Oracle APEX 4.0 no images

Hello to everybody
after i have run @apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/ the Application will be opened but there are no images.
What is wrong? Need i copy something? Where is the directory /i/ ?
Regards,
bladepit

Hi,
you need to follow the installation instructions matching your environment.
e.g. if you install apex on Oracle XE you need to read the chapter regarding XE and embedded PL/SQL gateway.
There you'll see how to load/copy the images.

  • Getting error while importing the application in Oracle Apex

    Hi,
I am facing an issue while importing an application into my new Oracle Apex installation. Installation was successful with out any issue. I exported an application from my old Apex (version 3.0.0.00.20) and importing the same into new apex (version 3.0.1.00.08). I am getting the following error.
    ============================================================
The requested URL /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server.
    ============================================================
When I click on import in Application Builder page and then browse the required file it gives the progress saying "Importing File" and after some time it displays the above error.
I tried bouncing the application also and there is not error in alert log.
Could any one please suggest, if there is some problem here. Or my approach is not correct.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Advait Deo

Osacar, I recommend that you try to import the application into your workspace on apex.oracle.com and see what happens. Also, refine the problem statement as much as you can, e.g., you get this error importing "the application" or when importing "any" application. How big is the file you're trying to import? Where did it come from? Can you upload images?

  • Oracle APEX versus Adobe Flex on AIR

    Hi
I need advantages and disadvantages Oracle APEX versus Adobe Flex on AIR. I don't know Adobe and need your help. (we fight about our potential customer).
    Project:
40 users insert own actvities into database. Supervisor analyse this info (reports, charts). Users connect to app via mobile phone EDGE using laptop.
    Regards

    Hello again,
From the end-user perspective, FLEX applicatoins are more graphic in nature, in that they are truly graphic. APEX (at least through 3.2) generates a standard HTML type of web page. You can do graphics type of code, but Flex creates applications that will only run with Adobe tools. Flex generates an HTML page, but it calls a .swf file and plays that.
Unless it is critical that you have that fully graphic interface (a .swf file type of image that plays), standard HTML is much better. You can still generate graphs, charts and such; incorporate images in your page and all the things that standard web pages have.
With APEX, your users will see a standard HTML web-page type of interface, which most users today know how to use and expect.
    Thanks,
    Don.

  • Hi All ,need ideas on using oracle apex maps...

    Hi All,
I need a map on country like trinidad and Tobago and jamaica together how do I accomplish that...using the current oracle apex..
I couldnt find country tobaga and Trinidad listed there
Thanks any guidance shall be appreciated..
    Paul j

    Hi Paul,
There actually isn't a country map for Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the suite of AnyChart maps that we integrate into Application Express. Your easiest option is to use either the World, Americas or North America map - either of these will allow you to represent Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago on a map, and associate data with it. I've used the Americas map as an example here: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:89.
I appreciate that this isn't ideal if you wish to represent these locations on their respective country maps, but it might be a possible workaround for you. Alternatively, you would need to source your own Shapefiles for these countries, and use the AnyChart Flash Map Converter utility - http://anychart.com/products/anymap/converter/ - to convert your Shapefile into a .amap file. That .amap file would then need to be incorporated in your APEX /images directory, and its information would then need to be referenced in your map SQL query in order to associate data with the new maps. For further information on the Converter utility, or indeed on the AnyChart maps, please refer to the AnyChart site: http://anychart.com/products/anymap/docs/.

As Sybrand said - not the correct forum.
But to point you in a direction - you also need the image directory (containing Apex 4 images, stylesheets and javascript) installed and configured.
Without that, Apex will not work.
When you installed/upgraded Apex, you specified an image URL. The default is +/i/+. This URL needs to serve the image directory of Apex 4 (this ships with the Apex 4 zip).
If you EPG, then you need to load the contents of this image dir into Oracle XDB (the XML database component of your Oracle instance). If you use Apache (aka Oracle's http application server), you need to copy this to the Apache document root and update the dads.conf file with an alias entry that provides the +/i/+ alias and points to the local physical directory containing the image contents.

  • Installing Oracle Apex in a PDB

    Hi Guys,
I just want to know when you install Apex in a PDB does the CDB and PDB have to have the same port number in order to access the Apex Admin page.
I have the following set up:
PDB1   Port - 5502   (With successful Apex install)
    CDB     Port - 8080
I am still unable to access the Apex Admin page via a browser.
Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you kindly

No, if you have installed Oracle APEX in PDB there is no need to have HTTP port set in CDB$ROOT. In fact, I have XDB HTTP Port set to 0 in CDB$ROOT and have XDB HTTP port 8080 set for PDB1.
Regarding not able to access APEX admin page via browser:
Do you get blank pages when you try to access APEX:
         http://localhost:5502/apex
         http://localhost:5502/apex/apex_admin
If yes this is the problem of images not loaded properly to XDB. You have to re-run the apex_epg_config.sql with correct path for images.
Refer : Re: apex 5.0 with xe 11g problem "Configuring Static File Support"
Also check whether 5502 or any other port you set for XDB is free on your OS.
Also check whether the database is up and the PDB is up and is in READ WRITE state.
Refer : ORACLE-BASE - Multitenant : Startup and Shutdown Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB) in Oracle Datab…
Also check that the database listener is up and running.
         Hope this helps!

  • Need integration steps of Anychart with Oracle Apex

    Hi,
We bought Anychart license. When I logged into AnyAchrt there are .zip, .exe and .swf file can be downloaded.
Please let me know which file from any chart that I need use to integrate with Apex 4.x version.
Also please let me know step by step process to see final effect of any chart in oracle apex.
    Regards.
    Meda

    Hi Meda,
AnyChart has been integrated with Oracle Application Express since our 3.0 release. With our latest release, 4.2.1, we have integrated the latest AnyChart 6 release, version 6.0.11, which supports the creation of Flash and HTML5 charts in your APEX applications. Only chart types exposed via the Create wizards in Application Builder can be created using the version of AnyChart that is shipped with APEX. If you wish to create other chart types that aren't available in the Create wizards, then you would need to use your own AnyChart files. I assume the reason you have purchased a separate AnyChart license in is order to create other chart types that we don't license. How you choose to integrate those libraries into your release is up to you. You might find it useful to refer to AnyChart's online documentation for further information on installation: http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/Installation.html?fromtree.
What chart types does your license with AnyChart cover? There's no need to provide an exhaustive list, but I'm just trying to establish whether your license covers all the chart types that our license already covers. The AnyChart files that are shipped with APEX are used by the Create wizards, Interactive Report charts and internal application chart pages. The related files are contained in the +/images/flashchart/anychart_6+ folder of your APEX install. Your easiest option for integrating your AnyChart files is to overwrite the files that are shipped with the product. ** However, please be aware of the possible impacts of doing this. **
*1)* As I've already mentioned, those files are used not only by the Create wizards, but also Interactive Report charts and chart pages within Application Builder, etc. So if your license does not cover the same chart types and options as those shipped with APEX, then you will experience issues using the Create Chart wizards, Interactive Report charts and chart pages in your instance.
*2)* If you do choose to overwrite the files shipped with APEX, then you are essentially modifying the APEX install and will need to interact with AnyChart regarding any issues you experience with the chart files you have licensed.
*3)* The Create wizards in APEX only expose the chart types covered by our license agreement with AnyChart, so even if your licensed files support additional chart types, they will not be exposed via the Create wizards, and those wizards could not be used to create additional chart types.
You could, of course, choose to retain the chart files incorporated in your APEX instance, and simply add your own AnyChart files to the +/images+ folder of your APEX instance and then directly reference the files in your code to embed a chart on a page in your application. For an example, take a look at the AnyChart online User's Guide, specifically "Your First Chart" - http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/SimpleChart.html?fromtree - NOTE: in the sample code on that page, the paths to the AnyChart files have not been fully qualified e.g. './swf/AnyChart.swf'. You would need to ensure that you fully qualify the path to your files.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Hilary

  • Ora-06502 pl/sql numeric or value error in Report Query in oracle apex

    Hello all,
    I need your help...
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
I am using bi publisher to generate PDF reports in oracle apex.
We were using APEX 4.0 and migrated to 4.2 just a week ago.
    Now we have apex 4.2.
When I try to Create report query,
Shared Components >> Report Queries then create.
and test a report in a create wizard I am getting a error "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small".
    I have also applied a patch "16760897".
This issue is because of number of columns in a query is more then 26.
If I run a report with 26 or less number of columns then the is working fine, otherwise getting this error.
My before migration report queries working perfectly even now, but not new queries.
This issue is also in apex.oracle.com.
    You can see
    Not working  - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=619:4

  • How to pass a value to a bind variable in a query report in oracle apex

    Hi Guys,
I have requirement to send weekly reports via email to some users. The users should receive their own records in the report. The user details is stored in a table. What I am planning to do is to create a report query in oracle apex to generate the report and then run a function/procedure via a scheduler to email the report to respective users. Now my query is ............. is it possible to pass a value (user name) to the report query to pull records of only that user? I know we can have bind variables in the report query but I have no idea how to pass a value for bind variables from a function/procedure.
Can anyone help me on this issue or suggest a better approach?

Are you getting an error? The way you have it set up, you can have an error and it will never be displayed. Put and error control on your front panel and see what it gives you. Also, shared variables in a project can be useful. Look at some examples for that.
