Hello, if your install disk is locked (I assume with FileVault) there is no way to change the password. If it weren't locked there were at least two solutions. As far as I know, the only solutions now are:
    - contact your dad
    - erase and reinstall the OS X clean

  • Password protected PDF document not opened with E7...

    Dear all,
Password protected PDF document not opened with nokia E7-00. Previously I used nokia N79, that time I was able to open Password protected PDF file such as bank email statement etc. Now I can't.
It is quite disappointing with this phone !

    hi mateys,
you may want to search under "PDF" in the Nokia Store, as some solutions such as Picsel Smart Office exist, where they do open password-protected PDF's.

  • Opening Password protected PDF's

I am using the AcrobatPDFOCX control in a Visual Basic 2005 program to open and view PDF documents.  I have several password protected PDF files that I wish to open using this control.  Here is the command that I use to open  a PDF File
    AxAcroPDF1.LoadFile(Application.StartupPath + "\" + FileName + ".PDF")
When this command executes for a Password Protected PDF I am prompted to provide the password.  Is there a way to pass the password programmatically from VB to the password protected PDF file thus allowing it to open.

Thanks for your prompt reply.  I tried SendKeys.wait("Password") and SendKeys.sendwait("Password").  Neither one appeared to work.  Prompt for password showed but the string "Password" was not read or sent or went to bit heaven. I tried using WinExist("Password") but VB is saying this function has not been declared.  Can you help with the declaration I need to activate this function?

  • When I try to open up a PDF document, i get the following error message: "There was an error opening this document. The network path was not found" AArrgh please help as I need to open up my documents. Thanks.

When I open up a PDF Document all i get is an error message saying: "There was an error opening this document. The network path was not found" I dont know how to fix this, so looking for some advice please, as I really need o open up my documents.
    Thank for any help.

The documents I’m trying to read are already saved on my computer, under various different headings, I know that we have a server, so I only assume these documents are saved on here, as I said before I’m not good with all this techno stuff. I do my work each week ( on a payroll system) and save the documents for each company, they automatically go to the correct place. I never request for them to be saved in a certain place ( well not that I’m aware of) . I then on occasions need to open up this information, it is then that I can’t read or open the documents. We do have a tech help, but they are off sick until the 5th Jan, hence me trying to work out if I can fix this problem through this help site. Its ADOBE Reader that I’m trying to use.

  • Unable to open password protected PDF in safari

Dear all, I'm new in using iPhone safari. I have problem in opening password protected PDF file from safari. Do you have any solution or workaround to resolve this problem
    Regards
    BR

You can put pretty much any character into the encryption password for a PDF file apart from control codes (carriage returns, backspaces, etc), but whether the vendor's website can is another matter!
As you seem to have a PDF with a user password that isn't what you expected, there's nothing you can do to remove it other than perhaps trying a version without the quote characters, or with a backslash in front of the quote (it's possible they escaped the string on the login form in preparation for storing it in a database, and forgot to unescape it again).

  • Can't open password protected PDF files.

As per the thread title, I can't seem to open password protected PDF files via the Mail app.
I've read that you can open them if they're synced and opened via iBook, however, this is not an option for me.
I get sent several password protected PDF for work per week and would like to be able to read them directly from the Mail app just like a regular PDF file.
Does Apple know of this issue and will they implement a fix in the near future?

Download the free Adobe Reader app from the App Store. It opens password protected PDFs just like thee desktop version.

  • Password protecting pdf documents

Need to know what the minimum Adobe software I need to purchase to password protect pdf documents that I need to email.

You need to purchase Adobe Acrobat for this.

  • Cannot open up a pdf document

I got the trial for Acrobat XI.  The trial period ended.  I bought the subscription.  Now, every time I try to open up a pdf document, the trial window opens and the pdf does not open.  This is urgent and I need to open the document up now.  If I cannot fix this problem quickly, I will cancel my recent order.  Please help.

    Hi Todd,
On the trial Window you need to click on 'License the software' and use your Adobe ID to license the software.
The purchased subscription is linked to your Adobe ID.

  • How to open Password proteced PDFs ?

    Hi,
I have some work related PDFs with me which are password protected. I can access it via Adobe from my Windows PC at work. At home I usually use Preview to open PDF files, but unable to use it to open password protected PDFs. Any workaround to open them without installing Adobe ?

I have opened secure PDF files with preview multiple times. I would like to ask you a few questions to get a better idea of what is happening with your situation. With it being password protected is it an automatic authentication that takes place at work, or do you know the password? What happens when you try to open it on your Mac?

  • Unable to open or combine PDF documents

    Adobe Pro 11
operating on Windows 7. Adobe Pro has been giving us trouble for some time. When trying to open or combine PDF documents the program is unresponsive.
Our IT contractor has tried to 'repair' this several times which only seems to last for the remainder of htat day.
because this is severely bogging us down, we decided to try and uninstall and re-install the program.
we now can not open any PDF documents.
    HELP!!

I tried your recommendation, however it did not work. I still can’t open Adobe itself or any Adobe documents.
