Open BW webreport via button on form in (new) popup window possible ?

Hi,
We need to give the opportunity to the end-users to launch a BW webreport to make a detailed analysis. I know how to do this via a button and a html iview but then the result is displayed in the same window overwriting the current content of the VC application.
I thought to solve this by using a popup iview but I have just learned that this is not supported ?
Can anyone give me a hint how to achieve this ? I searched for a "add hyperlink" function but didn't find that neither.

Ok i see, what do you mean. I thought I did a workaround and use a nested iView with a html view in a popup iView.

Urgent help on opening a new popup window when clicking on h:comandButton

At any way, a 404 simply means that the URL is wrong.

Open calling form in new browser window

HI,
I am using forms 9i. From menu item, i am calling a form using call_form, the called form is opening in same window, my requirement is the called forms want to open in new browser window. I am using mdi window.
Any idea ?

If you look in your browser address field, you will see your current forms has a (probably very) long url, one section of which is the form name. Now, you can use this as the URL argument in a WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT() call. However:
(1) if your URL doesn't include the userid, etc. (very likely in a production situation) you will have to log in again.
(2) as (1) might lead to suspect, you are in a new database session.
Why do you want to do this?

I have a form that I want to open in a popup window from a URL in a PL/SQL portlet. What is the easiest way to do this? Are there any examples in here or on Metalink as to how to achieve this?

Is it a HTML page somewhere on a server with a HTML form on it? You can use javascript tags in ur link to do this maybe?
javascript:window.open('http://<server name>/page.htm','mywindow','width=400,height=200')
Obviously if this is a portal form you can also link directly to the show procedure no problems.

Call form in new browser window

Hello all,
I am trying to call a form that will appear in a new browser window, but be part of the same forms application. I am able to call the applet by using web.show_document, however you must log on to the forms services before you can access the form. I would simply like to click a button and have it call a form that opens in a new window. I am doing this for our data entry techs that need to utilize dual monitors looking at 2 separate tables.

Be aware that there are limitations with Forms if you are trying to run the application on the secondary monitor. Known issues related to dual monitors have been corrected in the upcoming patch set for 10.1.2. This patch is due for release soon (exact date unknown). A one-off patch is also available for 9.0.4.3.

Hello
I have a button on a page opening a popup window. This popup window includes a page with form and the classical Create Cancel Submit Delete buttons.
Of course, when clicking Cancel, Submit or other buttons, the popup does not close and I end up with the target page in the popup !
How can I solve this ? (I'm using apex 4)

Cannot open one folder via my harddrive on my new macbook air, but opens find on old macbook. It says "can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents."

ive tried making all permissions 'read & write' on both computers and ive also tried clicking the lock in get info section on both computers.
all the other folders on the harddrive containing photos are fine to open just this one for some reason

Open a new popup window in OTL Create timecard page

I am have created a new item called button on the create timecard page in OTL. when i click on the button it opens up a new window which runs a function in it. I want to set the properties of the new window like remove toolbar,location and menubar. when i set the properties in Target Frame I dont see any change in window style.

What I usually do in this case is place a javascript function at the end of the processRequest method:

The I can put the destination of a link or button as javascript:openWindow(url,name)

When i select a pdf file for download in a webpage instead of automatically downloading the file and opening it using adobe acrobat I get a new blank window in the browser and it says done in the bottom left corner

when I select a pdf file within a webpage and click to download instead of getting the "download" window and the file automatically opening after download using adobe reader I get a blank webpage (in the same tab) and in the bottom left corner it says"done". No file is downloaded and if I click "back" I just return to the webpage containing the link.

Aha! The properties for the plugin file nppdf32.dll for Adobe Reader indicate the file is for Adobe Acrobat. This misidentification is then used by SeaMonkey as a label in the helper application list.
Adobe Reader 11.0.3.37: nppdf32.dll has version 11.0.3.37. This is the version in SeaMonkey's plugins folder.
Adobe Acrobat 7.0.8.218: nppdf32.dll has version 7.0.9.50.
As for having both Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat on the same PC, this generally works providing Reader is installed AFTER Acrobat. Reader is freeware, and I want to keep it current. Acrobat is purchaseware, and I cannot afford to keep buying upgrades or newer versions.

1st, see the Markup formatting options over on the right part of the screen - if you wrap your code between the code tags it will read MUCH better.
2nd, I can't replicate this issue - we have several PDFs opening in new windows & we only need to click once on the clost 'X' - how are you calling the PDF in a new window?
If you can't find a final resolution, an alternative would be to place a LinktoAction on your web dynpro application somewhere that makes sense which would close the window for you.
We do this on Sucess Message Views...

Javascript to open a new sized window

Hello everyone
I am working on a responsive project (CP8) which is going to be converted into an iPad App with phonegap.
The app has several links that open PDF documents. The problem is that when the new window is opened you are stuck on it and con'not get back to the actual App. There is no back button like an android phone and pressing the home button and going back to the App just reopens the link with the PDF document.
I was thinking of adding javascript to open a small window to view the pdf document so the user can X out of it, but I do not know if this will work and am uncertain on what code I would need to open a link in lets say an 800 wide x 400 high new popup window.
Any idea on how to resolve this issue.

I have checked the setting and in 3.6 it is under:
Advanced JavaScript Settings:
I do have 'Move or resize existing windows' checked.
There is no 'Allow Scripts to...' check box.

If you are using standard buttons from window manager ( IF_WD_WINDOW_MANAGER) while generating popup window, we can have maximum of 3 buttons.
Other way:
You can add as many buttons you want inside the view and do not use standard buttons.
Please follow the below steps
Create a view V_POPUP and add your ui elements
create 4 buttons YES, NO, CANCEL & CHANGE inside the view and create actions for each button
Create a window W_POPUP & embed the view V_POPUP inside the window
Create an attribute GO_WINDOW ( ref to IF_WD_WINDOW ) inside view-->attributes tab
Now, call the popup window as below
CALL METHOD lo_window_manager->create_window(
    EXPORTING
      window_name       = 'W_POPUP'
      title             = 'My Popup Window with custom buttons'
      close_button      = abap_true
      button_kind       = if_wd_window=>CO_BUTTONS_NONE " no std buttons

Open sso enabled app in new browser window

I have a java app deployed to OAS and secured with Single Sign on. I would like my app to open a report and display it in a new browser window. When the new window opens I am getting an error stating that user is not authorized to access the report. This is due to the session information (successful login) being stored with the cookie in the original browser window (where the session started and where the user originally logged in). Is there a way to pass that cookie information to the 2nd browser window...or some way to re-authenticate without having the user log on again...possibly some mod_osso set-up...or some additional code? TIA.

Cache problem for servlet opening new browser window

Requirement:
I have JSP page say summary.jsp with link "print account summary"
When user clicks on this link, new browser open with PDF document of summary.jsp
This new browser window should not have address bar and toolbar.
Solution:
Servlet called PrintSummary which sets contenttype=application/pdf and sends the data to outputstream.
href of link is
Java script function is:
function openWindow(url){
window.open(url,'blank','toolbar=no')
Problem:
Since the URL of this new window is
http:// host:portnumber/PrintSummary
Even if I click the "Print summary" link for account2,
being the same URL (http:// host:portnumber/PrintSummary) it accesses the existing page in the cache which is created for account 1.
In href if I just use servlet url as
I get the expected behaviour but then I don't have control on browser appearance and browser window will be with address bar and toolbar.
The only option I could think of was changing URL as follows:
<% String url ="javascript:openWindow('PrintSummary? var1="+ Math.random()+"')";
So that URL is different all the time
Is there any way to solve this problem?

I'd definitely try to use a Flex popup... but the
flash.net.navigateToURL method is a simple way to open a popup
window in a new browser. You can pass any data needed by the new
page using the URLRequest and/or URLVariables. The URL you navigate
to could, of course, be another Flex application if necessary. I
use this only when I need to open a popup window on another site,
or an HTML formatter report or something similar.
Concerning yourself with the size of the popup window may be
a bad design choice also. I, for example, have my browser
configured to open all popups in a new tab regardless of sizing
constraints imposed by the designer. If it is absolutely necessary
for you to have control over the size of your popup window, you
should follow the advice given by others and use a Flex
popup.
