Oracle adf file handling af: inputFile and convert to binary to send in

Hi ...
I want to try to do is select a file by a <af: inputFile and convert it to binary without having to upload it to the UCM .... I have some idea of how it would be something like this ....
<af:form usesUpload="true">
<af:inputFile label="Upload:"
valueChangeListener="#{backingBean.fileUploaded}"/>
<af:commandButton text="Begin"/>
</af:form>
import java.net.MalformedURLException;
import java.net.URL;
import javax.faces.application.FacesMessage;
import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
import javax.faces.event.ActionEvent;
import javax.faces.event.ValueChangeEvent;
import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
import javax.xml.ws.Holder;
import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.model.UploadedFile;
import org.tempuri.*;
String Binary = new String();
public void fileUploaded(ValueChangeEvent event) {
UploadedFile file = (UploadedFile) event.getNewValue();
if (file != null)
FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
FacesMessage message = new FacesMessage(
"Successfully uploaded file " + file.getFilename() +
" (" + file.getLength() + " bytes)");
context.addMessage(event.getComponent().getClientId(context), message);
public void llamarWs(UploadedFile file){
URL url;
try {
Holder<String> holder = new Holder<String>();
Holder<Boolean> holderResponse = new Holder<Boolean>();
url = new URL("10.10.20.152:8088/VTDWEntelSAEDWS/DWSAEDService.asmx?wsdl");
DWSAEDServiceSoap servicePort = new DWSAEDService(url, new QName("http://tempuri.org/","DWSAEDService")).getDWSAEDServiceSoap();
servicePort.uploadDocument(holder, arg1, arg2, arg3, arg4, arg5, holderResponse);
String respuest = holder.value;
} catch (MalformedURLException e) {
  but I can not make it work ...

User, please always tell us your jdev version as the solution might depend on it.
Instead of posting some code, can you please elaborate on the use case? From the code I don'T understand what you try to do. Data (file) uploaded through the af:inputFile is binary. The file may only be a text file, but it might be an image. The inputFile doen not know as it only represents the data stream send from the client.
In you code I don't see that you actually read the data from the stream, neither do I see any action on the stream. Can you describe what you mean by
but I can not make it work ...You may read http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/11/26/jdev11-1-2-1-0-handling-imagesfiles-in-adf-part-1/ for more info about file handling in ADF

  • I need help on Oracle 9  file handler & utility packet!

    Hello ALL:
    I need to write a short SQL program to update the database via reading an external data file. How do I configure the standard oracle packet of oracle 9 to include the file handler? Please help me with details on oracle init files and some sample SQL commands to call the external file. I really appreciate the help. OracleUser.

    Tubby:
    Again, thank you. My answers to your feedback is Yes, No, Yes.
    I would thought that using the file handle would get the job done.
    Any how,
    1) how do I loop thru rows, say A1, A2.....A10,000 and use the content
    reading the this external table such as the content in A1 to compare against a certain column with many entries in a table in oracle using Loop/End Loop and select?
    2) What does oracle do the this external table at the end of session!
    3) Could I also create multiple external tables, let say 2?
    Thanks Tubby.

  • How Do RoboHelp 9 WebHelp Generated Files Handle Map IDs and Aliases?

    The text below was written by our team's developer/architect. I am the help author who uses RoboHelp to write content and generate the help files, but I am clueless how it all gets generated and is deployed. Please help. We use RoboHelp 9. I use it in Windows XP and our app and help run on IE 7, 9, and Firefox (multiple versions).
    "Our application uses the numeric identifiers associated with the Map ID. For example, to get to the <appname>_home_page.htm file, we use the number 1053. <appname> = pecs, in this example.
    All of this is used in a call to a RoboHelp method defined in the RoboHelp_CSH.js file. The mehtod we are calling is the RH_ShowHelp() JavaScript method and the code to perform the call, when you click on Page Help, is this:
    RH_ShowHelp(0, ''/pecsHelp/index.htm>pecsHelp',HH_HELP_CONTEXT,topic);
    Topic is translated to the Map ID number for the page help. HH_HELP_CONTEXT is defined in the RoboHelp_CSH.js file. This method translates into a URL and from what I have seen, the URL that gets generated is this:
    http://{server}[:port]/pecsHelp/index.htm/{server}[:port]/pecsHelp/index.htm#<id=1053>>pecsHelp
    Server and port get replaced with the appropriate values. I have no clue how id=1053 is supposed to get translated to mean "pecs_home_page.htm". If you check the PECS_help.h file, you will see the following entry:
    #define PECS_Home_Page1 1053
    Then in the RoboHelp alias file (PECS 3.0.ali), the following line is in the file:
    <alias name="PECS_Home_Page1" link="pecs_home_page.htm"> </alias>
    But both of these files are used during the WebHelp generation process and I don't know how the WebHelp generated files handle the Map ID and aliases."

    You need to assign the numbers you find in the pecs_help.h file to topics in your help. You do this in Context Sensitive Help > Map Files > All Map IDs. (From RH7, but I assume the location is similar in RH9.) This creates the entries in the .ali file.
    Peter Grainge suggests a couple of sites to read for a greater understanding here:
    http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/calling_webhelp/using_map_ids.htm
    (Although the second  site is based on RH X5, the basic concepts and procedures should be very similar. )

  • Oracle.adf.view.faces.model classes and serializable

    Some (most?) classes in oracle.adf.view.faces.model - e.g., ChildPropertyTreeModel - are not serializable. If these objects are given the "session" scope, this causes problems. For instance, in a clustered environment with failover/load-balancing, session attributes must be serialized to be replicated to all cluster members. Adding one of these object to the session causes the serialization - and therefore the replication - process to fail. Does anybody know why these classes are not marked as serializable?

  • Picture file handling between Aperture and Photoshop

    Hello
    I have transferred several photos via "edit in external editor" from aperture to photoshop.
    In photoshop I made different operations:
    a) just looking (no special manipulations) -> no saving
    b) manipulations on a particular photo -> saving via "save" in PS
    c) combination of different photos -> saving via "save as" in PS
    Meanwhile I have learned, that option C just saves the file in the file system, but does not update the database entry in aperture. I have also found different versions of photos in the file system, which I had just opened in PS (case a). "File system" means in that case, that they are under the folder "masters", when I drill down the Aperture Data File. Case b seems to work OK.
    I have now different questions:
    why are photos, which I have just opened in PS, still in the file system (even when I have deleted them) in Aperture? Seems that those versions are kept. Is'nt that blowing up my database? (case a)
    when I reimport pictures from case c, are they stored a second time in aperture or does the aperture database point to the particular file (because the file already is under the folder "masters")
    Any feedback to data handling between PS and Aperture?
    Thanks in advance,
    Vanillia

    IMO today you are very likely to be best served by the inexpensive Photoshop Elements. However, Adobe's world is changing at the end of this month (March 27) with official announcement of MacIntel versions. You may want to re-ask this question then, being careful of April Fool's Day wags.
    http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?RSS&newsID=17399
    Also, version 2 of Aperture is expected in the next few months, and I will be surprised if simple color tools such as you describe are not included.

  • Mac | Indesign CS4 files seen as CS3 and converted

    Hello, I am experiencing something weird today.
    My ID CS4 files created with a 10.5.8 Mac started being seen as they were CS3 files, I mean as soon as I try to open them, they are being converted until I save them again.
    From there on, ID can open those files (re-saved) correctly without converting them again.
    I am afraid ID might change something when "converting" those files. Have you ever seen something like this?
    many thanks for your help,
    Ciao
    Carlo

    Hello, no, I did not install anything.
    It is already ID 6.04.
    I was wondering if it could be something at OS level instead.
    Thank you

  • Read in a file and convert into Binary

    Hi there, i am new to java so plz give me a hand on this problem.
    I am suppose to read in a file(with whole bunch of different records), and what i need to do is convert the file into binary.....how do i do that??
    the original Q asked:
    Create a java program that will read the products file and write the products data into a java binary file. Adhere to good data typing conventions. That means, if a column in the input file is of type integer, then the data in that column should also be written to the output file in integer format. Same thing for String...
    Here is the code i have so far
    import java.io.*;
    class FileIO {
    /* Main method */
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
         FileReader file1 = new FileReader("test.txt");
         BufferedReader fileInput = new BufferedReader(file1);
         FileWriter file2 = new FileWriter("test1.txt");
         PrintWriter fileOutput = new PrintWriter(file2);
         String text;
         text = fileInput.readLine();
         //toBinaryString(text); <---i think there is something to do with the tobinary string but i am not sure
              System.out.println(text);
              fileOutput.println(text);
         // Close file
         fileInput.close();
         fileOutput.close();
    E-mail me directly if it's possible, thanks a lot~!!!!!

    Maybe not the answer the teacher is looking for, but I'd be highly tempted to point out that the file, regardless of what's in it, is already binary. Even if it's a text file, what do you think the characters are defined as? Bytes.

  • Muxed Video Files, how to unmux and convert to iPod format?

    Hi,
    I recently learned that all my music video files are muxed. I just bought Quicktime Pro learning from a support rep. that that program will do the job. Wrong, and a waste of 30.00, I think. I was wondering if there was anyway to unmux these files so i can convert them to an iPod format using Quicktime Pro? Any help and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

    No, QuickTime Pro won't work with muxed files. You'll have to use something like Videora to convert them to iPod format.

  • Difference Between Oracle ADF and ADF Rich Client

    Hello Gurus,
    I want to know the difference between those two:
    Oracle ADF:
    http://goo.gl/6Q1i2
    and
    ADF Rich Client:
    http://goo.gl/L31ra
    I downloaded Jdeveloper 11g (11.1.2.3.0)
    I did this tutorial which It adf right? http://goo.gl/8Mf7c
    and this other is rich client right? http://goo.gl/7Krew
    Can I please know the advantages of them over the other one? THANKS !!!

    ADF Faces Rich Client Components are a part of Oracle ADF.
    So Oracle ADF uses ADF Faces as the components for the rich web UI, but it also offers things like simplified database access through ADF Business Components, an advanced ADF Controller layer, and simple data binding.
    I would suggest starting with this seminar:

  • Read linux lastlog file and convert to a String

    Hi
    I am trying to read the data from the lastlog file in Linux. I think this is a binary file encoded in ASCII. How would I go about reading this file and converting the binary data into a String and then displaying the data? Each bit of data is separated by a new line to distinguish between the different values.
    Many Thanks
    Sambo

    "Binary file encoded in ASCII"? Well, you'd have to find out what encoding was used and then reverse is.
    As for reading files in general, check here:

  • Difference between the binding and the value attribute of an Oracle ADF com

    Can somebody please tell me the difference between
    the binding attribute and the value attribute of any oracle ADF component such as inputText and when would we use one over the other.
    THanks,

    Value represent the value that is going to be displayed by the item.
    Binding indicate the backing bean object that represents the instance of the component.

  • Oracle ADF BC stress testing

    Hi All,
    I have an Oracle ADF application which uses SOA and ADF BC in back-end. As per my requirement, I need to do stress test on ADF BC back-end component. As I said, this application is containing SOA and ADF BC calls so I prepared a test JSPX file on top of single AM (ADF's application module integrates all BC components).
    This is first step in which I actually test single AM. There-after I prepared a JMeter script which actually makes HTTP URLs for calling JSPX. Firstly, I prepared this script for 15 concurrent users. Accordingly, I made changes in AM pooling configurations.
    This is working fine but I have a doubt here, which is, I need to prepare seperate JSPX files (for different HTTP URLs) for different AMs (i.e. different ADF BC components). Is there any way through which I just pass some code snippet in existing application which actually test the ADF BC component. If I create JSPX file each time for each AM module, this will take too much time and efforts.
    I am looking for something which should be implemented with existing application. I do not know, how to do that?
    Please suggest me in case you have any alternate solutions.

  • Oracle ADF viewScope causing session size bloat

    As I'm sure you know, ADF introduces some additional scopes (pageFlowScope, viewScope and backingBeanScope) on top of the standard JSF ones. Our use of one of the ADF scopes, viewScope, appears to be causing our session size to bloat over time.
    Objects that are view scoped (e.g. our Backing Beans) are managed by ADF and appear to be put into the session in a org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.application.StateManagerImpl$PageState object. The number of these objects in the session is equal to the org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.CLIENT_STATE_MAX_TOKENS in our web.xml configuration file.
    Once all of the tokens are ‘used up’, by navigating around the application, the oldest one of these objects is removed from the session and (should be) garbage collected at some point. However, the reclaim of this space is observed much later, after the session has expired. Because of this, when load testing the application we see the heap space usage gradually increasing, before causing the JVM to crash.
    The monitoring of the creation and destruction of our objects is done by adding log statements in the default constructor and in the finalize method (Which overrides the finalize method on object). The logging statements on object creation are seen when we would expect them, but the logging statements from the finalize method are only seen after session expiry. When a garbage collection is triggered using Oracle JRocket Mission Control we see the heap usage drop significantly, but don’t observe any logging from the finalize method calls.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on why the garbage collector might not be able to reclaim view scoped objects after they are removed from the session?
    Thanks in advance.
    P.S. I have already found VIEW SCOPE IS NOT RELEASING PROPERLY IN ADF which is a very closesly related thread, but unfortunately was not able to use the replies on there to resolve our issue. I've also posted this same question on Stack Overflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13380151/lifetime-of-view-scoped-objects-oracle-adf). I'll try and update both threads if I find a solution.

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for your very useful reply. I've managed to recreate the problem today by doing the following.
    1. Create pageOne.jspx and pageTwo.jspx
    2. Create PageOneBB.java and PageTwoBB.java
    3. Register PageOneBB.java and PageTwoBB.java in the adfc-config.xml as view scoped managed beans.
    Then after building and deploying out to my Weblogic server I continue by doing the following:
    4. Open pageOne.jspx in a browser. Observe the constructor of pageOneBB being called and the correct default text being shown in the box. [Optional] Set the text value to a new string and click on the button.
    5. Get redirected to pageTwo.jspx. Observe the constructor of pageTwoBB being called and the correct default text being shown in the box. [Optional] Set the value to a new string and click on the button.
    6. Monitor the Weblogic server using Oracle JRocket Mission Control. Observe the large lists of booleans being created as expected (5,000,000 per click!).
    7. Note that this number is never reduced - even though the old view scoped beans should have been released for garbage collection.
    8. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until I see the Weblogic server crash due to a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError.
    9. Wait for all of the sessions to expire. I've set my session expiry to be 180s for the purpose of this test.
    10. After 180s observe the finalize method being called on all of the backing bean objects and the heap usage drop significantly.
    11. The server works again but the problem has been demonstrated in a reproducible way.

  • "The document could not be opened. Bad file handle."  Error

    Greetings,
    I have many operators opening documentation using acrobat reader 8.1.2. When the documents are opened, sometimes a change has to be done to the file. I use computer management to "kick" everyone out of the files, update the .pdf, and then they can re-open the file to see the latest and greatest version. The problem is, if not everyone is out of the file, I sometimes get a ""The document could not be opened. Bad file handle." error, and have to usually wait a period of time before it will let anyone in. I think it has something to do with the windows temp files, but am unsure. It's hard to ensure everyone is out of the document on time, as up to 50 people may be in it at the same time.
    Is there perhaps a better way of publishing the new verison of the document?
    Thanks for any help you can provide!
