When I insert record in my form Oracle database return error ORA-12663

Hi,
Did you use Forms ?
If yes, there is a reference bug 892342 which you can consult on Metalink.
The problem occurs when there is a large number of columns in the table (for example > 100).
This is logged as BUG:892342. Please upgrade to Oracle Forms release 6.0.8.10 (this is Developer Release 6i with the first patch applied).
Nicolas.

  • ORA-07445 on Xen RHEL5.4 guest on Itanium Montecito (BL870c/BL860c) host

I am wandering if anyone had any experience with similar issue - it most likely related to something about Oracle on RHEL5.4 Xen host on an Itanium (Montecito core, to be specific, as this proved to make important difference - HP BL870c and BL860c servers). I didn't test this on same physical machine (Itanium/RHEL5.4). I am running Oracle 10.2.0.4 with CPUJul2009 (patch 19) and all the latest OS RHEL5.4 updates, and ECC6.0 on top. It works very good, but Oracle is getting ORA-07445 (evabtr) from time to time, which causes ORA-03113 (disconnect session) on the ABAP side (or whatever is connected to db, eg. imp or impdp, too) - something like SGEN can cause it (anything making load long enough). I did everything by the book, with all SAP recommendations and I was hopping I am was doing something wrong. Anyone ?
    Zoran.

Ok, you asked for it (IASDB database instance was just a DBCA general template created database, and this alert log is it's very first bringing up after creation, no special load applied even):

  • Forms 6.0.5.0.2: Problems with Oracle 7.3.4, OK with 8.0.5

I have problems with Forms 6.0.5.0.2 running against an Oracle
7.3.4 with Net8. When trying to insert or update records I get
an FRM-40508: ORACLE error: unable to INSERT record/FRM-40509:
ORACLE error: unable to UPDATE record. The Help | Display Error
menu item shows statement = "S3AVWU3wo|$6o|" (garbled
message), error = "ORA-12663: Services required by client not
available on the server" (sometimes it's "ORA-01403: no data
    found").
It works fine against 8.0.5. As far as I'm aware Forms 6 is
    certified against 7.3.4?
    Any clues?
    Thanks for your help.

We had to upgrade from 7.3.2 to 7.3.4 when we moved over to Forms
    6.0.5.0.2 and it's working fine.
We are using Net 8 as well.

Attempting to install Forms 6.0.5.0.2 (or 6.0.8.8.0) run-time and 8.1.6 client on same NT box.
    1) I attempted to install 8.1.6 client first in c:\oracle\ora81, then Forms 6 in c:\oracle\forms6. The installer (3.3.1.2.4) errors, saying forms 6 does not support a multi-home installation.
    2) Attmpted to install Forms 6 first in c:\orant. Then installed 8.1.6 client in c:\oracle\ora81. After beginning installation (application user) the following Dependency message displays and the installation is canceled: "Installation cannot continue for the follwoing reason(s). [Oracle ODBC Driver is a single Oracle home product. It is already installed in location c:\oracle\ora81. Oracle provider for OLE DB is a single oracle home product. It is already installed in location c:\oracle\ora81. Oracle objects for OLE is a .... Pracle Provider for OLE is a single home ... You can either de-install these products or install the products in the same location as the single home products."
Click ok and the installation cancels.

  • Archive Logs NOT APPLIED but transferred

    Hi Gurus,
I have configured Primary & Standby databases in same Oracle Home. OS version is OEL 5. Database version is 10.2.0.1. I could get the archive logs in the standby site but they are not getting applied in the standby database. I don't have OLAP installed in my database version. Would this create this issue? However I attached my primary alert log details below for your reference:

  • Problem with using database link from oracle 7 to oracle 9i

    Hi To Every One
I have two oracle database oracle 7.3.4.0.1 and oracle 9i 9.2.0.1.0.
and the tns alias to connect to oracle 9i database is oracle9i and tns
alias to oracle 7 database is oracle7.I have no problem in connect to
these database using these tns aliases from either database. The tns
alias for oracle 7 is available in tnsnames.ora file of oracle9i and
tns alias for oracle 9i is available in tnsnames.ora file of oracle 7.
So there is no connection problem from each other.Connection is
working fine for each other but the problem with database links is
    like this
    Problem:
when i create database link from oracle9i user or public database link
from oracle9i for oracle7 user like this
    SQL ORACLE9I >CREATE DATABASE LINK ORACLE7 CONNECT TO <ORACLE7USER>
    IDENTIFIED BY <PASSWORD> USING 'ORACLE7';
    OR
SQL ORACLE9I >CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK ORACLE7 CONNECT TO <ORACLE7USER>
    IDENTIFIED BY <PASSWORD> USING 'ORACLE7';
The links get created sucessfully but when i write command like
    SQL ORACLE9I> DESC <ORACLE7USER_NAME>.<ORACLE7USER_TABLENAME>@ORACLE7
I RECEIVE A ORACLE ERROR LIKE
ORA-12663 SERVICE REQUIRED BY CLIENT IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE SERVER.
OR IF MY COMMAND IS LIKE
    SQL ORACLE9I> SELECT <FEILD_NAME> FROM
    <ORACLE7USER_NAME>.<ORACLE7USER_TABLENAME>@ORACLE7;
I RECEIVE AN ORACLE ERROR LIKE
    ORA-01002 FETCH OUT OF SEQUENCE.
    ORA-02063: preceding line from ORACLE7
BUT IF I CREATE A LINK FROM ORACLE7 USER FOR ORACLE9I USER
    IT WORKS FINE.
PLZ HELP ME WHAT IS THE PROBLEM THAT THE LINK FOR ORACLE 7 IS NOT WORKING WHEN
IT IS BEING CREATED FROM ORACLE9I.
    Thank u.

Oracle 9.2.0 does not support connectivity to Oracle 7. The newest version that will support this is 9.0.1.

I have no idea why this happen. is it because DB is ona VM machine?
I remember one time whe I took a snapshot on VM server, grid control services are down for a moment, 4 minutes, WebCache seemed cleaned, this page is gone, after 3 minutes, it comes back.
Anyone has the same issue, please share your experience.
    Thanks a lot,

  • Error when starting oracle instance

    Hi,
today, after a lot of trouble, I was able to install oracle 10.2.0.1 on redhat as 4 upd 2 x86_64.
This link helped me so much http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10g.shtml help.
I met a link error because of binutils version. After I installed binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0.2.x86_64.rpm (my version was binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0x86_64.rpm), I did retry and the install problem was solved.
Then during dbca I met another error (ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact) because of libaio. I had 32 bit version instead of 64 bit. After the package update dbca run successfully.
I'm facing the following problem during instance startup:
    "Thu Apr 19 17:40:17 2007
    Errors in file /oracle/admin/UAT/udump/uat_ora_2697.trc:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1

ORA-36961: Oracle OLAP is not available.
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.OLAPIHISTORYRETENTION", line 1
    ORA-06512: at line 15"
I told you those things about installation phase because maybe this error is related to the install (maybe something went wrong without I know it).
    Error in trace is:

  • Need Some Immdiate Help in Upgradation from  10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3 RAC 2 Nod

    Hi Experts,
I want to upgrade from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3.
I have a Linux platform in place. It is a 2 NODE RAC WITH ASM
    1. All my IP Addresses( Public/Private/VIP) are placed in /etc/host file.
Q1: When we upgrade to 11g It will ask for SCAN IP, what should I do for that, I don't have DNS working in my organization, where Can I get SCAN IP and its port#?
    2. There are few components Invalid, Which I feel may be hindrance for my up gradation, Could you please tell me if I can upgrade the database even if Let these components Invalid?
    COMP_ID COMP_NAME VERSION STATUS
    AMD OLAP Catalog 10.2.0.3.0 INVALID
APS OLAP Analytic Workspace 10.2.0.3.0 INVALID
XOQ Oracle OLAP API 10.2.0.3.0 INVALID
When I checked the Invalid objects I found lot of invalid objects, tried to compile them, few got compiled rest with compilation errors, However One I found very much related to this was package body.
    PACKAGE BODY OLAPSYS.DBMS_AW_UTILITIE INVALID
    Tried to compile it..threw errors.
I did some R&D after checking some Oracle notes..I could find ORA-36961: Oracle OLAP is not available...poping up.
    SQL> BEGIN cwm2_olap_level_attribute.Create_Level_Attribute('olapsys' ,'cwm2iner_d1' ,'cwm2iner_da1' ,'cwm2iner_l1' ,'cwm2iner_la1' ,'display_name' ,'short_description' ,'description'); END;

    Thanks

    Hi,
You need to use a different IP address for the SCAN VIP. In your example, it cannot be the same as dlpqcora1.
Also, if you are not using a DNS to resolve it, then be aware that only one IP address can be configured (from note +[ID 887522.1] 11gR2 Grid Infrastructure Single Client Access Name (SCAN) Explained+ ):
    >
Instead of DNS or GNS, Can we use '/etc/hosts' to resolve SCAN?
Oracle strongly recommends that you do not configure SCAN VIP addresses in the hosts file. But if you use the hosts file to resolve SCAN name, you can have only one SCAN IP address.
If hosts file is used to resolve SCAN hostname, you will receive Cluster Verification Utility failure at end of installation (See NOTE 887471.1 for more details)

  • Oracle 10G Db Starts-up After Server Reboot, BUT Goes DOWN After Some Time

    Hi All,
I am really puzzled over this one. I have couple of servers running DB on them and I have used scripts to auto-enable them when server(s) reboot.
But there is one server where I see this funny behavior.
The DB comes-up after server reboot.
I can verify that in the startup logs and some more logs that I created.
I can see that LISTENER is able to communicate also.
But after a while, the DB shuts-down....!!
I have checked all the places I could. I have also tried to see the difference between this server and others (I did not install this one), but can not see any difference.
Is there anyway to find out (log) what is shutting down the DB??
Any help will be much appreciated as I am at my wits end.
