Oracle 11g Forms Configuration Forms.conf  (Image and Html files)

Hello,
We are configuring our forms.conf file as such.
AliasMatch ^/forms/help/(..*) "/u01/app/forms/as_1/forms/appname/help/$1"
AliasMatch ^/forms/icons/(..*) "/u01/app/forms/as_1/forms/appname/icons/$1"
AliasMatch ^/forms/images/(..*) "/u01/app/forms/as_1/forms/appname/icons/$1"
However when I go to
https://server/forms/help/help.pdf
I get 404 .
Is there something I am missing here. file permissions are read across the board and the directory exists.
Is there some other configuraiton I am missing.
Thanks!

Was able to fix this problem.
The following is hte resolution.
In plan.xml
1. At the very top create a variables.
<variable>
<name>vd-application</name>
<value>/u01/middleware/wls_forms/forms/forms</value>
</variable>
<variable>
At the bottom Add
<variable-assignment>
<name>vd-application</name>
<xpath>/weblogic-web-app/virtual-directory-mapping/[url-pattern="help/*"]
/local-path</xpath>
</variable-assignment>

  • Oracle 11g, 64 bit, Forms 11g 64 bit on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

    We just changed over to Windows 7 64 Bit now we trying to find out what version of Fusion Middleware will run on Windows 7 64 bit. Most posting say you can't install
    Oracle 11g 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit OS, but we have found a few that say they have found away to install 11g 64 bit. Not one of them shows you the install
    from start to finish and some of the posting go back to 2009!
    If this has been a problem from 2009 - present can some tell why Oracle has not provided a fix or update for Windows 7 64 bit and are they going to in the future?
    If anyone knows how install Oracle 11g 64 bit, Forms 11g 64 bit on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit please let me know!
    Thanks!
    Monty

    Monty,
    I assume that you mean the developer tools? They are kind of in limbo with 64-bit support for the dev tools, but if you want to get the latest (as of today) release working, you can do this:
    1). Install a 64-bit JDK
    2). Install WLS 10.3.4 generic (use the 64-bit java)
    3). Install Forms/Reports 11.1.1.2 (install only, don't configure)
    4). Install Forms/Reports 11.1.1.4 (install only, don't configure)
    5). Edit your PATH system variable so that it doesn't contain any parenthesis. I did this by creating a junction point for c:\program files (x86) and using the junction point in the path
    6). Run the configuration utility to create the forms/reports domain. Be sure to specify the dev tools
    7). Look in the start menu for the Reports Builder icon. It will be pointing to a batch file. Edit that batch file to comment out the lines that print a message and exit (because you're on 64-bit)
    Not officially supported, but it works for me.

  • Images and js files within a deployed war file are generating 404 errors.

    Greetings,
    I have an odd situation in that image files and js files that are part of a deployed war file are generating 404 (not found) errors when accessed via https but ARE found when accessed via http.
    Unfortunately we are required to use https.
    I have verified via jar -tf that the files are indeed part of the war file. So, it is not that they are missing as is evident when accessed via http. (they appear as expected)
    A work around is to create the sub directories under the document root, on the ohs, and populate the sub directories with the images and js files that were used as part of the war file build. While this works, it doesn't explain why they would generate a 404 error when referenced from within the war via https.
    The war file works correctly on our 10g installation.
    I also have a very simple deployed war file and it too seems to have an issue finding direcotries/files that are part of the war file when referenced via https but not http.
    We are using Oracle 11g OHS and using the WLS Admin Console to do the deploying. We also are using the OSSO for the performing the required authentication.
    I have an SR in with oracle and have been working with them but I thought I would post here too.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Re: [iPlanet-JATO] Tomcat 3.2 serving images and html?

    First of all David you are faster responding to email than I am. Thanks.
    We tried your scheme with no luck. You are using "ROOT" as your war file
    name ROOT, correct? Are you sure the jsp would reference
    "/images/MyProject/nppnback.gif"? Why is "MyProject" in there? Where is
    the directory "images" defined to Tomcat? Is it a default?
    Here's another try at explaining:
    In my JSP I have;
    <IMG SRC="/images/ef.gif" ALT=People Banner">
    My application is in webapps/EformsAppWar
    (jsps in EformsAppWar/EformsApp/eforms/*.jsp)
    (classes in EformsAppWar/WEB-INF/classes)
    so images are in webapps/EformsAppWar/images
    and there is, indeed a ef.gif there.
    However with no server.xml changes (everything default), Tomcat 3.2
    gives a 404 in his log and states in the 404 message that context is
    null (CTX < >) and ca't find /images/ef.gif + NULL.
    By the way I just noticed that in Tomcat 3.1 I have the images directory
    directly under webapps.

    This works:
    If the doc root is webapps\ROOT --
    Using defaults...jsp's would be put in
    webapps\ROOT\MyProjectApp\MyProject\*.jsp
    and images would be put in webapps\ROOT\images\*.gif

  • Images and audio files in a database

    how does one put images and audio files in oracle 8? What are the data types going to be in the tables for images and audio files..?
    null

    One of the most important reasons that one would choose to store multimedia in the database is to be able to manage this content safely and efficiently. Having multimedia in the database allows you to use database itegrity techniques to keep your data safe and consistent. If you choose to use BFILE storage, you will NOT have these advantages. You will have to back up the database, and the filesystem(s) where the multimedia is stored, and devise a way to keep this data consistent. You will not be able to rely upon the database backup entirely, you would need filesystem backups to be coordinated with database backups.
    I would suggest that you store the multimedia in BLOBs within the database.
    From the LOB application developer's guide:
    * External (BFILE) LOBs do not participate in transactions. Any support for integrity and durability must be provided by the underlying file system as governed by the operating system.

  • Website image and zip file download links not working in Dreamweaver Air application

    Hi
    I have successfully created and AIR app for an existing business website using the Dreamweaver AIR Extension. The site works very well in all respects except for the part where we have high resolution images and zip files available for download. The download links refuse to do anything, and right-click (PC) / ctl-click (Mac) does nto work either.
    I suspect this may be an AIR sandbox/security issue but am I correct and what can I do to fix it?
    Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to give.

    I am now facing the same problem. I wrote a servlet .
    code like this
             response = (HttpServletResponse) faces.getExternalContext().getResponse();
             response.setContentType("application/x-download");
             String agent = request.getHeader("USER-AGENT");

           os.close();
    and i open a new window refer to above jsp ,also i set a breakPoint at os.close(),the program has passed through,but nothing happened in the window.

  • Identifying image and video file names in my presentation

    I want to identify the file names of all the images and videos in my Keynote presentation so that I can re-assemble the presentation in Final Cut Pro . . .  I thought that just using Inspector might give me the file names, but it only shows me what the image or video looks like, but not the file names.
    My photo images are not in iPhoto (I don't use iPhoto), they're in various other folders.
    Thank you.

    There are two ways to find file names of media used in Keynote:
    1
    for a few images, select the images on the slide
    Inspector > Builds
    click on more options
    if there are no builds set up, choose an effect
    the file name will display in the build order:
    2
    It is more usefull and easier  to do the following:
    right click the Keynote file and select     Show Package Contents
    all the images and QuickTime files will be listed
    you can make a screen grab to make a note of the file names (in finder -  command shift 4)
    the files can be copied to a folder and imported into other applications for further work

  • A working method to load local PDF and HTML files on iOS

    I had a lot of trouble getting this to work, and I'm hoping this post saves someone time. Some of the information that's been posted in other locations is either wrong, incomplete, or might only work on Android. By the time you read this message the information here may no longer be accurate, so here's the testing environment:
    Window 7
    Flash CS 5.5.0
    AIR 2.7.0.19530, which was compiled on June 28, 2011
    iPad 1, version 4.3.5 of iOS
    Let's get started.
    On iOS, you load external PDF and HTML files using the StageWebView class.
    On Windows, StageWebView works but the HTMLLoader class is a better choice if you're creating a desktop app.
    You can also load HTML files by reading in the file's text. The information in this post is only for loading external HTML files.
    StageWebView will not load a file that's in File.applicationDirectory. All files bundled in your app are placed in File.applicationDirectory, which means you'll have to copy any external file you wish to load with StageWebView to another directory.
    So where can you copy your file? File.applicationStorageDirectory won't work. File.documentsDirectory does work.
    Several people have recommended copying to a temporary file using File.createTempFile(). This works, but there's a catch: it seems that, like Windows, StageWebView relies on a file's extension when determining how to load it. When you create a temporary file on iOS using File.createTempFile(), the file will have no extension (and on Windows, File.createTempFile() creates a file with the extension .tmp, which is equally problematic).
    The solution to the file extension problem is to rename the temporary file by appending the original file's extension. AIR currently does not have a <file>.rename() function, so you'll have to do it using <tempFile>.moveTo().
    Here's some code I've successfully tested several times on both iOS and Windows. The file is copied to the temp directory. The file's extension is restored by just slapping the original file name to the end of the temp file.
            private function loadExternalFile():void
                var webView = new StageWebView();
                webView.stage = this.stage;
                webView.viewPort = new Rectangle( 0, 0, 1024, 555 );
                // Works with either html or pdf files.
                // These are stored in the root of the application directory.
                var fileName:String = "euei.pdf";
                //var fileName:String = "euei.htm";
                var sourceFile = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath( fileName );
                var workingFile = File.createTempFile();
                try
                    sourceFile.copyTo( workingFile, true );
                    // You have to rename the temp file
                    var renamedTempFile:File = workingFile.resolvePath(workingFile.nativePath + fileName);
                    workingFile.moveTo(renamedTempFile, true);
                    webView.loadURL( renamedTempFile.url );
                catch (err:Error) { }

    I tried this with Flash CS5.5 and AIR 4.0 SDK. Any pdf loaded simply fills the viewPort with black. Also tested with a png version of the pdf and that displayed just fine.
    What's the purpose of copying to a temp work file? I found that webView.loadURL( sourceFile.url ); gave me the exact same results.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    So you want us to write it for you? It's pretty straight forward, first parse the xml file with the *[best java xml parser|http://www.google.com/search?&q=parsing+xml+in+java]* and then go through the nodes and construct the html with strings and concatination. Then write the file using *[the best java file writer|http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=writing+to+a+file+in+java]*.
    He would do better to use existing tools that make this easy [http://www.ling.helsinki.fi/kit/2004k/ctl257/JavaXSLT/Ch05.html|http://www.ling.helsinki.fi/kit/2004k/ctl257/JavaXSLT/Ch05.html]
