Oracle Jdeveloper(iDS) Installation on NT 4 Service Pack 6a

Has anyone experienced problems installing Oracle9iDS(Jdeveloper) on an NT 4.0 platform? I have tried everything but the install just does not work. Even had to download Java JRE 1.3.1_05 from Sun's Website but to no avail. What is the problem with Oracle? Tried three different NT servers but still will not work. Even used the Dos Command prompt but nought! Meanwhile have set the Classpath and Path under WindowsNT Control panel to point to the javasoft\JRE\bin and logged in as Administrator with Admin previleges but still zero..Can anyone help? As all i need is just a Java SDK/JRE 1.3 on a server to facilitate the Install of e-Business Suite Financials 11i. I wonder if the Rapid Install Wizard on that will even work...Any help will be much apprecited.

This is bug 1507768. Info on it can be found at MetaLink. There are two workarounds
A.
1. Obtain patch number 1507768 from Metalink
2. unzip the patch
3. unjar the contents
4. Go to the directory
\cd\Disk1\stage\Components\oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30/1\DataFiles\Expan
ded\jre\win32\bin\symcjit.dll
rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.dll.ori
5. Invoke OUI and install OUI to disk
cd ./cd/Disk1/stage/win32/setup.exe
6. Use the installed OUI to install the RDBMS
7. Invoke OUI from the start menu, and install RDBMS software
B.
1. Create a temporary directory on your server.
2. Copy the contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the
temporarydirectory created in step 1.
3. Search the directory structure created in step 1 for the
existence of the filename symcjit.dll.
4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
5. Run the setup.exe from the \install\win32 directory and
install Oracle 8.1.x.

  • Oracle 9i require service pack 1?!

as it said it requires service pack 1 or higher, what is it?
    Where can d/l?
    thx~

Where did you read this? My guess, since Oracle doesn't refer to patchsets as service packs, is that it may be talking about a particular operating system (Windwos?) requirement, i.e. XP service pack 1, or something like that.
There have been two releases of 9i, a 9.0 release and a 9.2 release, which are sometimes referred to as 9i & 9i Release 2. 9.2 is the only version of these that's available for download on OTN so far as I'm aware.

  • Vista Service Pack 2 install error message and Realtek incompatibility

Just want to inform that service pack 2 install gave me an error message when I installed it on a clean rebuild of my Toshiba laptop. Something about an incompatible driver. As I had already installed the latest drivers from Toshiba pages, I choose the 'ignore and continue' action at install, and the update successfully completed.
I then ran the Windows Upgrade advisor utility (just search a Microsoft website to find it) which checks for hardware/driver compliance with Vista.
Their report says that the Realtek RTL8187B wireless adapter driver has an issue with Vista, and recommends that the latest driver be installed. Since I do have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?
The wifi connection with this laptop functions well, with the only 'problem' being a 45 second delay when waking up from sleep mode to being able to open a new web page. This is the time it takes to establish a connection to my router/modem.

    > Their report says that the Realtek RTL8187B wireless adapter driver has an issue with Vista, and recommends that the latest driver be installed. Since I do have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?
You could try the Realtek WLan driver from the Realtek driver page.
There you can find the latest Realtek drivers for different Realtek chips.
But to be honest I would not be worried about this massage.
Something like that can happens always after any installations of the Microsoft service packs.
I remember that many drivers were not supported by SP1 but they ran properly
    So take it easy ;)

  • SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 Configuration file path: is empty

I have begun installing SQL 2012 Service Pack 2 on a test system and I go to the page where it is Ready to update.  The configuration file path: at the bottom of the screen was empty.  Is this normal or will I need to go to the default locations
of Bootstrap to find the configuration file this upgrade is going to use?  This is something that is odd as a majority of our current installations is automated using a configuration file and a path for the Upgrade files.
    Rick

    Hi Rick,
Based on your description, I make a test on my computer. When I go to the ‘Ready to update’ page, I also find that the ‘configuration file path’ box is empty, below is my screenshot. This is a normal phenomenon during the installation of SQL Server Service
    Pack.
We don’t need to find the configuration file from SQL Server setup location, just click the Update button to perform the Service Pack installation. After the update process, I install SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 successfully.
Besides, there is also a similar article about installing SQL Server Service Pack for your reference.

Can you check the setting of your TMP and TEMP environment variables? Change them to a directory without quota or any other restrictions and enough disk space and try again.

  • Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.2.0) (Build 6183)Installations

I clicked the Studio Edition:11.1.2.2.0 Windows Install Download File button from the Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.2.0) (Build 6183)Installations page. After that I clicked Save and a window displayed with the % complete. It goes to 99% complete and 1 sec left and this seems to hang at that point. I've left it going for several minutes and then eventually cancelled it. I have the correct jdk version. Any suggestions?

You mean the download hangs at 99%?
That its usually the point when your virus checker starts its work. Some such programs are known to have trouble with large archive files containing many files.
Try to download with three virus checker turned off.

  • Issue with creating Web Service Client using Oracle JDeveloper

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a Web Service Client using Oracle JDeveloper. I set the Project compiler property to JRE 1.4
When I run the web service client, it throws me bunch of errors saying:
'Error(32,2): annotations are not supported in -source 1.4'
I am wondering why JDeveloper is using annotations even after I set the compiler property to 1.4
I am following this link to create the webservice client:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/webservices-forms-11g-094111.html
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott.

    Dear Shay,
    Thanks for your prompt response.
You are right. JDeveloper 11g uses JDK 6 style annotations for the clients it creates. But you can change the JRE Version used at compile time by following these steps:
    1. In the Applications Navigator, right-click the Project Nanem node and select Project Properties... from the context menu.
    2. Select the Compiler node and check the Source Files and Generated Class Files dropdown lists. You may change these versions depending on the version of the JRE you are using with Forms to ensure that the compiled
classes from JDeveloper can be read by the JRE used by Form.
So I selected JDK version 1.4 there.
Sorry that I did not mention that we are using Oracle Forms 10g. That is the reason I selected JDK 1.4
    Thank you.
    Scott.

  • Oracle Jdeveloper installation in windows 7

Could anybody help as I am facing problem installing oracle jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 .When i am trying to run jsp page in a application it si giving error as below  The Server Instance cannot be started because the Integrated Weblogic domain was not built successfully.

    Hi,
In addition to the above point.
I have same win7 - jdev 11.1.1.5.0 in my laptop. it works.
I have the same problem as like of in win7 office pc.
Atlast I came to know that,
my laptop has appropriated user access to built weblogic server.
but my office pc has not much user access granted by the system admin.
After giving the appropriate user access the error fly off.
so i conclude that basis on user access and rights this error flows out
" The Server Instance cannot be started because the Integrated Weblogic domain was not built successfully."

If you create a new application and try to create a new JSF page there are you still getting this error?
If you do then I think something in your installation went wrong - the first step would then be to delete the system directory at: C:\Documents and Settings\youruser\Application Data\JDeveloper and restart JDeveloper.

  • Oracle 9i R2 Installation on RH Linux 7.3 -- Have a few questions.

    Hello,
I am at the end of the Oracle 9i R2 installation and have a few questions.
    1) The "Agent Configuration Assistant" keeps failing. I get the following message.
    Parameters "orahome" = /opt/oracle/product/9.2.0
    Parameters "nodeinfo" = NODE_VALUE
    Agent Service Failed
What does this mean and how can I complete Agent Configuration Assistant install?
    2) I completed the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant successfully and created passwords for sys and sysoper (not sure if these were the exact users). Note I did not modify any other users or unlock them.
How do I log into the sqlplus prompt, what users should I use and how can I create new users and databases?
Thanks for your help in advance.

    (1) You can probably just ignore the Agent Configuration (are you using the Agent to collect data?)
    (2) sqlplus '/ as sysdba' will log you into the SQL*Plus prompt.

  • Forms 10g Installation issue on windows 7 Professional service pack 1

    hi
I am trying to install oracle forms 10g  64 bit windows 7 Professional service pack 1 ..
Below are 2 files that i am using ..
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
But it failed but the error is ..
Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.    Actual 6.1     Failed <<<<
just wondering if there are any workaround ..

Christian is right - Forms 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for installation on Windows 7.  You must apply a Forms 10g R2 patch to bring the version to 10.1.2.3.0 for it to be certified.  You must have a My Oracle Support account to obtain the patch.
Now, to your question - is there a workaround; the answer is yes.  There are known issues with this installer.  I'll list them and their workaround.
    1.  The Oracle installer checks for a specific set of Windows versions rather than check for a minimum Windows version.
Workaround:  Right-click the Installer and select Properties.  Click the Compatibility tab and click the checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for:  Windows XP SP3).
    2.  The Oracle Installer can't detect Windows Managed Virtual Memory (VM).
Workaround:  You must temporarily change the Virtual Memory settings and specify specific Initial and Maximum sizes.  See this Microsoft article for more information on changing VM settings.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory
This change will require you to restart your computer.  After you have successfully installed Oracle Forms 10g, you can restore the original VM settings.
    3.  The Oracle installer MUST be installed as an "Administrator".
Workaround:  Windows 7 uses "Least privileged user" so you must right-click the Installer and select the Compatibility tab.  Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.
    4.  Not a Oracle installer issue, but you will have to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (1.6.0 - not 1.7.0) because Oracle Forms is a 32-bit application so it will not be able to use the 64-bit JRE.
Run the Oracle installer and it should now install succesfully.
