Oracle error - ociexecute(): OCIStmtExecute: ORA-01858
Using PHP 4.3.11 on Linux and ADODB data abstraction library.
Oracle client version is 10.1.
Can sucessfully connect to remote database (version 9.2.0.6 NLS_LANG AL32UTF8).
When doing a simple select from a view:
select RTS_LOAD from VW_R_PROJECTED_LOAD_OUTPUT
I get the error message:
ociexecute(): OCIStmtExecute: ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected in /opt/devftp/var/www/php/adodb/461/drivers/adodb-oci8.inc.php on line 942
1858: ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected
If in my PHP script I directly query the underlying table that this Oracle view is based on, I have no problem.
Using SQLPlus on the web server I don't have any problems at all selecting from the view, it is definitely a valid view.
Any clues? If so please email as well as posting response here.
Geoff

Hi !
I think Your view has to_date function in its definition, and this to_date is called without second parameter: date format. Probably NLS_DATE_FORMAT is set to different values in SQL*Plus and PHP environment. You can check it out by running
select * from v$nls_parameters;
in SQL*Plus and in PHP.
If there are two different values You should modify view to use to_date in form: to_date(some_date_string, poroper_date_format)

robyavthis is a production database runing in windows platform and there is no backup
what should iWell first of all you should stop using EXP for backups, it's quite unsuitable, and start using RMAN instead. Find out more.
If you have a Metalink account you shoudl read Note:298968.1. But teh headline is there is a bug in 10gR1 which is fixed in 10gR2. This may not help you much. The workaround is to try running the export again later, which may not be any more helpful.

ORACLE error 959 encountered ORA-00959: tablespace 'xyz' does not exist
im importing a dump to a newly created BD and im using 11g. I have already tablespaces and user for the dump to be imported.
The problems is, i have a total of 5 tablespaces created, all 4 are working well except the one tablespace and im receiving a 959 error(IMP-00003: ORACLE error 959 encountered
ORA-00959: tablespace 'xyz' does not exist). The log mentions that the tablespace does not exist even if this tablespace exist in the list of tablespace and datafiles created.
Hope you could help me with this. Thanks

here are the result of my query and it seems that the tablespace is recognized by the DB.
is there still any reason why? also when i try to drop the said tablespace in getting a response of the "tablespace does not exist" but when i try to create the tablespace it says that "ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1

hope you can help me with this. -

when the Data Pump TRACE parameter is used in Oracle10g Release 2 or higher, then the user who connects to the database and runs the export DataPump job needs to have the DBA role or the EXP_FULL_DATABASE role (the same applies to Import DataPump with TRACE parameter: DBA or IMP_FULL_DATABASE role required), e.g.:
GRANT exp_full_database TO scott;
-- or:
GRANT dba TO expdp_role;

i dont have any such problem if i input data through sql command insert
plz suggest me some solution to this problem
thnx
nipunHi,
Just try watching is therer ar no unique indexes on that table where u are doing an insert. another reason might be the composite primary key or the combination that might be confusing you.
U can try out adding an exception block to the trigger and try raise when-dup-val-on-index exception
Thanks,

ORA-06540,following statement failed with ORACLE error 6540:
I was working during the last days on doing a full export/import for the database 9i I used the following script for the export .

the used script for import is
imp system/****** full=y rows=y file=/export/export.dmp log=/export/ofsaimport2.log buffer=20000000
Please note that all the tables and indexes are imported successfully even after the error started to show.
Is it something serious, should I do the import again with statistics=none or I am just fine now and it something that is just related for the statistics.Is really "fragmentation" an issue to justify this table movement? Why do you want to "defragment" your schema? Is it because of performance issues? If this is the case you are wasting your time, if you tried to rebuild the indexes by this procedure, it is also a waste of time. If you are concerned about fragmentation because of "holes" and "islands" of unused space within segments and unused space below the HWM, that is something different, in my personal jargon, I'd rather use the term space reorganization.
If the data import was successful, then take a look at the dba_objects and verify if the program unit is still there and check its status.
You may also want to take a look at this note from AskTom that explains what this error means --> http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:571023051648

I'm trying to write a PL/SQL function to dynamically return a query with varying # of columns. I've done this type of thing before wiith much success, however this is the first time I'm using a cursor for loop within a function to accomplish my task.
here is the error I get:
ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected
Error ERR-1101 Unable to process function body returning query.
Mind you I have tested the PL/SQL from a SQL editor and it works fine. I'm confused.
Code is below.
Thanks in advance!
DECLARE
my_query varchar2(4000);
string1 varchar2(50) := 'select city, ';
string2 varchar2(4000) := '' ;
string3 varchar2(4000):= 'from

from sj_class_summary3 a
group by a.title, a.city, a.start_date
having a.title = :P4_COURSE )
group by title, city';
TYPE date_tab_type IS TABLE OF date INDEX BY PLS_INTEGER;
date_tbl date_tab_type;
i number;
BEGIN
i:=1;
for myrec in (select distinct start_date from sj_class_summary3
where start_date between :P4_START_DATE and :P4_END_DATE order by 1) loop
date_tbl(i) := myrec.start_date;
string2 := string2 || ' max( decode( start_date, ''' || date_tbl(i) || ''', cnt,0) ) "' || date_tbl(i) || '", ';
i := i+ 1;
end loop;
string2 := SUBSTR(string2,1,LENGTH(string2)-2);
string2 := string2 || ' ';
my_query := string1 || string2 || string3;
return my_query;
END;Hi Bob,
you also have another date to character to date conversion in:
decode( start_date, ''' || date_tbl(i) || ''', cnt,0)
does this need to be:
decode( start_date, to_date(''' || to_char(date_tbl(i), 'dd/mm/yyyy') || ''', ''dd/mm/yyyy''), cnt,0)

OCIStmtExecute: ORA-00028: your session has been killed ORA-02063
Oracle Kills database sessions and my PHP script stops-
"Warning: ociexecute(): OCIStmtExecute: ORA-00028: your session has been killed ORA-02063: preceding line from <Databasename>"
I am not sure how to handle this. I am trying to see if PHP can identify when oracle drops session, can another script restart it. Any suggestions.
Thanks,

Oracle errors in Weblogic Error logs appear in non english
We have a problem with weblogic error logging. Specifically, in a managed server's log file, Oracle errors such as ORA-XXXX show in Greek, not English. We are assuming
that this is because the timezone is Europe/Athens. However, the weblogic application server runs with user.language=en, user.country=US. What's more, there are 4 application servers and 2 of them have this problem. The oracle database is accessed via weblogic datasources.
Oracle database server Setup: Oracle Server 11gR2 running on Oracle Linux 64 bit, timezone set to Europe/Athens
Weblogic Server: Weblogic 10.3.5 running on Oracle Linux 64 bit, timezone set to Europe/Athens
The managed server, according to jrockit, the jvm runs with the following language related system properties:
user.language=en, user.country=US, user.timezone=Europe/Athens
The question is: How do we tell oracle / weblogic to log english text for the ORA errors?
Thanks,
ChrisI digged in the weblogic installation directory and it seems like the domain configuration wizard messed up the jdbc configs for the data sources.
The config xml files for the data sources in the /domain root/config/jdbc directory had oracle driver but the test query was for pointbase. I double checked from the database.xml file in the init-info directory and corrected the entry in the datasource config xmls and voila!.. the errors were gone.
I am not sure if this was the right approach and whether i have solved the issue or simply patched it.. so I am keeping the question open. If any one has any inputs I will be grateful.
If the mods/admins feel that the thread should be marked as solved I will surely do so.
Thanks. -
Error while exporting : ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob funct
hello,
I am doing an export on a 10.2.0.4 , solaris machine.
The table i am doing an export has a blob & clob.
During the export I get the error :
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 24801 encountered
ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function
In metalink it was given : Check every parameter in the OCI Lob function call to make sure they
are correct. Offsets should be greater than or equal to one.
Where should I check for that OCI Lob function. Or is there any other alternative to do the export.
Thanks for any help.I have increased the space on the mount I was doing the export and that solved the problem.
