    hello,
    We have configured a BAM report which displays data from a DB view. now since my view has 100's of records and we would like to show only first 100 records on report page.
    I understand this can be achieved by changing my query by adding  rownum <= 100 but here we dont want to change the query.
    I have checked on BAM report property and dont see any such setting...
    is this achievable from BAM DO or other property setting. ?

    resolved this issue by using FlowN functionality available in BAM

    Hi,
    Does it works well when you create a new and simple application? From my research, this issue is more related with visual studio develop issue, Causes of the problem was in this thread
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/03224208-033a-423d-93c1-648040a1fa57/instrumentaion-profiling-aspnet-application-file-contains-no-data-error?forum=vstsprofiler
    Details:
    Visual Studio Profiler collects data in a process called VsPerfMon.exe. It communicates with VS Performance Monitor through various global shared objects. These objects created only after we started VsPerfMon.exe. If we execute the target binary before
    we start the monitor, then, the "no data was collected" error happens.
    Hope this thread can give you some advises.

  • Use css file in oracle 10g report builder

    hi every one
    i am using oracle 10g report buidler. i want control paramform by usign css file.
    any body have idea how can i use css file in oracle report builder 10g and how can i modify it's path and i how can i manage any css class on a perticular field.

    Thanks Billy.
    Yes you are right.
    Here why I discarded that option is,
    I may get the source files with changing layouts.
    My Actual scenario is as follows.
    Initially we developped all the things using PL/SQL packages. Its working fine.
    But as per the inputs we received from requirements group, the file structure changes dynamically. and we would able to consider those new columns also. We should be able to changes the rules dynamically.
    Lets say, we doing fullouter join on Src_A and Src_B. on columns col1_A and col1_B.
    Now the requirement changes in a way that, the join should be done on Src_A and Src_C. on columns col1_A and col_C.
    For this I need to define a new package.
    Instead of that, I would like to do everything dynamically based on configuration parameters given as input.
    Thank you,

  • Regarding T Bar in Oracle 10g Reports

    Hi,
         We have the requirement to generate line graph report to meet the following requirement.
         The graph must be draw 4 horizontal lines.
         In these 4 lines, two lines displayed in the top and two lines in the bottom.
    The bottom two horizontal lines should be drawn along with vertical lines(T bars ) for      every x values.
         This graph is actually a combination graph which have both horizontal lines and T Bars.
         We have been recommended to use Oracle 10G Report builder to build this kind of report.
         We tried all the option available in the reporting tool, we could not able to represent T bars.
         Is it possible to generate report with T bars using Oracle 10G
    reporting tool.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Oracle SQL Developer and Errors (Line Number Incorrect)

    First, I wanted to state that Oracle SQL Developer 2 is a standout job.
    I wanted to report, though, that when Oracle SQL Developer 2 can't compile a block of code or a simple SQL statement has invalid syntax, it does not have an option to accurately go to the line of code in question. GOING TO the erroneous line of code doesn't need to be a feature, but often times the line no. REPORTED by Oracle SQL Developer is incorrect by 50+ lines.
    Is this something I could fix on my end? I have five other developers griping about this.
    Thank you!

    I don't know if this is the situation you are talking about, but line numbers for errors in SQL in a SQL Worksheet are not line numbers within the statement but rather line numbers in the worksheet. For example, with the following SQL in the worksheet:
    select * from dual;
    select * from dual;
    select * from dual;
    select from dual;Running the "select from dual;" statement (as either statement based on cursor position, selected statement or as script), the error is reported on Line 4, Column 7. As I show line numbers (Tools | Preferences | Code Editor | Line Gutter | Show Line Numbers), this makes sense. Without line numbers showing or having the option to go to the error and with more realistic examples with SQL statements scrolling off the page, I can see that the line number in the errors wouldn't be helpful.
    I think -K- is talking about the PL/SQL code editors not reporting the correct line number based on the error line not counting the "create or replace" line at the start of a package (and more for triggers).

  • Oracle 10g Reports Server - problem authenticating against DB

    I have a problem with Oracle 10g Reports server authenticating against an Oracle RDBMS.
    When I try to run reports, an authentication form screen is presented, with the password field empty (the URL in explorer that loads this page contains the username and DB instance, but is missing the password) and the following error message:
    REP-51018: Need database user authentication
    When the password is entered into the empty field in the form and submitted, another 2 authentication errors are given.
    REP-51018: Need database user authentication
    REP-12545: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
    When the URL in the browser location field is manually altered to include the DB password, the reports are authenticated fine.
    Any ideas which config file I should be looking in?
    Any pointers would, of course, be much appreciated.
    thanks,
    Brian

    Hello, i finally have discovered what was happening, it has to be with the way FreeBSD passes the password field. By default FreeBSD passes the password field with a '*' while Oracle Linux (and Red Hat clones) expect an 'x' to look into shadow maps (Linux uses the '*' character in the password file to not allow login to that user).
    To solve it the password field served by the NIS server must be substituted, which is accomplished with nsswitch.conf and adding a line to the /etc/password file on the NIS Client, so the final files will look this way:
    # nsswitch.conf (compat directive allows us to use the '+' sintaxis in /etc/passwd file)
    passwd files compat
    # /etc/passwd (just add at the end of file)
    +:x:::::

  • Samples template for oracle 10g reports

    Hi,
    I need a oracle 10g reports sample templates were we need to make modifications and use it.
    if any body has the sample templates can share with me or where can i get the sample templates.
    Please advice.

    In your $ORACLE_DEV_HOME/reports/templates, there are many template examples (they are actually all the same, just different colors). I would start with one of those templates and work forward. Make sure to read about templates in the online help, as applying them can override any changes you made to a report. Also read about how inheritence works in templates.

    Hello,
    Only Text Boilerplate can be rotated but you can reference a variable in a Boilerplate using a "lexical reference" :
    ex:
    if your SQL query is :
    select ename from emp
    Set the boilerpate text to :
    &ename
    to display the value of ename.
    Of course, the boilerplate must be in the repeating frame having the SQL query group as source.

  • Oracle rdf report format

    I want a help form you . If you can, please share.
    In a oracle .rdf report, suppose data are arranged in this format, like this
    RED     5
    RED     6
    RED     10
    GREEN     15
    GREEN     2
    BLUE     10
    BLUE     5
    but now, I want the report like this format:-
    RED     5
    ''     6
    ''     10
    GREEN     15
    "     2
    BLUE     10
    "     5
    How can i do this ? I am waiting for your early reply.

    In Data Model, find the group that contains your data.
    In that group:
    1. create a formula column named for example ”CF_set_value_color”
    2. create a placeholder column named for example ”CP_show_value_color” of VARCHAR2
    Outside the group; create a stand alone placeholder named ”CP_last_value_color” of VARCHAR2
    Now, create a PL/SQL procedure for your formula column ”CF_set_value_color:
    ”color” should be replaced with the name of the column that returns RED, GREEN or BLUE..
    function CF_set_value_colorFormula return Number is
    begin
    -- First row
    if :cp_last_value_color is null then
    -- Set values for placeholders
    :cp_last_value_color := :color;
    :cp_show_value_color := :color;
    else
    -- Second row and beyond
    if :cp_last_value_color = :color then
    -- If last color is the same as the current, show "
    :cp_show_value_color := '"';
    else
    -- If last color is NOT the same as this one, show new color
    :cp_last_value_color := :color; -- Set for comparison of next row
    :cp_show_value_color := :color;
    end if;
    end if;
    return 1;
    end;
    For each row the query retrieves, the value of “CP_show_value_color” will be RED, ”, ”, GREEN, ”, BLUE, ”
    Use that column for output instead of ”color” and it should work just fine.

  • Oracle Applications Report Mod & User Exits...

    OK, here is an incredibly stupid question for y'all. I want to customize an existing Oracle Application report (gasp!). I've brought the .rdf file down to my PC and made my changes. I can run the report OK if I ftp it back to UNIX and run it through Oracle Applications...but I can't run it on my PC. It can't find the user exits.
    Where can I find these user exits, and what must I do with them so I can run the report on my PC (from Report Builder)?
    Thank you for any and all assistance!

    You need to get and install the applicaions software (but not the DB objects) for your PC (if it's available - depends on the OS), so that the apps user-exits are available.
    Otherwise - stick to what you're doing. The advantage of this is that you see exactly how the report is going to look - there are porting issues between unix and win32 (eg fonts). This way you're testing on the target platform.
    You could try posting your question to an appsnet discussion forum (http://appsnet.oracle.com) and see what other applications users do.
    fyi, a lot of the user exits for apps are going away now that they're moving to Reports 6i as part of apps 11i. This is possible as we have included a lot of the functionality that they originally wrote as a user-exit, native in the product.
