Oracle adf tutorials

Hi all i'm newbie in oracle adf framework and i'm interested to learn this technology, but i'm unable to find comprehensive tutorials to learn adf components.
It'ld be quite helpful if someone can tell me where to get best tutorials that includes sample applications .
Thanks in advance.

You can also refer to the following How-Tos:

and the following tutorials:

and the following online demos:

Hope this helps.

Can you be a little more specific about the error you are getting?

  • ERRORS in the Lab - Developer Day: Oracle ADF and Fusion Middleware Dev

I atteneded the Developer Day on Oracler ADF and Fusion Middleware Development on 11/19. I did the lab (following step by step instructions) and encountered the following errors:
    1) Export to Excel (Step 4, actions 5-9) - Got run-time 500 error when run app. I had to skip these steps to be able to continue with the lab.
    2) Click on Printable Page (Step 4, action 16) - I looks like it works, but nothing shown up on the browser or printing actually happened.
    3) Click on Create Insert (Step 4, action 26) - Got Java.Lang.NumberFormatException
    4) There is no lab for mobile application development. Where should I start? [getting mobile plug-in software, lab tutorials]
The instructor said that I could post any questions on the Forum. I hope that this is the correct Forum to post these types of questions. Thanks much in advance for your responses.

Perfect, I get the exact same page when I login, however, this page doesn't have any links to the actual sessions.  If I remember correctly, after logging in another window used to open in which we could select the session to play.
Please let me know how I can access the session from the page that is displayed after logging in.  Thank you for taking time to check, appreciate your help.

  • Oracle.adf.controller.activity.ActivityLogicException: ADFC-02013: Unable to get metadata for activity

    Hello,
I am new to ADF, I am trying to learn how to navigate from one page to another, the code that I have is simple, but it is not working, I specified the control flow rules in the adfc-config.xml and I even tried to specify the navigation rules in the faces-config.xml file, but it doesn't matter if I do it in one configuration file or another I get the same error.  This is my first time working with ADF, I don't have formal training, just some video tutorial that I have seen on internet.  I have previous experience with JSF, so I feel more comfortable writing the code for my program than using all the graphical tools (at least at this moment)
Any help to solve this problem will be highly appreciated.

User, tell us your jdev version, please!
    What is your goal?
What you have find had nothing to do with ADF. If you ent to learn adf then I recommend to work through find of the tutorials available on the jdev home page.
If adf is not your goal, you might want to use Trinidad and ask your question in their forum.
You might not like the declarative approach adf uses, but if you want to learn how to use adf, you have to understand how ADF works. Most can be done using java, but one you understand the framework you see the advantage.

  • Who will give the completed information for Oracle ADF

    Hi All,
Oracle ADF is a good and effective product, which simpifies the development work and reusabilties.
Lot of components are avilable in ADF.for example,Carousel component is a nice component. But I cant get the proper solution for my problem
One minute listen,Have anyone heard about OHW(Oracle Help for Web), It is a nice concept for developing the context sensitive help system. If none know how to use it means why such a nice concept developed.Who will give information for this.
There are lot of resources for other frameworks,But why not for ADF.
Hello ADF Experts, Please write all your techniques in the blog and publish your blog links in the forums atleast as new thread Oracle blogs.

Felix - there are lots of blogs about ADF out there.
If you visit the JDeveloper page on OTN:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/overview/index.html
You'll see at the bottom an RSS feed of those blogs.
There are also a lot of how-tos, books, samples, best practices and tutorials - they are all linked from the above page.
If there is something specific you are looking for then let us know.

  • Oracle ADF- 4GL or J2EE or Flex

    Hello,
I would like to know which of these are used more across in terms of getting job and better to develop?
    Oracle ADF - 4GL or J2EE Developers
Any comment on this is highly appreciable.
    Thanks

I don't think there is any matrix that compares TopLink and ADF BC on performance.
With TopLink you are working with POJO so the functionality you build into them is what you get.
With ADF BC you are inheriting classes from Oracle that already have a lot of built-in functionality implemented (Such as query by example on any field, declarative transaction management, easy validation creation and more) - so you end up coding less than TopLink/pure POJO.
In terms of UI - I don't think Flex is dominating anything - it has its own share of problems such as performance, scalability and others.
You should take a look at the ADF Faces Rich Client Components that are coming with JDeveloper 11 if you want more interactive and dynamic UI.
There are various demos and tutorials here:

  • ADF Tutorials: Edit/Search Page

    Hi,
I am new to ADF and started to look through the ADF Tutorials. Most ADF Tutorials have seperate pages for viewing, editing and searching. In Oracle Forms all three features were usually possible in one form. So why are they seperated in ADF?
    Thanks,
    Peter

You can actually get a page that does all three quite simply.
Drag a view object from the data control palette to your page and drop as an ADF Form.
The drag the operations Create, Find, Execute and Delete that are under the VO in the data control palette onto the page as buttons - and now run the page.

  • Oracle/adf/view/rich/model/AsyncFetch Error in DVT

    Experts,
We have some DVT components in our application which runs perfectly on integrated local Weblogic Sever. Once we deploy it to a Weblogic Standalone server, we are getttnig the following error while trying to access the DVT graph page. Rest of the application is working properly.
    Error : oracle/adf/view/rich/model/AsyncFetch
    followed by ADF Faces 60097
    Jdev 11.1.1.5 and WLS 10.3.5
    thnks

Solution : Go to EAR Deployment Profile Properties -> File Groups -> Application Libraries ->Filters and here you have to remove the libraries that are ADF DVT.
