Opening From PDF in workspace
Hi,
Currently I encounter a problem to open my pdf files in my workspace.
I deployed the same application on another dev server and it works nicely.
I get the following error.

The idea Jasmin gave me worked fine - I can now use the Approve/Rejct buttons in Workspace when the form is open.

Can't adjust curves in file opened from pdf
I need to include several pages of pdfs in a book. The pdfs are scanned text documents, image only, with no security applied. When I open the pdf on my mac pro with photoshop cs6, I can make adjustments in the curves dialog, but when I close the dialog the adjustments disappear. The history pallette shows the action, but nothing happened. Also can make visible changes in a curves adjustment layer, but when I flatten the image the changes disappear. I've tried opening the pdf as grayscale, rgb, and cmyk; same result. I've also saved it in several different formats, then reopened it; same result. The file initially opens as a background layer with a locked symbol in the layers pallette. If I duplicate the layer and delete the background, the locked symbol disappears, but photoshop still won't accept changes made in the curves dialog. I tried it with cs4, and had a friend try the same things with on a pc; same result. Levels adjustment won't work, either. Can anyone tell me what's going on here?

After realizing why curves wouldn't work on this document, I figured out what led me astray in the first place: when I went to open the pdf page in photoshop, photoshop's import pdf dialog didn't give me the option of opening as a bitmap. The only mode choices are grayscale, rgb, cmyk, and lab.

I have a process in which I submit (copy) an entire PDF file with digital signature to a watched folder and this kicks of the process.
Now as the first step I would like to present the PDF for the user in a task assignment. The PDF opens fine but nothing happens when I click the buttons Accept/Reject buttons in WS. How can I fix this problem

Open Photoshop image from PDF into Photoshop and change cmyk text to 100% black
when I have a supplied PDF file that has cmyk text, I open the image in Photoshop but I don't know how to change the cmyk text (some very small and some large) to 100% Black. I used to know the short cut key to do this but I can't remember. I used to use the marque tool then use a short cut key that would knock the cmy out of the k. Can some one please tell me how I can achieve this in a flattened photoshop file opened from PDF into Photoshop. Thanks
One way to do this:
Use a hue/saturation adjustment layer, click the Colorize box and drag the Lightness slider to -100. The black will go to C:0, M:0 Y:0, K:100. I'm not aware of a shortcut for this, perhaps someone more informed could help there. You would only want to apply it to the text, clipped to a separate text layer ideally, but if your file is already flattened you could apply it via a selection/masking.

When I open a pdf document from my dropbox to view it, the document appears blank, even though I know the information is actually there. This also has happened with pdf documents that have been e-mailed to me, then opened to view and they are blank?? Why are they showing up blank?
When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that. Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?
It's like once they go into iBooks they're stuck forever. -
When I attempt to open a PDF file I saved from a website using Safari, I get the message "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." When I save the same PDF file using FireFox it opens up immediately. Is there any way to correct this problem with Safari?
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
Opening a PDF in a specific page from a PDF created in indesign
Hello, I'm working with CS4 and I need you to click on a button, or from a "hyperlink" in a text, open a pdf file but for a given page.
I can not change the target pdf and also I have to access a single pdf into multiple pages, put an example
persone one speaks at the pdf 1, on page 14
person two speaking in pdf 1, on page 15
I wish that when you click on the person 1 opens pdf 1 on page 14, and when you click on the person 2 opens pdf 1 on page 15

ohhh, no, the page references are to an indesign document, not a PDF
I have not indesign files where you created the PDF to which I have to jump and I can not add bookmarks to pdf, pdf files are protected.

I cannot open a pdf file with aol e-mail. I went to preferences in Adobe Reader but did not know what to enter for Incoming IMAP and outgoing SMTP. I can open pdf files from windows explorer as I have associated .pdf files with adobe reader. My operating system is windows 7.
When I try to open the pdf file within aol e-mail I get a message: 'Your security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded'. I have not changed my security settings (Tools, Internet Options, security).Or http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

Open a pdf file located on Application Server from forms 10g

I want to open a pdf file which is stored in a folder on Application Server.
I have the following codes but could not be able to open the file.
1. host('rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler C:\REP012.pdf');
in this code I mentioned the path on local machine which is okey.
but the question is that how to open the file which is located in a folder on application server?
the following code don't show and file or error:
host('rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler /EMS/MANUALS/ACC001.PDF');
This is the file on Application Server not on local machine.
2. web.show_document('//EMS/MANUALS/ACC001.PDF/','_blank');
This give HTTP 404 NOT FOUND error
I think the problem is in path, how to mention the path of my Application Server file?

We are running into the same problem where we need to open a file present on the application server (path /opt/webapps/applications/ISL/)
When we try this from the local machine it works (path D:/forms) however it does not work while trying to open it from the application server.

Unable to open large PDF file from the Attachment list.
Hi Gurus,
Users had attached 10 PDF file in the work order attachment list and his supervisor is trying to open the PDF file from the work order attachment list and he is able to open 9 PDF files without any issue, but 1 PDF file is giving the error message as "Database error for <GET DATA FROM KPRO>" and then select ok, we are getting the below message.
Window cannot find u201CC/Documents and Settings/b2m/SaoworkDir/5015851 Vendor data sheets B&P 2010 SDown XXX .PDFu2019. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click serch.
Looks like this particular file is not transferring to the SAP work directory.
Could you please check and suggest us as to how to fix it.

We verified your OSS notes it's not relevant to us Because our issue is while opening the PDF aatchement it is not transferring to my SAP Work Directory because of that reason we are getting the KPRO error. When I'm opening the other PDF files it's transferring to my SAP Work Directory and it's automatically open without any issue.

how can i open a PDF bank statement in "numbers" so that the rows and columns contain properly aligned data from statement?
Numbers can store pdfs pages or clippings but does not directly open pdf files. To get the bank statement into Numbers as a table I would open the bank statment in Preview (or Skim) or some pdf viewer.
Then hold the option key while selecting a column of data.
Then copy
Then switch to numbers and paste the column into a table
Then repeat for the other columns in the pdf document
It would be easier (in my opinion) to download the QFX or CSV version from your bank -
Open Multiple PDF files from Production order/Routing

We are in ECC 6.0 environment. We have a scenario where multiple documents were attached to single operation and also at multiple operations. But when I was trying to open these PDF documents, only the last file was getting opened and closing the previous file. How can I open multiple PDF files at one time from Production order or Routing?
Any help is appreciated.

from DMS standard I regret but such a functionality is not available. In the standard originals can be opened only one after another.
I think for realising this functionality an individual modificatoin is necessary.

On my iPad, I'm trying to open a PDF from Safari with iBooks, but when I choose "Open with ..." in Safari, only Pages and Dropbox show as options. I'm running iOS 7.1.2 and iBooks 3.2. I have rebooted the iPad and that did not help, and reinstalled iBooks, which also changed nothing. Thanks for any ideas!
Yup, it was uploaded to our school Wiki as a PDF, and Pages did open it. I was then able to move it to iBooks, but I'd rather avoid the extra steps.

I cannot open a pdf document from a website
I am using Int Explorer and have Reader 9.1 installed. When I try to open a pdf doc I get a box which has Adobe Reader top left and blue question mark and an OK box. When I click OK nothing happens. I have tried the various suggestions from knowledge base including making sure Reader was enabled but to no avail. It does not happen all the time as I have been able to view pdf pages from a manufacturers on line catalogue. Any ideas??

That could be the problem; attachments often get damaged during the transport.
Can you ask the sender of these documents to upload one of them to a file sharing server (SendNow, Dropbox, Google Drive, ...), and see if you can get the document undamaged? -
Open link (PDF) in new window from WebHelp custom skin button
This question relates to my work with FM>RH integration. But the task I'm trying to accomplish is something specifically done in RH with customization of WebHelp skins, so I'm posting in this forum. I'm running RH9 on Windows XP Pro.
We have recently replaced WebWorks with RH and finally have the mapping files set up to generate Help from our FM source files. Celebration was short, because then we realized that our users wanted a PDF option. We haven't done any mapping to create PDFs from RH, and that seems kind of silly anyway, since we have superior PDF generation from the FM files.
So I set about making a custom button in the header of a WebHelp skin that will link to a PDF. I accomplshed that work, but its behavior falls short of the functionality I'd like to see. Currently, you click on the button and it opens the PDF in the browser window of the Help system. I want it to open in a new window, so I can keep the experience clean for the users, separating Help and PDF. I don't know if this is possible.
Here is where I am at. To create button I navigated to:
Project Set-up/Skins/NEW SKIN/WebHelp Skin Editor/ Main/NEW BUTTON
When I choose the edit icon to customize the new button, there is an option to choose Link or JavaScript. I got the PDF to open inside the Help browser by just using the Link option and specifying the PDF. I have tried to use the JavaScript option without success. My JS may be wrong, but when I choose inline JS option and place anything there, it turns all the navigation buttons to gobbledy ****. Specifying an external JS file doesn't work at all.
Any direction or help would be appreciated.

DouglasI see one other shortcoming with this solution now that I've implemented it. Our Help follows the applictions through a convoluted path of development servers, amongst other strangeness with the way we deploy Help and PDF documentation. My concern is referencing a single URL/file on a server. Since we're moving things around, that doesn't really work well, we want the PDF to be with the Help system, if possible. Is there a way to reference the PDF as a relative link in the baggage files, so it will pull it from whatever server the Help system resides on without having to make changes?
UPDATE:
It seems if you place the PDF in the WebHelp folder and reference it as the JavaScript, the Help system automatically reats it as root folder and find it there. So, I think this is the solution to my question? However, this is a bit annoying, as it means you have to remember to manually place the file in the compiled Help system. I had earlier experimented with placing the PDF as a baggage file, but those don't seem to carry over when you compile Help. Is there any way to put the PDF in the Baggage Files and designate that it be included in compiled Help?
