On enter event for cells in ALV

In standard table we have an action 'On Enter' for the cell editor.
how to create the same in ALV ?

Hi,
In the View where you will be embedding the ALV, create an event handler under the methods tab. Select Event from F4 Help. you will be able to see all the events that are poosible with ALV. Select the Event ON_CELL_ACTION.
I am assuming that you have created a component usage for SALV_WD_TABLE component.

Problem entering formula for Cell Reference in Query

Hi,
In a query, I need to enter a formula in a cell reference
1.
Following instructions on Help.sap, I was supposed to In Query Designer, choose View ® Cells from the menu bar to reach the functions of the cell definition
I could not see these options, BUT, I saw an icon called Cell Reference.
Is that the way? Why this difference with the instruction?
2.
While following cell reference icon, I saw my rows and columns and I wanted to put a formula at the intersection of the row, Product A and the column, YTD Adjusted Amount.
The formula is as follows:
(reference_cell_30 > 0 ) * reference_cell_30
When I entered ( .i.e. the parenthesis in the formula box it was ok but it wont allow me to enter the rest of the formula.
What could be wrong?
What is the best approach to make the entries?
Also, in this IDES test case, is reference_cell_30 referring to a cell as in MS Excel cells?

No we can't treat Rows as one structure and columns as second structure....can u send screen shot of u r Query designer [email protected]..will get back to u how a structure looks like...
unless and ubtil u have structures in u r Query,cell definition cant be enabled...

Table event for cell selection

Hi,
I want to be able to find out which cell was selected by the user in a table.
This is usually handled by the onLeadSelect event. However, this event is not fired if the user only changes the column in the same table row.
Is there a way to become aware of the chosen cell (InputField, which does not have to be edited, just clicked).

Exactly this is my question. Is there an "onFocus", "onClick" event or has somebody encountered the problem and solved it somehow?

How to trigger ENTER event in oo ALV grid

Hi,
Can anybody help me out in catching the ENTER event in the oo ALV Grid. My requirement is as follows,
I have oo ALV Grid displaying hell lot of columns, in that vendor number column is an editable field so when the user enters the vendor number the immediate next cell showing the vendor name should be populated with the corresponding name as soon as he press enter button, I have search help also for vendor field.
Please give me some sample program which i can just do the copy+paste sort of as today is the deadline for the object.

Enter event not triggering for read-only checkbox

I have some objects in a form that get "locked" when the user signs the form. I'm not using the digital signatures. Instead, when the user types their name into the signature text field, a script runs on the change event that makes all of the fields in the form read only. It also unlocks the fields if the signature is deleted.
I was worried that we would get a lot of phone calls with users that didn't understand that the form had locked ("Why doesn't this form work?!"), so I added some code to the enter event for all of the fields that would pop up a messagebox to explain to people trying to edit a signed form that the form was locked and that they would need to delete the signature to edit the form.
This plan works perfect for my text fields and decimal fields. It does NOT work at all for my checkboxes. For some reason, the enter event is never triggered for read-only checkboxes. I don't see any other events that would obviously work for me though. Any ideas?

Thanks, those are reasonable suggestions.
In the first suggestion, I'm unclear about one aspect of how I would accomplish this. I assume I would allow people to modify fields in the form, but that when they did, a msgbox would pop up that would inform them that, if they continued with this modification to a signed form, the signature would be removed. I'm all good to that point. But if they answered that they do not want to continue modifying that field and removing the signature, how can I code it to set the value back to what it was before the change? Is there some method that will give me access to the value of the field BEFORE the attempted modification? I went looking for something like $.previousvalue, but found nothing.
I'd suggest that I could use a two-stage solution, in which I store the previous value on the enter event, and save it just in case they do not want to change the field when prompted by the msgbox, but since the enter event does not exist for checkboxes (my original problem), that seems like it won't work.
As far as radio button suggestion, I like radio buttons very much except for one fatal flaw: they aren't (as far as I can tell) clearable. That is a shame. Clearly some people (like me) want both exclusivity AND clearability. And we'd like the controls to have an enter event. But I know I'm demanding Anyway, as it is, I just end up having to use checkboxes and create a boatload of silly code to make them exclusive.

Event for the List Box in ALV Grid Control

Hello,
I have the below urgent requirment.
I have an ALV Grid Control built using ABAP Objects. In the grid, I have few fields and one of these fields is a List Box. Depending on the values selected, I need to enable or disable some fields. So, is there any event for the List box in ALV Grid Control.
For ex: I have 2 Fields, Designation and Commission. The designation field is a List Box field having 'Software Engineer' and 'Manager' as values. When I select 'Software Engineer', the commission field should be disabled. When I select 'Manager', the comission field should be enabled.

Abap WD ALV: Event for calculation row?

Hi,
i have one Abap WebDynpro ALV Component. It is possible to register an event (ON_CLICK) for Cells which are an Link_to_action for example.
My Table:
ID | Group | Var
A1 | Test | 4
A2 | Test | 5
A3 | Dev | 4
A4 | Dev | 6
If i create the ON_CLICK event for the last row, which is then a link_to_action column, i can click on the numbers and the event is triggered
Now i have a table which uses the ALV Calculation feature and the Intermediate Results for the grouping.
My new output view is:
ID | Group | Var
->---Test 9
A1 | Test | 4
A2 | Test | 5
->---Dev 10
A3 | Dev | 4
A4 | Dev | 6
(It calculates the sum of the vars and groups it by the second column)
Now I need an Event if someone clicks on the numbers in the Var Row of the intermediate results row (here: 9 and 10). How can i do this?
If this is not possible, how can i register an event if someone expands or collapses a intermediate result row?

Is the DDLBK is filled with support function? if yes then look if you can enhance the method by post method exit etc..

Which Event must i create, if users write something in the ALV row and press to key "enter" ???

Capture ENTER event in alv

Hi friends ,
I want capture "enter " event whenever user presses enter at ALV fields .
Well i have used an event "handle data changed" but then it wont get triggered
Unless data in ALV field is changed .
Please suggest me how to capture event without data getting changed ,
As i want validate data , when user presses enter on alv fields .

If you want to trigger PAI for Enter key even when no data is changed, then you need to set I_APPL_EVENTS flag when creating the alv grid.
create object alv_grid
exporting
i_parent = cust_ctrl
i_appl_events = 'X'.
But this may bring in more problems because you have to now call check_changed_Data in PAI which will trigger data_Changed, but there are workarounds.

Flex 4 does not dispatch keyboard events for ENTER key.

Hello everyone. I think I have a strange problem with Flex 4 Beta (4.0.0.8909). My application has had event listener for keyUp event for a month now and suddenly (two days ago) I've noticed that keyUp event is not dispatched for ENTER (ALT also) key. Anyone know why? By the way, I've tried this with keyDown event, also 4.0.0.8847 version of SDK - still the same: no keyboard events for ENTER (and ALT) key.
Here is the sample application that has got this issue:

If you run this application and try typing anything in a TextArea you will get alerts with key codes. However, if you press ENTER (or ALT), you will get no alert.
I'm pretty sure the code above is right so that means there is a bug in latest nightly builds of SDK (i would swhitch to an older build if i knew which one does not have this bug).
Any ideas?

The enter key isn't being disposed of by textedit, the attached example code works without error if you a- remove the alert box and b-set the focus to your text area on initialisation. I agree that pressing the enter key then calling a dialog box will result in the enter key being "gobbled up" as the enter key is overridden by the dialog box code.
I think the first suggestion should be to anyone don't use dialogboxes for testing code. If for some reason debugging isn't desirable instead of a trace statement a simple label can be used as a 'fake' trace.

Possible to have vertical scroll bar for a cell in ALV Grid (using methods)

Hi All,
I have a field with length 100 characters on a ALV Grid (using methods)..User doesn't want to scroll all the 100 characters horizontally to see the whole text rather he wants to have a vertical scroll bar for the cell so that he can scroll vertically.
Is it possible to have split the cell text into lines and have a vertical scroll bar for a cell in ALV Grid?

Thanks for the suggestion Balu.I tried this , but while scrolling,headers also getting scrolled.
Becoz of this , if i scroll down to the last row,headers are getting hidden.
Headers should always be static.only the data should scroll.
Since h:datatable is being rendered as one table , i can div tag for this table alone.
If i have seperate datatable for headers alone i can do this .But i should not use two datatables.
