Open GUI session of another user

Hi,
I would like to know, how to open a session in different user from another user using ABAP.? I would like to run a TCODE on another user session of same system.
Pls help.

Hi Partha,
There is no way out to kill a user's session in RAR, nor in UME. The only place you can kill a user's session is in backend (R/3 side of a particular system) in T-code: SM04->select a particular session of any user-> end session.

How to open multiple sessions for one user?

Sorry for the silly question but I couldn't find it googling or searching through this forum, so I started wondering whether it's possible in SQL Developer to open multiple sessions for one user. I'm fairly new to SQL Developer and databases in general.
When I open SQL Developer and connect to a schema, a worksheet opens named MYSCHEMA. If I disconnect then connect, another worksheet opens, named MYSCHEMA~1. I assumed these were different sessions, but if I enter into one worksheet:
select col1 from my_table where row_id = 1
-- shows result is 1
update my_table set col1 = 0 where row_id = 1
select col1 from my_table where row_id = 1
-- shows result is 0and then enter into the second worksheet:
select col1 from my_table where row_id = 1
-- shows result is 0I would have expected the second worksheet to report 1 because the first worksheet did not issue a COMMIT. Thus, I'd guess both worksheets are the same session? Is that right? If so, how do I have two sessions open simultaneously (opened by same user)?

Ctrl-Shift-N doesn't do anything for me. I'm on a mac -- by experimenting it looks like command-N does what you're looking for. This appears to be the same as left-clicking on the "New" icon in the top left corner of SQL Developer, or selecting from the pull-down menu, File > New.
This opens "Create a New" window that appears to be a wizard. What would I select at this point? Options are: Database Connection, Table, View, Package, ...
I don't see an option for "Worksheet".
UPDATE:
OK, I found that if I select "SQL File", a worksheet becomes available. Perhaps this is what you intended. However, when I issue the command
select col1 from my_table where row_id = 1;it still returns 0 instead of 1. Hmm, maybe my initial assumption was wrong -- if this is a second (e.g. different) session, should I expect the changes made in the first session in SQL Developer (the UPDATE command) WITHOUT a commit, to be observed in this second session? I thought that changes made in one session were not viewable in a different session until these changes are committed in the first session? If so, how to show this in SQL Developer? I must be missing something basic here.
Or, is SQL Developer issuing some sort of "auto-commit" without my knowledge?

I cant open my itunes because "another user as it open"

Hellow, I have itunes for two years now and recently when I am trying to open my itune it just open a window saying "you cannot open the application itubes because another user as it open" but I dont have another user on my windows 7 computer so I dont understant what I should do?

1. First check if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
2. If that fails, refer to following article to remove SC Info.lib file:

Connect the current portal session to another user

We have to do application management for portal users. Often it's necessary to have the same view as the customer. So administrators need a portlet for specifying the user credentials and connecting the current portal session to this user. It's not possible to ask every user for his password.Has anybody created such a portlet?Is it possible to do this? Can I use the EDK or do I need the plumtreeserver - DLL? Which class do I need? Thank you - It works! Now I have an IPTSession-Object for the given user. But how can I set this to the current portal instance? I get only new sessions but I didn't find any way to change the current session.

Open new session in another language - Helpdesk tool!

Hi,
We have a lot of Chinese and Indian colleagues who ring up our German hotline with SAP problems. Normally we are signed on in German (which we understand!) but we would like to open a new session in English, without having to sign on again, so we can call transactions in English and explain what is going on to our friends abroad.
I understand from a colleague that this is possible....unfortunately I don't know how to do it!
Any ideas?

P.S. I can create a new session like this:

But even when I change my language (SY-LANGU/Language in SU01 etc.) my new session is in the "original" language.

I am not sure whether its a feasible option for you or not as you have to create an RFC destination for English Login.
You can create an RFC destination with your Login details and language as EN
Then you can run the FM - 'ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION' with destination as the One Created Above and Tcode as SESSION_MANAGER
This will open a new login with EN language.
You can also create RFC destination and just Click "Remote Logon" to open EN login session

Can't open an application in another users profile

I installed the Corel painter into my Macbook pro it works fine in my profile but when my little brother logs in his, it wont open. A pop up box comes out saying the application has been modify to install from original CD. I try installing it on his profile from the CD but still can't open. I have it checked off in the parental controls for him to use and still no luck. I have deleted and reinstalled the application. Some Please Help? Thanks

Client application freezes permanently when one user logoff and another user take that session on windows server 2008 r2

we have windows server 2008 r2 and In our application there are three server and on e client application.
My client application freezes on a specific scenario.
Steps taken to hang are following:-
1. start client application
2. open an module named by XYZ
3. login to remote machine with another session./ Another user login from their computer.
4. connect with the session which have client application opened.
5. Whenever the session is forcibly taken client application becomes unresponsive.

PDF's are becoming locked if someone has it open and another user tries to overwrite

We have a regional office seeing numerous issues with PDF files. The scenario is an engineer has a PDF open for review. Another user attempts to overwrite the PDF using another application. They get an error message that states the PDF cannot be overwritten (as expected). The odd thing is that once the engineer closes the PDF document the PDF remains locked and they are unable to update. We've checked on the server side and there are no signs that the document is locked or read-only. The only way they can release the lock on the file is to reboot the machine that had the PDF open for viewing. Any idea what might be going on? Seems odd. Like I said we only see the issue when someone tries to overwrite the file when it's open for viewing. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I can't open downloaded files because other USER Profile defaults

I inherited a laptop using Vista, which has Firefox vs.27.0.1.
I set up a new user profile for Firefox, using my name.
When I download a file, it shows up in the download section (the arrow at the top right of the address bar)
When I click on it and open it...another Users information appears c:/USERS/ADAM/DESKTOP/DESKTOP
The file tries to open and then disappears.
How to I change my setup so that I can download AND open files without them being blocked by the original user?

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

I won't think, it is possible in a simple SQL query. Its difficult to know the currently open form/window in SAP application....
For better result, you can go ahead with BOYM or you can develope through your SDK coding....

Forced to Close all open applications when switching between users.

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 13 inch, and have 2 accounts set up on the computer.
When switching between users on the computer, I am always forced to close all open applications on the current user, in order to switch to another user.
I was wondering if there was ANY way to keep the pages (specifically Safari) open when switching to another user, so that I can go back to them when I log back in to the other account.

JCO-Java application unable to open a Frontend GUI session

Hello,

I am having a problem opening a GUI session on a client PC through the JCo java call. It works on some PC's when I am logged in, but not on my PC. But other persons who login on my PC do not have a problem with the application opening a GUI session. I am at a loss. I have had a basis consultant look into this and he could not find a reason for the problem. I have submitted a customer message to SAP and am being told to file this issue in the forum, so here it is. If this is the wrong forum, please let me know which forum would be the correct one.


Problem:
For test purposes, I have created a Java application using the SAP standalone SAPJCO3 vers. 3.0.1. The R/3 backend is 4.6C. The SAPGui version is 7.1 patch level 13 installed on a Windows XP Pro client PC. The application is supposed to start a Frontend GUI session as part of the initial process. This is not working on all PCu2019s for all users. The following are scenarios for two different users on two different PCu2019s, logged on and executing the Java application. The parameters for the Java application are: User, Password, and System Id in this order on the command line after the Java applicationu2019s name. The system Id in our example is PRP in uppercase. This problem happens while connecting to any of our R/3 instances.


Testing of the issue:
Scenario 1:
User gmcghie: This user is the primary user of his/her PC. This PC has not had its registry entries cleaned up for a long time. Starting the Java application from the Windows command line with the supplied parameters, the program is executed and makes the initial connection with the R/3 backend. When the R/3 system sends back a request to start the GUI session, the SAP Logon is executed and opens on the PC. Nothing seems to happen after this.

Here is the JCO exception from the log file:
JCoException eDest: (136)com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (136) JCO_ERROR_ILLEGAL_STATE: Launching SAP GUI failed, though it was requested (error message: Communication with SAPGUI timed out)


When you right click on the SAP Logon icon that is in the Windows System Tray on the PC you see an entry that shows a session for Client 000. This is the wrong client being called by the application. The client being called is 600 in this particular scenario.


Here is the connection string sent to backend for scenario 1:
TYPE=A DEST=PRP USER="gmcghie" PASSWD=********** CLIENT=600 LANG=E ASHOST=10.212.120.53 SYSNR=00 TRACE=1 PCS=1 USE_SAPGUI=2


Scenario 2:
User mshin: This user is the primary user of his/her PC. This PC has had the OS re-installed on it within the last few years, hence the registry is likely more clean. Starting the Java application from the Windows command line with the supplied parameters, the program is executed and makes the initial connection with the R/3 backend. When the R/3 system sends back a request to start the GUI session, the SAP Logon is executed and opens on the PC. The connection is made to Client 600 and the process ends. The screens that appear above for the other scenario are not present when the connection is successful. The log file is not included for this as it was empty because it succeeded.


Here is the connection string sent to backend for scenario 2:
TYPE=A DEST=PRP USER="mshin" PASSWD=********** CLIENT=600 LANG=E ASHOST=10.212.120.53 SYSNR=00 TRACE=1 PCS=1 USE_SAPGUI=2

I have the same issue on my PC as the first scenario.
The steps I took to try to get this to work are as follows.
1. Un-installed and re-installed the SAPGui, several times with no change.
2. Compared the registry settings of SAPGui between working and non-working PCu2019s. These were essentially the same.
3. Compared the system variables between working and non-working PCu2019s. These were essentially the same.
It should also be noted that if user u2018gmcghieu2019 from scenario #1 logs into another PC, the program executes correctly (for most other PCs but not all). Finally, if user u2018mshinu2019 from scenario #2 (certain other users as well) logs into Windows on the primary PC for user u2018gmcghieu2019 from scenario #1, and user u2018gmcghieu2019 is used to connect to SAP using the Java program, the program executes correctly. It seems that this would indicate some problem with the useru2019s Windows account on certain PCs.
Why is the connection information being dropped? How is the process of opening the SAPGui on the frontend done?
Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Created Customer Message and got answer. There were settings in Windows Registry for starting the SAP Logon Launch Pad which had to have a value of 1.

Failing to create an email with outlook interop when outlook has been opened by another user account

I have an addin that customizes the excel ribbon. I added a button so that when the user clicks it, a new outlook message windows pops up with some default information on the email body, CCs, etc.
The problem is that if outlook is already running and it's running under another user account different from the one that was used to open excel (e.g. after opening excel i open outlook with shift + right click and then "Run As..."); i get an exception upon
instantiating the outlook interop object:
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application app = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application();
The exception message reads:
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80080005 Server execution failed (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80080005 (CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE)).
What can i do to prevent this issue from happening?

In that situation I would test first for an existing Outlook process running and hook into it if it is running. If it's not running then I'd use new to create an Outlook session. There can only be one Outlook session running
at a time.
This sort of code will do the trick for you I think:

Certificate prompt in RDP session and then puts an Allow/Deny option on another users session

The users have a SSL cert installed with the private key so they can access a certain web site and when they access the site using the Windows 2012 R2 RDP server they are getting prompted with a Windows Security dialogue (Confirmation Certificate) and they
press ok. Another user will now get the next message asking if to allow or deny access to the cert. If they click allow the web site will appear for the original user.

Can you clarify the actual error message you are getting? Also please let us know, whether there is any event log available.
Seems that you have not placed the certificate under Local Computer\Personal Store. Kindly recheck the configuration related to certificate and please keep the certificate under above path with its private key and verify. You can follow below steps for information.
• Open the MMC and open the Certificates snapin
• Add the Local Computer
• Import the certificate into Computer\Personal
• Open the certificate and find the thumbprint on the details tab. Copy the thumbprint to notepad and delete all the spaces.
• Open up an elevated PowerShell prompt and write:
• wmic /namespace:\\root\cimv2\TerminalServices PATH Win32_TSGeneralSetting Set SSLCertificateSHA1Hash=”‎PASTE_THUMBPRINT_STRING”
• You can check the certificate by running:
• Get-WmiObject -class “Win32_TSGeneralSetting” -Namespace root\cimv2\terminalservices -Filter “TerminalName=’RDP-tcp'”
