ORA-01407: cannot update ("APEX_040000"."WWV_FLOW_PLUGIN_FILES"."MIME_TYPE)

Hi,
I am getting the following error message when I tried to upload .js file (Plugin creation).
ORA-01407: cannot update ("APEX_040000"."WWV_FLOW_PLUGIN_FILES"."MIME_TYPE") to NULL
Unable to process row of table WWV_FLOW_PLUGIN_FILES.

Hi Michelle,
can you please report that in the APEX Listener forum ORDS, SODA & JSON in the Database with your exact version number of the APEX Listener you are using.
Thanks!

  • Java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01407: cannot update ("WAVESET", "TASK", "XML")

    Hi,
    We are currently facing the above mentioned error while trying to install Sun IdM 7.1 in WebSphere 6.0. The same ear works fine in all my other environments (all are WebSphere 5). This is what we did
    1. Took a copy of the ear thats works.
    2. Extract.
    3. Modified the serverrepository.xml by using the lh command. Use the newly generated xml file in the extracted folder (WEB-INF), Pack it to a new EAR
    4. Configure the datasource that will be used to communicate with the Index repository.
    5. Deploy.
    Deployment completes successfully. However, when we try to run a task, or import file using IdM admin console, we get this error 'java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01407: cannot update ("WAVESET", "TASK", "XML") to NULL'. we even checked the user permissions on this db schema. they all look good.
    We also checked if we are using the right iiop port number in lh command.
    We arent sure what could be the issue. I am not able to simulate this issue in other environment, as they all turn out to be successful.
    any pointers?
    thanks.

    I still think it's a jdbc error.what is your DB platform?
    is you ServerRepository.xml configured with a jndi data source (and that's why you use iiop)? If so then try to create a new connection through a direct DB URL like:
    lh setRepo -tDBTYPE -uURL -Uusername -Ppassword -n -oServerRepository.xml
    and then try to re-run your update command. if it fails again then please post the complete error message.. hope this helps

  • ORA-01407: cannot update (string) to NULL

    I've read that one way to avoid ORA-01407 error like in this example ( [DBA-ORACLE.COM SITE|http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_ora_01407_cannot_update_string_to_null.htm] ) is to use additional EXISTS in where condition:
    update ORDERS ord
      set ord.amount = ( select ord.qty * it.item_price
                         from ITEM it
                         where ord.item_id = it.item_id )
    where exists ( select 1
                   from ITEM it
                   where ord.item_id = it.item_id );Execution plan confirms that those similar correlated subqueries are evaluated twice when I substitute 1 with select ord.qty * it.item_price to make them identical. what will happen if between those two evaluations for particular item_id if some commited update/delete happens on ITEM table causing row removal/values change for item_id? How will it influence the UPDATe? will there be any errors etc?
    thank you

If you begin the statement at 10:00, but the EXISTS sub-query is executed at 10:02, it will see data that other sessions deleted at 10:01, and it will not see data that other sessions inserted at 10:01.
    Apiminov made a good point: MERGE is simpler to code and more efficient to run

  • ORA-01407 with UPDATE using COALESCE function

    Hi
    We're trying to run the following query as part of an upgrade:
    UPDATE LAWSON.NATBALANCE
    SET STATEMENT_REQ=(SELECT COALESCE(acm.STATEMENT_REQ,' ')
    FROM LAWSON.ARCUSTOMER acm
    WHERE acm.NAT_FLAG='N'
    AND LAWSON.NATBALANCE.NAT_COMPANY=acm.COMPANY AND
    LAWSON.NATBALANCE.NAT_CUSTOMER=acm.CUSTOMER)
    But we're getting the following error:
    ORA-01407: cannot update ("LAWSON"."NATBALANCE"."STATEMENT_REQ") to null.
    I’m confused by this for a couple of reasons. First, the STATEMENT_REQ field in LAWSON.ARCUSTOMER contains no NULLS, and second I thought the whole purpose of the COALESCE function was to return the first non-null result. What am I missing here?
    Edited by: ltzwoman on Dec 4, 2012 10:48 AM

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
    Instead of UPDATE, you might prefer to do this with MERGE:
    MERGE INTO  lawson.netbalance     dst
    USING   (
             SELECT  company
             ,         customer
             ,         COALESCE ( statement_req
                        ) AS statement_req_not_null
             FROM    lawson.arcustomer
         )               src
    ON     (   src.company          = dst.nat_company
         AND src.customer     = dst.customer
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    SET     dst.statement_req     = src.statement_req_not_null
    WHERE     dst.statement_req      != src.statement_req_not_null
    ;You may find this easier to debug and maintain, since in an UPDATE statement, such as the one suggested by Solomon, the sub-query in the SET clause has to be repeated in the WHERE clause.
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
    If you're asking about a DML statement, such as UPDATE, the sample data will be the contents of the table(s) before the DML, and the results will be state of the changed table(s) when everything is finished.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).

  • ORA-01407 when removing a CMP Entity Bean with WLS 9.1

    Hi all !
    I hope you can help me to solve this ?:|
    I'm migrating my application from WLS 8.1 SP3 to WLS 9.1.
    I'm getting now an SQLException when I try to remove a CMP Entity Bean.
    The stacktrace is as follows:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01407: cannot update ("USER"."MY_TABLE"."THE_CMR_FIELD") to NULL
         at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:145)

    Of course, I replaced the table and column names above to be more readable ;-)
    The table MY_TABLE has a CMR field called THE_CMR_FIELD. The column is not nullable in the database (by the way, it's an Oracle 9i).
    Everything is fine under WLS8.1
    I tried two different Oracle JDBC drivers (9.2.0.5 and 10.2.0.1.0), but the result is always the same within WLS9.1.
    Any ideas or suggestions (or even questions) are more than welcome!
    Thanks
    Eric

    What's even more weird is that I have what seams to be the same problem on Weblogic 6.1 (SP4).

    In fact I have this setup:
    <pre>
    workpattern 1..n workpatternday -| 1..n dayperiod
    | 1..n daycoreperiod
    </pre>
    And before 'ejbRemove'ing the workpattern I first remove the days and before that the periods and core periods.
    I start with the periods and instead of removing them in the DB he tries to update the FK to the day with '' (p6spy result).
    When I remove the not null constraint on the foreign key everything passes to the day where the workpatternId cannot be set to null.
    He does not throw errors on the coreperiod (where the not null constraint to day is still present).
    When I invert the sequence of deleting
    (first the core periods then the 'regular' periods) he complains about the dayId on the core periods table.
    So it's completely absurd :S
    I hope weblogic 8.1 might solve this problem as this development code is still to be migrated to 8.1 before going in production...
    I would just like to know what's wrong. There are other places with just about the same relationships (CMR and DB) where he does not complain...

  • Remove privately owned object: SQLException: cannot update ... to NULL

    I have a toplink descriptor called ToplinkRelationshipInfo which has a one-to-many mapping to a descriptor called ToplinkRelationshipAttribute. The mapping is privately owned and uses a foreign key from ToplinkRelationshipAttribute.info_id -> ToplinkRelationshipInfo.id. The ToplinkRelationshipAttribute has a one-to-one mapping back to the ToplinkRelationshipInfo.
    The toplink generated Java source for ToplinkRelationshipInfo has a removeFromAttributes method:
    public void removeFromAttributes(ToplinkRelationshipAttribute aToplinkRelationshipAttribute) {
         this.attributes.remove(aToplinkRelationshipAttribute);
         aToplinkRelationshipAttribute.setRelationshipInfo(null);
    }When deleting/removing one of these attributes, if I simply call the above method and then call commit on the unit of work I get a SQLException:
    Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01407: cannot update ("WC"."WP_RELATIONSHIP_INFO_ATT"."RELATIONSHIP_INFO_ID") to NULL
    I understand that the reason for this is because the removeFromAttributes method is setting the attribute relationshipInfo member to null, which is causing an UPDATE on the attribute record with null on the required relationshipInfoId.
    As suggested in another thread I removed the line that sets the relationshipInfo member to null and I no longer get the exception.
    For maintenance reasons I'd prefer to modify as little generated toplink code as necessary, so I'd rather not have to modify the remove method; otherwise I'll have to go through and modify all these types of methods anytime I generate new Java source.
    So, how come toplink is generating the code that nulls these member variables if they have to be taken out later?
    Is there a way to configure the workbench project so that it does not generate this code, or is it necessary to modify these methods each time I generate the Java source?
    Thanks.

    In a 1-m mapping the relationship is stored in the database by the foreign key of the 1-1 (m-1) back reference. In a typical 1-m relationship if you just remove the object from the collection it will not update the database unless you also set the 1-1 back to null, (as it will still be referencing the old source and the relationship will be out of synch).
    In your case because the 1-m is privately owned and the target will be deleted, it does not need to have the 1-1 updated, so you are correct in removing the code.
    In have logged an enhancement request internally with the MW to have this code improved for private-owned 1-m relationships.
    In general the source code generation of the TopLink Mapping Workbench (or JDeveloper) is meant as a one-time generation for rapid prototyping, it is not required, and not two-way. Typically the object model will be used to provide application specific behavior, so will be maintained by hand after the initial prototype.

    Experts,
    I am getting "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-02014: cannot select FOR UPDATE from view with DISTINCT, GROUP BY, etc" exception and it leads to one or more setter methods of the VO. I checked the respective attribute in the VO to see if it refers to any LOV with sql having Distinct or group by clause, but it is a normal attribute.
    Any idea how do i resolve this error ?

  • Problem in updating fa_additions SQL Error: ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table

    Hi,
    After using sql loader to import informations in the table fa_mass_additions and after the functionnal uses a treatment to imputate this assets, it asks me to do an update on the table fa_additions to change the value of attribute1 but i get an error
    Error report:
    ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table
    ORA-06512: at line 11
    01779. 00000 -  "cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table"
    *Cause:    An attempt was made to insert or update columns of a join view which
               map to a non-key-preserved table.
    *Action:   Modify the underlying base tables directly.
    please how can i do this update?

    Hi,
    The "fa_additions" is a view, not a table.
    You should update the base table "fa_additions_b".
    Regards,
    Bashar

  • Tabular form on a view :ORA-01446: cannot select ROWID from, or sample...

    Hi,
    I have two tables
    CUSTOMERS
    ===========
    Name Null Type
    ======================
    CUST_UID NOT NULL NUMBER(4)
    CUST_NAME VARCHAR2(50)
    ITEM_PRICES
    ===========
    Name Null Type
    ======================
    IP_UID NOT NULL NUMBER(4)
    IP_ITEM_DESC VARCHAR2(50
    IP_COST_PRICE NUMBER(6,2)
    IP_SELL_PRICE NUMBER(6,2)
    I have a view IPS_VW which is the cartician product of CUSTOMERS and ITEM_PRICES, and an instead of trigger for UPDATE on this view which either inserts or updates data in the following third table
    ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL
    ===========
    Name Null Type
    ======================
    IPS_UID NOT NULL NUMBER(4)
    CUST_UID NUMBER(4)
    IP_UID NUMBER(4)
    IPS_SELL_PRICE NUMBER(6,2)
    The following is my view
    SELECT 'A'||ROWNUM AS "IPSVW_UID",
    0 AS "IPSVW_IPS_UID",
    "CUSTOMERS"."CUST_UID" AS "IPSVW_CUST_UID",
    "ITEM_PRICES"."IP_UID" AS "IPSVW_IP_UID",
    "ITEM_PRICES"."IP_SELL_PRICE" AS "IPSVW_IPS_SELL_PRICE"
    FROM "CUSTOMERS" "CUSTOMERS",
    "ITEM_PRICES" "ITEM_PRICES"
    WHERE NOT EXISTS
    (SELECT 1
    FROM "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL" "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"
    WHERE "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"."IP_UID" ="ITEM_PRICES"."IP_UID"
    AND "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"."CUST_UID" ="CUSTOMERS"."CUST_UID"
    UNION
    SELECT 'B' ||ROWNUM AS "IPSVW_UID",
    "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"."IPS_UID" AS "IPSVW_IPS_UID",
    "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"."CUST_UID" AS "IPSVW_CUST_UID",
    "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"."IP_UID" AS "IPSVW_IP_UID",
    "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL"."IPS_SELL_PRICE" AS "IPSVW_IPS_SELL_PRICE"
    FROM "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL" "ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL";
    And this is the instead of trigger
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "TRG_IPSVW_UPDATE" INSTEAD OF
    UPDATE ON IPS_VW REFERENCING NEW AS N FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    IF :N.IPSVW_IPS_UID = 0 THEN
    INSERT INTO ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL
    ( CUST_UID, IP_UID,IPS_SELL_PRICE )
    VALUES
    ( :N.IPSVW_CUST_UID,:N.IPSVW_IP_UID, :N.IPSVW_IPS_SELL_PRICE );
    ELSE
    UPDATE ITEM_PRICES_SPECIAL
    SET IPS_SELL_PRICE = :N.IPSVW_IPS_SELL_PRICE
    WHERE IPS_UID = :N.IPSVW_IPS_UID;
    END IF;
    END;
    Everything works fine in SQLPLUS, if i update a rate in this view, a record is either inserted or updated in the third table.
    But when i try to create a tabular form based on this view, i get the error
    ORA-01446: cannot select ROWID from, or sample, a view with DISTINCT, GROUP BY, etc.
    Could someone help me please?
    Thanks,
    Allen

    I think The tabular form needs to be able to identify some primary key and using a rownum concatenation cannot provide that.
    Cheers
    Kofi

  • ORA-01776: cannot modify more than one base table through a join view

    I have created EO based on a database view than consists of two tables, and only one is updateable.
    When I try to update a row using EO, I got a following message: "ORA-01776-cannot modify more than one base table through a join view"
    In Forms, this issue is resolved by setting "Query Only" property of non-updateable items to "True".
    Is it possible to do something like that in ADF BC?
    Thanks

    Thanks for answer.
    When I set "updateable" property to "Never", that attribute is protected from any change.
    I'm sorry for incomplete usecase.
    I have set up a list of value on that attribute, because it is a lookup field for another table and I need to get an ID from that table.
    Basically, I need that attribute to be updateble for BC, but not for database.

  • Error ORA-01779 while updating view

    I am using oracle 9i version is 9.2.0.1.0, While updating i am getting error,which i mention below.
    ORA-01779:cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table
    In this view there is no any group function.
    Help me please.

    ORA-01779:
         cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table

  • ORA-24335 - cannot support more than 1000 columns - How to solve this?

    Hi,
    I got error message 'ORA-24335 - cannot support more than 1000 columns ' when i try to insert x no of rows for a table with following code:
    INSERT ALL
    INTO tableA Values ('A', 'B', 'C', 1, 2, 3)
    INTO tableA Values ('D', 'E', 'F', 4, 5, 6)
    INTO tableA Values ('G', 'H', 'I', 7, 8, 9)
    SELECT *
    FROM DUAL
    How to solve above?
    What does it really mean? It's not as easy as if my table has 10 columns than I can't insert more than 100 rows (1000 columns divided with 10 columns = maximun 100 rows to insert), or?
    Is there a better/more appropriate way to do insert many rows?
    Should I do my inserts with an OracleTransaction (My application is developed with C# and asp.net), as ~follows
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO tableA Values ('A', 'B', 'C', 1, 2, 3)
    INSERT INTO tableA Values ('D', 'E', 'F', 4, 5, 6)
    INSERT INTO tableA Values ('G', 'H', 'I', 7, 8, 9)
    COMMIT
    END
    Thx in advance!

    Hi,
    So how did you solve the problem? Can you please give an example?
    I have the same problem inserting over 1000 values into my Oracle DB. The table only has 51 columns but to speed up the insert command, I use bulk inserts via insert all command. I need to insert 100 rows at a time for a total of 5100 values.
    Example:
    SQLCmd = INSERT ALL INTO MYTABLE (VAL_ID,VAL_NAME,VAL_NUM,VAL_TIME,VAL_CMM,VAL_TIME1,VAL_TRIP,VAL_REMAINING,VAL_AGE,VAL_COUNT,VAL_RSTS,VAL_VOLT,VAL_RF,VAL_DC,VAL_HOPS,VAL_STATUS,VAL_ELAPSED,MODIFY_TIME) VALUES (?,?,?,TO_DATE(?,?),?,TO_DATE(?,?),?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,SYSTIMESTAMP)

    Then I call: &DBInsert($sqlCmd, @sqlVals);
    This is the error I get: ORA-24335: cannot support more than 1000 columns.
    I need to insert about 879,500 rows (51 cols per row). The values I read from a text file in sets of about 48,000 and put them into a hash. I tried inserting one row at a time, but it takes too long, about 28 hrs! Then, I tried the bulk update with only 6 rows and the total time was about 25 minutes. Which is acceptable to us.
    Thanks!

  • ODI-1228: ORA-22950: cannot ORDER objects without MAP or ORDER method

    Simple interface between two schemas in the same oracle database (10g)
    I am trying to copy one table and do one simple lookup (in a table located in 3rd schema on the same database)
    Integration task fails on
    ODI-1228: Task messagexml_document (Integration) fails on the target ORACLE connection S2_P1.
    Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-22950: cannot ORDER objects without MAP or ORDER method
    Can anybody tell me, what I am doing wrong? Code that generate this error is just a simple INSERT with SELECT and sub SELECT with JOIN?
    I just can't find anything about this error.
    I'm stuck :-(

    I discovered that one of my fields is an XMLType field and is a part of comparison ODI do when it tries to do incremental update. The error message here is just a message from db that it can't compare XMLType fields to each other.
    Is there any way to learn ODI to not to compare by XMLType field?

  • ORA-02047: cannot join the distributed transaction in progress

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to do COMMIT Transactions in BULK like 100 rows. I am doing update in Oracle and SQL Server both. Following statement update the SQL Server side:
    v_sqlstr :=
    'update JDETAIL set interfacedate = getdate() where company ='
    || v_company
    || ' and Recordnumber= '
    || TO_NUMBER (v_recordNumber)
    || ' COMMIT TRANSACTION';
    num_rows :=
    DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.execute_immediate@ex_test (v_sqlstr);
    After this I am calling Oracle Update Procedure . In Oracle UPDATE Procedure when I write AUTONOMOUS TRANSACTIONS AND Commit then it works fine BUT when I don't COMMIT which I don't want because I want to COMMIT in BATCHES then following error is thrown
    ORA-02047: cannot join the distributed transaction in progress
    Thanks

    you can't put the commit transaction into a pasthrough statement.
    Oracle Gateway starts the transaction, so you need to write the code in a way that allows the gateway to perform the commit. When doing a commit in a passhrough statement the gateway has no control over the committed data. Thus you get the error unless you start an autonomous transaction.
    Why do you need to call the update in a pasthrough statement? Why not in a PL/SQl code block with a counter that commits after 100 rows?
