Livecache stopped

hello,
the livecache shuts down automatically when the database manager window is closed. does anyone have an idea why and how this can be resolved?
thanks!

Hi Regina,
that's pretty much not how it should be. Actually there is no such function for shutting down a DB when you close the DBMGUI application.
So to start I would check the following:
- look into the knldiag of the liveCache. Is the liveCache shutdown via DB_OFFLINE command or does it crash (vabort)?
- If it's shutdown via a DBM-Command - check the dbm.prt file for the full command and from which host the DBM Server had been called.
If you don't find the reason yourself - open a support message. As you use liveCache you are a SAP customer and therefore you get support via Support Messages.
Best regards,
Lars

Another thing is, the actual password is not the same password I changed in DBMGUI and in Integration. Can you please help me with this error and -24964,ERR_EXECUTE: error in program execution keeps appearing in the logs.
    Thank you.

    Hello Deanna Mariel Marasigan,
-> please check which user you set for LCA connection in LC10 -> Integration.
You wrote, that it's SAPLC1. Correct?
-> run the SQL statement as superdba user & check if this user is listed:
    select * from domain.users
-> To make sure that the lcinit script works with the correct Standard liveCache
user then you should run the commands to check the
liveCache user in the upc container:
    In a dbmcli session (e.g. in LC10 -> liveCache:Monitoring -> Tools)
sql_execute user-type=SAP select user from dual
Should return this user - SAPLC1
When an error returns ( unknown user/password ), then no user is set or wrong password.
To set the new password for Standard user in the upc container run:
    dbmcli -d LC1 -n <LC-server> -u control,<control> user_sap SAPLC1,<pwd-new>
( please see the SAP note 616555 for more details ).
This sets the new user/pwd in the upc container.
After that the above command should return the user.
Restart the liveCache in the LC10 transaction.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

    Hello Chris,
It's NOT mandatory to stop livecache via LC10 every time SAP and the SAP database(Oracle) is stopped/bounced.
If you would like to bounce the SCM system you need to run the following steps:
    -> Stop the liveCache in LC10 transaction; < stop x_server, if it's planned >
-> Stop the application server & SCM database -> stopsap
-> Start the application server & SCM database -> startsap
    -> < start x_server, if it's stopped on the livecache server >
Start the liveCache in LC10 transaction
For example, the liveCache need to stopped if you are going to run the livecache
upgrade or reboot the livecache server.
When you are going to restart the liveCache the liveCache application users need to be informed about the downtime, when the liveCache will be not available and the liveCache application jobs/activities & CIF queues need to be stopped for the liveCache restart procedure.
For SAP liveCache documentation in English < See the SAP note 767598 >:

    > I have done the recovery using database manager gui 7.5 by using recovery option. Infact the log area was empty.
Yes - it may have been empty but it was not formatted - thus the error message.
You can try (on command line/shell):
    dbmcli -U c -uUTL util_execute clear log
and after that try to bring the DB online again.

  • Application error during release to LiveCache

    Hi Experts.
I got some orders stucked in my Outbound Queue in ECC side as SysFail with the error "Application error during release to LiveCache". When I click to activate the queue the order is released and transferred to APO. The question is Why is getting stopped?
    Thank you!

    Hi Everybody.
SAP Provided me a note to implement to fix this issue. The note number is 1238616 but I need to understand how to reproduce this error in SandBox to implement this note and check if the problem will get fixed...
Currently my OSS is assigned to SAP (Live Cache team) to let me know the root cause for this problem and how to reproduce in lower environment (sandbox) to implement the note and check if the problem will get fixed.
As work around we are manually activating these errors in CIF queues that are getting clean.

  • Livecache crashes when starting dbanalyzer after 7.9.08 build 17  Upgrade

    Hello,
We upgraded our livecache to 7.9 build 17. The scm side is upgraded 713 SP3. After we upgraded the livecache, when we start
livecache from LC10, livecache db starts up but when it starting dbnalyzer (dban_start ...), it crashes livecache and stop livecache. We can start
and stop livecache from dbmcli and livecache performs fine without dbanayzer. We also noticed after the upgrade, 7.9 does not like the maxcpu parameter =6. We had to lower that to 1 to start livecache as well.
    Steps for Reconstruction
go to LC10 or dbanalyzer, try to start livecache or DB

    Hi Deepak,
Sorry for the delay. We had to wait for root access.
Attached 03 new files. The issue we have is on IA3 system. Ia1 system does not have the issue and we upgraded that few weeks ago. You can see the sapdb client versions are different on IA3 higher than IA1. sdbverify did not show any errors.
The system has the issue starting lkivecache thru LC10:

  • Cannot bring liveCache database into "warm" mode

    Hello,
We recently added disk capacity to our liveCache server and when we were adding data volumes one of the devices that was assigned to a log volume was also assigned to a new data volume.
When we stopped the database and re-started it, we started getting the following errors:

It appears that we've either corrupted or destroyed one of our log volumes so the database will not start. Our recovery method of choice would be to re-initailize our database and restore from a good backup, but recently found out our backups are no good.
We've also tried to clear the logs using the 'util_execute clear log' command, but that is not working either:
    dbmcli on LCT>util_execute clear log
    ERR

    -902,Message not available
Does anyone have any ideas on how we might be able to fix the issue and save our database?
    Thanks.

Can someone please help as I am out of ideas.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
if you're an official SAP customer, please open an official OSS message on queue BC-DB-LVC(-INS). An open Telnet-connection would greatly ease and speedup the analysis of the issue.
My 2 cts on your issue:
I suggest you check the liveCache software installation using 'sdbverify' to make sure that at least the software is installed correctly and all permissions are set as they should. Note <a href="https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=DISPL_TXT&_NNUM=546737&_NLANG=EN>">546737</a> shows more details about sdbverify.
I think the sapinst.log and XCMDOUT.LOG look rather strange, because the sapinst.log shows the liveCache sid to be 'ALP", whereas XCMDOUT.LOG shows DBMCLI commands to a liveCache instance named 'dbciASP' .
I don't think the 'dbciASP' is correct! Can't realy tell where it came from though, without a connection.
    Regards,
    Roland

  • How to start/stop an Xserver?

    Gurus:
Would you please help tell how to start/stop an Xserver?
    Thanks!

    Hi Linda Li,
Basically it depends on enviroment and If it's unix then it depends on how you configure your scripts in /etc/init.d
    1. If you are looking for on how to start & stop XServer for environment APO/LiveCache & MaxDB then below are commands
    x_server [<options>] [start]
    x_server stop
    2. If its on general UNIX then
If you're in X and want to stop it, bring up the terminal window and type:
    init 3
To start X from the command line, type either:
    startx
    or
    init 5
    I hope this helps you.
    Thanks and best regards
    Sekhar

  • ST22 timeout for all LC related transactions  LIVE cache start stop working from LC10

    Hi Team
we are a getting a  ST22 timeout for all LC related transactions  LIVE cache start stop working from LC10
    LC version 7.9
    OS AIX
    SAP SCM 7
    SDBVERIFY giving the following error
    Checking package Redist Python
    Checking package Loader
    Checking package ODBC
    Checking package Messages
    Checking package JDBC
    Checking package DB Analyzer
    ERR: Failed
    ERR: Checking installation "Legacy" failed
ERR: Group of directory /sapdb/data/config/install changed [0 =>
    sdbregview -l is showing good.
any idea what might went wrong.
trying to use sdbverify -repair_permissions , but not sure about the exact syntax to use.
and it is not related to timeout parameter, we tested with different timeout values, but still the same error.
    thanks
    Kishore Ch

    Hello Kishore,
you could check the sizing of the liveCache data.
    * Report  /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_REORG_SNP has checks  of the SNP planning areas for superfluous objects.
    * Delete old/temporary APO data.
    * /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_REORG report checked TS superfluous objects.
If you didn't create the planning versions, copy of planning versions & data load to liveCache, then create the SAP message to check your system on the question of the dataarea usage.
If you have the long running APO transactions => performance of the SCM system has to be checked.
If you have the bottleneck in liveCache & could not solve the case by yourself => create the SAP message to BC-DB-LVC and get SAP support.
    Best regards, Natalia Khlopina
