Oracle Applications deployed as ASP (Application Service Providers)

I heard there is a way to access Oracle Application from ASP's? Is this true? Where can I get more infomration about it?
Do we know how are they hosting? Citrix Vs Developer Server??
Any information is helpful.
Thanks

Have you looked at Oracle Business OnLine, Oracle's own ASP?

  • Script Start/Stop Oracle Applications Services

    Hi
I am constructing some scripts to stop or start some Oracle Applications services (APP, Apache, DB, Construct Manager, discover, forms, etc)
I now that are some script in the folder \viscomn\admin\scripts\, but my questions are, what services must I stop/start first?? The APP?? Then the BD vision?? Then apache?? Or first BD, discover, apache, app, etc?
Please can anyone help on this? Tank you
    JailBreak

    Hi
    Tank you for your reply’s.
Yes i will use the Oracle scripts to stop and start services.
But when the Network Administrator shutdown the server, he must shut down some services, and I will include this scripts in the main script. But my dough was what services will stop first.
The IAS services don’t need to be started?? My IAS service are all stopped and if I start Apache Server Service first, the IAS HTTP Server service don’t start. I must start IAS HTTP Server first, then start apache server. IF not give an error and the service don’t start. But then after the Apache Server will stop by itself.
And some times the Oracle script doesn’t start the Concurrent Manager Service. I must start it manually.
My services that are started are:
    Oracle Apache Server
    Oracle Fulfiment Server
    Oracle Metrics Server
    Oracle Metrics Client
    Oracle Reports Server
    Oracle Concrrent Manager
    Oracle Discover Server
    Oracle Forms Server
Oracle OracleVIS_db920_RDBMSTNSListenerVIS(from the OracleVIS_db920_RDBMSTNS this is the only service that are started, the others are stopped. Is this correct?)
    Oracle OracleVISOra806_2TNSListener80APPS_VIS
This is all the services that are started.
But I have a problem in my discover. When I login to the applications as a user, and pick some options (that will open discover) it gives me one error.
Locator unable to start session altranitsgp.altranit.pt_8000OracleDiscovererSession4. - Hint: An administrator can further diagnose connection problems by running the "checkdiscoverer" script under <ORACLE_HOME>/806/discwb4/util.
But I have started the Discover Server and tested, and all went ok. The problem is in the applications. I don’t know why.
Any one can give a hand on these issues?
    Tank in advance.

  • How to Start / Stop Oracle Applications

How to Start / Stop Oracle Applications.
Oracle Applications Services (TCF, ConcManagers, Metric, Forms, Reports etc...) TnsListner & Oracle Service (DB) are started when the Server is started.
What is the sequential Order to Start / Shutdown services, Listener & DB.
    Best regards,

    hi
there is no hard coded rule on which service should be started first.
the basic thing is concurrent manager uses database for starting, so i advice you the following sequence:
    1. start the database
    2. start the database listener
    3. Apache server
    4. forms server
    5. report server
    6. concurrent manager
and shutdown in the reverse order
    simple

  • Re: JDeveloper not showing database objects in"Oracle Applications"Adapter?

    Hi
I am trying to create a BPEL process through JDeveloper10.1.3.4 and using a Oracle Application Service. When using the Adapter Configuration wizard, i am successfully able to connect to the database but when there is an option to select the inteface to the Oracle Application Data for table/views/APIs/Concurrent Programs after clicking Next
I am getting an alert that says you are connected to 11.5.10 instance, Add the database objects.
After clicking in Add - Oracle Aplications Module Browser comes up with Blank values and nothing works here, neither Search nor Browse and just has a cancel button.
Please if some body has faced similar issue or has understanding on it, help me on this.
    Thanks

You'll have better luck posting in the right forum. This one is for issues relating to Oracle's ODBC driver.
I'm not familiar enough with JDEV to know which forum that is top of my head though.

  • Calcualte Oracle applications memory usage

Is there a way or does anyone have a script for oracle applications memory usage of a period of 30 days??

    Hi
By implementing the statspack you can get most of the statistics information including memory usage of apps instance with time intervals. Since there is no GUI performance analysis is complicated with statspack. If you are on 10g a new feature called AWR(automatic workload repository) which gives you statistics and metrics with html format report.
There are some tools to monitor the Oracle applications services like cpu , memory consumption... I prefer to go with your own customization scripts to monitor the instance.
You can get plenty of scripts in the net.
    http://www.orafaq.com/scripts/
I have little experience with bmcsoftware which monitors oracle Applicatons. But I am not sure whether it gives statistics for the timeperiod. See the below whitepaper of bmc.

  • How to deploy a web service on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2?

    Hi everyone,
I followed the instructions of the following link to create a web service using jDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. [http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/jdev/obe1013jdev/10131/devdepandmanagingws/devdepandmanagingws.htm#t1]
The web service created was deployed & used with no errors on the standalone OC4J instance.
But my goal is to deploy my web service on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2.
So after several attempts, I was able to deploy it on the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 but unfortunately I didn't know the URL needed to use the web service.
I tried the following link (http://192.168.0.91:18100/JavaWebService-GetDates-context-root/GetDatesWSSoapHttpPort) but also didn't work :(
I also tried converting to J2EE 1.3 and still not knowing how to access the web service.
    Please advice with a solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Lana

Thanks everyone for your help :)
The problem turned out to be that Oracle application server 10.1.2 is unlike the others servers, it uses 2 ports:
    - port (19100) is dedicated for the console.
    - port (7779) is to view your applications.
So the URL needed turned out to be "http://acteos-109.beirut.acteos:7779/beanTest" instead of "http://acteos-109.beirut.acteos:18100/beanTest"
    Hope this info is useful

  • Deploying Web services on Oracle Application Server

    Hi,
I am not sure whether this is the forum where I should post this question.
I am trying to deploy a webservice on Oracle iAS version1.0.0. But when I navigate to Oracle CRM Administrator(responsibility)-->Integration-->services I get a message telling that the server needs to be upgraded to version 1.0.2.2
I would like to know, from which version of Oracle Application server is the web services supported.
    Thanks in advance
    Pratheusha

Web Services are supported on IAS (OC4J) 9.0.4, 10.1.2 and 10.1.3. The 10.1.3 web services stack supports the JAX-RPC standard while prior versions supported a proprietary programming model.
What type of webservice are you trying to deploy?

  • Deploying Web services written in C to Oracle Application Server

    Hello,
Has anybody got information on deploying a web service written using C & gSoap into Oracle Application Server. I have a web service written in C using the example provided by gSoap and would like to deploy this on Oracle Application Server 10g, and am not sure on how to proceed further.
    Regards,
    Santhosh

    Hi San :)
I think you need to use mod_soap module in Oracle HTTP server. or you can compile gSOAP web service as CGI-based or FastCGI application and copy the executable to cgi-bin directory in OHS.
    Thanks

  • How to deploy the ASP application on Oracle AS

i want to know can we deploy the ASP Application on my ORACLE AS.

    Hi
This probably isn't the best forum to answer that question. I'd suggest you ask the J2EE forum OC4J
Also - do you mean JSP instead of ASP? You may want to clarify the question and add a bit more detail.
    Thanks
    John

  • Deploying Shared Services in Oracle Application Server

Has anyone deployed Shared Services (9.3.1) in Oracle Application Server? We are trying to deploy SS in Oracle Application Server and are not able to do it. Any suggestions?

I think SS work's only under Apache Tomcat
I was try deploy SS 9.2.1 and 9.3.1 on Oracle iAS and Weblogic 9.2.MP1
and have similar error.(- can't register planning application)
But Planning and EAS on Oralce and Weblogic works fine .
p.s. OiAS - it's closed product - use Weblogic for new ENV.
If you need detaled instruction for setup - please read documentation

  • Do you deploy WebForms as an Application service provider?

    Hi forum.
I'm creating this post to getter a clearing view of something, which I have been wondering about for quite some time. Simply put - who is your user audience for your deployed WebForms applications - is it only used internally in your own company, or do you offer your WebForms application to external users through a ASP-based subscription model? (Application Service Provider).
I work for an independent software vendor, whose primary business so far has been to sell and support Forms 6i-based business applications, that connect to locally installed Oracle7 instances. We have, however, mainly due to Oracle's desupport of the client/server runtime seen ourselves forced to rethink our business and migrate our app to the web ASP-wise, as I believe it is the case for a lot of users of this forum, not sure though.
This, however, has not been without problems. One problem, that has come in focus in particular, is the issues regarding supporting all the different versions of the Java runtime environment (JRE) out there. We can easily ask our customers to install a specific JRE version, say 1.4.2, but sooner or later, a newer version will appear on the customer's PC, most likely through the dreaded feature of the JRE called Java Update, and then customers run our application in an unsupported environment - like the newly released 1.6 version. This is also the reason, that I need to test new Java versions, before Oracle will do it "officially". Our application has PJC's, which depend on core Java libraries only found in JRE 1.4 or later, so using JInitiator is out of the question.
Internally in a company, versions of JRE and other Webforms runtime parameters can most likely be controlled by sysadmin tools, but this is by the very nature not possible in an ASP environment. I'm curious to see, how common ASP-based WebForms actually is - let me hear about your real-world experiences please.

That is the login into the router itself. Most routers, in order to set them up the first time or after a reset or power fail, have this login procedure. You connect to the router login and configure the settings for your use.
Is this a new router or has it been recently reset in some way? As was written above if the router was provided by your isp then contact them for the setup procedures.
If the router is yours (or someone else's in your household) you need to look at the manual that came with it or go to manufactures website for instructions on how to set it up.
