  • Launch Supply Chain Plan

    Hi All:
I am using Advanced Supply Chain Planning tool in conjunction with Oracle Process Manufacturing for material & resource level planning. As part of the process I did all the needed setups and got to the point of Running the Supply Chain Planning Process. However After I launch the process, the parent process has triggered a bunch of child concurrent requests in the background. And I have been stuck with the concurrent requests running forever in the last 8 hours without completion. The status is "normal" and "running" for all concurrent requests..
    Navigation:
    Advanced Supply Chain Planner
Navigate: Supply Chain Plan - Workbench
    Any idea why ?

    Hi,
for what I saw many reasons can cause this kind of stuck.
    1) Check if there are some locks on the MSC tables, maybe is the reason why it does not go through.
Usually the concurrent (I suppose you are stuck at the memory based snapshot) creates a BIG log file. Check if the log file goes on.
    2) Once the Snapshot was incredibly slow due to some loop in the BOM. Since you are working on process manufacturing the loop should be in the recipe. You should see if there is a loop in the log.
    3) Stop the concurrent if he goes beyond any acceptable time and try to create a very small plan, with just few item, a week of planning time and one demand. Try to use some dummy supersimple data. If the plan goes fine it means that probably you have some issues on the data you feed the system. (i.e. Loop or too much things).
    4) I am not sure if this apply but maybe you have some sort of limitation on the maximum number of concurrent that can run simultaneously. We had something similar and if I well remember some concurrents where waiting for other to finish but the others could not start do to a limitation on the maximum concurrent. (check in sysadmin for this).
    Hope it helps

  • Mobile supply chain planning

Where can i get details about oracle mobile supply chain planning?
    Thanks in advance.
    G.R.RAMESH

    Dear Amr,
When dealing with Oracle concerning the planing process, we can use one of the following methods:
1- Traditional Planning (Forecast>MDS>MPS>MRP); this is the favor method when you have one organization setup in the system.
2- Oracle Supply Chain Planning method; this is used if you have more than one organization setup in the system; i.e. if you have distribution inventory organization, raw material inventory organization, and finished good inventory organization separates from each others.
    3- Advanced Supply Chain Planning.
My question is how to setup the second type (Supply Chain Planning)? , any body has an idea?

  • Supply Chain Planning

    Dears,
Any one has any document; rather than Oracle official docs, dealing with the supply chain planning not the traditional planning.
I deal with a situation, that is implementing oracle for an organization that has three separate inventory organizations; one for raw material, one for finished products and the last one is for the scrap.
From my own point of view the suitable implementation is use the supply chain planning. Please advice?

  • Oracle Mobile Supply Chain r12.1

    Hello,
First time in life, I am configuring Mobile Supply chain for my site. I am following document from this link:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e13467/T258138T411019.htmYou will notice that under "MWA Server Setup" section, it outlines following steps
    MWA Configuration File: Configure mwa.cfg
The following procedure lists the steps necessary to configure the mwa.cfg file.
Locate the mwa.cfg file in the $INST_TOP/admin/install directory.
Copy the file Mwa_template.cfg to the file mwa.cfg
Edit the mwa.cfg file and configure following parameters
*Set mwa.DbcFolder=full directory of folder containing the .dbc file ending with “/”.*
    *Set mwa.DbcFile=dbc file name*
Set mwa.logdir=full directory of log file
    Set mwa.TelnetPortNumber=default port#
    Setmwa.DropConnectionTimeout= no. of minutes
    Set mwa.StaleSessionTimeout= no. of minutes
Set mwa.LogLevel=error or traceTake a look at the bold highlighted steps:
Set mwa.DbcFolder=full directory of folder containing the .dbc file ending with “/”.
    Set mwa.DbcFile=dbc file name
    My question is:
where do I get these DBC files from and what is the location for the same?
    Please advise
    Darsh

where do I get these DBC files from and what is the location for the same? It's under $FND_SECURE directory -- Login as applmgr user on the application tier node, source the application env file and you should find the dbc file under $FND_SECURE directory.

  • Launch Supply Chain Planning Process - Significance of Anchor Date

While Launching plan, there is a parameter Anchor date. It defaults to current. We can change this to any past date. What is the significance of this?
Our client has a requirement - They want to see the forecast demand for current month (though today's date is 6th Mar, they want to see from 1st Mar). I tried changing Anchor date to 01-Mar. This did not pull past data.
Past forecast is pulled only when I change "Past Due Forecast Days" in ASCP Parameters.
Can some one exaplain what change is supply/demand we can see by changing anchor date?
    Thanks,
    Anitha.

  • Fixed Days Supply , Oracle E-Business Suite Planning

    Dear Sir/Madam,
With regard to using fixed days supply on item attribute level, we are not yet sure what the effect is on the planning.
We know that demand over a certain period of time (FDS) will be aggegrated to one orderline.
However, if in week 10, demand has been aggegrated for let say quantity 10, and during that week (and thus in the weekly MRP RUN), additional demand of 2 in that same timeframe is needed.
Will Oracle include that extra demand and make one orderline for 12?
We currently think that FDS frames are frozen after one MRP Run. is this true, and can this be ignored?
    What I mean is:
For item XB we have the following planned orders
    -5 need by date 10-03-2015
    -7 Need by date 10-06-2015
    -10 need by date 10-08-2015
If we set FDS to 365 days, for item XB, Oracle will aggregate total demand of 22 in one orderline.
But what happens if suddenly a new planned order enters O_MRP
    3 need by date 08-08-2015?
Will the planning , unless we haven't released the orderline of 22, make a new orderline for 25 units for need by date 10-03? We currently think it generates a rush order.
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi All,
I work as demand planner(supply chain) and my company use oracle.
I would like to know would above course would help me to do my job better ?
    The short answer is probably.
    The long answer:
    - You have mentioned a certification and then referred to it as a "course".
    - To achieve certification you need to pass two exams: (Ref: Oracle EBS R12 Advanced Supply Chain Planning Certified Expert Consultant )
    - Associated training courses are recommended ... though not mandatory in this case ( See recommended training on exams from the above link).
    - It is almost certain that whatever training one undertakes that should increase knowledge ... and if job relevant it should help you get your job.
    - You will need to look at exam topics (or training course topics) and make a self assessment of how much you stand to gain; and how much it will gain it in future.
---- You should know more about yourself than anyone else, and if you are honest with yourself should be able to work out your own cost/risk/benefit.
------ Remember cost may not only be monetary ... it may be time you could have spent doing something else ... perhaps with your family.

  • Supply Chain Planner Work Bench: Dependent Demand Quantity in Horizontal Pl

    Hi,
Does any one have idea on how to calculate 'Dependent Demand Quantity' in Supply Chain Planner's work bench.
    (in Horizontal Plan)
This is dependent (component)demand quantity amount for a given item(Finished good or Assembly).
    Navigation:
    Application: Advanced Supply Chain Planner
Supply Chain: Supply Chain work Bench (select this)
    (select org)
Plan--> (select any plan)--->current recommendations-->(select org again)-->select item --> select horizontal plan in right side screen-->then u see Dependent Quantity.
I need the formulate to calculate this.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth Ramaraju

Dependendent Demand for a component can represent the Discrete Job Demand and Planned Order demand (from the parent). If the component's final assembly has a discrete that is open and any planned orders against it, all of this demand is summed up in dependent demand at the component level. You can see the detail once you query the supply/demand from the workbench for the item prior to going to the horizontal plan.
    hope this helps!

  • Mobile Supply Chain

    hello
    This is on r12.1.3
We are in the process of implementing Mobile Supply Chain applications.
And for that we need to procure hand held scanners. Question is, which ones?
Does Oracle recommend any specific  brand for handheld scanners that are optimized or set as standard for MSCA?   We are leaning towards Honeywell as they are traditionally known to work with Oracle products, but open to new suggestions (if any).   If you can refer a link or white paper from Oracle, it will help.

  • Modules for a Supply chain Execution Consultant.

    Hi Friends,
I had a few questions in my mind. I'm sure that I can get the best answers here. So here goes.
    1. What are the modules that a consultant should know to call themselves Supply Chain Execution Consultants and Supply Chain Planning Consultants ?
    2. Which modules are
        a. Must know.
        b. Good to know
        c. which modules should have a knowledge of without having to make a total change in your career.
    2. What are the qualities that makes you more valuable as a consultant ?
All these with respect to Supply Chain Planning. (I know that it differs on different domains).
I'm looking forward to your answers.
    Regards,
    Ranjini.

    Hi Ranjini,
The below are answers to your queries.
    1. What are the modules that a consultant should know to call themselves Supply Chain Execution Consultants and Supply Chain Planning Consultants ?
For Supply Chain execution level, a consultant must have basic knowledge on SAP-QM & SD modules and working knowledge on SAP-PP and SAP-MM modules.  For a supply chain planning consultant, depending on the work experience and interest point of view, a consultant can choose DP for demand level knowledge(marketing), SNP for Supply level knowledge(Procurement & distribution) and PPDS for production level knowledge(Manufacturing), GATP (sales).
    2. Which modules are
    a. Must know.
    SNP
    b. Good to know
    DP
    c. which modules should have a knowledge of without having to make a total change in your career.

    3. What are the qualities that makes you more valuable as a consultant ?
    i) Deep understanding of both the topic and business and then solutioning by satisfying both system requirement and business requirement
    ii) New creativities
iii) Continuous improvement & knowledge in other areas.
