One Problem

Question

I bought a book, named:"corejava 2", but CD attached was broken so I download required softwares to install and test it well.
but i cannot understand the book's many examples show that like
"import corejava.*" etc, so how and what can i replace with it and practice on java?

'Console' is a class which i imageine is defined in the corejava package which is on that disk - it is not part of the java API (despite wrongly being named "java.corejava"). If you can't somehow get that package in to your computer you won't ever be able to compile this.
If you want to get things started try a very similar piece of code which will teach you much more in to the bargain anyway:
String yourName;
yourName = args[0];
System.out.println(yourName);Then run this at the command line by typingjava oscar GeorgeBush and the name of the world's most dangerous pretzel-muncher should pop-up on the next line.
Essentialy this code declares a String variable, assigns the value of the first string it finds on the command line to that variable, then prints it out on the next line.
'args' (declared in the main() method) is an 'array' of Strings which is filled up by the things you type after the name of the class when you run it. there's plenty of other tutorials on the web and loads of good books have been put on-line wholesale http://www.java21days.com would be a good place to start.
