I'm sure the Oracle SOA Suite Version is 10.1.4. I get Oracle Application Server 10g Software (10.1.3.x) at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/index.html.
And I get the patchs(p5983637_101420_LINUX.zip, p5983640_101420_LINUX.zip) from metalink.
It works well for about half of year. A few days ago, my workmate stop the server use command './opmnctl shutdown', but this command no response, so she reboot the server, And it didn't work now. -
Win2k cannot start oracle services
Hi,
Usually, our oracle servers can start up autometically
when the machine start up.
Just now, oracle services cannot start. I try use
start->control panel->administrator tool-> services to
start oracle service, it gets errors as following:
could not start the OracleOraHome90TNSListener service on
local computer.
Error 5: Access is denied.
Then I try to use "lsnrctl start listener"
I got following errors:
Failed to start service, error 5.
TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error
I check listener log file, no new message is add to it.
My OS is window 2000 professional.
Oracle server version: 9.0.1.1.1
Thank you for some advice.
JulieHi,
I try to fix it by change log on setting by
setting the oracle service as 'this account' and
fill in account and password with system administrator
account information. Then all oracle services can work
properly. But with this setting the web application which
connect oracle database cannot login to database.
It may be the registry database of the machine get
corrupted.
How can I delete all oracle services and recreate the
them again, then will re-register the service information?
By the way, all other services in system are log on as
localsystem account, only oracle services does not allow
me set up as localsystem account, if I did that way, oracle service will not start and complain "error 5:
access is denied"
Thank you for give me some guide lines.

Please execute the following commands and compare the results.
1.
hostname --fqdn2.
nslookup <your_ip_address>In both cases you should see the fully qualified hostname of your server.

Cannot start weblogic server anymore after conf. jena for oracle database
Hi,
My weblogic server 10.3.4.0 installed in oracle developer days in oralce linux guest was able to start before using the oracle user account. Following the seman. tech. dev. guide, I set up jena adapter for oracle in my guest linux system. Since the oracle user doesn't have permission to copy folders into the autodeploy directory in weblogic server, so I login as root to copy the joseki.war folder into the autodeploy directory. However, after that, I am not able to start the weblogic server console anymore using the oracle user account. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.
HongPl do not post duplicates - cannot start weblogic server anymore in oracle user after config. in root

Configured Oracle Web Tier, cannot start opmn
Hi,I am new to server technologies.
I have installed WebCenter Suite. Now I want to config OAM to use SSO. Refering to Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter I should install Oracle Web Tier first.
But when I Configured Oracle Web Tier ( address ), I cannot start opmn.
Appreciate your help

Edited by: Sunny.Zhang on 2009-9-21 上午11:46Hi Sunny
Hope you had successfully installed the WebTier. I tried 2,3 times to install it on WINDOWS SERVER 2003 but it is throwing following exception during "Create and Start OHS Component) at configuration stage. Did you get similar type of exception?
Not sure it was due to any conflicts with any of already installed Database 11g, Web Logic, SOA Suite.
Help is appreciated.

Dbstart cannot start Oracle server
The command dbstart cannot start the Oracle 8ir2 (8.1.6) server. It only shows the message "Database "ORCL" warm started.", but the oracle instance did not start nor database was not mounted. I have updated the /etc/oratab file to put Y to my database.
But the command dbshut can shutdown the oracle server.
Any help!!
I am running Redhat 6.2. The hardware is Athlon K7-750, 256MB Ram, ASUS K7V M/B, Voodoo 3.The program svrmgrl of Oracle 8ir2 shows JServer Release 8.1.6.0.0 instead of PL/SQL (Version|Release) 8.1.? in the screen. Thus, I edit the dbstart script to change the line
/PL\/SQL (Release|Version)/ {substr($3,1,3) ;
to
/JServer (Release|Version)/ {substr($3,1,3) ;
to solve this problem.

CANNOT START ORACLE 10G IN OPENSUSE 11.1
Hallo!I managed to install successfully the Oracle 10g on OpenSUSE 11.1.
I have tried to configure the machine so that the Oracle listener and database start up when the computer boots by trying to open the /etc/oratab and trying to change the ‘N’ at the end to a ‘Y’.
Unfortunately, the /etc/oratab does not exist in my system. But I have been able to open YaST and Go to /etc/sysconfig Editor > Productivity > Databases > Tools > Oracle > DB and change the following to “yes”:
- START_ORACLE_DB
- START_ORACLE_DB_LISTENER
- START_ORACLE_DB_EMANAGER
- START_ORACLE_DB_ISQLPLUS
Unluckily, when I type the following commands at the terminal,I get the response that they (the commands) do not exist
a. Start Oracle listener – lsnrctl start
b. Start Enterprise manager services – emctl start dbconsole
c. Start iSQL *Plus – isqlplusctl start
d. Check if sqlplus is working:
sqlplus “connect / as sysdba“
How do I solve this problem?Hallo!I am using openSUSE 11.1 i586.Moreover I installed Oracle 10g R2 from the zipped file 10201_database_linux32 .These are the steps I followed to install Oracle 10g into my Linux platform.I borrowed them from 2 web pages
Oracle_on_openSUSE || The URL-http://en.opensuse.org/Oracle_on_openSUSE
Installing Oracle 10g on openSUSE 10.3||The URL-http://tianawarner.blogspot.com/2008/08/installing-oracle-10g-on-opensuse-103.html
1)I ensured that the packages below have been installed first
-kernel-source
binutils
gcc
gcc-c++
glibc
libaio
libaio-devel
make
gnome-libs
libstdc++
libstdc++-devel
xscreensaver
sysstat
3)I then installed orarun
4)Log in as super user and go to /etc/profile.d/oracle.sh.Change the variable ORACLE_HOME to /home/JOEY
5) Configure the new oracle user.
a. Type passwd oracle in the terminal. Change the password for the oracle user.
b. Type rcoracle start to set kernel parameters. Ignore any errors.
c. Go to YaST > User Management. To see the oracle user, set the filter to System Users.
- Find the oracle user and click edit.
- Uncheck disable user login.
- Go to the details tab and make sure the login shell is set to /bin/bash.
7)Copy the oracle s/w from CD,unrar it and store unzipped folder as oracle on the Desktop
8)Modify the ‘certified versions’ section of the disk’s /install/oraparam.ini file, to add support for openSUSE 11.1. Just add SuSE-11 to the end of the line.
9)Set the DISPLAY. As administrator type in xhost +. Log in as the oracle user by typing su - oracle and then type export DISPLAY=:0
10)Set updated kernel parameters by executing rcoracle start.
11)Log out as root.Log in as normal user at the shell.Move into the oracle folder in the terminal and run ./runInstaller.
12)The OUI dialog box appeared,I entered the password in the two password entry text boxes.I left the default database as orcl.I never did any other command based configuration.Just used the OUI to proceed installation in the simplistic manner that one uses while installing Oracle in Windows.
13)I did get 2 errors (I cannot remember them)but I ignored them and proceeded to finish the Oracle installation.
14) I tried to Configure the machine so that the Oracle listener and database start up when the computer boots.
a. Type gedit /etc/oratab from root. Change the ‘N’ at the end to a ‘Y’.I tried this but could not find the oratab file.
b. Open YaST. Go to /etc/sysconfig Editor > Productivity > Databases > Tools > Oracle > DB. Change the following to “yes”:
- START_ORACLE_DB
- START_ORACLE_DB_LISTENER
- START_ORACLE_DB_EMANAGER
- START_ORACLE_DB_ISQLPLUS
15)I successfully implemented part b above
When I tried to perform the following checks:
a. Start Oracle listener – lsnrctl start
b. Start Enterprise manager services – emctl start dbconsole
c. Start iSQL *Plus – isqlplusctl start
d. Check if sqlplus is working:
sqlplus “connect / as sysdba“
I received the errors commands do not exist.
Please give me a correct step-by-step guide of how to install the Oracle. If I will need to uninstall my Oracle in order to install it correctly, please give me a step by step uninstallation guide.
Thanks in advance. -
Http server cannot start after running the following JSP
Hi,
I have 9iAS 1.0.2.2 and it has been working fine.
My http server was running fine until I ran the following Jsp. Now I cannot start the Http server at all.
I check the Oracle home and the path and make sure they match (i.e. if my Oracle Home is iSuites, I have the PATH variable: c:\oracle\isuites\bin as the 1st one. And I reboot the system after I changed the Oracle Home, check the PATH variable etc.)
I also check the oci.dll files, and I have the oci.dll file in the following directories:
c:\oracle\ora81\BIN 87KB
c:\oracle\806\BIN 38KB
c:\oracle\iSuites\BIN 87KB
I check the Registry (regedit) and found that I have ORACLE_HOME_KEY for ora81 home, iSuites home, but not
806 home. And there are oracle.key files in c:\oracle\ora81\bin, c:\oracle\806\bin, c:\oracle\isuites\bin .
The contents of oracle.key in c:\oracle\ora81\bin and c:\oracle\isuites\bin are correct (i.e. "Software\ORACLE\HOME0" "Software\ORACLE\HOME2" respectively.) However, the content in c:\oracle\806\bin is "Software\ORACLE" .
Will this be a problem because there is no corresponding ORACLE_HOME_KEY for 806 in regedit?
OR
the OCI.DLL file is corrupted in one of the above directory.
Below is the JSP code that I ran. Before that, my HTTP server is started correctly.
I really appreciate if someone could give me some pointers about this.
Thanks;
Kelly.

I can ensure that all of these connection pool has configured to run on 9093 port already. Then I view the DOMAIN_NAME/pointbase.log, it said:
Unable to start the server. start server error: java.net.BindException: Address already in use
I cannot understand what's run on pointbase address ?
All of these error make me angry, because I've configured with the same way on other system and It's work. I've spent all of week to fix these bug, but I'm having nothing :((
Please help me.Thank Jay SenSharma.
I've looked for these JAVA_OPTION values you said, but I cant found them. That value is content of JAVA_DEBUG option, not JAVA_OPTION. In my situation, JAVA_DEBUG=" " (it's not set by default).
Please re-view my error log:

Re Post: Http server cannot start after running the following JSP
Hi,
I have 9iAS 1.0.2.2 and it has been working fine.
I also suspect that when the HTTP server was brought down for some reasons and it was not a clean shutdown.
So how can I shutdown the http server cleanly before restarting that?
Thanks;
Kelly.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/GNOME/Accessibility/JavaBridge (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
It turned out that something (I suspect the patch) had replaced my java1.5.0_06 binary with a java1.4.2_03 binary - but left the java1.5 directory structure alone! i.e. looking in /usr/jdk would have indicated that java1.5 was installed, but when I ran jdk1.5.0_06/bin/java -version , it reported java version "1.4.2_03". I was unimpressed.
I ended up removing all the SUNWj5* packages and reinstalling them and then I could start the admin console.
Now to find out what other damage this patch might have caused..... -
I have been running Oracle 10.2.0.1 on Windows Server 2003 and I ran the patch set to upgrade to 10.2.0.3. After running the patch I rebooted and now I cannot start Oracle. I get the following error running the startup command:

Thanks in advance.
BrianI think that you may have hit on it. It looks like the DB was not upgraded.
I just ran the patch set package p5337014_10203_WINNT. I assumed that it upgraded both the binaries and DB (if needed). In the alert file I had the following:
ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option
Why it couldn't just show that on the screen is beyond me. :)
I found the following steps and it seems to have worked. Thanks for your help!
1. start a new sqlplus session
2. fire the following command on sqlplus
STARTUP UPGRADE
3. The database now opens successfully after which catalog and cataproc
sql's can be fired.
4. Now shutdown and startup the database as the database was started
with UPGRADE option.
pupbld sql can be executed after step 4. -
I cannot start my OMS service on Windows 2000
I tried starting Oracle8i OMS Service on Windows 2000. I cannot
start it automatically so I started it manually. But Irecieved
an error message saying No application Error, some configuration
error with the Operating System.
On searching forums for DBAs i recieved a solution to manually
start by command 'oemctrl start OMS'. It did not help either as
the resources.ora file was not present at the location
C:\Oracle\admin\orb\resources.ora .
I found a resources.ora at location c:\oracle\ora81
\orb\admin\resources.ora but this file is empty.
NOW Wwith the command 'oemctrl start OMS' I am getting the
following error msg. Please send me the answer if possible at
[email protected]. WHERE Can I find the content for
resources.ora??
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>oemctrl start OMS

Cannot start the presentation server

OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0
Weblogic Server 10.3.5.0
OBIEE gurus,
I cannot start the presentation server via EM or via the command line ./opmnctl startproc ias-component=coreapplication_obips1.
I get the error in the comman line:
opmnctl startproc: starting opmn managed processes...

Log:
$ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/console~coreapplication_obips1~1.log
I have checked the log above which contains:

13/07/18 15:27:14 Start process
13/07/18 15:58:53 Start process
13/07/18 15:59:00 Start process
Not very helpful!
I have checked the OPMN log at $ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/OPMN/opmn/opmn.log which has the following errors:

I have tried refreshing the user GUIDS, loading another rpd file in through EM that I know works fine in another environment, cleaning the permissions in the web catalog but all so dar have not resulted in me being able to start the presentation server.
I would welcome any feedback on this as it is driving me crazy!
Thanks in anticipation.Hi ,
I tried it but no use. That thread had some errors displayed in it. But i get just a warning.
Pls help
