Online Help for Oracle HRMS Self Service System

I am looking into developing context-sensitive online help for an Oracle HRMS Self Service application. There is currently no online help for the application; all help is provided in printed and online docs, so users are having trouble navigating to the info they need. Help is needed! My initial questions are:
Would I need to create OHJ or OHW?
Could I use RoboHelp to develop the content?
Is there a reference document you can point me to?
Thanks
Belinda

Hi Belinda,
You would create Oracle Help, and then deploy it using OHJ or OHW.
The format of the help is the same. There is nothing specific that needs to be done for one or the other. If your system i s a Web application, you would use OHW and otherwise, you would use OHJ.
You can read more about Oracle Help on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/help/index.html.
(Read the FAQ for more information about the choice between OHJ and OHW.)
Personally, I would not recommend RoboHelp to create Oracle Help. RoboHelp has a lot of nice features, but the Oracle Help output feature is fairly buggy, especially if you are creating a large helpset, or a helpset that has subhelpsets.
At Oracle, a lot of help development is done using DreamWeaver and an in-house build tool, called the Oracle Help Build Tool. This is available for free. Send me a mail ([email protected]) if you want a copy.
Regards,
Pete

Mass creation of Oracle HR Self Service Users (for access to all employees)
    Hi all,
We have Oracle Human Resources 11.5.7 and recently implement Oracle HRMS (Self Service) for the purpose of Online Appraisal System.
Is there any fast way to create all employees as users of the Self Service instead of creating the users manually one by one in HR?
    I would appreciate any feedback.
    Thanking you in advance.

My company is just starting to develop applications for mobile devices (cell phone, iPad

Thanks for the insight. I haven't read about RH8 so wasn't aware of that difference. No, I haven't tried the demo yet. I guess that would be the logical next step. I've been trying to get to the STC web site to download the PDF file of the presentation, but can't get the web site to open. Oh well. Thanks again.

  • Providing online Help for Flex-based applications

I have been asked to provide online Help for a Flex application. As I have never done this before, I have a few questions:
    - What is the format for the Help topics?
    - Are there control-type files (e.g., TOC, index, project file) that need to be created? If so, what is the format for these?
    - Is the Help compiled? If so, which compiler is used?
    - How is context-sensitive Help created?
I'd also like to know if there are any resources I could look at that covers these Help issues. Thanks.

    Hi,
You can acheive the same by the addition of [USER-COMMAND fcode].
RADIOBUTTON GROUP group [USER-COMMAND fcode] - The addition USER-COMMAND can be used to assign a function code fcode to the first parameter in a radio button group. The function code fcode must be specified directly, and have a maximum length of 20 characters. When the user selects any radio button of the radio button group on the selection screen, the runtime environment triggers the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN and transfers the function code fcode to the component ucomm of the interface work area sscrfields.
So you code should be altered as
    PARAMETERS: rb_appl  RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad
USER-COMMAND radclick    "Addition which you have to make.
                         DEFAULT 'X',
                rb_pres  RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad ,
                p_file   TYPE ibipparms-path.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR p_file.
      IF rb_appl = 'X'.
        PERFORM f_applictn_server_filenm.
      ELSEIF rb_pres = 'X'.
        PERFORM f_presentation_filenm.
      ENDIF.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Can somebody decipher the online help for the one button dialog?

So I was looking at the online help for the one button dialog and there is an extra paragraph compared to the LabVIEW help.
Clicking on the link goes to a help specific to the Embedded module for the ARM microcontroller. Does this really have much to do with the one button dialog? Does it belong here?
Just wondering. I am not familiar with that module....
LabVIEW Champion . Do more with less code and in less time .

The same is true of the online help back to LV2009 inclusive, which (I believe) would be the first to contain the linked dialog too.

    Hi,
Tuxedo is unable to make any HTTPS calls other than SOAP/HTTPS. So if you are using web services, then SALT can perform SOAP/HTTPS calls, although I don't believe we support the message signing feature of WS-Security (although you might want to check the SALT 10gR3 or later documentation.)
We are considering adding support for HTTP/HTTPS directly in Tuxedo, but that feature is not available in any current version of Tuxedo. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

  • How to mention more than one values in URL Suffix for Oracle BI presentation Services?

    Hi,
    I'm using OBIEE 10
In BI Publisher-> Oracle BI Presentation Services setup default value is 'analytics/saw.dll'
I've to add another suffix i.e. 'analyticsApp/saw.dll' which we use for another set of reports.
Is it possible to add bot of these entries in URL suffix?
Else, how can I expose both of my OBIEE URLs to  BI publisher?
    Thanks
    Tarun

    Tarun
In BI URL word analytics is kind of virtual directory, if you want to change this you might have to change at Web Server side.
Try to use em for your oc4j to change or redeploy the analytics with desired name.
Just in case you are using IIS then you need to check in IIS.

" *Could not start the Oracle BI Server service on Local Computer*
*Error 1064 An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request*"
It's been working, just I got this error today only, all other services are working fine.
    Has anyone got this error?

    Hi All,
Thank you so much for all your quick replies and it worked now.
You are right, I changed repo name and changed back to original one and and Service is starting now.
I think something missing space or format issue when I add other entry in the NQSconfig.INI file, Ihave to follow same synatx.
Now I am good to go.
    Thanks again,

  • Email notification for AE password Self-Service

    Hi Guys,
I have tried to setup AE Password Self-Service and to an extent, its working. However, I do not receive an email notification on the newly changed password.
I have checked my SMTP settings via SCOT and for sure its working as thats the same system which I'm using the FireFighter (which works and sends out email notification).
I've checked on the backend system on the "changed documents" and I see that password was indeed changed by the user which I've used in the background job created in AE.
It seems to me that something is not correctly setup for the communication between AE and the backend system but I cannot figure out which area I should look into (after the above troubleshooting).
If anyone have any suggestions, I would be much appreciated.
P.S: I ahve done the below post-installation configuration:
    1) ceated the connectors and tested the connections with success
    2) setup verification fields in the password self service (successful as in the initial screen of AE, I'm about to request a change for a new password and the successful message appears)
    3) SMTP server in the Workflow is also setup
    4) User Data Source is updated (SAP UME)
    5) Backgrund jobs on Email Dispatcher and Email Reminder are created
    Thanks.
    Raymond

    Hi Jagat,
Where do we need to modify those parameters suggetsed by you because i can't find any option to change these infotypes in AE.
Kindly suggest, Can you kindly share ADM 955 if you possibly have it with you.
