Optional package feature supported

Do you support the optional package features? If yes , how?

Hi Amol,
WebLogic jDriver for Oracle fully supports the JDBC 2.0 Optional Package API for
distributed transactions.

  • Optional Package - startup behavior

    Hi guys,
Hi have an optional package (similar to a shared library) that is referenced by two different applications. This optional package is a jar file.
When I 've a web application (WAR) I know that WebLogic will use the exploded directory in .../tmp/_WL_user to load the application, but which is the behavior when i'm using a jar file?
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to redeploy Optional Package(J2EELibrary)without versioning?

Currently, I decided to use Optional Package feature for one of our common shared jar file as it is referenced by our multiple applications (ear files). I can understand, how I can deploy multiple version of the optional package in order for the referencing application to use it. I am planning to use this version feature for optional package in our Production Environment. However, my issue is I don't want to use this version feature in our development environment as it involves more work for the developers (overhead on the developers to specify the optional package version in their referencing application). Is there any way I can redeploy optional package in development environment? I can only redeploy only after undeploying all my 6 referencing applications, which is taking more time.

Does any one have an example to implement Optional Package and versioning it?

  • JSR 75 - PDA Optional Packages

    Hi, folks!
I'm using J2ME Wireless Toolkit for build and package PALM applications and I would like to use PDA Optional Packages (access to PALM File System and PIM - Personal Information Manager), but IBM Virtual Machine does not have HSR 75 on its library.
    Anyone can help me?

The latest release of WSDD 5.7 (available here http://www-306.ibm.com/software/wireless/weme/) and of the Palm MIDP 2.0 JVM can be augmented with either or both JSR-075 optional packages.
These additions are available as Install/Update features in WSDD. In the Install/Update perspective choose Sites To Visit -> IBM WebSphere Everyplace Device Developer Technologies -> Technologies -> WEME PalmOS 5.0 ARM / IA32 PDAP-FC or PIM. These will each have a .prc which will overlay the existing VM to allow support for the respective optional package.
For more information about these API's see both presentations given first at JavaOne 2003 and recently at JavaOne 2004 (now requires a subscription I think):

Only creative cloud subscribers get the new features. If you were a Cloud subscriber your version would be 16.4.0 not 16.0.4.

It is an orphan that will be removed from EMC is a future update. The feature itself has been removed from 2010, you can no longer access SharePoint or file servers through OWA. There is still "direct file" access in OWA, but in the spirit of being able to directly open an attachment without being forced to use the web viewer.Brian Day, Overall Exchange & AD Geek

  • Optional package

How can I add optional package (example the MMAPI) for a phone that does not implement it natively?
    is it possible?
Example we have a P900 that does not support MMAPI for video... is it possible to extend its possibilities?
    Many thanks
    Greg

(oops, error in previous post... wrong tag...)
    Hi Greg,
In theory this would be possible, yes... However, this might be a lot of work because you will have to develop it in Java (as you cannot use a native language like C, there's no public native interface). This means that you will need to write things like playing back a video (from a stream), etc etc... All in Java; with its limitations. Sound playback (probably?) can be covered by the MMAPI (so you might need to extend a few pieces from MMAPI and use that within your Java Video MMAPI).

  • Use of Optional Packages

    Hello,
I would like to know if there is any way to include in my application an optional package just in case the device does not have it in its Runtime Environment.
What I was thinking is more like including all the classes from a jar file (e.g j2me-ws.jar JSR172) in my application's jar file.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

    Hi there,
The reason it did not work is because it failed to decode doubles. But once I replaced the doubles in my WS with Strings everything went smoothly.
Note: I was using CLDC1.1 so doubles should have been supported(The WTK emulators worked just fine, but the Nokia and Sony Ericsson emulators didn't).
SO for everybody out there: try not to use doubles in your WS for the moment :) (WTK 2.2)
    Cheers, Nick

  • Optional packages

    hi,
i'm new in J2me, and trying to understand which phone supports what.
    Are these apis and supports:
    * Mobile Media API for J2ME
    * Wireless Messaging API
    * Support for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) in the WMA console
    * Simulated Bluetooth environment for JSR 82 support
    * Network monitor support for MMS and Bluetooth
installable or located in phones like midp apis?
if they are installable, why can't i find any instructions?
if they are not installable why do we call them optional packages?

They are not installable. They are optional because a phone doesn't necessarilly need to have them in order to be MIDP compliant. You have to check each device's specifications to see which of these APIs it supports.

  • Object Relational Features supported??

We want to hide our relational datamodel from our application by usage of object views. Our .Net applcation should communicate with the database just handling objects.
How well are object relational features supported in ODP.Net? Can object relational features be better exploited via oo4o? Is this a feasible solution at all?
    Thanks for input,
    Stephan

Ok. But as you know there are few thirdy party vendors that offer object-realtional mapping products for C#.Net applications. But all of them are not only for just one DB f.e:Oracle, but for many f.e;Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre SQL etc. BUt in my opinion it is not good solution for enterprise applications. Because if you plan to use Oracle DB, so your mapping tool must support most of Oracle features. F.e: mapping packages, using sequences.
Dear Mark William. Have you ever used such product regarding C#.Net Windows Forms and Oracle10G? Could you possibly give me advice about it? What can be achieved from applying mapping product instead of using only relational data at .NET dataset level?
I mean object-oriented application with relational data vs not object-oriented application with relational data.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Jeode and CDC RMI optional package?

Does anybody know if Jeode implements the RMI optional package specification for J2ME Personal Profile 1.0? If they don't, is there any alternative to Jeode that does? Also, have they implemented the JDBC optional package?

WSDD contains a beta version of the RMI optional package with the certified one awaiting submission to the web updates (Eclipse way for getting new features).
The JDBC optional package (JSR-169) has not submitted a final spec, RI or TCK and therefore IBM cannot provide an implementation. Once a TCK is available there will likely be and implementation and a driver from the DB2 group.

  • Weblogic optional package deployment issue

    Hi All,
I am using WLS 10.3.4. I have an J2EE web application which references a JAR library as an optional package. Here is my definition of JAR file in the library MANIFEST.MF,
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Extension-Name: PCGCommon2.0
    Specification-Version: 1.0.0.0
    Implementation-Version: common055jkp
Here is my definition of JAR file reference in the application MANIFEST.MF,
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Extension-List: pcgcommon2
    pcgcommon2-Extension-Name: PCGCommon2.0
    pcgcommon2-Specification-Version: 1.0.0.0
    pcgcommon2-Implementation-Version: common055jkp
I deployed the JAR library first successfully. Then I tried to deploy the application. It throws me this error as follows,
    +[J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved Optional Package references (in META-INF/MANIFEST.MF): [Extension-Name: PCGCommon2.0, Specification-Version: 1, Implementation-Version: common055jkp , referenced from: /opt/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/Pinellas1qDomain/servers/Pinellas1qMS3/tmp/_WL_user/ppa/cwbd0p/war].+
Can anyone have an idea what I am missing here?

    Hi John,
Please find the working TestCase in the following Location:
    http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=231#comment-3144
I am copying and pasting the README.txt file here which i attached in the TestCase:
    README.txt
Step1). Make Sure that the Hello.java is compiled properly like following:
    javac -d . Hello.java<font color=red>Actual Trick is Making the JAR using 'M' option..... :) </font><br>
Step2). The Most important step to Make the "HelloWorld.jar" along with the MANIFEST.MF file which is present inside "HelloWorld\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF"
Use the below command with *'M'* as a Flag while making JAR file so that the Jar utility will not overrite the MANIFEST.MF on it's own rather it will place our own MANIFEST.MF inside the Jar.
    C:\OptionalPackageDemo\HelloWorld\> jar -cvfM  HelloWorld.jar META-INF\MANIFEST.MF Hello.java com
Step3). Deploy the HelloWorld.jar and the TestWebApp
<b><font color=red>NOTE: </font></b> I just now tested the attached TestCase in WLS10.3.0 And it perfectly worked for me. So if it's not working for you in WLS10.3.4 then i would request you to please open a Support Ticket with Oracle WebLogic Support Team because ideally the same test case is supposed to work fine in that version as well.

  • RMI Optional Package

    Hi,
I'm trying to write up a small application on a Pocket PC that uses RMI to connect to a server. I have installed J9 with full CDC support on the pda. I was under the impression that the personal profile it supported also bundled the optional RMI package but after looking at the classes i had available to me i soon relised that i had next to nothing in my java.rmi and java.rmi.registry packages. Mainly I had no java.rmi.Naming class for lookups on the client.
Is anyone able to clarify whether the optional RMI package is cut down so that you need to develop your client app different to usual (I.e. not use Naming.lookup(url) to locate remote objects) OR if the regular java.rmi.Naming classes should come in the RMI OP and therefore i most likely do not have the RMI Optional Package included with my J9 runtime? If the later is so, where can i get a RMI OP from, sun's one seems to be for linux kernel 2.2 +.
    My WebSphere version is 5.7.1
    Cheers.
    Walt.
ps. If the RMI OP is cut down so much that it doesn't use the Naming class to look up the registry for remote objects, how is it supposed to be done?

Thanks, I managed to include the RMIOP jar. I have a problem, though: when I build and run using the ive-2.2 JRE it works fine with the RMI connection, however when I build for the PDA (an HP iPAQ hx4700) it says "Exception in thread main java.lang.SecurityException: java.rmi.Naming - protected system package 'java.rmi'
In other words in only works with the local JRE, but not with the PDA JRE. I did embed the RMIOP classes in the build, so the problem is not here. Any ideas of why it would give that error? Thanks in advance.

  • What are the features supported in Cisco Prime Infrastructure for WLAN for autonomous AP's?

What are the features supported in Cisco Prime Infrastructure for WLAN for autonomous AP’s?

    • PI provides visibility for autonomous  clients within the same list view as lightweight and wired clients (client list  page).
    • Rogue AP detection for autonomous AP's is not supported (it's  supported in CUWN).
    • Alarms/events for client authentication issues (e.g.  authentication failure) are displayed in PI.
    • Config management for  autonomous AP's is via CLI template.  Config comparison and archiving  functionality in PI leverages these same features that were brought in from LMS,  so need to defer to others in terms of whether this is a cross-platform feature  in PI or is only supported on a subset of platforms.  Config comparison/archive  is supported in CUWN.PI supports both infrastructure (e.g. AP Tx Power and  Channel, busiest AP, AP utilization, etc.) and client (e.g. client count, client  sessions, etc.) reports, and there are extensive reports for CUWN
