-- On-save RPT file, source code is emptied --

Dear,
I have converted a C# project to the latest CR2010 for VS 2010
I have 1 RPT file and each time I want to save it, the source code (behind) is emptied.
For example, my report named by 'crpPV.rpt' has a code-behind C# file crpPV.cs.  That .cs file is emptied when I save the rpt file in Visual Studio 2010.
This behaviour only happens for this certain rpt-file in my project. For all other RPT-files in the same project, I don't have any problems (with editing/running).
Can someone help me locate the issue with this report?
When I try to run the application and show the report, the application crashes ( could not load the report...)
For all other reports, everything works well.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Jens

Can you answer my last question? How do you load the .rpt file in code?
Are you using it as a ReportDocument or as a strongly-typed report?
ReportDocument Code
string filename = "c:\folder\myreport.rpt"
ReportDocument boReportDocument = new ReportDocument();
boReportDocument.Load(filename);
Strongly Typed Report
MyReportName boReport = new MyReportName();

  • Save weblog with source code

    Hi,
Does anyone an easy way of downloading weblogs with source codes?
If I select all/copy&paste into Microsoft Word 2000 (SP3), the source codes get this "nice" frame, where they are scrollable. When I save it and open it again, the source code is not scrollable, so I can only diplay the part of it:-(
Is there a way of avoid it from my side?
I know from the composer side it can be done, as foir example Sergei did in his weblog:
    /people/sergey.korolev/blog/2005/03/14/the-time-for-me-to-have-a-badi-of-my-own
Or is it planned to change this annoying scrollable code frame?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Printing of Weblogs
Take a look at that thread for some possible help.
As for the "annoying scrollable code frame" well we've been doing it for awhile now and nobody has been complaining too loudly.
If the thought of everyone is to be rid of the textarea then I suppose I wouldn't have a problem using the styles instead.

  • Why does the Save As File command create an empty .eml file?

When I use the >Save As >File command with a selected email, a .eml file is created with the right name, but it is empty.
    I am using Thunderbird 31.2.0 on OS X 10.8.5.

    (1) Our office computer has the full website - and the same folders that
are on the server. Essentially a mirror image. We were saving the corrected
html  file into the folders we had already set up on the computer. Then FTP'd
    it  later.
    (2) We set up the local site in DMW indicating that we will not be using
"server technology", "edit local copies on my machine and then upload to  the
server," "files stored on my computer", "how to connect to remote server -
none" (we use a separate FTP program to upload).

  • Process Multiple Files:"source folder is empty"

When i try to select a particular  folder I get the message,"the source folder is empty".
The folder does have images in it,having checked in preview and file info and  double clicking on it.
It seems only to be affecting this particular folder.
    Any ideas people?
    Thanks in advance!

The issue can be due to:
    1) Space in the folder name.
    2) Some specific permissions or file types etc.
I would suggest creating a new folder and copy your images into it and try.
ALso in case you still have an issue please share the exact location name or screenshot of the settings you doing in PMF dialog box.

  • Very Easy Question: How to view source code of JAR file

    Hi Experts,
    1) Can we can see the content of JAR file?
    2) How we can we see content of JAR file?
    3) I have with me JAR file. It is sap.compcui_gpoadp~ObjectAndDataProvider.JAR. I have to make some changes in the JAR file source code. How I can find the source code?
I tried to see the source code using NWDS. However, I can not see the code.

You cannot do this by simple repacking/rearchiving of JAR, because it contains special descriptor with fingerprint. In general, JAR is unmodifiable, however, you can create a new one with modified sources.
You can try to import the JAR in some Java project in Eclipse, for example. Then make your changes and use the Eclipse's Export JAR wizard in order to repack the modified source Java files in a new JAR.

I general, yes, the operation is allowed. However, you cannot do this with JAR deployed on some J2EE server or Portal, for example. Because there are references to it.

Yes, sure. Use Import from Archive wizard in Eclipse. Or add the JAR in the class path of some Java project and Eclipse will show you the content of it.

  • How to release top-level VI (only) source code?

    Hello,
I am developing an addon to an application I already have. The application is large (over 1,500 VI's) and the VIs are set up to compile with mostly default settings (there's a top-level VI, a few with Front Panel visible, most of them are not visible).
The customer wants the source code to the work I'm going to do, and it's going to use many existing sub-VI's. The addon itself will be a sub-VI (I have a Main.vi that basically opens 'screens', and this is a new screen). The existing sub-VI's basically do the data collection and processing, and the new code will do some additional processing and have a nice GUI to the existing code. The customer wants the source so they can make modifications as needed.
Is there any easy way to provide just the source for the top-level VI? Basically, I want to give them M.vi, where M.vi calls n.vi, o.vi... etc, but o-z.vi need to remain closed-source. Also, M.vi is called by Main.vi, which opens screens A-M.vi
One option is do copy the entire application, then open every sub-VI and save it without Source Code. But with so many files, this seems like a bad idea. I also then have to maintain two applications.
Any good ideas out there? It seems so easy in other languages (use object files) that it seems like there should be a solution here I'm not seeing.... Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Dont know if this is the best solution for you, but you can create a "virtual folder" in the LabVIEW project with all the sub-VIs that you want to keep closed-source. Then create Source Distribution build specifications in the project and remove the block diagrams assign passwords to all VIs in the virtual folder. See attached pics.

  • Apache TomCat 6.0 - Generate Servlet Source Code

    sup java experts,
does anyone know how I can view the Servlet source code that's generated by the JSP engine?

lol...thanks. I know it sounds like a dumb question after having read your answer but I thought TomCat (by default) doesn't save the auto-generated .java files and that i'd have to turn on that feature somehow.
Anyway, just to wrap up this question for future viewers, it turns out TomCat 6.0 does save the servlet source code generated by the JSP engine. I found mine in
    C:\web\Tomcat 6.0\work\Catalina\localhost\_\org\apache\jsp\marc\test_jsp.java
Tomcat 6.0 = my installation folder
marc = a folder I created under the "ROOT" directory (the folder where you put your .jsp files so that the server can find them)
    Thanks again njb7ty!

    Hi stejsky,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
    >>In my project I use the option /doc to generate XML doc file from my source codes but unfortunately in the output XML file there are mixed also comments from original MFC source codes.
Based on your issue, could you please tell me how you use the option /doc to generate XML doc file from your source codes?
If you use the option /doc to generate the XML doc file by right-click the your MFC project->Properties->Configuration Properties->C/C++->Output file->set the Generate XML document files as Yes(/doc) like the following screen shot.
(1)If yes, since we could not reproduce your issue in mu side, so if possible, I suggest you could share me your MFC project so that we will further help you support this issue.
You could upload your MFC project to the OneDrive and then copy link here.
(2)If no, please try the above way to generate XML doc file and then check if you still get same issue.

  • How to Save a File form a JAVA code into the CDrive

Hello, i need to create a file and save it in the Cdrive of my computer.
I could create the file and get the command prompt to ask me the file name to save it.
However, my problem is that the file is saved in the Cdrive with nothing inside! I can manage to save the file and give it a name, but i can't save the inside of it... the page comes blank...

I'm not great with IO yet, but I see you use
out.write(CopyBase); But I only see you initialize CopyBase to equal an empty String.
So it should be writing nothing to the file.

  • How do I save PDF files by default to the folder of the source file?

How do I save PDF files by default to the folder of the source file with Acrobat 9.0.0 Standard?

I am not seeing that behaviour. If I right-click a link to a .pdf file, I get the file saved with the original filename.
Maybe one of the settings in about:config controls that?
pdfjs.previousHandler.preferredAction is a setting that has a value of 4 with my setup. I have no idea what that means, and I could not find any explanation anywhere. You could try using different numbers for that value and see if any make any difference. Why has nobody bothered to explain that setting anywhere?

  • Old version Source code to .exe file conversion

I have a programming GUI source code (written in an older version of LabVIEW). Can it be supported by LABview Evaluation version 10.0.1 and be converted to an .exe file. How can I convert and use source code file for  programming? What do I need to convert and how?
I'm new to LABview. Please help!!

2010 can open VIs written in LabVIEW 6.0 or newer. Just double click on the top level VI. You will also need to install any hardware drivers (i.e. GPIB, DAQ, etc) that the old program used.
With the evaluation version, you can create an exe but it will have a watermark on the front panel.

  • How to get the source code in PAR file

    Hi All,
I used the PAR migration tool to migrate from PAR to EAR file. When I imported the EAR into NWDS 7.3, I was just able to see the structure and jsp files and could not find the java source code files. I would requires the java source code to make modifications so that deprecated APIs can be replaced and to also make the code compatible with JDK 1.6.
I think the original 7.0 PAR file itself does not contain the source code. I decided to use the "Include source code" option when exporting the 7.0 PAR.
I have the portal application DC project in my NWDS 7.0. However, when I try to export the PAR file using Export --> PAR File -- > Next... I am unable to select any project from the list. The list appears blank with disabled Next & Finish buttons.
I also noticed that in the portal DC application structure, there is a .sda file under /gen/default/deploy. Also there is no PAR folder under /gen/default/public.
How do I include the source in the PAR file so that I can edit the same after migrating to EAR format ?
    Regards,
    Melwyn

DC and PAR/EAR stuff are different formats, SC/DC is an archive type used by NWDI, if I got it right.
How do I go about generating the PAR file (with source) ?
In fact through including the seources while creating the PAR/EAR in NWDS, but: no need to do that, you can also depack SDA (rename it to zip). If you wanna just see the Java sources you will find them there, otherwise decompile as Vijay already sad.
    cheers
