Opening an attached file.

Hi!
How do I create a link to open an attached file?
I have a PDF with the text "click here to open the attached file".
If necessary, you can download the file here. The password is 1234.

Help me, George.
I read but I don't know how to do it.
I tried this:
var d = this.dataObjects;
if ( d == null ) console.println("No file attachments");
else {
for ( var i = d.length - 1; i>=0; i--)
  if ( d[i].test.pdf.indexOf("Untitled Object") != -1 ) break;
if ( i != -1 ) this.exportDataObject(d[i].test.pdf);
else console.println("No attachment was embedded by UI");
where test.pdf is the name of the attached I want to open. I did't work.
What am I doing wrong?

  • Can't open my attached files on my yahoo email account unless clearing all history on Firefox - this is maddening!! Help!

    Everytime I want to open an attached file on my yahoo email, I now have to clear all the history including: Browsing and download history, Form and search history, cookies, and cache before I can open attachments on my yahoo mail and then I have to re-enter all my passwords, etc.
    This was previously not a problem opening any attached files like PDF files or document files.

    Hello,
    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
    ''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    ''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • How To Open PDF Attached file use CLIENT_HOST 11 g forms

    How to open pdf file on client side at 11 g forms ?
    when i open any attached (PDF )file on client side is not open those file open on server side plz guide me how to  open those file on client machine using client host?
    thanks

    Where is the pdf you are trying to open? Is it on the server or the client? If the file is stored on the server then you can access it using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT assuming it is stored in a place that has a virtual mapping. For example:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('http://server/someLocation/file.pdf','_blank');If the file is on the client then you need to configure your application to use WebUtil. Then you can do what Francois suggested.

  • Why cann't I open the attachment files sent to me by e-mails?

    Hi there,
    I have a question.  I receive e-mails with attachment file.  When I clicked at the file, message popped up: Adobe reader cannot open this file. It was sent by e-mail attachment but was incorrectly decoded.  How can I resolve this problem?
    Thank you.

    Nelly, this is a user to user forum; no Adobe personnel is assigned to answer questions here, so you cannot expect instant replies.
    Without further information, I would suggest asking for the PDF file (I am assuming that it is a PDF file) to be sent again but in compressed (zipped) form.

  • Open, Insert, Attach Files window & Spaces?

    I am now using 10.5.1, It is Ok
    Why is it that when I go to open, attach, insert a file the window the opens is very small. Is there a way to make it larger, and also a way to make it larger All-The-Time!
    Still do not see the big deal about Spaces is. I always like to sort all my files in a list view by the last date modified

    That could be a permissions issue or a corrupted (locked) plist file. Try repairing permissions. I don't know what the plist file is, yet. There are various ones for the user interface, but it could be the Finder plist.
    Edit: It appears it is the com.apple.finder.plist file. It is in your user/Library/Preferences folder. Try removing the file to your desktop and Finder will rebuild it, but you will have to reset any finder preferences you changed from the defaults.

    Hi there.
    I think you're bumping into an IE caching bug that's documented in our release notes:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25553_01/relnotes.1012/b25475/suite.htm#SuiteKnownWebAccAttach
    The posted workaround for IE is in the OCS security guide:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25553_01/collab.1012/b25494/midtier.htm#CHDCHBIE
    Please note that this has security ramifications, read the documentation carefully.
    Note the following errata (I believe that this has since been corrected):
    - In the OCS security guide, the path to the configuration file may be incorrect,
    it should be:
    $ORACLE_HOME/ocsclient/config/ocsclient_apache.conf
    - Once the configuration file modification is complete, make sure you restart OHS:
    $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc ias-component=HTTP_Server
    - In the config file, the section to modify mentions 'inline attachments'. This refers
    to the fact that they are opening in the same browser window. It does not mean
    attachments that are automatically previewed in the e-mail body.
    This should fix your problem, please post a reply if it's not fixed.
    Regards,
    -Andrew

  • Windows mail recipient cannot open attached files

    One of my colleagues is unable to open mail attachments from me. Here are the facts that I know:
    I am using Mail.app. I have sent the attachments in both windows friendly and mac formats. The files are .pdf, and MS Word 2004 .doc format.
    My friend can open files from everyone else, but not me.
    All my other windows friends can open my files, but he cannot.
    Are there settings on his machine (either Outlook or Outlook express) that might prevent him from opening my attached files?
    PowerBookG4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Allan...
    I have noticed Windows Exchange Server 2003 "stripping" out my attachments when I select the "Windows Friendly" checkbox. Allow me to elaborate...
    When sending a basic Microsoft Word document from my Mac to his PC (document was composed in Office X, sent via Mac Mail), I selected the "Windows Friendly" option as I typically do for other Windows users.
    He received a .dat file of exactly the same file size and file name. When he attempted to open the .dat file using Microsoft Word the file became corrupted and unusable.
    Ironically, sending the same attachment without the check box (Windows Friendly) the file went through flawlessly as a .doc!
    Yet, another time (to the same user) I accidentally checked the Windows Friendly box and the file went through just fine as a .doc!
    Odd... Yep! But, I'd say 1 out of ever 10-12 emails I send with the "Windows Friendly" checkbox checked to his MSE server '03 results in the .dat file corruption. It's quite odd!

  • Previously, after I moved an attached file to another folder, there still remain a link so that I can click and open the file; but now there is no more link.

    Previously, when I got an email with an attached file, I can take out the file to different folders as I desire and then a filelink would take the place of the file in the email. In this way, when I opened email again, I can click the filelink and open the attached file in the folder to which I had moved.
    Now, I find that there is no more such filelink after I take out the file. The attached file cannot be opened within the email now. Is the program changed or I miss anything?

    did you install an add-on that did that? or are you thinking of another mail program like Eudora?

  • .XLS attached file in Outlook 2013 opens Word !

    Hi,
    I've a strange issue with some of my RDP Servers 2008 R2 (with XenApp 6.5), with Office 2013, Outlook connected to the cloud.
    When I try to open a joined xls file in an mail, Word launches!
    But if I try to open an XLSX, Excel launches.
    And If I detached the XLS, and opened it with explorer, Excel launches!
    These servers are deployed using a sysprep image, and there is only Office 2013 Std version installed.
    Thats very strange. XLS extension association is correct, and everything worked well at the beginning. Something happens which cause this issue.
    Please help me to diagnose and solve this strange phenomenon...

    Hi all, and thanks for your responses.
    I already tried to repair Office 2013, re-associate .XLS files and re-register Excel, and nothing works.
    Some precisions:
    Servers are deployed from a sysprep image (and image is a fresh handmade install) and are going to be used as XenApp servers
    1st connexion RDP, as Administrator: Open Outlook mailbox, open .XLS attached file: Excel launches
    2nd connexion RDP, as User: Open the same Outlook mailbox, open the same .XLS attached file: Word launches !!!
    3rd connexion RDP, as Administrator: Open the same Outlook mailbox, open the same .XLS attached file: Word launches !!!!!
    Something seems to be broken.
    Note 1 – If I create a new mail with Gmail, attached the problematic .XLS file, send the mail to my Outlook mailbox, opens .XLS file in Outlook: Excel launches !!!!!
    Note 2 – If I forward the problematic mail to my Gmail mailbox, and the opened .XLS attached file, Excel launches.
    Note 3 – Everythings works normally with .XLSX attached files.
    So, the issue seems to
    only appear when I attached .XLS files in mails created with Outlook, and opened with Outlook.
    As Fox Mulder is not available any longer, please help me !!!!!

  • Viasualize attached files withou saving in the computer

    I would like to be able to open my attached files without saving in my computer

    That is not really something that will happen, the computer will actually save the file at least temporarily on your computer if you open the attachment.
    What I expect you to be trying to do is
    * open the file and view the content in Firefox
    * or open the file directly with some other application
    What sort of files are you asking about e.g. pictures, Word Documents, or pdf s .
    I am not yet entirely certain what you re trying to do but you may be interested in the solutions in one or more of these articles.

  • BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 - Copy Attached file issue

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a document with attachment in CV01 using the BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2.
    Here my requirement is to copy the attached files from a document to another document (which I will be creating newly).
    I mean attachments from document 1 to document 2.
    When I try using this bapi BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2, what should I give in the docpath parameter.
    I have storage category to maintain.
    Even though if I pass storage category, the parameter is not checked in. So, it is throwing with error as “Error while checking and sorting”.
    So, In debugging , I set to checked in again and ran successfully.
    But, when I try to open the attached file in newly created document 2.  Getting error as could not be accessed.
    Adding one more point is that, the fiel might have been uploaded from application server earlier and they might have removed that file from the application server. So, i should not access this file again trough application server.
    Please suggest if I am doing anything wrong.
    Thanks,
    Prabu

    Hi Prabhu,
                     Obviously this FM checks the storage category and file location in database so if it does not exist it will give you an error so your above approach will be a correct approach.
    Check it like this
    ** Check in original 1 simultaneously in the SAP Database
    REFRESH lt_files.
    CLEAR lt_files.
    lt_files-storagecategory = 'SAP-SYSTEM'.
    lt_files-docfile      = 'c:\temp\drawing.txt'.
    lt_wsapplication = 'TXT'.
    APPEND lt_files.
    Thanks
