Open/save specific file from Oracle Directory
Hi.
How can I build a button that, when clicked, opens a open/save dialog directly from a file existing in a specific Oracle Directory?
I don't want the user to choose file.
APEX 4.0.1.
Can you help me? I know you hear this all the time, but it's kind of urgent...

Reading file from oracle directory at client side

I have a SWING app. which connects to an Oracle db.
My goal is to read files from oracle directory with java through JDBC. I export some dumps with datapump and they need to be transferred to a client machine. There is no access to oracle directory at network filesystem level.

TIA, SandorAn Oracle Directory has an underlying OS directory associated with it, Oracle just overlays it's control structure onto an existing folder in the OS. You can manipulate the files with stored procedures in Oracle or at the OS level from outside of Oracle.
If you manipulate the files from the OS level, outside of Oracle, you may need a refresh of the Oracle Directory structure. -

Hello,
I have a form containing a block of records with files set up in a tabular layout. Each row has a checkbox to indicate if that row is selected. What I want to do is allow the user to save each file from checked rows to a directory of their choice on their machine when a button is pressed. Is it possible to do this in one command at the same time using WEBUTIL_FILE to save all the selected files to the same directory, or would I need to loop through each row and call the save dialog each time?
Thanks.I'm not sure I follow. The SAVE_DIALOG is building the path including the filename where the files will be saved. If I have 5 different files I want to save at the same time and only show the dialog once, I will only have a path for one of the files. How could I loop through the rest afterwards?

I have just upgraded to OSX 10.6.8 and now I cannot open or save PDF files from the internet using either Safari or Firefox. I get a dialogue box saying the QuickTime plugin has failed. Can anyone help?

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -

Viishnu NekkantiIn case you want to open a .cmdrw with its associated application you can use the following procedure:
webutil_host.NonBlocking( 'rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler ' || client_filename );This works for every file where a program has been associated to its file extension. (Adobe Reader for *.pdf, Microsoft Word for *.doc, Microsoft Excel for *.xls and so on)

There is already one function module DOCUMENT_SHOW_DIRECT to open File from document. But
in case of there are more than one file in DMS Document is it giving me Popup menu to open file from List.
I just want to open any single file without any popup from DMS Document.Hi,
from standard point of view this kind of pop-up is always raised by the function module in case there are multiple originals assigned to the document info record.

I have just bought a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. Aperture and Preview can't open the RAW files from this camera. Panasonic recommend downloading 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to save RAW file formats.How can Aperture and Preview read the files?
Either use 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to develope the RAW files and to save them in another lossless format like TIFF, or try if Adobe's free DNG Coverter can convert your Lumix RAW files to dng. Then import the dngs. This way, your files will still be RAW files. This works (most times) for my Lumix FZ28.

Open file from a directory that is not web accessible?
Subject says it all really, I'd like users to be able to download files from a directory that is otherwise not accessible by the browser. There is a way to do this is PHP, the readfile() function. Is there something equivalent in Java?

i am wanting to be able to read a directory but only obtain the Image files (ie, gif, jpeg, tiff, png etc) and ignore all other type of files.
i have made a custom ImageFIlter class which extends FileFilter which works for adding a photo singly, as only image files are shown in the JFileChooser. however i am wanting to add a folder of photos at once.
here is the code so far:

any ideas?it shouldnt be new FileFilter() there, it should be new ImageFilter() but it gives a compilation error saying i cannot apply that parameter to the listFiles() method in the File class

You already ARE using a FileFilter to only pick up image files. Whats the problem?
If you need to recurse directories you need to change your code only a little.

Your exception handling is a little strange. You throw an exception only to catch it immediately to print a stack trace? Not exactly the most common handling I've seen. You should probably just throw the exception and let the next level down handle it.

Generated pdf file from oracle reports show bad characters

Iam fighting with a problem with generated pdf file from oracle reports which show some bad characters. I was searching for some information but it didnt help...
I have Oracle Database 11g R2 (or 10g R2) on Oracle Linux or Windows, Oracle forms and reports 6i (i know that is very old and not supported with 11gr2 but we are in this scenario).
NLS parameters are set like this

When I run Oracle Reports it show perfect in display and when I try to print them, they are all good with good characters, but when I try to generate pdf file, some characters like č,š,ľ are not displaying corectly... This happen only when try to generate to pdf...
I try to work with uifont.ali on client side but without any result. Fonts for reports were installed on client and server side... Can someone help me with this problem? Thank you very much for every advice.

Thank you for your reply. I look at what you wrote and try to make some test...
1) For first I download FontForge, which can generate type1 font from true type. So I open FontForge and open my Arial.ttf font and use "Generate Fonts" to save my Arial.ttf font to pfb and pfm (whoch are need to set in uifont.ali). I have to change encoding, because my font has 2byte encoding so I reecondode the font from ISO10646-1 to ISO8859-2 and generate to pfb.
2) Then I navigate REPORTS_PATH from regedit to my *.pfm and *.pfb files.
3) I add these lines to end of my uifont.ali
[ PDF:Embed ]
Arial = "Arial.pfm Arial.pfb"
ArialNarrow = "ArialNarrow.pfm ArialNarrow.pfb"
4) Then I generate my report but nothing change... I check "Font used" in my pdf file, but there were not my fonts embedded I guess..
I also try PDF:Subset, but it doesnt change anything... I try PDF aliasing to see if my uifont is working - this work very well, but I dont need to change font...

Unable to open large PDF file from the Attachment list.

Users had attached 10 PDF file in the work order attachment list and his supervisor is trying to open the PDF file from the work order attachment list and he is able to open 9 PDF files without any issue, but 1 PDF file is giving the error message as "Database error for <GET DATA FROM KPRO>" and then select ok, we are getting the below message.
Window cannot find u201CC/Documents and Settings/b2m/SaoworkDir/5015851 Vendor data sheets B&P 2010 SDown XXX .PDFu2019. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click serch.
Looks like this particular file is not transferring to the SAP work directory.
Could you please check and suggest us as to how to fix it.

We verified your OSS notes it's not relevant to us Because our issue is while opening the PDF aatchement it is not transferring to my SAP Work Directory because of that reason we are getting the KPRO error. When I'm opening the other PDF files it's transferring to my SAP Work Directory and it's automatically open without any issue.

Java Program to copy file from one directory to another failing

Java beginner here so help is much appreciated. I'm have some java code that I'm using to copy a file from one directory to another in an Oracle Applications Server. I notice that when moving to a new instnace I started to get file not found errors. I think it's because of the directory. My question is, does the directory in which I trying to pick up the file have to be a DBA_DIRECTORY, or a UTL_FILE directory in order for the java to find the file and move it?

If I change the directory from /home/my_user/ to any directory that is defined in DBA_DIRECTORIES or is a UTL_FILE directory to program works. Is it perhaps because the java is in a PL/SQL package as seen below? The PL/SQL program runs as the APPS user and I have issued the following the command grant JAVASYSPRIV to APPS.

Hi, Earlier today I noticed that I am unable to save my emails. Normally I save important e-mails in a folder in Documents, but when I do this, the folder shows nothing. I don't get an error-message or so. I don't understand what's happening. Anyone
