ORA-29532 when trying to write to a file using a Java stored procedure
I have a Java stored procedure which gives me the following error when I run it:-
SQL> exec zipfile('c:\temp\test.txt');
BEGIN zipfile('c:\temp\test.txt'); END;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
java.security.AccessControlException: the Permission (java.io.FilePermission
c:\temp\test.txt.zip write) has not been granted to SCOTT. The PL/SQL to grant
this is dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT', 'SYS:java.io.FilePermission',
'c:\temp\test.txt.zip', 'write' )
ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.ZIPFILE", line 1
ORA-06512: at line 1
I have tried running the dbms_java command as recommended as sys and have performed the necessary commit afterwards, also I have ran dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT', 'java.io.FilePermission',
'*', 'write' )
But I still get the ORA-29532.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get around this ?
Are you getting ORA-29532 for the same file and the same permission ?

Hi,
My SD card reader is not able to write or delete and format sd cards.
WIN7 x64 Home Basic, 0x80070013 when I trying to write or delete files. When I trying to format I can see a message that disk is write protected.
The card is not locked, it's work in Lenovo Idea Pad s10 without any problem, It's also work in my Pentax camera.
I'm almost sure that the problem is software, but can't find solution.
Could Any one help me please?
Laptop is new, 8 days in use.I have network shutdown 2.0.1 installed and the pcns process normally would be abend in 1 or 2 minute's time. What could be the problem ? Consider to upgrade the network shutdown to 2.2.1 version. Could the problem be resolved in new version ? Any precaution needs to be taken when installing the new version ?

If you did....

How Do I write an XML file using Java?
Hello there!! to everyone reading my post.
I have this project I need to do, and I have no clue where to start, I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
I need to know how to write an XML file using a Java Program, but without using a Third party library.... just using java native APIs.
I will probably take the values to construct the file from a form.
I will certainly appreciate if you could post some sample code for me.
Thank you very much in advance..Hello there!,
I have some doubts about the Tutorial I am currently reading. correct me If I'm wrong, but the section "Write a simple XML file" teaches you how to do so using a text editor. I need to create my XML file from a running Java Program written by myself, that takes the values to build it from some variables.
If I'm totally wrong about what I'm saying, could you please point me to where I can find the information of how to do what I'm asking for, inside the tutorial.
Thank you very much,...
sincerely. -
I switched my keyboard to french and now it won't change back to english. Quite the hassle when trying to write in english. Why would it be stuck?
When the keyboard pops up, tab the Globe icon, and select the English keyboard.

ORA-03113 when trying to connect to database

Can anybody help me in determining the problem ? Is there a systemtic incompatibility in connecting a 7.1.3 client to a 9.2 (or even higher) database ?Thanks for your reply.
But the funny thing on this compatibility issues is, that this configuration worked before. The only thing we did, was to setup the client-PC on a new hardware with also a new operating system (upgrading from Solaris 5.8 to 5.10). And from that time we encountered this problem.
Are there any OS-related problems known or better to say: is (was) ORACLE 7.1.3 supported on Solaris 5.10 ? Should we look for any patches which might help us ? -
Medium error when trying to write dvd's
I am getting the following "medium error" message when trying to write to dvd's. This has happened to numerous DVD-R's that I have been trying to write. Previous dvd's from the same batch worked fine.
Here is the message:
http://www.bards.org/www.jpg
Thanks
Powerbook G4 aluminum; Mac OS X (10.3.8)John,
Agree it seems odd that you just started getting the errors with media that has previously worked. I'd try a different brand to isolate if it's a DVD media problem or something with your PB.
FWIW, we only use TDK (have used -R and +R) and have not had media errors. Circuit City carries them at around $8 per pack of 25. If you search around the internet, you'll find discussion about various media sources (India, Taiwan, Japan) and quality within different manufacturers. -
ORA-00932 when trying to pass ARRAY from Java SP to PL/SQL
Hi all
I am trying to pass ARRAYs back and forth between PL/SQL and Java stored procedures. But I keep getting:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected a return value that is an instance of a user defined Java class convertible to an Oracle type got an object that could not be converted
Here's my PL/SQL:
create or replace type CONTENTP.sentences_array as VARRAY(1000) of CLOB
-- I've also tried .. as TABLE of CLOB and varray/table of VARCHAR2
declare
proc_clob CLOB;
arr SENTENCES_ARRAY;
begin
SELECT document_body
into proc_clob
from documents
where document_id = 618784;
arr := processdocument.sentencesplit (proc_clob);
end;
PROCESSDOCUMENT package definition:
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE CONTENTP.PROCESSDOCUMENT AS
FUNCTION sentenceSplit(Param1 CLOB)
return SENTENCES_ARRAY
AS
LANGUAGE java
NAME 'com.contentp.documents.ProcessDocument.sentenceSplit(oracle.sql.CLOB) return oracle.sql.ARRAY';
FUNCTION removeHTML(Param1 CLOB)
return CLOB
AS
LANGUAGE java
NAME 'com.contentp.documents.ProcessDocument.removeHTML(oracle.sql.CLOB) return oracle.sql.CLOB';
end;
Java sentenceSplit code:
public static oracle.sql.ARRAY sentenceSplit ( CLOB text) throws IOException, SQLException
Connection conn = new OracleDriver().defaultConnection();
String[] arrSentences = sent.getsentences ( CLOBtoString (text) );
ArrayDescriptor arrayDesc =
ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor ("SENTENCES_ARRAY", conn);
ARRAY ARRSentences = new ARRAY (arrayDesc, conn, arrSentences);
return ARRSentences;
I have confirmed that the String[] arrSentences contains a valid string array. So the problem seems to be the creation and passing of ARRSentences.
I have looked at pages and pages of documents and example code, and can't see anything wrong with my declaration of ARRSentences. I'm at a loss to explain what's wrong.
Thanks in advance - any help is much appreciated!I am trying to do something similar but seems like getting stuck at registerOutParameter for this.
Type definition:

array = new ARRAY (adString, connection, result);
connection.commit ();
return array;
} catch (SQLException sqlexp) {
try {
connection.rollback();
} catch (SQLException exp) {
return array;
Oracle Stored Function:

Java Code calling Oracle Stored Procedure:
ocs = (OracleCallableStatement) oraconn.prepareCall(queryBuf.toString());
ArrayDescriptor adString = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("VARCHARARRAY", oraconn);
String[] originAreaCds = sTDynAllocationVO.getGeogAreaCds();
ARRAY areaCdArray = new ARRAY (adString, oraconn, originAreaCds);
ocs.registerOutParameter(1, OracleTypes.ARRAY);
ocs.setArray (2, areaCdArray);
String[] serviceCds = sTDynAllocationVO.getServiceCds();
ARRAY serviceCdsArray = new ARRAY (adString, oraconn, serviceCds );
ocs.setArray (3, serviceCdsArray);

ARRAY vvpcsArray = new ARRAY (adString, oraconn, vvpcs);
ocs.setArray (4, vvpcsArray);

Error I get:

ORA-04030: out of process memory when using Java Stored Procedures
Hello,
I have a problem using Java Stored Procedures in Oracle 10g.
My Java application performs http posts to a webservice and the response is parsed in order to populate some DB tables.
There is a scheduled job which calls the Java Stored Procedure every x minutes.
No matter of the 'x minutes' values - after about 160 - 200 calls I get this error:
ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 1048620 bytes (joxp heap,f:OldSpace)
ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 2097196 bytes (joxp heap,f:OldSpace)
The job stops just while is posting the http request. The weird thing is that almost each time the first http post request I get this error:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

at org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpClient.executeMethod(HttpClient.java:397)
at org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpClient.executeMethod(HttpClient.java:323)
and the second try works fine.
So, The out of process memory occured each time just before getting such an error, and I suspect to be a connection between these errors.
Tech details:
1. OS: WinXP
2. Oracle 10.1.0.2.0
3. To perform http post I use HttpClient 3.1 from Apache.
4. I checked the http connection to be closed each time, and this is done.
5. I checked the oracle statement and connection to be closed each time and this is done
6. The JVM error (logged in .trc files of Oracle) is:

Can be a problem with JVM threading under Oracle ?The server prcess failed to allocate more memory for large objects ( in Oldspace).
If you Google ORA-04030, you will see several recommendations to work around this.
The Java VM in the database already has HttpClient, i don't know why you are loading the Apache HttpClient but this might not be the surce of the problem.

I get the following error when trying to open a pdf file... '*pdf.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read". I am able to open pdf files in IE and other programs.
I am encountering the same problem -- though with .qfx files from my bank. This worked fine in Firefox 31 ESR, but since upgrading to Firefox 33.0, I get the "<name>.qfx.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read" when I attempt to download. (I should add that downloading PDF statements from the same site works fine, and that the qfx downloads work fine in IE and Chrome.)
I tried safe mode, it is still broken. Tried v34 beta, no luck. I reverted to version 31, it works again.
I guess I will stick with the older version until a solution is found...or just use an alternate browser to download my financial data. -
I keep getting a 404 error when trying to access any search link using google, I can get to a website by directly using the URL. I have cleared history, empited the cache and reset safari. Any suggestions.
Right. If you are using delegated privs and sudo, make sure that sudo is configured to pass on the PERL5LIB and ORACLE_HOME environment variables at least.

When trying to convert a pdf file into a word doc I only get graphics but no text. What to do?
Hey hamsa142,
I think you are converting a scanned PDF to word.
You might need to run OCR first to make the text recognizable and then convert it to word.
