit

I'm call a procedure (from trigger On_Commit) that insert and update a DB table, from a window that have two blocks:
The first(Master) all composed by Unbound Items.
The Second Blok(Details) is based on an non-updatable View, and one field for selection (check-box).
I receive an error FRM-40737 - Procedure GO_Block not admitted in trigger On_Commit.
Can anyone help me??

Getting error message FRM-40700:No such trigger: SPECIAL20

Hi,
We have designed a custom report (Quote) and would like to use Special Menu's(Reports Menu) to open this custom Report. When I try to open this Report using
REPORTS->Quote, The Report is opening seccuessfully but i am getting following error message at the bottom of screen bar.How can I clear this message ?

your package " app_special" does a call to "execute_trigger('SPECIAL20');" ,
but there is no trigger with this name in your form. ( perhaps an Menu-item exists with this name.)
Lock for "execute_trigger" in:

I am only a Lab View toddler.
I am currently using a push button, wired to PFIO/TRIG1 and DGND, with a anolog trigger. However noise is causing my program to be triggered. I was told that a digital trigger would help to reduce the random triggering. How do I create a push button digital trigger?

Link to trigger a .pdf or .doc file to show in presentation

I would like to add a link that would trigger the showing of a .pdf file or a .doc file within the presentation itself. I can do this in powerpoint. There must be some way to do this in Keynote, but I can't figire out how to do this. Thanks for any ideas.

Keynote does not allow links to anything but other Keynote presentations, websites, or email. However, you can use Expose or Command-Tab to quickly switch to a PDF or Word file.

Error in execuitng a trigger

I am getting the following error in executing while executing the "dropping the trigger " , "creating a trigger " . or executing any stored proc .
Please advise .
I am on 10g Release 2 on Redhat linux .

I was able to resolve this by setting a undocumented parameter "_system_trig_enabled"=FALSE .
But , I have a logon trigger . If I set this to FALSE , logon trigger does not kick in .
How to have a logon trigger working and to avoid this error ?

Error while creating a simple trigger in Oracle8i Lite

I have Oracle8i Lite release 4.0.
I want to create a simple trigger on 8i Lite.
first I created .java file and got the .class file after successful compilation.
The .class file is sitting in my local C:\ drive.
I have a table having only two columns in 8i Lite and the structure is

Then I issued the command :

After that getting the following error :

I just started with 8i Lite, but as far as I know 8i Lite does not support PL/SQL code.
So you have to write your triggers and stored procedures in Java.

As a trigger is executed in the db and not in your app it's really hard to help as you did not give any useful information.

Multiple Rows Update / Refresh Toplink Query when database trigger involved

Hi everybody!
I have two easy troubles for you; the platform is the same as the SRDemo Toplink version.
1. Multiple Rows Update: I want to update with mergeEntity method, multiple rows for an isolated table; that method receives a parameter that I try to bind with the iterator "dataProvider" but it only merges the first row, not all, any other combination returns an error.
What I want to do is to have a form (like tabular forms in Apex) that lets me update multiple rows in a single page. ¿May anyone tell me how to do it?
2. Refresh Toplink Named Query: I have a list on a page with two columns. From another page, a button does an action that fires a database trigger that updates one of the columns on the list´s page. When I go back to the list, it is not updated; however, the CacheResults´s property is set to false on the iterator.

I didn't use it (yet), but - you might take a look. You'll find a [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/apex-plug-ins-182042.html]Timer plug-in on this page. It is a dynamic action which allows you to periodically fire other dynamic actions in the browser. For example use the timer to refresh a region every five minutes. You can perform any dynamic action you want using this infrastructure.So I was thinking: you might use it to run a dynamic action which would check whether something changed in that table (I suppose you'll know the way) (for example, a database trigger might set a flag in some table, timestamp or similar), and - if you find that something really changed - refresh the page.
As I said, I never used it so that's pure theory. Someone else might know better, though.

Can "trigger" management be addressed in the data modeler?

Please add an easier way to add/modify triggers.
I reverse-engineered my model into the data modeler and my triggers all migrated correctly to the model but, for the life of me, had no idea how to view, modify or create triggers. After extensive research, I found that they can be accessed in the left-hand Browser by drilling some 8 levels to view the triggers for each table - why? Why can't this functionality be added to properties context menu for the table. I'm not a big advocate for triggers but if I need to work on one, the current methodology is tedious at best.
Of course, if there's some other way to do this, please inform...

While I occasionally use SQL Developer, I currently use PL/SQL Developer (Allround Automations) as my development tool of choice and bringing a 3rd tool as SQL Developer into the mix, makes no sense to me.
I completely agree that managing a trigger via a development tool is much easier but one occasionally wants to quickly add a trigger either manually or via a template and this is not easy currently.
While functions, procedures, package, etc. are all important to a data model, the existence of most triggers are completely dependent on a table and are a critical component in any model that uses them. The ability to access and modify them easily in Data Modeler is important and shouldn't be an afterthought as is perceived here. If trigger access cannot be added to the Table Properties (as noted in the image below), at the very least, please provide a shortcut methodology to do so.

Inserting into a table which is created "on the fly" from a trigger

Hello all,
I am trying to insert into a table from a trigger in Oracle form. The table name however, is inputted by the user in am item form.
here is what the insert looks like:
insert into :table_name
values (:value1, :value2);
the problem is that forms does not recognize ::table_name. If I replace :table_name with an actual database table, it works fine. However, I need to insert to a table_name based from oracle form item.
By the way, the table|_name is built on the fly using a procedure before I try to insert into it.
Any suggestion on how can I do that? My code in the trigger is:

HSDIO conditionally fetch hardware compare sample errors (script trigger to flag whether or not to wait for software trigger)

I am moderately new to Labview and definitely new to the HSDIO platform, so my apologies if this is either impossible or silly!
I am working on a system that consists of multiple PXI-6548 modules that are synchronized using T-CLK and I am using hardware compare. The issue I have is that I need to be able to capture ALL the failing sample error locations from the hardware compare fetch VI... By ALL I mean potentially many, many more fails than the 4094 sample error depth present on the modules.
My strategy has been to break up a large waveform into several subsets that are no larger than 4094 samples (to guarantee that I can't overflow the error FIFO) and then fetch the errors for each block. After the fetch is complete I send a software reference trigger that is subsequently exported to a scriptTrigger that tells the hardware it is OK to proceed (I do this because my fetch routine is in a while loop and Labview says that the "repeated capbility has not yet been defined" if I try to use a software script trigger in a loop).
This works fine, but it is also conceivable that I could have 0 errors in 4094 samples. In such a case what I would like to do is to skip the fetching of the hardware compare errors (since there aren't any) and immediately begin the generation of the next block of the waveform. That is, skip the time where I have to wait for a software trigger.
I tried to do this by exporting the sample error event to a PFI and looping that PFI back in to generate a script trigger. What I thought would happen was that the script trigger would get asserted (and stay asserted) if there was ever a sample error in a block, then I could clear the script trigger in my script. However, in debug I ended up exporting this script trigger back out again and saw that it was only lasting for a few hundred nanoseconds (in a case where there was only 1 injected sample error)... The sample error event shows up as a 1-sample wide pulse.
So, my question is this: is there a way to set a flag to indicate that at least one sample error occurred in a given block that will persist until I clear it in my script? What I want to do is below...

I want scriptTrigger1 to be asserted only if there was a sample error in any block of 4094 and it needs to stay asserted until it is cleared in the script. scriptTrigger0 is the software trigger that will be sent only if a fetch is performed. Again, the goal being that if there were no sample errors in a block, the waiting for scriptTrigger0 will not occur.
I am probably going about it all wrong (obviously since it doesn't work), so any help would be much appreciated!

Please disregard most of my previous post... after some more debug work today I have been able to achieve the desired effect at slower frequencies. I did straighten out my script too:

However, I am still having a related issue.
I am exporting the Sample Error Event to a PFI line, looping that back in on another PFI line, and having the incoming version of the Sample Error Event generate a script trigger. My stimulus has a single injected sample error for debug. For additional debug I am exporting the script trigger to yet another PFI; I have the sample error event PFI and the script trigger PFI hooked up to a scope.
If I run the sample clock rate less than ~133MHz everything works... I can see the sample error event pulse high for one clock period and the script trigger stays around until it is consumed by my script's if statement.
Once I go faster than that I am seeing that the script trigger catches the sample error event occasionally. The faster I go, the less often it is caught. If I widen out the error to be 2 samples wide then it will work every time even at 200MHz.
I have tried PFI0-3 and the PXI lines as the output terminal for the sample error event and they all have the same result (this implies the load from the scope isn't the cause).
I don't know what else to try? I can't over sample my waveform because I need to run a true 200MHz. I don't see anything that would give me any other control over the sample error event in terms of its pulsewidth or how to export it directly to a script trigger instead of how I'm doing it.
Any other ideas?
