Open modal window with extern URL?

Hello,
how can I open a modal window with a external url?
e.g. I want to open Google, but WD Code should stop and the google window is in front of my portal until it is closed. Then WD code continues.
WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute(..) can't open a modal window, right? WD Source Code keeps running...
Can I open a WD-Window with context from a external URL?
I would be grateful for any help!

Modal Window to external Url

Hello all!
I found some forum posts but I couldn't find a solution on that.
We are having two WDJ applications, running in portal. In application "A" I want to call application "B", whilst App "A" needs to be unmodifieable. I would prefer a pop up window of App "B" while "A" is locked as long as "B" is active (not finished).
Portal eventing won't work, because it will not be shown next to each other but in two different windows.
Best would be a modal window wherein App "B" is shown. but I can't figure out how I can show a wdj window popUp pointing to another url.
If anybody knows how to open a model pop up pointing to a url would be great, if anybody knows how to pass the event "finished" from that window to the other application would also be great

Hi, I'm an IT student still learning Oracle and I'm doing this little project for school
Now I'm designing a program for a videostore.
I'm displaying an URL in a field and I have a button next to it.
Now if I press the button I want to open a new explorer window, with that URL...
I know all about triggers and stuff, no problem.
But how can I do this... looked all over the web, and all over the help files.
Any suggestions?

Photoshop only has one Color Palette. If you could script something like a Color Palette with two sets of active sliders the script would be in control till you dismissed its sliders dialog. They open new windows with ads for online gambling, online dating among other things. I am growing sick and tired of these ads, and have tried multiple things. I have uninstalled and reinstalled software, I have blocked pop-up ads and unenabled Java script. I have tried everything I could find, but nothing has worked. I have even downloaded AdBlock and Clean Genius. Nothing has even remotely changed this annoying trait. I hope this can be a quick fix I can perform and not something that will have to be done by a tech-hand. Please, if you know anything about this issue, let me know how to fix it.

I wonder why I open untagged JPEG with "external editor" (Photoshop CS) , then the JPEG will be attached with sRGB profile. Of course my color setting on photoshop is "Use the embedded profile".
I think sRGB is the default RGB space of colorsync utility , because the profile is also sRGB when you check "Add Colorsync Profile" on iPhoto 6.
Anyway , I want to set up total Adobe RGB workflow , so does anybody know how to change sRGB profile to Adobe RGB profile when opening untagged JPEG directly with external editor?

I am sorry , but I noticed my misunderstanding message.
As you know , you can change raw and other image files to tiff or psd for external editor. You can select that on the preference. At this situation , if you pass nontagged image file to external editor , then automatically sRGB profile is attached.
I don't think this is related to export preset for JPEG file.

Whenever I start Firefox it opens 10 windows with blank tabs

Every time I start up firefox it opens 1 window with the open tab from my previous session and 9 more windows with blank tabs.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

i have to create a form with some items.there are two text field item :p1_item_group and :p1_item_name.
i want to design these form like telly Form .eg in a telly form like if we want to enter state in text field and cursor come on State text field then open a window with all state name in right side and user select state from these window and state come in to text field.
So i want to this type of action on p1_item_group when cursor come in to this item p1_item_group then quickly open a window with all item group name.

hi manoj,
you can write onFocus event on your textbox from which you want to call a pop up window
write a javascript function and call it onFocus event of textbox. In that function call a new popup page using window.open function.
on that page you will have a values as you mentioned eg A,B,D etc.
then user will select value from there and textbox will get that value.

How to trigger the automated row fetch process and open modal window by javascript api?

I would like to click the one row of column of IR report, to open the modal window of current page. <----------------it is ok. I can use "javascript:openModal('windowID')" to do it.
There is one form in this modal window, Meanwhile, I would like to pass column data to this form.    <--------------------- it is ok also. I can use " $s('P7_ID','column_value');" to do it.
But I don't know how to trigger the "automated row fetch" process of this form to retrieve other field's value in this form.
I tried to use following 2 ways. But failed.
First method:
add one ajax process of "automated row fetch" in "page processing" block, named "get_fetch_data"
when click IR column , call "openModal", and call "apex.server.process ( "get_fetch_data", {}, { success: function( pData ) { } } );" , I tried to call above ajax process to refresh form. It is failed.
Second method:
add one process of "automated row fetch" in "page rendering" block, named "get_fetch_data"
when click IR column, call javascript api "apex.submit" to submit current page , then call "openModal".
such as : javascript:apex.submit({request:'MODIFY',set:{'P7_ID': #ID#}}); openModal('trade');
But it is failed also. the modal page is showed firstly. then page refresh. but modal window will not open again.
I am not sure if my thinking is right. Could you please provide any suggestion?

Hi Ping,
You can try to set the session state of your modal page's primary key before opening the modal page. Use one dynamic action (on click of IR row) with two true actions. First one to set session state of modal page pk, second on to open modal page.
Or you can add the modal page url as link in your report by extending your query:
select ...
,         apex_util.prepare_url( 'f?p='||:APP_ID||':7:'||:APP_SESSION||'::'||:DEBUG||':7:P7_ID'||COLUMN_VALUE ) as link
from ...
This will give you the url of the modal page, with set primary key.

New browser window is getting open successfully but after opeing this new window if I do any operation such like selecting item from selectOneChoice or checkbox selection from the screen from which I have launce new browser window then is giving me below message.

Please give me the solution so that I can stay on the screen and can continue with that screen after opening new browser window.
Currently after opening new window as mentioned above, I can't do anything. If I press ok button then it will give me login page and if I press cancel button then my screen component's state become invalid.

We have resolved the issue. Cookies max age was set as current browser seeion in websphere.
After changing it as some max seconds, it is working fine.

You can use the very same Javascript function that
Dreamweaver writes, and then call that function from Flash using
the ExternalInterface.call method. Look at online help for
ExternalInterface.call. There is a good example shown there.
