Oracle Business Accelerators leaving some values blank??

Hi
When answering the quesions in the configuration tool, can we leave some of the questions with defaults as is and then change them later on in OBAs?

Filter issue in MDX query leaving some values empty!

Hi all,
In short: I have a report with multiple values such as name of shop, postal code etc. The parameters have no default value and act as "like". If someone enters "krant" he'll get all the shop names that contain "krant" in their
name etc.
Same goes for postal code, if someone enters 2550 he'll get all data for 2550. The problem although is that if a user start with postal code as parameters and leaves the shop name empty, the shop name is not shown in my report! The other way around it works,
when I enter shop name i'll get all shops + postal code in my report.
I know this is because POS name cannot be shown in report because it's left blank, but I want my MDX query to be able to give me the POS names even if I only enter postal code.
Can someone please please look at my query below? I need to add 4 more parameters this way later on too!

Have you create the parameters in the MDX Query Designer? I haved tested it on my local environment (Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3401.0 (X64) Enterprise Edition (64-bit)), we cannot reproduce this issue.

Oracle Business Intelligence - Past Due Schedule Value Aging report

Hi,
I am a beginner in Oracle Business Intelligence. There is an issue with 'Past Due Schedule Value Aging' report
[this report displays order lines that are booked, but not yet fulfilled, and the date past the schedule ship date.].
Actually, the report is supposed to ignore the order lines that have been 'cancelled' (having a quantity of '0').
But, it is displaying the 'cancelled' lines as well.
I am supposed to analyze entire logic for 'Past Due Schedule Value Aging' report (Oracle Supply Chain - Release 12).
So, could anybody please provide the list of the steps to get the entire code? Also, please let me know if I am supposed
to install any specifc tool to look into the content of this report.

How to populate a text field by some value from table in Oracle seeded page through Personalization?

I have to populate Description field by default in AGIS page (Advanced Global Intercompany System).
Field Description:
messageTextInput: Description
VO: FunTrxHeaderVO
VO Attribute: Description
VO is entity based.
Now if the field is null then I have to populate this value by some value from table for selected batch_id.
Example:
(SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM fun_trx_batches WHERE batch_id =
211061)
Also, this value is being populated in the Batch Information region in the same page. So the problem is also be treated as to copy a value from one messageStyledText to messageTextInput in a same page.
Can this be done through personalization, w/o coding?
Please suggest if you any idea how to resolve..

Comparing two List values using Oracle Business Rules

Hi all,
i just need to know how to use the Oracle Business Rules to Compare 2 list types
say for example list1( 10,20,30,40) and List2(10,50,60). when i compare both the list using the business rules
the rule should return true if there is atleast one match..here 10.

Issue in ATG integration with Oracle Business Intelligence

I am setting Oracel Business Intelligence up for Oracle ATG 10.1.
I am using CRS application to populate data to Data warehouse schema. I can see all components like generating log files, loading log file in to database are working file. I can see data in DW schema. I am using completely ATG's default implementation; I have not made any customization so far.
Here is environment details:
OS : Windows 7 (64 bit)
ATG : 10.1
JBoss : jboss-eap-5.1
JDK : 1.6.0_25-b06

1.) DW schema in Oracle (‘Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production’).
2.) This is for every ATG's analysis. I have not authored anything custom.
I am sure connection information is correct in ATG.RPD file. I used to get different error like incorrect login or unable to connect if it was wrong and those are no more, So I
believe connection URL is correct. I am not sure if need disable/enable something or do some specific configuration in DB connection in ATG.RPD.

Why aren't you using por_custom_pkg.custom_validate_req_line to add extra validations.
Ensure that profile POR: Enable Requisition Line Customization is set to Yes if you were to use po_custom_pkg for Requisition line validations.
OAF calls por_custom_pkg at various points depending upon the values in Profile Options:-
POR: Enable Req Distribution Customization
POR: Enable Req Header Customization
POR: Enable Requisition Line Customization

Oracle Business Intelligence How to choose data set based on a condition

Hi,
I am using Oracle Business Intelligence for creating reports, i am facing a situation where i have two quries (data sets in BI), one to display a Failure message and other to fetch data from the table to be displayed in the report.
The problem is i am unable to choose which data set to run based on a condition. How to use a condition based on which the dataset will be run
For example : i will read a table column value if it is 'S' means success, then i have to run the dataset to fetch the data from the table.
If the column value has 'F' then i have to run the dataset which will display failure message
Please let me know if any of you have any idea on this

Hi Chinna,
You have to use some scripting as well as coding to perform the tasks listed by you. First of all make your form Dynamic, In your Adobe lifecycle Designer, open your form,
Goto, File --> Form Properties,
Goto the Defaults tab,
Select "Dynamic PDF" for the XDP Preview Format:
Click OK.
This setting will now allow dynamicity in your Form, when you view it in PDF Preview tab.
For Hiding/Unhiding the fields/SF, you can use the presence property and set it based on the conditions. like:
if (this.rawValue == null)
TextField1.presence = "hidden";
For your second task, you may map a method corresponding to onSubmit event of the IF and write the code to create the workflow and make RFC call here.
For third one, you need to convert the PDFObject from Binary context into a byte array and save it at appropriate location.

JHeadstart, Oracle Business Rules and BPEL Process Manager

Dear JHeadstart Team,
I have some questions regarding integration of JHeadstart and Oracle Business Rules and Oracle BPEL Process Manager. As a matter of fact I don't have any work expriences with these tools so my questions may not be good and precise.
1- Using a business rule engine can dramatically increase speed of development and ease of maintenance.I had a very good exprience in using JHeadstart and Headstart in the past but I wanted to know if it is possible to use Oracle Business Rules in conjunction with the JHeadstart ? If so, What steps should be taken? Is there any known issue about this integration? Does Oracle Business Rules have any interference with JHeadstart or it is only used in model layer during insert,update,delete?
2- Is it possible to develope a system based on oracle work flow engine (Oracle BPEL Process Manager) using JHeadstart ? If so, What steps should be taken and how the changes in the flow of work would by applyed in a system developed by JHeadstart. Is there any known issue about this integration?
Any help,link to documents or general guidelines would be highly appreciated.

Couple of things I would like to add, are the following.
In the context of an ADF application usage of Oracle Business Rules most likely is in the business logic layer, but mind that it does not need to be restricted to that.
Oracle Business Rules takes so called 'facts' as input, evaluates some rules based on that and change those facts or return some result. That might be checking a business rule as defined in the JHeadstart Developers Guide. But it might also return some value that is used in a navigation rule.
Think about a page flow where after page A normally page C is presentend, but in case of some situation (like a customer ordered something and you want to present some special offering based on that) you want page B presented in between (i.e. A -> B -> C). Oracle Rules could be used to determine this page flow. This would be an example of using it in the controller layer (probably in combination with using facts that come from the model layer).
Another remark that I would like to make, is that in my opinion it does not make much sense to use Oracle Rules for business rules that logically more or less are part of your data model (like end date must be on or after begin date). You typically use Oracle Rules to implement business rules that are of a volatile nature, meaning that day-to-day business may require a change of the rules. One example is the navigation case that I mentioned before. Another (typical) example would be a rule that defines when a customer is a Gold customer.

Oracle Business Component Browser hanging

I am trying to run a read-only view object in the Oracle Business Component Browser. The view object has bind variables. When I double click on the view object the browser comes up prompting me to enter the bind variables. After entering the values and clicking "OK" it lists the labels and fields for the return values, but the fields are blank. The query tests ok in the view object and when I run it in Toad, I get a return record, so I have confirmed that the data exists and the query runs correctly, but it does not work in the browser. In the log, the last line is: INFO: BC4J Tester started. It has been that way for about an hour now. It takes about 15 seconds to run in Toad.

ok, after running it in debut mode, it does list the query with the bind variables, then states: Reusing defined prepared Statement. Then finishes with:

Is this useful at all? Is it still trying to run it or are these normal ending log entries?

Oracle Business Rule

Hello Everyone,
I am using Oracle Business Rule in an application for calculation purpose on the basis of some price values. The price values may be changed according to date. I want calculate the value by any previous date price.
Example price is Rs. x/unit valid upto 10-may-2006
price is Rs. y/unit valid from 11-may-2006
I want to calculate values with x/unit on 20-may-2006.

If I understand you correctly then you would create two 'Rule Sets' for the same field.
Example:
Field: date Operator: <= 10-may-2006 Then: x/unit
Field: date Operator: >= 11-may-2006 Then: y/unit
Both rulesets will be validated when the API is called

Oracle Business Events related help needed

Hello All,
Good Morning , wanted some help regards Oracle Business events be used for sending notifications.
We are having a situation wherein we need to send notifications to the sales team whenever there are changes to the order line status..lets say the order line moves from Booked status to Awaiting Shipping status and further to Picked or Shipped status, we need to notify the sales team about this.
If we are going to use Business Events concept for this we wanted to check on the below points -
1.At the order line level what all seeded business events have been defined ( means if we could get the complete listing ) and whether any of these gets triggered when the order line status changes...we are on Oracle Release 12.0.6 version
2.Also is there a way to know what all parameters are being passed for a given seeded event, so that we know which parameters we could retrieve within the subscription using wf_event_t.getvalueforparameter function.
3.Regards setting up Subscriptions for this order line seeded business event : means we could see an option which says : "Send a Notification" when we are defining a Cstom Sbscription ( Now here it asks to give the Message Type ( This would be workflow item type where the message is defined in workflow ) and Message Name ) ..
Now if in this NOTIFICATION MESSAGE we need to show details like order number , sales rep , order line status etc ( then where do we set these details in the Event and also how do we pass these details from subscription so that it shows in the notification )
Means where do we setup and define values for the notification message attributes and how do we pass these values from event to the subscription and finally to the notification..How do we achieve this because some of the message attributes for the notification are Document Type while some are text/number types.. These would be required to show in the notif message...
4. Also once we send the notification lets say succesfully to person or a role using a subscription , how do we capture the response ...
Could someone please help us with this as we are stuck with this at the moment.
