ONS FAN Enabled Datasource Settings

Using weblogic 10.3.6 and was wondering if we have ONS nodes configured with FAN enabled if there are any settings on the data source that we should change from the default values. For instance I think I read that if you have FAN enabled you shouldn't use Test Connections on Reserve is that true?

Sorry, F6 was a typo, I meant F8. How do you tell if it has changed the speed of the fan? I wet my finger and held it next to the grill on the right hand side but could feel no difference nor hear any sound for the changes from white backgound to grey background on the fan icon.
I may have not been clear on the graphics question. On the tray there is an icon for graphic options. When it is pressed, one of the selections is graphics properties. I selected this, then on the box that appeared, I pressed display settings to see if I cold get around the scrolling problem, and saw a box "power scheme". I selected that and another box appeared called power settings, I assume for the graphics as it is called "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile". this has some greyed out boxes called Intel Automatic Display Brightness, Intel Power saving technology with a slider going from Max quakity to Max battery, and another box called Intel display refresh rate technology. All this is greyed out. I have selected varios options regarding overall power schemes in the control panel and they work OK.

  • Using Transformations with Delta enabled Datasources

    Hi,
I have a delta enables datasource which uses incremental update to my infoCube.
In order to populate some fields in the cube I used a transformation routine for a couple of these fields to do some lookups from some tables.
The problem that I am encountering is that when the delta update runs its only updates the directly assigned fields it does not also update the routine delivered fields.
Is there a way to get this to work or is it impossible?
    Thanks

    HI,
The routines work fine for full load as the data is replaced with new data each time.
What I need to happen is I am using a SAP standard content datasource with delta enabled on the datasource and when loading from datasource to Cube all the 0 fields are updating correctly but my Z fields which i update with routines do not seem to be replaced.
Please advise of anyway to get this to work
    Thanks

  • CF10 Datasource settings

I'm looking over the datasource settings for MS SQL Server and I have some questions about.
    Limit Connections
I can't think of any reason to use this except to help minimize the damage of a DOS attack.
    Max Pooled Statements
I understand that this should be set to equal the amount of unique cfquery tags that use the cfqueryparam tag and cfstoredproc tags. Thats great an all but why?
    Timeout
This is how long it keeps each connection to that datasource open. Is there any reason to change this and how would you determine the right setting?
    Query Timeout
It defaults to 0 (no timeout) and I don't want a query running forever. I can't think of the last time I had a query run more than 1 second. Any reason why I wouldn't want to set it to 5 seconds or less?
    Thanks
    Phil

    Limit Connections: Why?
The main reason is that connections cost a lot of processing overhead (CPU resources). If you have too many of them going, things will eventually slow down to a treacle.
Max Pooled Statements: Why set it equal to the number of unique cfquery tags that use the cfqueryparam tag and cfstoredproc tags?
The ultimate purpose is efficiency. These types of query involve reuse. The underlying Java engine therefore creates and maintains a pool of prepared statements to be reused by each such query. The number of unique queries is a good starting point. It is unnecessary to allocate more memory space (for a larger pool) than is needed. Furthermore, since Java creates pooled statements based on currently active connections, the connection must be maintained for reuse of pooled statements to be possible.
Timeout: Is there any reason to change it and how would you determine the right setting?
This is how long ColdFusion maintains an idle connection before destroying it. I would leave it at the 20-minute default setting. That falls within the generally accepted range for session timeout in ColdFusion applications, namely, 20 to 30 minutes.
Query Timeout: Any reason to set it to 5 seconds or less?
The Relational Database Management System is separate from ColdFusion. A query may, for reasons beyond ColdFusion's control, run beyond the time that the ColdFusion application expects. The Coldfusion threads that wait on the query would continue to do so indefinitely. If it is critical to your application that a query must run under 5 seconds, or else abort, then you should set 'Query Timeout' to 5 seconds. Charlie Arehart wrote an instructive article on this.

  • NB100 help please with fan and graphics settings

Hi, I have just bought the NB100 and have a few questions I hope someone can help me with.
The fan icon goes grey or white depending on the settings using FN and F6, but I can feel no difference in the air around the right hand grill. Is it on when the icon shows white or grey? does it actually work?
My second question is about the graphic settings. The intel power option that is displayed when the graphivs icon in the task bar is double clicked appears to be disabled. There are sliders, automatic brightness, and power saving, but none can be selected, how is it enabled?
My last question is about games. I tried a few old ones that were not graphic intensive, Deus Ex, and sins of a solar empire, but I had problems getting at text boxes that needed a response, and in the case of Deus Ex it said the graphic drivers were not compatable. Has anyone had ant success with games? I travel a lot and thought I would like to have one or two installed other than card games etc.
    Thanks and regards, Brian

  • My iPhone 5 won't automatically send iMessages (enabled in settings)

My iPhone 5 won't automatically send iMessages to other peoples' devices who have iMessages enabled, unless they send an iMessage to me first. My phone automatically sends SMS only, and does not automatically detect if other people have iMessage capability. My iPhone 4 on the same apple ID did not have this problem, even after I updated the software to iOS 6.
I have enabled iMessages in my "settings", as well as checked only my phone number in the "receive at". My boyfriend also has an iPhone 5, but he is able to send iMessages to other people who have iMessage.

    Hi Friend,
    * Check in Settings>>Messages>>Send and Receive, if your mobile number or Apple ID is selected at all. In my iPhone 4S for example, I am using my mobile number to send iMessages, instead of Apple ID.
    * Double check in Settings>>General>>Mobile is turn on. If yes, double check in "Mobile Data Network"  (sorry, maybe I wrote down the wrong name because my device is not in English : )) if you have filled the with the network carrier information. If everything are blank, you will not able to send/receive iMessages without WiFi connection.
    * Check also in Settings>>Notifications>>Messages, if "Show iMessage Alerts From" is "All" option selected.
    Good Luck...

  • How to enable recommended settings in the Firewall in my network

Situation: we are using Windows 7 Pro on client machines in a domain environment. Windows Firewall is turned on by default. But we install Symantec Endpoint Protection which has a built-in firewall. Every time we install new version of Symantec Windows Firewall
shows that it is not using the Recommended settings. When this happens, we have problems pinging machines, connecting via RDP or sending files in out instant messaging application. One can press the "Use the recommended settings" button and after
providing the administrator password the error goes away. After the next system startup Symantec takes over this page and there is a messages that Symantec is managing firewall settings. Everything works fine till another Symantec program update (not the definitions).
I'm trying to find a way to "press that button" automatically, so i can deploy it to all users, preferably via GPO. But so far i haven't found a way. It looks like GPO only allows to change single options, not to apply some scheme. Yet if i compare
settings on two machines (one with error, one without) it shows the same result - all Network Connections > Windows Firewall > etc. settings are Not Configured.
I have found this topic https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/1c35af41-6e48-479f-a71f-3a16e119d828/windows-firewall-not-using-recommended-settings?forum=itprovistanetworking
But if i check permissions for that key on both machines, permissions are the same (though not Full).

  • Creator Saving DataSource Settings

I've been fighting multiple problems setting up a system that lets me develop code under Creator (on a WinXP box) then publish on a local App Server 8 machine (WhiteBox Linux). I am accessing MySQL running on a WhiteBox Linux machine. (three-tier, right out of the book). I've finally got most of the bugs worked out, but in the process, I moved my Data Source from ff_local to ffdb.
Although I changed the few pages that used the DataSource, I'm still getting an error when I deploy the project locally, that says "Deployment failed because the following data sources have not been found in the Server Navigator: jdbc/ff_local.... ". I've rebooted the development machine, reloaded the project, no difference.
Even more annoying is the fact that now the DataSource Server Navigator resets to the default settings when I restart Creator (i.e. my datasources are gone, and the Order and Travel ones are back)
Anyone have a suggestion where I can look to find:
    1) Where the offending ff_local reference is at?
    2) How I can get Creator to remember my Server Navigator settings?
    Thanks in advance,
    harold miller

http://swforum.sun.com/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=123 is probably a better place to post creator questions as this is for creator product itself.
I am however confused on your questions. Why would you change the name of the DataSource? All I would expect you to have to do is change the host/port on your connection pool to point to your production backend this would not require you to change you application.
I cannot however speak to the wizards on creator and you are best served via the forum above

  • Will re-installing OSX and enabling Save Settings kill virus' and malwares?

    Hello
My web pages are slow to load sometimes and I'm wondering if I have a virus or malware that is doing it.
I don't want to use virus checkers or malware checkers because I've heard they are themselves used by the virus writers to plant virus' and malwares.
So my question is; If I re-install OSX while enabling Save Existing Settings, will that remove any virus' and malwares if they are on my Mac?
    Thanks for your help.

As there are no viruses for Mac OS X it is extremely unlikely that this is your problem, so let's concentrate on your slow page loading.
Firstly, you need a minimum of 10.5.7 (10.5.8 is better) to run Safari 4.0.3. You show you are using an earlier version of leopard.
Post back if you are not using Safari.
But to answer your direct question: just possibly, so read the following first:
No viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions.
It is possible, however, to pass on a Windows virus to another Windows user, for example through an email attachment. To prevent this all you need is the free anti-virus utility ClamXav, which you can download from:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
However, the appearance of Trojans and other malware that can possibly infect a Mac seems to be growing, but is a completely different issue to viruses.
If you allow a Trojan to be installed, the user's DNS records can be modified, redirecting incoming internet traffic through the attacker's servers, where it can be hijacked and injected with malicious websites and pornographic advertisements. The trojan also installs a watchdog process that ensures the victim's (that's you!) DNS records stay modified on a minute-by-minute basis.
You can read more about how, for example, the OSX/DNSChanger Trojan works here:
    http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/trojanosxdnschanger.shtml
SecureMac has introduced a free Trojan Detection Tool for Mac OS X. It's available here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
The DNSChanger Removal Tool detects and removes spyware targeting Mac OS X and allows users to check to see if the trojan has been installed on their computer; if it has, the software helps to identify and remove the offending file. After a system reboot, the users' DNS records will be repaired.
(Note that a 30 day trial version of MacScan can be downloaded free of charge from:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/buy/
and this can perform a complete scan of your entire hard disk. After 30 days free trial the cost is $29.99. The full version permits you to scan selected files and folders only, as well as the entire hard disk. It will detect (and delete if you ask it to) all 'tracker cookies' that switch you to web sites you did not want to go to.)
A white paper has recently been published on the subject of Trojans by SubRosaSoft, available here:
    http://www.macforensicslab.com/ProductsAndServices/index.php?mainpage=document_general_info&cPath=11&productsid=174
    Also, beware of MacSweeper:
MacSweeper is malware that misleads users by exaggerating reports about spyware, adware or viruses on their computer. It is the first known "rogue" application for the Mac OS X operating system. The software was discovered by F-Secure, a Finland based computer security software company on January 17, 2008
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacSweeper
On June 23, 2008 this news reached Mac users:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06/23/mac_trojan/
More information on Mac security can be found here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
The MacScan application can be downloaded from here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/buy/
You can download a 30 day trail copy which enables you to do a full scan of your hard disk. After that it costs $29.95.
More on Trojans on the Mac here:
    http://www.technewsworld.com/story/63574.html?welcome=1214487119
This was published on July 25, 2008:
Attack code that exploits flaws in the net's addressing system are starting to circulate online, say security experts.
The code could be a boon to phishing gangs who redirect web users to fake bank sites and steal login details.
In light of the news net firms are being urged to apply a fix for the loop-hole before attacks by hi-tech criminals become widespread.
Net security groups say there is anecdotal evidence that small scale attacks are already happening.
    Further details here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7525206.stm
A further development was the Koobface malware that can be picked up from Facebook (already a notorious site for malware, like many other 'social networking' sites), as reported here on December 9, 2008:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/technology/newsid_7773000/7773340.stm
You can keep up to date, particularly about malware present in some downloadable pirated software, at the Securemac site:
    http://www.securemac.com/
There may be other ways of guarding against Trojans, viruses and general malware affecting the Mac, and alternatives will probably appear in the future. In the meantime the advice is: be careful where you go on the web and what you download!
If you think you may have acquired a Trojan, and you know its name, you can also locate it via the Terminal:
    http://theappleblog.com/2009/04/24/mac-botnet-how-to-ensure-you-are-not-part-of- the-problem/
As to the recent 'Conficker furore' affecting Intel-powered computers, MacWorld recently had this to say:
    http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?email&NewsID=25613
Although any content that you download has the possibility of containing malicious software, practising a bit of care will generally keep you free from the consequences of anything like the DNSChanger trojan.
    1. Avoid going to suspect and untrusted Web sites, especially *********** sites.
    2. Check out what you are downloading. Mac OS X asks you for you administrator password to install applications for a reason! Only download media and applications from well-known and trusted Web sites. If you think you may have downloaded suspicious files, read the installer packages and make sure they are legit. If you cannot determine if the program you downloaded is infected, do a quick Internet search and see if any other users reported issues after installing a particular program.
    3. Use an antivirus program like ClamXav. If you are in the habit of downloading a lot of media and other files, it may be well worth your while to run those files through an AV application.
    4. Use Mac OS X's built-in Firewalls and other security features.
    5. Stop using LimeWire. LimeWire (and other peer-to-peer sharing applications) are hotbeds of potential software issues waiting to happen to your Mac. Everything from changing permissions to downloading trojans and other malicious software can be acquired from using these applications.
    6. Resist the temptation to download pirated software. After the release of iWork '09 earlier this year, a Trojan was discovered circulating in pirated copies of Apple's productivity suite of applications (as well as pirated copies of Adobe's Photoshop CS4). Security professionals now believe that the botnet (from iServices) has become active. Although the potential damage range is projected to be minimal, an estimated 20,000 copies of the Trojan have been downloaded. SecureMac offer a simple and free tool for the removal of the iBotNet Trojan available here:

  • How to disable or change fan check RPM settings at boot?

    Hello all...
    My system specs:
    HP p6180t
    Prod#: AV129AV#ABA
    Q9550 Processor
    8 GB RAM
    IPIEL-LA3 Motherboard
    Upgraded:
    Corsair HX650W Power Supply
    Asus GeForce GTX560
My original processor cooling fan stopped working recently and I chose to replace with a better heatsink while I was at it. I used a Cooler Master Gemini II M4 because it was the only increased capacity cooler that would fit in my current case.
After install, I got the "Error: CPU fan has failed, computer will now shut down to prevent damage to CPU. Etc..."
My guess is the motherboard doesn't like the new fan that came with the new heat sink. The fan is larger and I'm sure spins at a lower RPM than the stock fan. I checked my BIOS settings and do NOT have the "Hardware Monitor" section under the "Advanced" tab. My BIOS is at a newer level than what the HP site will provide for updates (mine is:
    BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5.09, 8/19/2009).
Is there another way to change the RPM fan speed settings to avoid the error at boot other than in the BIOS?
I am able to boot the computer by using a similar sized 4-pin fan plugged into the motherboard while the proper sized fan (actually mounted to the heatsink) is unplugged. Even with no fan, the new heatsink is keeping the processor at 45 C or lower across all 4 cores under medium load.
I suppose I could always leave this small fan plugged in to the motherboard for the BIOS to be happy and power the CPU fan off of molex power (along with an additional case fan). This would be a last option as I would rather know if my CPU fan isn't working...
Any and all help is very appreciated, thank you!
    John

    View Solution.

I understand that your new fan is not detected as working properly by BIOS.  The BIOS doesn't provide all that many options to control functions such as fan speed and there isn't a way to access this feature to the best of my knowledge.  I am afraid that the workaround you mentioned might be your only option with the existing fan without access to this setting in BIOS.
You mentioned you connected a similar sized fan to bypass the error.  Does the fan have a higher RPM than the fan sitting on top of the heat sink?  Reviewing the images located here, it looks like the fan is detachable and could be replaced with the fan that works with the BIOS.  This is provided that the fan that gets past BIOS will fit the heat sink.

  • What are Apple's Default Fan vs Temp Settings?

Where are Apple's published "Fan Speed and MPB Temp" settings?

Not only don't they publish them, they sometimes change the values in various updates so at one point you MBP may be running hot, you apply a patch and the now it runs cooler (or vice versa) as the fans kick in at a different temperature point.
Just get yourself smcfancontrol and you can set the fan speed to what ever you want. I keep my fans at 4,000rpms and that's usually enough to really keep the temps down. We're in a bit of a heat wave here in Boston and so my home office (not air conditioned) has been in the 90s so I've bumped up the speed to 6,000 because the ambiant temps have been so hight.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome.  I have disabled the above and installed a separate version of Flash player.  I have deleted a "corrupt" Flash folder. I have searched the forums and not found anything that fixes my problem.  I have even subjected myself to the sarcasm of a couple of google help workrs who basically told me I was too stupid to follow directions.
Here is my problem:  no matter what I do, when I use my flashplayer in Chrome I cannot make any changes in the local settings.  Once I have opened them I cannot even close them without logging of off the page.  I am very frustrated.  What more do I need to provide you to solve this?

Thanks for responding.  Here is what I mean:
In several other threads when people said they were having problems (some similar to mine, some not) with the local settings the advice was that the "Flash" folder in the Windows\system32\Macromed file was corrupt and that if it was deleted it would solve the problem.  After one deletes the file and reboots it rebuilds itself.  But, it didn't solve anything for me.

  • Having to disable Adobe PDF Reader add-ons then enabling it.

After updating through 11.0.02 -> 11.0.03 -> 11.0.07 (Not currently on 11.0.10), and before I go any further, we also are using IE11 w/Enterprise Mode and the latest version of Chrome. Also, users have Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.09. PDF's are set to open in Adobe Reader. Well, after updating Adobe Reader with the versions mentioned above, a user will open IE or Chrome and click on a link that should open a .PDF in another window or give the option to download it. When this happens, sometimes all the content can't be interacted with or it just doesn't open. The ONLY way I know of to fix this is to go in to IE, manage add-ons or Chrome://plugins, disable the Adobe PDF Reader add-on, close the browser, open the browser and enable the Adobe PDF Reader add-on, restart the browser again. At that time, will the PDF's open properly.
Is there something that can be done to prevent this from happening? One of the reasons I don't like to push out Adobe Reader updates in our district during the school year is because of this reason.
    Thanks

But unfortunately I don't know what the cause of your problem could be.

  • How to fix Enable Restrictions settings passcode

Having problem after loading update IOS 7.0.4. on IPad.  In Settings/ General/ Restrictions = OFF. I want to Enable Restrictions, but the password I use for other Settings is not the same here.  Problem is I never setup a different passcode for Enable Restrictions. This is new ipad received as Christmas gift & first time making changes to settings. How do I fix this issue

Follow the instructions in  iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.
     Cheers, Tom
