Opening an Oracle report in another window
I am calling Oracle Reports from HTMLDB, the report is called from a button press with a branch to a URL, a substitution string has been set up and single sign on is being used.
The url is:
&REPORTS_URL.module=&P2_REPORT_ID..rdf&ssoconn=devpmdb&destype=cache&P2_PARAMETER_LIST.&p_where=&P2_WHERE_CLAUSE.
My question is how can I open this in another window?
Thanks,
I have tried this by incorporating the javascript into the branch URL target:
javascript:popupURL(&REPORTS_URL.module=&P2_REPORT_ID..rdf&ssoconn=devpmdb&destype=cache&P2_PARAMETER_LIST.&p_where=&P2_WHERE_CLAUSE.)
The url does not work at all and redirects to the following page with an error indicating that no branch was found.
http://ukwar2dev4:7778/pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept
Can I actually supply this as a URL for a branch targer? And am I using the correct syntax? The url works fine without the popupURL call.

Oracle Report in New window with submit
Hello, I'm in urgent need of an example on how submit a page and open a Oracle Report in a new window. I've searched the forum and found similiar threads, but not exactly what I need. Basically, I have an html page with cascading LOVs in which the user can cascade down until they get to the report (oracle report) they will like to generate. I'm using Patrick's ApexLib for my cascading LOVs. The user can also pick a date range via a Date Picker. I need the page to submit so that paramters from the LOVs and Date Picker can be passed to the Oracle Report. The Oracle Report needs to open in a new window. Currently I'm using a button item using a branch which runs the report fine, but it comes up in the same page. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance for your help!
LouHi Lou,
you don't have to submit the page. If you have all the values on your page in HTML input fields you are fine. You would only submit it if you want to do some additional processing on the server to calculate values, ...
So just create a button with "Redirect URL without submitting page",
set "Target is a" to "URL" and use the following code in the "URL Target" property.
javascript:popupURL('http://your_oracle_report_url/regionid='+$x('P4_REGION_ID').value+'city='+$x('P4_CITY').value);The $x('some_page_item').value is used in JavaScript to reference the current value of an HTML field. Use the same identifier as you have used for your item in APEX.
Hope that helps
Patrick

Open "Navigate" enabled report in new window - OBI10g.
Hello Experts,
May be its novice user question, i have 2 reports, source and target reports. Both reports are connected using "Navigate" functionality.
Issue is, i wan to open the target report in new window? is that possible?
using GO URL: we have an option like target='_blank'. but in navigate.. what is the option?
Thanks in advance....
Regards,
KiranThe Navigate feature can be modified to open targets in a new window by following the below steps:
- Edit OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\b_mozilla\viewhelper.js
- Search for function NavigateInfo()
- Find the line with code this.sWindowTarget = "_self";
- Replace the line as this.sWindowTarget = "_blank";
- Clear the browser cache and reload the page.
The navigation targets will now open in a new window. -
How to Open an Oracle Report From a JSF Page
Hi there,
I would be really grateful if anyone would find me a solution to the following scenario:
In my company, we have a project where we have to convert Oracle Forms and Reports to Java Web Application. The conversion of forms is being done thourgh JSF/ADF technology but how can i open an Oracle Report from a JSF page after supplying it with parameters ? Or i have to do some type of conversion before ?
Once again i would be thankfull for your replies.Tapash,
Thanks for reponding.
Here is the URL I am currently using :
https://gccss.glendale.edu:8001/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?server=rep60_crp3+userid=apps/pswd@crp3+report=/u07/oracle/crp3appl/gcccus/11.5.0/reports/US/GCC_ACCRUAL_BAL_0505.rdf+desformat=html+paramform=yes+destype=cache+p_accesscode=""
The p_accesscode is the parameter I need to pass to the Oracle report.
Currently, when I click the button, it invokes the above URL and takes me to the parameter form of the Oracle report and when I enter the Username, it runs the report and displays the desired output. But, what I need to achieve is, to pass the current user who has logged in behind the scene and to get rid of the parameter screen totally. Is this doable ? If yes, please help me !!!
Thanks

Open oracle report in new window from method
Hi,
I have a requirement to do some stuff in the view object, save changes, launch an oracle report 10g in a new window, and then navigate to a new page on a SINGLE button press.
I can get all this done using a command button to call may backing bean and a goButton to launch my report, but need to combine these into a single button.
My question is, is there any way to launch my new window and report from the backing bean?
Or is there some other way to accomplish these requirements?
this is a JSF/BC app, jdev 10.1.3.3
Thanks,
JimWhat if I have to do validation against the inputs that are used to dynamically generate the report url in the backing bean when clicking the "Button". I couldn't see there is a way for <af:goButton> to implement that. I think there should be some kind of action or listener in the backing where I can do the validation before I decide to open the new window for report.
I searched the forum and there is a post that will use a form to open the report window using target="_blank" in the form's attribute, but that works only if we don't have to validate the inputs.
I also tried to find a solution that will open a new windows in the backing bean by invoking a javascript, that javascript function will have the report url generated in the backing bean as the parameter. But so far, I couldn't find one with my ADF version 10.1.3.2.0. It looks like that in ADF 11, this approach might be feasible.
Any idea, hints? -

Install Oracle Developer Suite 10g on Windows 7 (64bit)
Recently, I got a task to install Oracle Developer Suite on Windows 7(64bit), but there seems lots of hassles to achieve this goal. There is a thread on Oracle forum on that topic. Here I log what I did to get it installed on my Windows 7(64bit) with 8G RAM.
extract the setup files (version 101202) downloaded from otn.
right click the install\setup.exe property, set compatibility to Windows XP SP2
edit the virtual memory size to custom size from 1024m to 8000m, restart it
run the install\setup.exe
Hope this helps.

How to run Oracle Report in new window
Hi,
There appear to be many threads regarding this issue, but so far I've been unable to piece together a solution to my problem.
My requirements are quite simple really.
- Invoke an Oracle Report from an HTMLDB page
- Pass parameters form the page to the report URL
- Run the report in a new window
I have created a simple example at:
http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=36506:1
Page 1 contains the following HTML Header attribute
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function callMyPopup (url){
w = open(url,"winLov","");
if (w.opener == null)
w.opener = self;
w.focus();
</script>
The URL i wish to invoke is
http://myappserver/reports/rwservlet?test/test@test+report=test.rdf+&P1_PARAMETER.
My question is, where would I put the code to invoke the URL? I'm trying to use the following code
javascript:callMyPopup('http://myappserver/reports/rwservlet?test/test@test+report=test.rdf+&P1_PARAMETER.');
I've tried putting this in a branch but I get a 'Page can not be displayed' error.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
AndrewHi,
I'm trying to invoke an oracle report through a button in apex2.2. Please let me know how to display the report in a new window.
I have put the URL as of now in the branch of the button, and the report is getting displayed in the same window.
I've read some of the posts and put the URL as the target of the button instead of a branch and also used the javascript:popupURL(), but it still doesnt work for me. The URL works fine without the javascript.
I have put the URL as of now in the branch of the button, and the report is getting displayed in the same window.
Thanks in advance,

Error while calling oracle reports from another report
Hello everyone,
I have a problem running oracle reports. In one report I have a button
that calls another report. There is a button for each row of the result
in the first report , and i have used Srw.run_report to call the second
report.
My problem is, when I run the report, at the first time i can push the
button and the second report opens and works correctly. But if i close
the second report and come back to the first one, when i push the
button for a different row ,the second report starts to run but then I
get some oracle errors like table does not exist or... while the first
time the report worked correctly.
It seems that when i close the second report and go back to the first
one, sth happens that changes my session or connection. I don't know
what can be the problem.
By the way, when I log in with the user that owns the tables and has
all the privileges, I don't get this problem. It only occurs when I
use other users ( which have all privileges on all of the tables
needed in the report )
I am using Report Builder 6.0.5 and the DB is Oracle Database 10g.
Can anyone please help me with this problem?
Thanx in Advance.
Maryam.6.0.5 is not certified against 10g database, so I suggest to upgrade to 6.0.8.26 (6i patch 17) first to see if the problem is gone.

Thanks.Hi,
The view itself is a Web Part called an XSLT List View Web Part (XLV for short). This Web Part is stored on an ASPX page that is by default associated with a list or library on your site.
I suggest you can check if the view page is valid, also, you can try to create another view, then redirect to the view page to see if there is xslt in the page.
