Open JSP in source view always

Is there any way I can tell Jdev to only open my JSPs in the source view? It defaults to design view now. I am using 10.1.2.

The Preferences>JSP and HTML Visual Editor has some checkboxes to Synchronize Design with Source Edits.
Design is the default selection in the jsp editor.
Source view may be selected by selecting the Source tab.
The preferences do not have a setting to set Source View as the default.

  • Opening a jsp directly in source view and not design view

I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4, and everytime I double click in Application Navigator onto a .jsp file, it is opened directly into design view. Instead I'd like it to be opened directly into source view. Is it possible ? Thanks.

    In menu Tools -> Preferences...
Select File Types on the left
    Click tab 'Default Editor'
Select the File Type (JSP Source in your case) and change the default editor.
    Hope this helps,
    Didier.

  • Opening jsp files in JDeveloper as source

Does anyone know how to open jsp/jspx files in JDeveloper (10.1.3.4) as source, by-passing the design tab? For some reason with some files my IDE locks up when I open a file and it is generating the design screen. I want it to default to source mode for all files.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
Take a look at JDeveloper settings - change the default code editor view for JSPx  files .

  • Opening a new browser window always puts a flv-file (0bytes of a youtube vid viewed earlier) on desktop. Firefox 18.02

Opening a new browser window always puts a flv-file (0bytes of a youtube vid viewed earlier) on desktop. Firefox 18.02
viewed the yuotube vid yesterday. deleted all the flv-files on the desktop.
same thing today, a new window always puts the same empty file from yesterday.
    any suggestions?

You can check the home page setting:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • How to make one firefox window`s actions duplicate on all opened firefox windows. duplicating tabs only opens the original source of page, not current page view

I want to know is there a way to open, say 3, Firefox windows and duplicate the actions done on one to happen across all open Firefox windows. I want to use the repeat feature, left click followed by ENTER the whole time on a current thing I'm working on. The tabs won't work because I have to flip through them the whole time. I'm currently doing this on two computers at the same time but need an easier way. If I duplicate tabs, it only opens the original source of the page I duplicate and not the current page I'm viewing so its a time taking process to click on the links where I need to be then start doing the control+tab. Speed is a major issue so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am still trying to figure out what it is you are trying to do.
You have X number of pages open, and you want what you do to one page
to also be repeated on the other pages? Most browsers think that multiple
    pages are individual, and separate.
What is it you are working on? No secured information, please.

  • "Always Open In..." View Options for Root Level of a Disk Image File

I ran into a problem/bug tonight that I can't find listed anywhere and was wondering if anyone else has encountered it. I am using Snow Leopard (now 10.6.1), upgraded from the last revision of Leopard.
I create DVD-R sized disk images with Disk Utility (using "Mac OS Extended" only w/o Journaling) for saving downloaded files. Because of the number of files on this disk, I create single-letter folders (for alphabetical filing) and set up these disk images to "Always Open In List View". For the individual folders, I can set these to "Always Open In List View" without a problem. However, for the "root level" of these disk images, I can only access "Always Open In Icon View" no matter which view option is selected.
For previously created disk images that were already set to "Always Open In List View", these show the previously set "List View" at the disk image "root level" as expected. But if I uncheck the box, it immediately goes to "Always Open In Icon View". And like before, no matter which view option is selected, I can never get back to "Always Open In List View". Note also that I can set this option as expected for "root levels" of real disks - this only seems to be a problem with the disk image files.
I had no problems at all with this under Tiger or Leopard. I've only run into this now under Snow Leopard. The upgrade tonight to 10.6.1 hasn't seem to affect this problem.
So should I be doing something differently now to get this option to reappear, a possible conflict with something on my computer or is this a bug with Snow Leopard? Can anyone else duplicate this issue?

Additional info, in case anyone is running into this issue...
If I do the following with the "root level" of the disk image, I can set the "Always Open in List View" option.
    1. Open the "root level" view of the disk image - for me, it always opens in icon view. Then, select "Show View Options" from the View menu.
    2. Check the "Always Open in Icon View" box. While leaving this dialog open, select "as List" from the View menu.
    3. Uncheck the "Always Open in Icon View" box. It will instantly turn into "Always Open In List View". Recheck this box immediately, then close dialog. This will make the setting stick.
I've been able to repeat this situation several times. I might be wrong, but it sure acts like a small bug to me. Hope this helps anyone else who might have encountered this issue.

  • How to add entries a jsp file during a Source view

    hi all,
im currently extending the tags present on BEA. im creating my own custom tag. when i tried to drag and drop it on the current source view of the jsp file..
is it possible for me to check the current source code of the jsp file first before preceding. For example. if the tag to be inserted must be within a certain tag only..
or modify an existing tag. say a <netui:form > and add some attributes on it.

Looks like Crystal Reports is using log4j for logging, which is so badly designed that it throws a fit if the log4j configuration is missing.
All you need to do to get it to work is put a log4j.properties file in the classpath (google for a dummy file with default values). It usually needs to be put in the root of the classpath.
Or you can initialize the log4j logging for your own application properly and Crystal Reports will piggyback on it.

  • How to make 'always open in ... view' check box actually work?

What I need is a "Make 'Always open in ... view' check box work" check box.
    Specifically:
I double click on my hard drive icon to open its window. I press command 3 to make it display in column view. I press command J and check "Always open in column view" and check the further check box, "Browse in column view". Then later on having viewed various windows I double click on the hard drive icon and it opens in some other view than column view. So, how to make the check box do what it actually says it will do?
    Thanks.
edit: In fact in Panther, and probably other older OS X's, all folders would generally remember (I think) how it was last viewed and use that again. How to make that happen? Thanks.

  • Always open files in code view?

I never use design view and it's very annoying that Dreamwaver CS4 can't seem to understand and remember that. I can be editing a file one day in code view, and when I open the file again the next day it opens in design view!? Is there a setting for this somewhere or is this a bug? Any suggestions for a solution?

The preference to open in Code view prevents that page type from being opened any other way. It means open ONLY in Code view.
The way that Dreamweaver opens documents follows a logical pattern. If no document is open, the first document is opened in whichever view was active when the last document was closed or Dreamweaver was shut down. If a document is already open, Dreamweaver opens the next document in the same view.
If you always work in Split view, as I do, all documents will open in Split view. The only exception is if you open a file that is set to open in Code view only. If that document is active when you open a new document, it will also be in Code view.
It's logical and simple to understand. If you don't like the way it works, file an enhancement request through the official form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

  • AppleScript or Terminal Control for "View Options"/"Always open in ... view

    Greetings, folks!
I have not been able to figure out how to script (or, even better, a Terminal command line) control of the "Always open in (name of view) view" checkbox in the “View Options” panel for LARGE numbers of windows; I prefer not to use GUI scripting, it takes too long.
I do not EVER want that box unchecked and do not want to have to manually check many thousands of folder’s checkboxes. As soon as I can figure this out, I will set every folder on my hard drives to always open in list view and write a script such that any folder created will automatically be set to always open in list view.
AppleScript can set every attribute value in a window, except the "Always open in (name of view) view" checkbox.
I have always expected that the data would be stored in the “.DS_Store” file, but, AFAICT it is not; changing the value for a “.DS_Store” file, logging out and back in, and then re-opening it in HexEdit or BBEdit showed the pre-change and post-change files to be identical.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!!

  • How to display an xml file contents in jsp as tree view

    hi,
Iam trying to read an xml file and display the structure in jsp as tree view, can any one help me

Use a [XML or DOM parser|http://java-source.net/open-source/xml-parsers] to read a XML file into a tree structure of Java objects.
Use the [Collections API|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/collections/index.html] to get hold of the relevant elements in a tree structure.
Use JSTL´s [c:forEach|http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/bnakh.html] tag to iterate over a Collection in JSP.
Use HTML´s [<ul>/<li>|http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/struct/lists.html#h-10.2] or [<dl>/<dt>/<dd>|http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/struct/lists.html#h-10.3] tags to represent a tree in HTML.

  • JDeveloper slow to open JSPs

Hello, I was wondering if any one had suggestions on how to reduce the delay in opening JSPs in JDeveloper? I'm using version 10.1.3.1 and, while it's pretty responsive in most cases, there's a noticeable delay in opening JSP files. Is there a way to open the files in 'source' view rather than 'design' view? I've seen people reference that distinction, but can't find a preference for it. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Didier,
The method "show message log" does not show any error in my case and all my libraries aren't missing.
My problem came when I place <afc:cache> in one of my jspx that are to be included in other jspx. When I remove this tag, the view came out. But it takes ages to display the design for all of my jsp. It even worse today that when I ran my application and quit, the little button on the embedded OC4J server log for stopping the server is disabled (doesn't show in red) and I need to click Run-->Terminate from the menu to stop my OC4J !!
For the trick provided by romanna, it solved the problem of slow rendering but the design now turned to boxes instead of WYSIWYG

  • Bug in Page source view

In Page Source view in 32-bit Firefox 3.6 under Windows, if there is a URL in the source code that is erroneously not closed with a quote, for example:
    <a href="http://mozilla.com>The Mozilla' site</a>
(Note absence of quote after .com)
And you reload the source view, it loads the source of the page in the URL instead.
In normal page view, leaving off the quote will cause the link not to be displayed, so it is a common reason to open source view and try to identify the problem.

You can disable the context highlighting if you find that distracting. In this case it should make noticing that something is wrong more easily though. A link starts with a quote and ends with a quote and everything between the two is considered the link. If the second quote is omitted then it is the choice of the developer on how to deal with it. Either not to interpret the text in between (you may even have forgotten to HTML escape some characters &amp;quote; &amp;lt;) or try to catch up in case you forgot a closing quote. Both can have their disadvantages in case of an error from you.

I searched for this class, and it is supposed to be in uic.jar. However, when I opened that jar file it was not there. Did I set something up wrong, or is this a bug in jdeveloper?

When I am trying to open a VO inside JDeveloper for editing. The issue appears only to be with the VO's, even the ones that were automatically created at the start of the tutorial. Other types of objects can be opened for editing without incident.

    Hi Harsimran
    Thanks for the reply,
    1) Source view
In  "Source View" i have input field called Customer_no. But,  the end user will not have any idea , what customer no to enter. so i am searching the customer no in the popup view.
    1) Customer_no( This is an inputfiled , to get the customer no from the popup view)
    2) Get Customer NO( This is a button to call the popup view)
"Get Customer NO" This button action will open the popup view.
    In this popup, i have
    1) Input field (To enter the search term)
    2) Search (To seach the customer no based on the search term)
    3) Table ( To display the search data)
    4) Button in Table tool bar called "Select" .( To close the popup view after selected the required data in the table to pass it back to the source view).
so in the popup view what happening is, when i click on the search button itself , it is closing the popupview  by transfering the first row of the tbale ,with out select the required row in the table.
i need to close the window after click on the "Select" button in the toolbar , after selected the required row data to trasfer in the table.
Can u pelase tell me what are the modifcations i need to do it.
    Regards
    Vijay
