Open a page within a region on another page?

Hello!
Is it possible to open a page, within a region on another page? Similar to the way frames work? I have links in a column on the left side of a page and nothing on the right side (big white space), so I thought I would try to open up a page in the white space, depending on which link was clicked on the left side.
Thanks!

Hi - aren't you in danger of overcomplicating this?
If you put your links in an APEX List, you could branch to the different pages (and always have the list of links in a sidebar on the left), so the effect would be similar.
The thing is, you need the pages in order to have the content to pull in, so you're not saving on the work of creating and maintaining the pages, plus you need to fiddle with the template for those pages to remove headings etc. Also, you can get some interesting side-effects if you implement branching on the pages.
It is possible to have an iframe in a region on a page that references another page. For a reason I forget now we implemented this as a dynamic PL/SQL region, a bit like this (purists look away now):
declare
  l_html VARCHAR2(4000);
begin
  l_html := '<table><td><tr>';
  l_html := l_html || '<iframe name="Messages" height="220" width="950" frameborder="0" src="f?p=&APP_ID.:110:&SESSION.:::::" scrolling="auto">
</iframe>';
  l_html := l_html || '</tr></td></table>';
  htp.p(l_html);
end;It wouldn't be hard to make the page number (110 in the above example) dynamic depending on what link or button you clicked.
Another thing you could do is to have a completely dynamic PL/SQL region, using a function that perhaps retrieved a chunk of text from a database table, and then you'd probably want to implement it via Ajax...
Wait, did I say something about not overcomplicating things? I don't know, APEX gets you that way...
John.

  • Linking an image from one page to an image within a slideshow on another page.

    I would like to link an image on my home page with an image within a slideshow on another page of my website. I can create the link, but when I click on the link, instead of taking me to the image within the slideshow, it takes me to the first image of the slideshow which I don't want. Is there a way to link to an image "within" the slideshow and not the first image?

    Hi
    You can create pages with specific images and then use link of images which will open the page with that specific image, link images within slideshow to show exact image within would not be possible with native Muse feature as by default slideshow will open the first image in target.
    Thanks,

    To make a new document, go to File > New From Template chooser and choose the type of document you wish to create.
    To add a new page to an existing document go to Insert > Sections > Blank.

  • AFter the latest download, my e-mail service keeps getting a bar at the top "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". I have to keep hitting the "Allow" link? How do I get rid of this?

    Ever since the last update, I'm having problem accessing my e-mail account. I keep getting an annoying bar at the top of the screen "Firebox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page." I have to keep hitting the allow button, sometimes twice. And when I do get into the accounts the bar jumps in and out every time I open a new e-mail, or delete and old one.
    How do I get rid of this. I've had this account for years, with a very reputable private e-mail provider. This is nuts.

    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
    The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

    In this particular case, I was on a page that offered group discounts ("deals") that can be purchased for a limited time. To make the purchase, I needed to click onto the link with the name of the deal being offered. However, upon clicking on that link, I received the message from Firefox that it was preventing the page from automatically directing to another page i.e. the page that would have allowed me to make my purchase. Please answer quickly since the deal I want to purchase expires in three hours!

  • How do I turn off the "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" dialogue ?

    I am a mac user. I tried to access my bank account, but firefox 3.6.8 prevents me by telling me: "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". This is NOT a dialogue which I can click a button. Instead, nothing happens when I type my bank's URL while a small message appears below the URL field bar. I do not have the OPTIONS under the Tools menu (like on Windows version) and my preferences does not give me any option to turn this thing off. Can any one HELP me as I cannot have access to my bank website?

  • How do I make Foxfire quit giving me the message Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page?

    When I am on some sites Firefox gives me the message Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page? and then I have to click Allow. This happens on every single page on certain sites. How can I make this stop all together?

  • When loading a new site using Firefox, why do I get a message that tells me that "firefox prevented this page from automatically directing to another page. Allow?"

    When loading a page using Firefox, at the top of the page, I get a mesage telling me "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page - Allow?" This happens almost every time I begin a new page and Firefox will not allow the page to continue uploading. I have to tell it to allow every time, even on pages I've 'allowed' in the past.

    The Redirection option is an Accessibility feature for people with Disabilities so that they will know when a page is going to be reloaded. It is not a Security feature.
    IF you still want it, click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Options''' -> Advanced -> General -> place Checkmark on '''Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page'''
    -> Click OK on Options window -> Restart Firefox

  • Tab closes with no error msg when I click on "Allow". Msg: Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. I had to uncheck the Advance/General/Accessibility option for it to work. Why?

    Msg: Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. When I click on "Allow", The 2nd tab closes with no error msg This was Home Depot redirecting to CitiGroup.
    When I unchecked the Advance/General/Accessibility option to be notified of a "redirect" then things worked.
    Why did clicking on "Allow" not work?
    I posted step by step detail in the Trouble Shooting box below.

    Thank you for your answer. It does stop the redirection notices, but now I have no idea if potentially unsafe sites are redirecting me. I cannot figure out why it has only recently started to happen on my home page though, when nothing has changed on there and I've had it set to show redirections, ever since I set up Firefox.
    I guess I'll just have to make the decision as to whether I want to risk redirections or put up with the semi permanent notice.
    Thanks again mha007
