I am trying to download music onto my phone and it is saying I need to answer sercurity questions and the questions they are asking I have never answered before therefore I don't know the answers and so when I put the answers I think it is they are wrong I don't know how to fix this I answered the questions twice and so I need help to answer them as I don't want to lock my phone please help me

If you have an existing ID, & you don't want to use a credit card, you'll have to redeem an iTunes gift card. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to create a new ID by following the directions here, EXACTLY:

The problem you describe sounds like a bad network speed. Did you say you're uploading stuff to iTunes Match at the same time you attempt a download? Cause that might be the cause.

If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you have a credit card on your account then its details have to complete - and asking for their details is also a way of checking that you have a valid billing address in that country. As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these). Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above. As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

Error message when trying to download purchased songs

I purchased some albums on my ipad that synced to my iphone. I'm now trying to download my purchases to my library stored on my PC, but I'm getting an error/warning message along the lines of:
"You can download past purchases for up to 90 days.....You cannot assign another apple id to this computer for the next 30 days".
Does anyone have any ideas? I did have to sign my wife out of itunes before i signed in to download my songs so i assuming its something to do with that.

I am having the same problem. (err = -3259) and it's not listed in any of the error codes in Apple Support. Weird. Why have an error code and no reference for it.
First it happened when I tried to download a movie and I kept "checking for purchases" - didn't work - checked all my ad filters, privacy filters, firewall settings - didn't work. Then I forgot for a day, went back and it worked. Now I have three episodes of a TV show that will not download and I am getting the same error message. Hmmmm. Head into your Problem reports and solutions control panel. Check your Problem History. Are there problem reports showing up in there which always seem to be recorded when the iTunes crashes happen? (The events may not necessarily be listed as iTunes problem reports ... so check through the entire problem history for reports produced as the same time as the iTunes crashes.)
If you find such problem reports, doubleclick on them to show more information about the problem. Could you please paste copies of the contents of the typical examples of problem reports into a reply here so we can have a look at them?
