Calculation Field to be mapped to different data object's column name in Oracle BAM 12c

Hi,
I am having a challenge to enable drill down to 2nd level report by passing calculation field as parameter.
As an alternative, I am thinking to point calculation field to another data object’s column name and generate report so that I would be able to pass that as parameter to drilling report view.
Is there any way to map calculation field to different Data object’s column name? Thanks in advance.

1. Yes, you can.
SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá number(10));
Table created.
SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values (10);
1 row created.1.1 and 1.2 and 2. You can choose UTF as your default character set. It allows the user of non-English characters in VARCHAR columns in your whole database. It is not per tablespace.
SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá varchar2(100));
Table created.
SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values ('âãäçìé');
1 row created.

Oracle BAM sample questions

I dont have much documentation about this tool, but I have some questions that I really need to adress for my project:
1. There is a way to connect Oracle BAM to a database and execute SQL to join tables and something like that? My BAM will directly conect to Oracle for dashboards and its really important.
2. How to link a report directly to browser without need of autentication? I need a sample URL for visualization and no need of session control because it will be used 24 hours opened in a monitor...

I'm following a guide to the integration between ODI & BAM, on page 18 refers to the KMs to import.
These KMs do not see available (either on the CD odi_companion).
You could say that KM are using and where did you get?

Oracle BAM Web Applications not supported by Firefox and Chrome browsers

1) To enable Oracle BAM in a BPM project, when a project data object is marked as a business indicator, the Process Engine stores
its value in the BAM and DataMart databases, as explained in the documentation. So, How can we use this information to monitor the process activity? Is there any detailed documentation or a sample?
2) Does Oracle BAM Web Applications still not supported by the browsers Firefox (3.5 and 3.6) and Google Chrome?

The business indicators can be used when creating your data objects in BAM Architect and BAM Active Studio.
The BAM tools still require Internet Explorer only.

According to your descryption, In windows 7, the tool is migwiz.exe, namely the Windows Easy Transfer, you can modify the registry in the way listed in the post below:

In Windows 8, Windows easy transfer is also a built in tool to migrate user profiles and user settings, but as for the offline transfer, I suggest to use the USMT for your situation.
Because with USMT you can specify the folder that you want to migrate the files to, by using an offline.xml you can set the path just as the sample listed below:

Error in Starting Oracle BAM Active Data Cache

I am not able to start "Oracle BAM Active Data Cache" on my machine.
The other two components "Oracle BAM Event Engine" and "Oracle BAM Report Cache" are starting properly.
When I see the event log file of my Computer I could see the details as below:

Oracle BAM : Tabs are not getting displayed

Hi
Just started working in Oracle BAM. I opened exisiting reports that came with the installation. Now when I click on Edit View -> "Data" button in the "View" Editor of an existing report ; the following tabs shld be displayed as per the BAM user guide : DataObjects, Fields, Filter, Drilling ...etc .
But none of the tabs are comming in the browser. In fact 7 empty tabs are dispalyed and are disabled.
When I click on "Properties" in the "View" editor ; all the tabs are comming and I can click on the tabs and edit the properties. But the tabs under "Data" option is not working.
I have deployed SOA suite 11.1.1.3 on wls 10.1.3. I am using IE 7. Any pointers will be helpful!!

Unable to create Oracle BAM Sinks in Design Studio on Windows XP Profession

I am unable to create any Oracle BAM Sink in Design Studio. I am getting this error, when trying to drag BAM Sink to my plan:
Failed to create the Transform COM object.
[Oracle BAM Enterprise Link error code: DC -- 0x1, DC -- 0x5B]
Problem in step "Untitled, created 13. 11. 2007 16:39:07".
[Oracle BAM Enterprise Link error code: PlanMgr -- 0x2, PlanMgr -- 0x32]
Error while preparing the Plan for execution.
[Oracle BAM Enterprise Link error code: PlanMgr -- 0x1, PlanMgr -- 0x11]
The Design Studio is installed on notebook with Windows XP Professional SP2.
On the W2K server with Data Flow Service installed it seems to be OK.

Checked the file its exists and had correct server name and port and transport

ok - I think I've got it figured. Appears to be a known issue. You need to apply patch p17073913_121200.
I downloaded that and applied to my Linux version - then re-ran the UA. This time the GUI started and so now I'm going through the upgrade steps.
The patch is generic, so should work for your windows environment too. Good luck.

How to Create an Oracle BAM Server Connection?

I m following the steps at the end of this post to create the connection but at the end I m getting this message from JDev:

/C:/JDeveloper/mywork/Application1/.adf/META-INF/connections.xml
because it is a read-only. Either make it writable or allow it to be made writable through source control.}
it creates the directory C:/JDeveloper/mywork/Application1/.adf/META-INF/ with only a adf-config.xml file but NOT the connections.xml any one knows what is wrong?
Bellow is the stpes I m following. Its exactly what is written at the Oracle Fusion Middleware Developer´s guide for Oracle SOA Suite 11g Release 1(11.1.1) E10224-01
To create an Oracle BAM connection:
1. Select New from the File main menu in Oracle JDeveloper.
The New Gallery dialog opens.
2. Choose Connections from the General category.
3. Select BAM Connection in the Items list, and click OK.
The BAM Connection wizard opens.
4. Provide a name for the connection. Leave the Create Connection In selection as
Application Resources.
5. Click Next.
6. Enter the following connection information about the Oracle BAM instance.
7. Click Next.
8. Test the connection by clicking Test Connection. If the connection was successful,
the following message appears:
Passed.
9. Click Finish.
Note: You can create connections to Oracle BAM in the Oracle
JDeveloper Resource Palette as well as the Application Resources
panel of a specific application. It is recommended that you create these
connections in the Application Resources pane rather than the
Resource Palette.
Field Description
BAM Web Host Enter the name of the host on which the BAM report server and
Web server are installed. In most cases, the BAM Web host and
Oracle BAM Server host are the same.
BAM Server Host Enter the name of the host on which the Oracle BAM Server is
installed.
User Name Enter the Oracle BAM Server user name (typically bamadmin).
Password Enter the password of the user name.
HTTP Port Enter the port number or accept the default value of 8888. This is
the HTTP port for the BAM Web host.
RMI Port Enter the port number or accept the default value of 9085. The
RMI port is for the BAM report cache, which is part of the Oracle
BAM Server.
Use HTTPS Select this check box if you want to use secure HTTP (HTTPS) to
connect to the Oracle BAM Server during design time.
Otherwise, HTTP is used.

Ok that will be nice, but is not the case I dont want to read the tutorial, the problem is I already start to read and execute the tutorial you told me the problem is this tutorial it doesnt show how to do everything from scratch because you already have inside the zip file everything like xmls etc etc, and I want to get my DO and create the process myself, I dont want to get something that it is already done, this tutorial does not show for example how to create this composite.xml, this file it is already inside the zip file, so this way I just follow half of the process and dont learn how to make the whole process.

i need the one report in oracle bam, My report requirement is show the employee name and employee name count from employee data object.
below i have mentioned the format of report,
Example :
Employee_name Employee_name_count
Ravi 25
Ragul 50
Ramesh 100
Siva 75
<null> 50 -----> incase have the null value in employee name column,
need to disply null count also
total 300
Notes:
i) Column heading is important
ii) Need to display the employee name and employee name count (same column used to display)
iii) Null count also important.
iv) total count also important
So kindly tell me which report format or chart format sutiable for this above scenario.

You can use Summary crosstab view of BAM for your requirement.
Here are the steps that -
1) I am assming a data object with two fields -
name count
pravin 25
pravin1 50
null 20
2) In BAM ActiveStudio web apps, create a new report, selected Summary crosstab view type.
3) In View editor, select the data object created in step 1
4) In Choose Fields step, select the rows (here name )and values (here count)
5) In Summary step, select teh Values as count, summary function as Sum
6) Next and Finish.

For 11.1.1.7.1 use the syntax for jdbc_sid, i.e.

In my case the Glassfish 3.1.2.2 JDBC connection pool definition was
Property

Uncheck the Wrap JDBC Objects option in Advanced panel, i.e. the Edit JDBC Connection Pool Advanced properties page.
Add a JDBC resource for that newly created pool
Use that in mapviewerconfig.xml as above
