ORA-28 error via perl wrapper of DBMS_DEBUG::get_value

Hi, I have built a perl wrapper for the DBMS_DEBUG package. It works to synchronize, recompile a procedure, set a breakpoint and step into a function into another package. When I call get_value, I recieve the helpful dbms_debug.error_exception which translates (not in the docs) to 'Internal Probe Exception'! Anyone have any ideas how I can get more info on this, or have a fix, or is there a later (than v2.4) version I can try, etc. etc.?
TIA for any help.

  • ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL when calling proc via db_link

    Hi,
    I'm on 9.2.0.8 and got strange issue with simple test case
    on source db:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE ADMIN.gg_ref(out_tokens OUT SYS_REFCURSOR) is
      BEGIN
      OPEN out_tokens for select dummy from dual;
    END ;
    Now testing code localy:
    SQL> var r refcursor
    SQL> declare
      2   output sys_refcursor;
      3  begin
      4   adminx.gg_ref(output);
      5  :r:=output;
      6  end;
      7  /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> print r
    D
    X
    So its working.
    I've got db_link to that db , and now call that proc via dblink from other 9.2.0.8 DB:
    var r refcursor
      1  declare
      2   output sys_refcursor;
      3  begin
      4   admin.gg_ref@LINK_NAME(output);
      5  :r:=output;
      6* end;
    SQL> /
    declare
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-00900: invalid SQL statementWhats wrong with my code ?
    Are there any restriction I'm not aware of ?

    What should my code look like now ?
    Should I rewrite this as function returning index by collection or something ?You can use DBMS_SQL - but use the remote package and not the local one. This is a little bit more complex ito call interface than using a ref cursor, but is the very same thing on the server side. DBMS_SQL also provides a more comprehensive set of features than using the ref cursor interface.
    The main issue though is additional coding - as DBMS_SQL is a lower level interface (a lot closer to the real Oracle Call Interface/OCI):
    --// on remote database the procedure returns a DBMS_SQL cursor instead of a ref cursor
    SQL> create or replace procedure FooProc( cur in out number, deptID number ) is
      2          rc      number;
      3  begin
      4          cur := DBMS_SQL.open_cursor;
      5
      6          DBMS_SQL.parse(
      7                  cur,
      8                  'select ename from emp where deptno = :deptID',
      9                  DBMS_SQL.native
    10          );
    11
    12          DBMS_SQL.Bind_Variable( cur, 'deptID', deptID );
    13
    14          rc := DBMS_SQL.Execute( cur );
    15  end;
    16  /
    Procedure created.
    --// from the local database side we call this remote proc
    SQL> declare
      2          c               number;  --// instead of using sys_refcursor
      3          empName         varchar2(10); --// buffer to fetch column into
      4  begin
      5          FooProc@testdb( c, 10 );  --/ call the proc that creates the cursor
      6
      7          --// we need to define our fetch buffer for the 1st column in the
      8          --// SQL projection of that cursor (10 byte fetch buffer for 1st column)
      9          DBMS_SQL.define_column@testdb( c, 1, empName, 10 );
    10
    11          --// we now fetch from this cursor, but via the DBMS_SQL
    12          --// interface
    13          loop
    14                  --// fetch the row (exit when 0 rows are fetched)
    15                  exit when DBMS_SQL.Fetch_Rows@testdb( c ) = 0;

  • ORA 00600 Error when using Mapviewer addJDBCTheme

    Hello
    I am receiveing the 600 error via my OC4J window when using mapviewers addJDBCTheme with the passTthrough boolean set to false (the query is rewitten by mapviewer to limit it to the results to the map view). If I perfrom the same query with passThrough set to true, no problems. I have a feeling this may relate to the index on my table. OC4J output for error below.

    Chris,
    Can you run this rewritten query
    SELECT * FROM ( select spat_data, mbl_bka_id, mbl_title from WPE_SPATIAL_BLOCKS_VIEW_10G c ) WHERE MDSYS.SDO_FILTER(spat_data, MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, 81989, NULL, MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 3), MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(278472.6,186744.0,279272.6,187544.0)), 'querytype=WINDOW') = 'TRUE'
    in sql*plus without any errors?
    The asumptions is there is a spatial index on spat_data and all the geometries are valid.
    Also there will be a trace file on the db server. That'll give more details on what the likely cause is.

    I want the imp utility to ignore create tablespace command.I did give the IGNORE=Y on the imp command.
    If i give fromuser,touser i can import but that does not go along with full=y.I have to do it table by table.It has also got sequences,types,synonyms etc

  • Intermittent ORA-00942 error

    Hi,
    I'm getting an intermittent ORA-00942 (Table or View Does Not Exist) error in Oracle 9i. We're getting it in several different packages, and they all have one thing in common.
    They are all either joining to a table type that had previously been populated with a BULK COLLECT INTO or a temp table that was populate with a CAST (from the same table type) or has a TABLE CAST directly in the join.
    This is the type:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE fe_id_tab AS TABLE OF INTEGER NOT NULL;
    This is the table:
    create global temporary table FE_TMP_ID
    ID INTEGER not null
    on commit delete rows;
    Again, this is an intermittent error. It only happens occasionally, and when it does happen, if you immediately run the same query, it works fine.
    Thanks,
    Karin

    t1.network_id (+) = t2.network_id and
    t1.icp_id (+) = t2.icp_id
    id is a surrogate key of table1 and there is a trigger to populate this on insert. There is also a unique index on table2 (month_id, network_id, icp_id). When I change the disc_comment column through the form and try to save I get an error:
    Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table
    If I take out the outer join, it works fine. The problem is table1 will not have a row for every row in table 2, hence I need the outer join. Any ideas how I can get around this problem?
    Regards
    Sadanand

    Hi Andy,
    Yes I am paginating the form and I am not getting a set of blank rows. What I mean by next set of records is - if the page is showing rows 11 to 20 and I enter a comment against row 15 and save, the form inserts the comment into the table via the INSTEAD OF trigger and the page automatically refreshes with rows 21 to 30 from the query. On the other hand, if I click Prev link and redisplay rows 11 to 20, change the comment and click on Save, the form updates the comment and refreshes the page with rows 11 to 20. If I update the comment again, it redisplays page with rows 11 to 20 and this is the behaviour I desire when I insert data. Remember that I am using outer join, so there will be a mix of inserts and updates of data. I hope my explanation is clear. I have tried removing the tabular form region and starting from scratch but that hasn't helped - maybe I will drop the page and recreate it.
    As for checksum error, you are right - it disappears after I logout and login again.
    Regards
    Sadanand

  • ORA-00932 error: limitations for SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY and SDO_GEOMETRY

    Hi all,
    In my project, I use C# .net and Oracle 11g. I use ADO.NET OracleClob object in my C# code which will be passed to a procedure (procedure defined in a package) where I convert the input clob/wkt geometry into SDO_GEOMETRY using SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY and subsequently the GEOMETRY can be pushed into a table as shown below.
    PROCEDURE insert_extent(p_key_id IN NUMBER, p_extent IN CLOB) AS
    m_geom SDO_GEOMETRY;
    BEGIN
    m_geom := SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY(p_extent);
    UPDATE TEMP SET GEOM = m_geom
    WHERE IDS = p_key_id;
    COMMIT;
    END insert_extent;
    The above code is working fine for small size clob inputs, but, I have encountered ORA-00932 error when my clob/wkt geometry was more than 30MB in size.
    Can any one tell me what is the limitation of size of the clob to convert the CLOB to SDO_GEOMETRY and is there any limitaion on SDO_GEOMETRY datatype object to write the geometry into a table as well via insert/update statement.
    Also share your thoughts on how to resolve the issue.
    Please let me know if further information is required and thanks for the help in advance.
    Regards,
    Kumar

  • Export Results ORA-00936 Error Reported

    In an attempt to extract all of a package's source code in one file as well as work in a file-oriented fashion (which other posters have commented is not well supported), I issued a select dbms_metadata.get_ddl(...) from dual. This generated the output I wanted in the worksheet results. However, the ORA-00936 error is thrown when I try to export this as text to overwrite my (checked out from source control) file. My only recourse then becomes to copy the result, open my file (outside SQL-D) and replace what's there (which does work, by the way).
    There was another post on this issue in a prior version where the error was attributed to double quotes around aliases, but I'm still getting the error (see Re: Export query results error, v. 5 / 1343

    This is a bug with how SQL Developer does it's export (not that I could find it logged on MetaLink).
    When you export a query, SQL Developer writes a wrapper select around your query to drive the export. In an example of what you are trying to do, it converts the following query (I added an alias to see if that helped, but it didn't):
    select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('PACKAGE', 'MY_PKG') my_ddl from dual;
    to (based on the trace file with sql_trace switched on):
    select * from (select from ( select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('PACKAGE', 'MY_PKG') my_ddl from dual));
    Your immediate options are to continue with your current workaround, switch to a query on DBA_SOURCE for this export, or cope with the way SQL Developer currently does it's file based development.
    As far as getting this fixed (hopefully before 1.1), you would either need to log an SR on MetaLink or hope that one of the SQL Developer team logs a bug based on this thread.

  • How to catch PL/SQL: ORA-04052 error?

    I need to execute a procedure that select remote objects but the remote db is a RAC DB and I only have access to one of the nodes, the remote RAC have load balancing enabled and the remote DBA can’t create a DB Service for my connection, so, I have to re-run the execution of my procedure until it connects successful to the remote DB through a db link, but I can’t catch the error ORA-12541: TNS:no listener.
    Someone knows how to catch the error??
    set serveroutput on
    declare
    function F_DATE return sysdate
    is
    ld_return date;
    begin
    begin
    select sysdate into ld_return from dual@dbl_bnvalores;
    exception
    when others then
    ld_return := f_date;
    end;
    return ld_return;
    end F_DATE;
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('Remote sysdate: '||f_date);
    end;
    Error at line 2
    ORA-06550: line 2, column 26:
    PLS-00562: a function must return a type.
    ORA-06550: line 7, column 42:

    ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
    ORA-06550: line 7, column 7:

    I could confirm that you would never branch to the exception in case of no listener!
    So another possibility that comes to mind is to enclose the remote select in an execute immediate and only execute it if you could establish a connection via UTL_TCP:
    Something along those lines:
    michaels>  DECLARE
       conn               UTL_TCP.connection;
       l_date             DATE;
       no_listner_excep   EXCEPTION;
       PRAGMA EXCEPTION_INIT (no_listner_excep, -29260);
    BEGIN
       conn := UTL_TCP.open_connection ('fleet', 1569);
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'select sysdate from dual@fleet_new'
                    INTO l_date;
       UTL_TCP.close_connection (conn);
       DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line (l_date);
    EXCEPTION
       WHEN no_listner_excep
       THEN
          DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line (SQLERRM (SQLCODE));
    END;
    ORA-29260: network error: TNS:no listener
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
