Oracle installation from local machine

Hi ,
I plan to install oracle 10G R2 in AIX 5.2 server.
Server is located in different location. I want to install from my local machine running in windows.
I used to connect thru SSh or putty to connect server..
Can anyone tell which software to install to get Oracle Universal installer window when i run ./runInstaller.?

Download/save oracle binaries on vm machine

I downloaded 11g binaries on my windows desktop, how to move them on my vm machine(linux) which also resides on same desktop? or any other workaround to mv to linux machine, so that i can run oui on linux?

Here is the solution.
1. Use WinSCP tool ( download from google)
This is a windows tool and you can connect to vm linux and you just drag and drop it.
2. using FTP you can place the dump on any other machine and login in to linux and FTP the same.

The OraOledb.Oracle is not registered on the local machine.

Hi Everyone,
I am having Windows XP operating system with Service pack 2 on my computer. I also using Microsoft.Net 2003 & Oracle 9.x for creating a client-server Application. I installed the Oracle provider from OraWin9204.exe which i was downloaded from the Oracle's site. But I am getting the above mentioned problem "The OraOledb.Oracle is not registered on the local machine", while i m executing the open method of the Connection object of ADO.NET. I also checked the permission on ora92 (ORACLE HOME DIRECTORY) folder and gave full control to my username. But the problem remains same.
Can anybody have any idea? Please help me on [email protected]

I am having my oracle 11g 64 bit database in RHEL linux 64 bit server. My Visual Studio .Net 2008 64 bit application is running in server having Windows server 2008 64 bit OS and oracle 11.2.0.2.0 client 64 bit.
When I try to connect the database through the oracle client its working fine and I am able to connect through the development mode of visual studio 2008. But when I try to run in the IIS the following error is coming:
The 'ORAOLEDB.ORACLE' provider is not registered on the local machine.

This is not an Oracle database problem, never mind a database server language (PL/SQL or SQL) problem.
The problem you've described is with a Microsoft product, Visual Studio 2008. The server you refer to is Microsoft IIS. The error you list is an error with a Microsoft proprietary technology called OLEDB (part of Microsoft's <i>Component Object Model</i>).
Just where does Oracle PL/SQL and SQL languages, the subject matter of this forum, feature in your problem with Microsoft proprietary technology?

Deploy Oracle OAF Page to local Machine

I deploy oracle standard OAF page from local machine JDeveloper 9i.I copy files from server ar folder from $COMMAN TOP and copy another MDS folder from $APPLTOP and moved local machine jDeveloper\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\.I create workspace and the files and run the ARI_INVOICE_PAYMENT_PAGE.XML error message displayed.
ERROR:

It appears that the JDEV_USER_HOME environment variable path and where the files are stored do not match up. I generally keep all files whether they are Oracle files (in the oracle folder) under my projects or custom files (in the custom folder) in the "Home" directory on my local machine.

Uploading a file from user's local machine and put it in oracle table

Have a look at attachments API, since this also does the same thing except that it puts the file in fnd_lobs instead of the custom table.

Error while deploying ear using Oracle weblogic 11g in local machine

Hi,
Initially I installed Jdeveloper along with Weblogic and got the below error while deploying. Later I uninstalled Jdeveloper and weblogic, etc and installed a new weblogic on my local machine and tried to deploy ear. But still got the same error. With the same installable file and same ear, we could deploy successfully on my colleagues' machine. Any idea?.

In OBIEE 11g How to Change Import Type Local Machine to Remote Machine

I Have Installed OBIEE 11g Client tools in my Machine and server is in Other Server.when i tried to Import metadata i am getting Connection Falied error.
When i tried to import metadata in import type option i can see only one option Local Machine that is also in Disable mode.
how to make import type option to Remote.

In BI EE 10g, there was no Oracle Client bundled along with BI EE. So, BI EE will use your Oracle DB Home client to connect to the database. So, when you try to connect to the database through the Repository or BI Server, it will try to find the tnsnames entry in the Oracle Client of BI EE 11g instead of your database. There are 2 options to work around this
Copy your tnsnames.ora and Paste it to
1. Drive:Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1}network\admin
2 Drive:Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\network\admin
TNS File like,

(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Your Server IP)(PORT = 1521))

How to update a BLOB column in a table with a file in local machine?

I have a file (of XML type) in my local machine. I want to update it in a BLOB column of a table in databse server. Can anyone help me in this regard. Appreciate your help.

You cannot expect the server to hack into your PC and lift that data in the file from your disk. Not that is not technically possible. You can wire rockets onto a bicycle to make it go faster, but that's not a wise thing to do. Similarly, it is not a bright idea to ignore the very basics of client-server.
Bottom line - you need client s/w on your PC to load the content of that file into Oracle. It can be done using SQL*Loader as already suggested. It can be done using a web browser (submitting it via HTTP to web-enabled PL/SQL code). You can use FTP or WebDav and upload into Oracle's XDB (XML database).
Your requirements will determine what client to use. Once off load? SQL*Loader is very easy to use for loading XML files into the database.

Creating flat file in local machine

Gurus,
My database is OLAP database, i need to extract the data into flat file (.csv/.txt/.xls) in to client machine (Local machine, or End user PC) not in to Oracle DB Server.
Is it possible to achieve the same without using UTL_FILE?
If so please help me in this regard.
