I am having a bit of an issue using the opatch command; for some reason, it's not returning the desired output. All I keep getting is a "OPatch succeeded" response. I can't even confirm the Java version installed; when I execute the java command, I do not get any response. Any ideas why this may be so?
Opatch command out is below.

Opatch Issue (Fusion Middleware Home is Corrupted)
I posted a screenshot of the issue here http://i.imgur.com/ejqkk.png
I would appreciate any help!!!Are you sure you are patching the correct version, the patch you are applying is for 11.1.2.2 yet you are using the java directory for 11.1.2.1
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\jdk160_29 is for 11.1.2.2
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\jdk160_21 is for 11.1.2.1
If your base install is 11.1.2.1 then you need to apply 11.1.2.1.x patches
If it is 11.1.2.2 then you need to use the correct java directory.
Cheers
John

I was able to resolve the opatch issue at the APPS TIER. But here comes again at the DB TIER the opatch error is stubborn, even if I used the solution notes

HTTP error when patchset 10.1.3.3 applied on 10.1.3.1
I have tried installing OAS 10.1.3.3 last 6 times and have given up. The only thing which I get consistently is this error :
08/03/14 21:56:38 Start process
Syntax error on line 278 of d:/product/10.1.3.1/oracleas/apache/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load d:/product/10.1.3.1/oracleas/apache/apache/modules/apachemoduleossl.dll into server: (127) The specified procedure could not be found:
This is the step which I have followed:
1) Installed 10.1.3.1 in advanced mode. in D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS
2) Please note at this time, all systems work fine. The Home instance is up and http is running on 80,7200 and https: 443
3) Install patch 10.1.3.3 on this (all the above mentioned server are up and running)
4) now it throws this exception and HTTP server does not start hence rendering the application useless.
I have tried everything in my power to rectify this issue including installing on C drive, D Drive different folder ... restarting 10.1.3.1 server after installation have admitted defeat.
This is a distres call for help.Hi,
Same problem here, even if I install a new Opatch version before upgrading to 10.1.3.3.
First I installed 10.1.3.0.0 and then opatch 1.0.0.0.58 (latest release of opatch, see to metalink note 461637.1).
After that I get the same HTTP error when applying patset 10.1.3.3.
I found a warning of Chris Slattery concerning opatch 1.0.0.0.58 (warning : new 1.0.0.58 opatch issues on 10.1.3.3. ias patch I am completely deinstalling and will try his solution. Maybe this helps also for the httpserver error.
Any other ideas are welcome!
Kind regards,
els -

Thanks for the tip. I had tried removing as root - but thanks anyway.
I reran the install with everything staged on ext4 and the install failed at exact same stage. Since other issues seem to be due to incorrect stage area - could you check the list of files below are the correct ones to be in stage area just before I run buildstage.sh. (Note, at this point i have already unzipped all 3 parts of V35215-01 - and I've deleted those 3 zips as I assume they don't want to be getting unzipped again by buildstage.sh.
I've previously verified that the individual .zips are ok via their MD5 checksums. Does anyone know if there is anything similar to enable me to validate the unzipped files???
In the meantime - I'm going to try and follow your suggested workaround again.

OPatch encounters the following file roll-back issues: File Back-up Errors!
Operating System: Windows XP
Oracle Virsion: 9.2.0.8
Patches applied:
Oracle Patch: 5726045 - Successfully patched with zero return code.
Oracle Patch: 641703 - Failed with Error Code 200.
Scenario:
I have to apply CPUJAN2008 patch on 55 different servers located at different places in different states. Previously some other DBA had written a Windows NT Script for applying patch CPUOCT2007 on these
55 differnet servers which have the same instances, same filing system, same oracle version, same directories, same oracle_home, etc. In other words they are replicas to each other. For the purpose of
patching, the script is the best option. The Script for CPUOCT2007 was never went through, hence I am trying to test this CPUOCT2007 script and if tested allright, I will make certain amendmends to make it
ready for CPUJAN2008 patch.
Problem:
I tested the script for CPUOCT2007 patch and encountered the following problem:
I am providing the necessary information between the dotted lines:

Opatch 6880880 (Update Hpatch to Fix Smartview Issue)
Hello Everyone,
I have to apply Patch 6880880 to update Hpatch version. This is nothing but upgrading the version of the opatch utility. After reading the documentation, I am just following the intial prequisite checks that are needed.
One of the very first step is to set ORACLE_HOME to the oracle home directory.
I did that by using following cmd:
set ORACLE_HOME=C:\Hyperion
Now, I am at the next step where i have to run the *<path to OPatch> optach lsinventory* command. But when I run this command this is what I get:
C:\Hyperion\OPatch>opatch lsinventory
File Not Found
C:\Hyperion\oui\bin\..\..\jre\1.4.2\bin\java.exe could not be located. OPatch cannot proceed!
I cant seem to resolve this error.
Please help.
Thanks
A part of Documentation is below:
Patch summary:
README file for OPatch 10.2.0.5.1, the Oracle Interim Patching Tool.
This patch installs the "OPatch" utility. OPatch is used for patching
Oracle software. If you have an older version of opatch it is strongly
recommended to back it up.
OPatch is Oracle's only supported method of installing Interim
patches. It updates the central and per-product inventories with the
details of the patch.
How to install the utility:
To install this patch simply extract the file "zipped file"
using unzip or winzip, depending upon the platform. You should extract
the zip file directly under the ORACLE_HOME.
To check the version of the opatch utility installed in the above step,
go to the OPatch directory and run "opatch version"
How to run the utility:
OPatch tool requires JDK to be present in the Oracle Home.
It requires JDK version of 1.4.2 or higher for proper functioning.
It can be invoked directly using
<path to OPatch>/opatch [<patch command>] [options]I applied the apply but the patch failed due to following error:
ApplySession failed during prerequisite checks: Prerequisite check "CheckActiveFilesAndExecutables" failed.
System intact, OPatch will not attempt to restore the system
OPatch failed with error code = 74
According to the patch documentation, 1st step is to Stop HFM Services, HsxServer.exe, HsvDataSource.exe, and CASSecurity.exe processes on all application servers.
I couldnt find these processes under task manager on our HFM server. So I just stopped all the Hyperion Financial Services from services.
I cant seem to find these processes. I dont know if just by stopping HFM services stopped all these processes automatically?.
thanks again John -

Hi,
I am upgrading our EBS 11i database (9.2.0.5.0) to 9.2.0.8.0 by following note : 216550.1 (Interoperability Notes Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0)).
I have installed Opatch 2617419 and then installed 6880880 (p6880880_101000_WINNT.zip) (OUI patch).
While applying Windows patch 6 (5916268) ,using opatch I am getting the following error:
OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception while trying to check for Mini Patchset
Cannot check bug/file conflict and component prerequisite checks.
ERROR: OPatch failed during prerequisite check.
OPatch returns with error code = 150
Any help to resolve the issue is appreciated.
I saw note +'OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception While Trying to Check for Mini Patchset' while applying patch using opatch 1.0.0.0.x [ID 971783.1].+
There are no '&' in the inventory file. There are a lot of '<'. I dont know if this note is applicable.
Thanks
